Welcome to another snowy day in NJ! It's only a few inches again, just enough to make it a PITB. It should be all melted by tomorrow. My mom said something something about snow possibly on Monday but I stopped listening. One storm at a time, please. ;)

How did everyone do on their FiF goals? I did pretty good. I sorted the rest of the old photos and got them boxed up and ready to return to my mom. There were a few more I wanted to scan and a few that I didn't realize I had already scanned, scanned them again. . It was a good idea to put an S on the back of the ones I scanned or I would have had many more extra scans otherwise. My next "project" is to rename them so I can have them semi-sorted in the folders. Right now there are just by decade and it's kind of a mess. (Way more of a mess than "kind of" but I'll be nice to myself for a change HA!!!)

J didn't gain any more weight than last year but she is still chunky. Sam was checking me out and told me to hold off on the heartworm and tick meds. She had some left over of Puppa's and sent them home with Scott last night. That will save me so much $$$$. After the vet, I took J to the ball field right down the street from there. I wanted to see how she would walk not on our street and she did great. There were a couple of other dogs/humans and she was fine, with no barking or pulling. I am going to make an effort to get over there and walk her as much as I can. I will try to get Gary to bring W b/c I don't think I can bring both of them by myself. I miss the good ol' days when I would bring Harley and Ray to the bus stop by myself. They were such good girls on the leash. J is the only one who is a total brat.

Aside from shoveling snow, I have no plans today. I am hoping that most of the snow melts from the driveway on its own.
Other than that, it should be a quiet day.

Have a wonderful day!
:hug2:

@vickyday My cousins are all in the same age range as me and my brother. My uncle bragged nonstop about how wonderful his kids were. My parents aren't like that so we just sat there, feeling pretty crummy about ourselves. Apparently, he is still like that with his g-kids. My mom went to lunch with him and a few of their cousins during the holidays and he took over the entire convo talking about them. I guess I am a little self-conscious when I get too braggy about mine. But as the oldtimers here remember, they were not always "bragging material." Far from it! :giggle4: I am glad and *lucky* that I can laugh about that now.
Thx for letting me brag ♥
WOW!! The LO is wonderful and the kit is perfect for it. And the poncho -- just fab, all of it! What colors are "in" for baby clothes? Sad to say I won't be purchasing any of that stuff for my own :( But I will have grand-rats and granddogs to spoil.

@LSlycord Yipeeeeeee! The kids are all home! Was Syd home in time for dinner? Enjoy the week with them, the timing of the new job worked out perfectly.
So much more exciting news from you-- Syd's trip and the house viewing. I am happy dancing here for you :dance2:

@bcgal00 Good for you for getting a great hike in! Remi must be such good company. I love hearing about how she talks to you.

@BrightEyes ((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))))) I hope that you are finding some relief by now with your arthritis. :( It must have been wonderful having the family with you and it sounds like they took fab care of you too. Good luck at the Dr on Monday. Feel better!! xo

Rae- Please share a video of Remi talking to you, I would love to hear her. And yes please, take a photo of them in the shower together. Cute furbabies!
How did you do with scanning and sorting your photos? Not to be a busybody know-it-all (but I am *wink* )- but you are gonna want to do that before you come home with several weeks' worth of new ones in a couple of months.
BTW, it has been really nice seeing Bailey on your pages recently. She is such a beautiful soul. ♥

@taxed4ever Ugh! The dreaded no coffee before lab work morning. (Psst, can you keep a secret? I still haven't gone for my cholesterol test. Bad Faery....)
I love hearing that you are feeling great -- you look incredible too. I need to bug everyone for their anti-aging secrets. In the last few years, the bags under my eyes have quadrupled in size. I'd never be able to pay for the extra luggage fees if I ever flew again *snicker* :drums:

Oh wow, that trip to the city sounds like so much fun, the boys must be bouncing off the walls!
Noooooo!!! You didn't have to fast? I am mad at your Dr too. here's more #coffee1to make up for it.
That's a bummer that you didn't need to drive SIL but it sounds like the day turned out wonderful anyway. I bet Aunt Betty was thrilled to see you too. The entire day must have been fun chatting and laughing with everyone.
I wish Nancy was here to commiserate with the hockey teams. Every once in a while I see her on FB and she looks like she is loving life. But I miss her here.
How did you do with getting some of your FiF done?
Overboard and Dirty Dancing were two of the movies that I most remember watching over and over again. On Sunday afternoons in college, my roommates and I would all grab bags of chips and blankets and spent the rest of the day in front of the tiny tv we had in the living room. Overboard was one that we always had to recite along with -- Tofuuuuuttttttiiiii hahaha!!!

