th

Oink!!! We are excited to tell you that there are 11 more days until spring!

Look at their noses, aren't they cute?? I wanna boop them.
I am hoping that these piggies know what they are talking about because it sure as heck doesn't feel like Spring is anywhere close to arriving. I just took the dogs outside and it is raining now but in a few hours, the temps are going to drop and all that is going to change to sleet and snow.

So let's see, what did I do yesterday? I scrapped another page for Christopher's book. Laundry, dishes, so on and so forth. Played with the dogs. Started my food shopping list. I also decided that I am going to go shop in person next week. I haven't done that since before the holidays when Omicron was skyrocketing. I don't miss the store itself but I will be able to find some things (hopefully) that I can't seem to get when I do the online order.
Oh yeah, I spent more time trying to contact the state and electric company. I finally heard back from the state saying that they are missing the Zero Income statement from me. Well, Duh. That is that paperwork that the county sent over to them *twice.* I give up- I don't know what else I can do. *throws hand in the air*

No big plans again today. Cait is on Spring Break and suggested that we take some time to work on a new puzzle. I got her one for Christmas that we didn't do yet- Disney's Haunted Mansion. It is all very dark tones so I know it is going to be difficult.

Sorry if I am a downer today. Everything feels so "stuck."

Have a fantastic weekend my lOves!!

Sending you all the best that things aren't so "stuck" for you Chris @faerywings ! Enjoy your day with your daughter. The mindlessness of puzzles always helps me not to focus on anything else, hence I don't do them often because I'm sucked in & can't do anything else until its complete, lol!

Today we were going to plan a Costco trip, & take my cousin for the first time, but as her new baby didn't let her get any sleep last night we are putting that off until tomorrow. So today I just have a maternity photoshoot for a friend & possibly going to visit my grandma. This is my husband's first Saturday off in FOREVER, so I'm just going to enjoy having kiddo help for 2 days instead of just the normal 1. Needing that this week since both girls have been teething & the first half of the week was rocky on getting any rest myself. Luckily little miss Alice seems to be back to her normal sleeping pattern the last 2 nights, so I'm feeling much better.

Anyway! Since no Costco today we'll still have to do a tiny grocery run because the house is pretty empty. My DH does most of that since Covid, and I joke we spend 3x as much when I go with him & we still end up with the same "nothing" when we unload, lol!

@Lynn Grieveson This year has been a piece of cake compared to last year. Scott bought and sold Bitcoin and hoo boy, that was *bonkers* trying to figure out how to do that part.
Sorry to hear that your arm and shoulder hurt-- but, suck it up buttercup- no *way* are we gonna let you stop designing now that you are at the O! bwuahahah. JK!! As someone who also lives with chronic pain, I will be the first one to tell you to always listen to your body. And I will be the *last* one to do so myself :D
Whew!!! Thank goodness that you didn't get Covid-- a good idea to keep masking/double masking as needed

@bcgal00 How was it, selling your equipment? I hope it didn't hurt too much to see it go. Are you keeping any of your photoshoot items or just cameras and lenses? I am in awe of how you are staying on task and getting so much done.

@BrightEyes I hope that the temps warmed up by you but at least there was no snow. I would be staying in and under all of my blankets too. (oh, yeah-- that is *exactly* what I do LOL)
IKWYM about wishing for more photos during certain periods of time. Again, not to the same level as you, but when Gary was so sick, I missed so many photos of the kids growing up in that time. Part of me wants to delete the pics of Scott and Leah but I know that I'll regret that eventually. But will I?? That is what I wrestle with all of the time.
When will DD#3 move in? In a few days?

@taxed4ever Ahhhhhhhh, I LOOOOOOOVE Poochie and his ear!!! Do they stay like that all of the time? My baby had one ear up, one ear down always and I loved that too. Mason is going to the thrilled to have his picture of his puppy on a shirt.
So awesome that you had the pool lane to yourself and that the water was warm. Finally!
Enjoy the errands with your Gary today since I know that you will be out and about together.

@Cherylndesigns That sounds like Mother Nature is on a tear LOL But I will take the 70* weather so enjoy it for me, please. Hugs to you about the photos, I can only imagine how hard it is to see some of them. xo

@scrap-genie I don't know what Grackles look like but I hope that they are around here too. I just googled them, what pretty blue heads they have. I don't think I have seen any here but I hope that they come around soon.
I hope that you arent getting the storm system that we are. stay warm!

Hugs to you all!