Vicky -- have a wonderful time at the shower today!! Take lots of pics!

@Nonni F Are we from the same family? :floorlaugh: My family is also very short. My grandma was always a teeny bit taller than me but had severe osteoporosis that by the time I got married, she had shrunk so much that she was shorter than me. I am only 4'11" I take calcium every darn day, I can't afford to shrink like that. :D
I love that photo of your family, lots of cousins!
this is one that I use to describe my relationship with my grandma.

So if food and guilt are your life, can I ask if you make Easter Pie and what you put in it? And will you eat in on a Friday?

Good morning. It's beautiful here. Much cooler today but perfect for walking. @Cherylndesigns I have finally figured out the Apple Watch and the rings and so on. I think I will love tracking things that way. Shaun and Brian and I went for a walk this morning...doubled the walk from yesterday. True confessions...my bloodwork numbers came back and my A1C and my triglycerides were both very bad...and I take medication for both. So, I need to watch my diet and get my exercise going again! Ugh.

Syd got home about 4:00 yesterday. Then she went with Brian and Shaun to take the dogs out while we showed the house. It started raining right before they left so the dogs just got a car ride instead of an adventure somewhere. The guy liked the house and they are putting their house on the market in Minnesota early next week. We will see what happens with that. I really had totally decided that we were not selling the house until Syd's senior year...but if someone makes a good offer without us putting it on the market, then we could sell. Who knows?

Anyway, since I needed to keep the kitchen clean for the house showing, we ordered pizza delivery when everyone was back home. Dogs were thrilled to see Sydney. Especially Hayden who sleeps with her when she comes home. I'm feeling happy at the moment. And it was good to start my morning with a walk...feeling energized too!

Be back for personals shortly.

@faerywings I'll usually throw whatever I have in the pie, but if planning specifically I like ham and spinach. My husband isn't a big spinach fan so I skip it if he plans on eating it and use prosciutto or sometimes sweet sausage. I'm a bad Catholic. I'll eat anything (and everything) on a Friday.

Baby clothes at Walmart.....pukey oranges, dirty reds (more like rust), ugly greens..... however, that being said, there are cuter things on line. I guess I'm old fashioned. I still want the soft pinks, blues, greens, yellows for babies. The colors of everything yesterday seems to be all washed out and dirty.....and weird color combinations!

Sorry you are having to deal with snow! It is chilly here in NC, but the sun is shining after yesterday's drizzle all day. Mark stayed in the house all day except when he went to feed the ex-sil's dogs and his daughter's dogs. The ex lives right down the street from us and we are on good terms. He can be a butt, however!
Hope you don't get any more snow! Is it coming from the north (@Nonni F )?

That's so nice that your son takes walks with you! When we went to Alabama last October I walked with my son on his property where he takes the dogs. It was so nice to have that one on one time! :heartpumppink:

I'm looking for some cute spring clothes to send home to the great nephews and great niece. Also starting my search for some outfits for twin boys! It's so much easier to shop online and ship directly to them...although, I might ship these to me because I miss seeing (and touching) baby clothes.

Ilene is crabbing at me to get to the doc about my headaches and tummy problems, and I guess I really should. But I keep putting it off because I have ALWAYS had headaches! And I've been told there is really nothing you can do about the IBS problems. If I were losing weight, I might be more inclined to be worried or concerned. At this point it is just a nuisance! But, I know I really need to go! I haven't been for a checkup in YEARS!!