Good Morning everyone! It is another rainy morning, but the temps are a bit milder, so that means that we won't get any snow at least. Yesterday was a crazy kind of day where I wandered around the house going from one project to another. The phone rang many times and I felt like my day was spent talking to my sister, my MIL/FIL, a good friend and a couple of calls from telephone solicitors LOL. The last ones I usually just hang up on and then block them from calling me again. So needless to say I did not get any scrapping done. Another thing that kept me quite busy was the parcel that arrived from Rae!!! @bcgal00 OMG there were so many wonderful goodies in there and the box weighed a ton!! Now I have to find a place for all of these treasures! I can't tell you how much I appreciate her sending me all these great things! I also can't believe how quickly it arrived! Usually Canada Post is very slow. It arrived the very next day! So of course a lot of my afternoon was spent admiring all the goods! Then I spent an hour or so on Hunter's t-shirt, cutting out the SVG file of the Walrus he wanted on his shirt, today I will get it ironed on and at least his shirt will be done. Mason has me on his kids Messenger and txts me throughout the day, so he keeps me busy, we play little games and make funny faces at each other. It's so cute that he wants to talk to me so much! I bet I will be busy all next week with him as they are on spring break.

@faerywings - I hope that winter leaves you quickly and you get to see your crocus again! Yes my DH and I will be out and about today, hopefully we can get some eggs from Hope Farm and then we will go to the grocery store, we always spend way more when we physically shop LOL. Not sure I am ready to not wear my mask in the store and some places are still insisting that you do, we will have to see what the signs say before entering. A few things to do around the house, but it looks like we won't be doing any yard work today, its far to wet out there. I am not sure if Poochie's ears will stay the way they are, but I hope so, he's got such a cute face! Mason just loves him so much and he is doing wonders for his Anxiety issues!! OMG about the electric bill issues!! How frustrating!! I hope you and Cait can chill out and work on the puzzle today!

@EHStudios - How nice to have the extra help with the girls for an extra day! Have a good shopping trip to Costco tomorrow, seems every time we go there we spend twice as much as the previous visit, darn prices keep skyrocketing!

@scrap-genie - Those little black birds have such a unique shape, like they are crows that have been stretched LOL. We have something similar here, but not sure that they are Grackles?? I don't think Grackles come that far West? Glad that you are seeing them though, means spring is on the way!

@Cherylndesigns - Sounds like your weather is pretty crazy right now! Our son txt me this morning to say that they just got a ton more of snow and now he has to get the snowblower out again. Ugh!! Sorry that you have the photos that make you too sad to look at them. Good that you are keeping them though, its a part of the history of your family and should not be discarded. I too have many photos that I just can't bear to look at, most of them of when our daughter was so very sick, its heartbreaking to see those ones again.

Ok well I guess I will get some brunch started for DH and myself and then off to Hope Farm, hopefully we are not too late as they sell out of eggs quickly on the weekends! Have a great Saturday everyone!

Hello everyone! I'm supposed to help DH with taxes and I drag my feet on this every year because quite frankly he's book keeping methods suck for they type A side of my brain..... so what am I doing, easy....looking for any reason to NOT do books!!!!

Oh and I guess I was supposed to buy him some nuts.... instead, I bought some to feed the squirrels... Priorities, right? LOL

@faerywings that photo of the little pigs is very cute.

Well, it just turned to noon, so good afternoon.

Chris @faerywings LOVE that sweet picture and I'd love to tweak those little noses, too. Glad you, at least, got a response from the electric company even though you probably already sent them the information. Does anybody read anything you send them anymore? You have to sent it via megaphone. LOL Glad you and Cait are going to start a new puzzle. I love "mindless activities", too.

Our snow is almost melted away and tomorrow is supposed to be 65 and by Wednesday, 75! Chris @faerywings I'll try to package some of that up and send it to you.

Trudy @taxed4ever sounds like your phone keeps you busy - mine does too. I text back and forth with my youngest DD all day and sometimes Asher sends me silly stuff - like the funny faces that you were talking about. Sometimes, I'll get these long texts with nothing but emojis. I love it! There's no way I'd get rid of my pictures, no matter how painful they are to look at. Occasionally, I can take a few in small doses, then I'm done. When I feel the tears coming, I'm done. They're all in my head and heart anyway. I lost a lot of my really old pictures when we had a flood in our basement years ago when we still lived in Michigan. Good ole' basements. It was a finished basement, but the flood didn't know that. :( Adrienne lost all of her Christmas decorations one year - same thing. She was devastated. I lost a lot of mine, too.

Esther @mywisecrafts good to see you popping in here. Good luck with getting out of doing the taxes. I don't know about yours, but my hubby gets pretty cranky when he's doing them. We all stay out of his way.

I'm going to go back to my LO that I'm working on. I don't know if I like it or not. UGH

Happy weekend everybody!

We got about an inch of snow but that is not unexpected in March. Hope we get back to warm soon.

Chris @faerywings hope you were able to chill with Cait and a puzzle. We usually have one going & I like that a lot.