Good morning!
Happy Saturday!
Yes, @faerywings , I got my FiF of posting to CT Tracker done and posting to social media! Good for me!
Today I'm just biding my time til I have to leave for the baby shower. Dishes are done. Linens just finished in the dryer, so I will be making the bed in a few. A bit more laundry to dry. I did Mark's laundry on Thursday. He is in the woods currently and already kissed me goodbye "in case he doesn't make it back up to the house before I leave for the shower." Wings are on the menu for supper.
Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm in the mood to start a sweater for me! I found an easy knit no-seams pattern I want to try!

Good morning ladies. Was up in the middle of the night, couldn't sleep, so watched tv and the pre-oscar award theme show by Kelly and Ryan was on. I enjoyed it, they asked questions and showed lots of clips from years past. I also watched Alaska Daily which I really like. We went to costco yesterday with Jen and ended up wandering in there for a few hours and spent more than we ever had before. I just about had a heart attack from shock. D and I always play the game of guessing what the total will be and we were off by $300. WTH??? That was crazy. Prices have skyrocketed there now too. Then came home to package up and freeze food but needed to rearrange food, so ended up cleaning out the two fridges and freezes and the upright freezer. Then I ended up reorganizing the pantry door spice racks. That all took about 3 hrs so when I finished it was getting close to dinner time so I got nothing done that I expected to. Some days go like that.

I think I'll take a drive up the hill to see if the bighorn sheep are around and then run some errands. Then dog park later this afternoon. My book is due at the digi library in a few days so I'd like to take some time to sit and read later today. It's the prequel to a book I previously read so want to finish up the story so I don't have to go on the wait list again. I'm reading "It Starts With Us", the previous book was "It Ends With Us". It's a fast read, so should be able to finish it up. So that'll make 2 books read so far in 2023. What a difference from pre-retirement when I used to read 3-5 books/month. I used to be sitting at my desk, waiting for work to electronically come in so I had a lot of time to read and scrap while I waited. Nowadays I am not tied to a desk so I'm out and about. I never realized how much my schedule would change when I retired.

@faerywings Sounds like a good idea to get J out more often for walks and hopefully G will come along.

@LSlycord Sounds like you will be ok either way, a great offer and sell without a lot of fuss about listing or you'll wait awhile. Good attitude, that way you are not stressed or worried one way or the other. Hopefully you'll be able to get your cholesterol under control.

I'm going to get dressed and head out shortly. It would be fun to see the sheep again but if not, its not much out of my way to check. I haven't been out for a drive for awhile so I'll enjoy it anyway. HAGD everyone.

That's exactly right. But having two kids in college really works better when I'm working. Brian can't do early Social Security for another 2 years. So, if my health (and mind) hold up, I'd really like to work about 3 more years. We will see if I'm saying that in a few weeks. :floorlaugh:

@vickyday Have they tried medication change? My hubs said his got a lot better when he switched to Hadlina and Methotrexate. I know he went thru a few medications until he found the right combination for him. If you've been on medication for quite awhile maybe there is something else to try. I hope you feel better.

Morning ladies… Had a great sleep and never woke up until 7:45 :thankyouspin: sleeping gods!! What a difference it makes when you have a great sleep! Our usual busy running around day today, but we are not going anywhere until after the hockey game. We are playing Detroit today and hoping for a win of course. Then it will be off to the grocery store and we are going to look at a kayak for myself as SIL Linda and I are going to be doing a lot of kayaking on the lake this spring/summer. They are having a good sale on them at Canadian Tire. We will see, it needs to nice and light so that it’s not too difficult to move from storage to the dock in front of SIL’s place.

@faerywings - Sorry that your relationship with your Grandma was not great! I was adored by my Mother’s Mom, but not so much by my Dad’s Mother. She favoured my sister Wendy, who had blonde hair and no freckles. It used to anger my Mother so much that she treated my sister and myself so differently! Oh well I was still pretty young when she passed and my sister Wendy always felt so badly that she would get things from that grandma and Pam and I got nothing. Not her fault of course LOL.
My Finish it Friday was a total bust, nothing got done, nothing got started. I ended up going to the craft store I love so much and picked the items I ordered. The owner shocked me by asking me to do a commission painting for her, she just loves my turtle paintings and wants me to do a huge one to hang in her store. So I guess I will be busy doing that for quite some time! Heather and family are having a fun time at the hotel this weekend, the boys called so excited to show me the room etc. So cute!!

@vickyday - Yes perhaps it is time to go have a checkup. I have totally changed my diet and no longer have tummy issues, but had to give up all things that contain grains. So no pasta, no bread etc. Hope that there is something new out there for you for your headaches! It must be so awful to have those!!

@LSlycord - How nice to have everyone home with you again! Glad that you have got your Apple Watch all figured out! It should help you to those extra steps in! So cute that the dogs were happy to have Sydney home again! Enjoy your time together and I love your great attitude about selling or not selling your house.

@Nonni F - Your Easter Pie sounds yummy, but I have to ask… Is there such a thing as a :pleasantry:“Good Catholic”?? Ha, ha, ha just kidding of course!!

@bcgal00 - I know right?!!! Costco prices are just outrageous now!! Sounds like you should be all stocked up and hopefully won’t have to do another trip there for awhile. Hoping that you have a lovely day to go see the bighorn sheep! Hope you get lots of photo opportunities!! Enjoy your day!

Ok I am going to make Omelettes for brunch and then another coffee before the game starts. Have a great Saturday everyone!:waving1

Did you all remember to flip your clocks ahead? It's nice that the majority of clocks do it on their own these days. Not the coffee pot though but Gary remembered to switch that before he went to bed. It's a shiny, happy Sunday here and allllll that is gonna change by tomorrow. My mom was right (never ignore your mamas LOL) and we are getting more snow tomorrow. The forecast is 4-7" so a little more than yesterday. Everything on the roads/driveway melted by dinner time last night, hopefully, that will be the same for this upcoming storm.
I'd say "Poor Scott" since he is semi-camping at the training center. He has a cabin- either propane or wood stove, not sure which he got assigned to- but also brought a bunch of his car-camping gear. Personally, I would be crying if I had to spend a week in a cabin in the snow but that kid wil be in his element. I know where he got his love of hiking and nature-- but camping in the winter-- that sure as *heck* did not come from me :brrr:

I had a pretty quiet day yesterday and I was happy to get two pages done. They are for an upcoming kit so they aren't in the gallery but hoo-boy- wait until you see this kit when it comes out. Ah-may-zing. I have 4 more rows to finish on the scarf/cowl and I really hope that it looks ok when it is done. It's a lot of yarn to rip out otherwise. One nice thing about this project is that I am now the Queen of Starting New Skeins. #cheer-3 Most patterns I have done before only needed one and I go back to YouTube on the few occasions that I had to switch.

I already started my grocery order and laundry is pretty much caught up. I have some light housework today and need to figure out what to feed my vegan future son-in-law for dinner.

have fun today!

@LSlycord I hope you are enjoying a lazy weekend with your kids ♥ Good for you for getting out there on some walks. Keep it going! If you need any encouragement -- you know who to call. I am sure the Ghostbusters will be glad to help. ;)
JK, you know I am cheering you on all the way! I haven't been posting in the exercise thread that I started last month but I can start up again. I am doing yoga almost every day and would love to have company

*shameless plug* I showed Caitlyn my Standing Forward Fold yesterday and she was impressed. I can get my palms to the floor!!! I am one of the most inflexible people in the world and this is quite an accomplishment.

Got a bit of ice last night! It is 36 now with light rain, so we will have to watch walking into the church this morning!
I'm with you!....NO camping in any kind of weather! I'm not a roughing-it-kind-of-gal!
I'm gonna have to check out the pre-release thread. I never remember to do that when looking for something to scrap!
I started a sweater last night....for myself!

Good Morning!
Quick in and out this morning. Gotta get ready for church.
We got cold enough last night that there is ice here and there, so we will have to be careful walking across the church parking lot this morning! But, the temp is 36 right now with a light rain, so the ice won't be a threat for long.
The baby shower was so nice yesterday. They loved the knitted items and Tyler said he might have to sleep under the plushy soft blanket! I told him it was big enough for him to snuggle with the baby! Sarai is looking so cute with the little basketball bump. She is about your size, @faerywings .
I didn't do a whole lot yesterday after I got back home at around 4:30. I picked up a few groceries on the way home because I HAD to HAVE more French vanilla coffee creamer! ;). I worked on an AJ type of page using Vicki Robinson's Color Play from February, Art Expressions 06. And then I started working on a sweater for myself. The pattern calls for bulky/chunky yarn, so I am double-stranding the worsted weight yarn I am using. I hope it works! We shall see! I may be ripping it all out, Chris! ;). I will see how the gauge looks before I cut the yarn.
OK, that's it for me. Have a great day!