Trudy & Rae @taxed4ever @bcgal00 how sweet that Canada Post was on the ball and the goodies got there so soon. Rae bet it was fun being able to put all that in Trudy's box. And Trudy what a pleasure not only with the goodies but thinking of Rae as you see and use them. So cool both of you!!

Have to start dinner soon, so wishing all a happy remainder of the weekend.

Good afternoon everyone. I've been busy packing all day and am so tired, I could go to bed now except I haven't had dinner LOL. Got a lot done and tomorrow will hopefully finish the basement except for the office and garage. We willed the truck up (again) for a trip to the dump. I've lost track of how many times we've done this, maybe 4 or 5. There will be at least one more as we get close to finishing. Tomorrow the other bedroom set should be sold and then that only leaves a desk to be sold. Next week we can order a dining room set. I can't believe we'll be out of here soon. We go to a hotel room on the 30th for 2 nights and then can head up to Kamloops and spend a night in a hotel there until the movers come, hopefully the trip goes smoothly for them, otherwise we'll be stuck in the hotel longer as we wait for them.

I signed up for a temporary library card from Kamloops so I can get digital books and within 3 mths will need to visit them and show ID to get a permanent acct.

Things are progressing as they should, so far.

th

Even the clocks know it is almost Spring. 10 Days to Go!

Sure as heck doesn't feel like it in NJ. It is brutal out there. We got only a few inches of snow but it was icy and slippery. with accidents all over town. Tom's shop closed up early so he drove here before it got worse. I haven't seen what it looks like in the backyard but I am guessing that there are lots of branches down. The snow was mostly coming down sideways. Just a few more days and we are supposed to warm up into the 60s.
The sun is out and bright this morning, please let it melt the snow and ice in my driveway

I feel like I want to jump out of my skin today. Ever feel like that? So much chaos in the world and I feel like I am stuck inside.

I did some organizing of scrap stuff- kits and fonts. That took up most of the afternoon and kept me from staring out the windows at the snow LOL
BRB, I think Jaidais trying to get me to play with her. Occasionally she will press the Play button or stare at it until I notice her

She just wanted me to chase her around the stairs, about 5 laps of that and I am pooped.

@EHStudios I was bummed that b/c Tom got her early, Cait and I didn't work on the puzzle. Maybe tomorrow. How awesome to have your DH home for an extra day. It has to be non-stop movement in your house with two little ones :)

@taxed4ever I am so happy that all of Rae's things made it to a good home! That has to make you so happy to see Mason making silly faces at you.
BTW, I still wear my mask when I go into stores and plan on it until-- whenever

@mywisecrafts You chose well, nuts for squirrels!

@Cherylndesigns oh yes, please send me warm weather!!!
I wish I had a megaphone to shout at all of the bureaucrats, but I doubt that will get me any farther
than my incessant emails and phone calls. :/

@scrap-genie I hope that this last snow means we are done but there are still a few weeks left in the month, anything goes!

@bcgal00 I hope that you slept well and are not too tired or sore today. I am in awe of how much you got done in such a short amount of time. hugs!

I'm here... and have been up since 5 AM!!! Not sure why I woke up so early and couldn't fall back asleep. Oh, well... my body circadian rhythm always gets messed up when the time change happens. Will take me several days if not weeks to get adjusted to the time change. Enough of that RANT that I go on every time it changes. :eek:o_O:oops: I did manage to get all the clocks changed before I went to bed last night.

Don't know how I missed out on posting yesterday... thought I had. I have been busy trying to play catch up again with more CT work. March is usually a slow month for that but with new designers here, regular CT challenges, more designers hosting challenges... not to mention all the other forums that are doing specials and/or extra challenges this month.... I have been running like mad trying to get/keep caught up! Think I will have set an all-time record for creating LOs by the end of this month. And have learned more techniques that make it easier to achieve results I really like... so those will be in my 'tool box' from now on.

Had a wonderful surprise late yesterday afternoon. The doorbell rang and when I answered it, a man from the church was there to bring a few cans of food, toilet paper and bottles of water to members who are staying more isolated. When I said that I was able to get to the store, he said that this was the church members way of letting us know that we were cared about during this time. My heart was filled with love that they were reaching out to me. Then last evening I watched the Farwell to Kenny Rogers Concert and a Roy Orbison special on the local PBS station. I had seen both of them a few years ago but really enjoyed seeing them again.

@faerywings ... The clock sitting in the flowers was so right for today!!! I know many need the reminder to reset their clocks. Sorry you didn't get to work on the puzzle with Cait... but glad that Tom was able to make to your house safely in spite of the snow and icy roads. Had to LOL over J giving you and the play button the eye to get you to play with him... He is one smart cookie!!