Jaida was jumping at me -- I was late for her b-fast. :runningdog:

Linda- any news from the real estate agent?
I bet the dogs were *very* happy to see the family all together.
I was really lucky to have a close relationship with my other Grandma to even out the sting from the other side. How "funny" that you only have no pictures of you with your dad's mom. She doesn't sound like a very pleasant person to be around.
We joke that the *only* photo I have of my dad's mom smiling is at my wedding. No idea what got into her that day, maybe she thought she got rid of me. :rotfl:

@Nonni F That is sacrilege!! Spinach in Easter Pie??? :giggle4: My mom's family's "recipe" is ham, bologna, pepperoni, and ricotta. My dad's side was a heavier pizza gaina and she made the wheat pie too. So many old recipes are "lost" but I was thrilled to find her taralli recipe last Christmas and made them for my dad. Ask these poor ladies here how I went on and on when I found it hahaha!
I haven't considered myself Catholic is years and years so I don't; do the no meat either. But like clockwork, my brother calls/emails/texts me to every year on Ash Wed/Good Friday as a reminder. hehe

@vickyday what, no cute baby colors in the clothes? Both of my babies wore Harley Davidson stuff but they also had "baby" clothes, the snuggly stuff, YKWIM? I don't think I would like those color combinations for any age range either
Yay for that one-on-one with your kids. ♥
I hope that you go to the Dr at some point soon. My mom was *terrible* about going to Drs- until she almost died and now has to see all sorts of them all of the time :(
WTG on FiF!!

Linda, I get that, I like looking at baby clothes too and I wish that I knew someone who was having one. Enjoy shopping for the twins! When are they due?

@bcgal00 Alaska Daily keeps popping on on my recommendations, do you think I would like it? It's about a small-town newspaper, IIRC?
*gulps* That's a lot of money for food, but hopefully this means you are well-stocked for months. I hear ya on the prices of everything too. It bites. Good job on getting the freezers/fridges/pantry all cleaned out.
You are always hiking and with the dogs, so I bet you have lost weight and gained energy since you retired. Did you get more pictures of the sheep?

Linda!!! :D You got this! You are going to kick butt with the new job. (at least for a few weeks) hahaha!!

@taxed4ever That is so exciting -- kayaking with SIL Linda! I guess I didn't realize that she is lakefront and has a dock, I would be down there all of the time. When it is warm, of course. LOL Have you done that before? Is it hard? I am so excited for you!
Even more excited that you are doing a painting for the store owner! Nice that you got a break with Sonic -- a light palate cleanser before you go back to turtles. LOL

Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

Good morning ladies. I slept until 7:30 this morning. How I love sleeping at night when my kids are both here. Sydney is now up and on the road to a friends house in Satellite Beach. About 12 of their friend group have headed down there for a couple of days to enjoy the beach for spring break. It is a 2 1/2 hour drive, all on I-95 which is the craziest interstate in the world (IMO). She is a good driver (although she drives too fast...I did too at that age) but this will be her longest solo drive ever. She is staying tonight and tomorrow night and will come home on Tuesday. How did parents do it when there were no cell phones?

Tomorrow is cleaning lady day. But since we had the house showing on Friday night, I don't have much cleaning to do. :floorlaugh: Yep...I'm pretty casual on whether or not the house sells. If it is meant to be, it will. Otherwise, it won't. I know...that's not my usual reaction...finally might be maturing!

@faerywings the dogs were thrilled to see Sydney. Hayden looked at me when Syd carried her stuff to the car this morning like "Mom she is leaving us again." Twins are due on May 30...that is actually the date for the C-section. Wavey was early so they have planned the C-section at 39 weeks. We will see... I think I will go home for Memorial Day weekend and I bet I have twins to hold when I get there.