@taxed4ever Wow.. .what a nice surprise to get the package from Rae so quickly! And I am sure you will enjoy using some of Rae's things in the future.

@bcgal00 How sweet of you to pass some of the items on to Trudy. You are really getting down to the last rooms now. Hope the last item sells quickly. Sounds like you have things in hand and plans made for those last few days in the old place. Won't be long now.

Coffee cup is empty and I need to turn up the heat so I can get a shower soon. CYL

Good morning ladies. Had a good sleep. I'm still a bit sluggish but another coffee should get me going again. I'll get started on the basement again soon. This afternoon I'll pack up more of the office and hopefully by mid week can be finished with the basement. D is in charge of packing up the garage as that's his domain, I have no idea what is garbage or to keep. It all looks like junk to me LOL.

Caught up on Star Trek Discovery last night and then next week is the finale. Tonight we'll catch up on TWD.

@faerywings Good for you for organizing. I want to organize too once I get settled in the new place. I want to organize kits and photos on two drives alnd then start fresh with a LR catalog which is a big job but its a bit scattered right now so I'll finally have time to organize properly.

@BrightEyes I'm the same way, the time change wrecks havoc with my system. I'm looking forward to more afternoon light.

I'm getting a coffee and getting on with my day. Maybe later I'll get a chance to scrap but that's only if I get enough packing done beforehand. Have a good day everyone.

Hello lovelies,

Kay @BrightEyes that was so sweet that they reached out to you (even if you're able to get out) it was still very sweet and fills my heart with happiness, too. People helping people - that's what it's all about.

This time change doesn't bother me - it's going back that does. Kay, bummer that you woke up at 5 am. I finally got some room darkening draperies and they're amazing! They're also thermal - same gorgeous microfiber as our French door coverings. They keep the heat in in the winter and the cold out in winter. Boy, is the bedroom dark! I slept until 9:30 this am. Of course, I don't go to bed at a "normal time" like all of you. LOL The cat goes in and out from about 10 pm to 1 am, most nights. Chuck says "just ignore him" - hard to do when he's knocking things over to get my attention. I told you that he goes over and rings the bell that's hanging on my door when he wants to go out. As soon as it stays warm, he'll be out ALL night, but he's confused right now and gets out then gets cold and wants back in after about an hour. Haha He's WAY more high maintenance than a dog (at least at night). Cats don't respond to "go lay down". BWAHAHA It's just temporary.

Rae, @bcgal you'll have plenty of time to get organized. I know you're itching to get in and get that done. If it's any consolation, I'm STILL not totally organized but I'm working on it. Did a little bit more today.

Trudy @taxed4ever I forgot to tell you that I was excited for you to get that box of goodies from Rae. How fun!

Chris @faerywings cute clock in the pretty yellow flowers. Ten more days - yay - it's 65 here right now and looking forward to the 70's coming back in a few days. My chair is waiting for me on the back patio.

I'll check in tomorrow - we're having the family down for dinner - Braden is gone - he's on Spring Break with his girlfriend at a church offsite, Alyssa can't eat - she had her tonsils out last week and is still on liquids/soft diet. She asked for some mashed potatoes, so she'll get them. We invited her bf and Ava's bf to make up for Braden not being here - he eats for 2 or 3.

Hugs to all

Chris @faerywings a super image for spring and springing forward. I'm with Cheryl @Cherylndesigns about not minding going this direction as I also do not sleep/wake early. Being retired, many things happen when they happen so clock doesn't matter for them. But, can't believe that last week I was out around people five days in a row. And I do mask everywhere except eating out. Don't care that I am not required to mask, just plan to keep on at least a while longer. We have sunshine at the moment and the temperature is rising but the snow mostly still here. May get to at least 60 this week.

For those of us who call tomorrow 3/14 (not 14.3), Happy Pi Day! Here's the friends Pi Song link:

Good morning friends. I can't believe that it is already Sunday night...how is that? The weather in Florida has been bad. Wind chills below freezing, lots of rain, lots of clouds. We were under tornado warnings Friday night and Saturday so Syd and I decided that we would postpone our trip to Gainesville. I'm glad that we did. There was a tornado in Ocala on Saturday morning that did some significant damage.

Brian and I went to the Billy Joel concert last night. It was in the 40's and windy by the time the concert was over. Poor guy put a stocking cap on his head and when he got ready to do Piano Man where he plays the harmonica in addition to the piano, he said that his lips were frozen. But, for a guy who will be 73 in May, he killed it!!! Seriously, worth every penny. I had on my winter coat and my own stocking cap. We head back there in two weeks for Garth Brooks and it is supposed to be in the 80's that night.

It was fun to spend the night remembering the way it used to be...those songs were all so meaningful while I was growing up. I'm going to go work on a page and then I'll be back to do personals.