@vickyday be careful on the ice this morning. Of course they loved your baby blanket yesterday. Your gift was just precious! And, you need to go to the doctor. Maybe they have something now that would help with the headaches and stomach issues. It's worth a try.

@taxed4ever how exciting about the commissioned painting for the store. You know how much I love your sea turtle paintings! And how exciting about the kayak! Can't wait for you to have spring weather.

@bcgal00 love your sheep! I don't blame you, I'd drive out of the way to see them too! And that Costco bill...eek! We need to make another Costco run this week but I know it will be so darned expensive and I hate that!

@Nonni F I think I may try to make one of those pies...between you and @faerywings, you are making me hungry. Now I'm going out for a drive.

I'm going to go get a walk in. I'll be back later.

Morning everyone… It is a foggy morning but once the fog lifts its looks like it might be a sunny day! Lord knows that could change in a few hours lol. DH and I went to look at the kayaks that they had at Canadian Tire and we decided that the one they had on sale was not going to be the one to buy. Of course the one we liked was more expensive, but it was a bit larger and more sturdy, so DH could use it if we decided to out together on the lake. I would use SIL Linda’s and he could use this one that we want to buy. It will have to wait for a little while, we have too many other expenses right now. But at least we know which one we want to purchase. Who knows maybe it will come on sale before then. Today is cleaning day and laundry :vacuuming::laundry: . I will have to take a look at the pre-releases and see what gorgeousness is there to inspire me. Then I really need to get started on the painting and get SIL Linda’s birthday card made. It never ends and there are not enough hours in the day:confused:. However there would be more time if I would stop procrastinating and get off my butt and just get things done right???

@faerywings - Sorry to hear that you will be getting more snow in your area! Hoping that today is a lovely one and you get to see some sunshine! Ohhh Scott will be in his happy place! I agree that I would not want to be camping in the cold and snow, but I bet he loves it!! Yes SIL Linda lives at the bottom of the hill in a complex that has their own dock. Many of the residents are quite elderly so not many use the dock, but she is allowed to keep her kayak/kayaks down there, but they will be stored in her large crawl space for the winter months. It will be so nice to not have to transport it back and forth from our place. I am hoping that if DH enjoys Kayaking that he will want one for himself , we will see. I have Kayaked a few times, but on the ocean, not fresh water, but I think it will be very nice and its great core exercise too.

@LSlycord - Thanks for loving my turtle paintings :lovey3:. I was getting tired of doing them, but looking forward to this one as it’s been quite a while since I have painted one. Hope I still remember how to do it!
How nice to have the great sleep! Knowing that your family are all together under one roof must have been the reason!! Hope that Sydney has a great time with her friends, but you will be happy to see back with you and off the crazy highway! Yes I am getting anxious for the warmer weather to arrive and get out on the lake, sure wish it would hurry up LOL.

@vickyday - It sounds like the baby shower was great! Of course they loved your knitted items!! They were beautiful and made with love!! Be careful going to church this morning, we sure don’t want to hear of any of you slipping and falling on the ice.

Well it’s time to get off of the iPad and get busy with my day! If the weather holds out perhaps I can convince my DH to get out for a hike somewhere. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone! :waving1

Good morning ladies. I was awake off and on and then slept in a bit. With the time change, it is already mid morning so time to get dressed and get on with my day. I have house chores, dog park, groceries and drugstore on the list today. Yes, after our small fortunate at costco on Friday I am already back to the store for groceries...ugh. Remi had an exciting day yesterday. During our hike yesterday she came across a deer femur bone and was flipping it around and running with it, so excited. She started racing towards the car, wanting to bring it with her. I was able to distract her away from it with throwing sticks. First time I've seen that on our hikes.

Watched the new Netflix Luther movie...loved it.

@faerywings I like Alaska Daily b/c I like Hilary Swank and enjoy the Alaska setting they are in. The cast is good and although not action packed, it keeps my interest.

@taxed4ever That's exciting, thinking about getting a kayak. If my back was buggered I would love to do that. I used to when I was a kid.

I need to get moving and loosen up my back, get out of this chair. HAGD everyone.
