Last day of June, for real?!
Well, Ok then. Hit me up with those lazy hazy days of summer, please? :pray2:

*tap, tap, tap*

I am waiting... No lazy days for me? Bummer!

Great and wonderful and "its about darn time" news from the kids' dr! They are off all abx except one for the summer. As long as they remain close to symptom free and blood work comes back as it is expected, we don't go back until October.
Please-- no more tick bites either!

The kids were thrilled, especially Cait knowing that she is off of Mepron which is a liquid ant-malarial Rx that looks exactly like yellow latex paint. :D

Today we are off to my MIL's annual Cousin Reunion. Its at her cousin's lakefront home about 3 miles up from us. Its just gorgeous there. I don't know if Gary is coming but its only a quick drive home. He usually tries to stop by for an hour and then my IL's drop me off on their way home. The fireworks nearby are tonight so if I am still there, it will be nice to see them over the lake.

I have to make my oreo pudding mush for a dessert and I have to stop scratching the poison ivy I got when weeding at MIL's. I was so darn careful and I didn't see any in the area I was working in, but my arms and ankle are covered in it. :hurt:

It is going to be a hit day here in NJ, and looks to be brutal elsewhere. Hope all of you stay cool and hydrated!

Personals from Friday:

Linda S- have I ever told you how I love to see your smiling face in here? I hope that life is starting to calm down a teeny bit for you and you can spend more time here. Selfish, I know, but its true!
I have 25 more posts to go, and you know I will use every last free minute to get to it today. Even if I have to post obnoxiously to myself.

storms yesterday MMG & I missed them as we travelled. came home through massive amounts of storm damage, but minimal at our house. Worse isno internet, except through my 3G slow connection.

I had to post that one quick-- Gary needed me for something, plus I got in one more post hahahah!!!

Linda S- they both "forgot" their reading. argh!

Trudy- hope you had a wonderful day yesterday and that the weather holds out nice for Canada Day for you.

Phyllis- that is simply insane..... nothing wrong??!! I am totally not surprised, but OMG- what are you supposed to do in the meantime? I can't blame you one bit for the bad attitude, I get that way with much less than that. Hang in there and feel better.

Kristy- glad you are feeling somewhat better, but don't push yourself! My fingers are crossed that no one else gets sick.

Gentle hugs to you Eva and thank you for the warning. They should put that on the labels of all cleaning solutions. WARNING: Cleaning houses may be dangerous to your health.
Hope you back gets itself un-kinked.

Heather- good luck to your DD. So many of Scott's friends can't find any summer work in our town.

Laurie- thinking of you and your fur-baby.

Maureen- how are you doing? e miss you!

To everyone -- have a wonderful and relaxing day! If you need a bit of mental boost, read the link that Heather popsted here:this is so beautiful

hiya. me, in a better mood. i've been staying close to home and in air-conditioning. i can't enjoy 97 degrees, in any shape, form or location. hubby is home for the weekend, out of his air-conditioned office, complaining that this morning it is 'TOO COLD" in the house. well, here's the thing. when you have one window AC unit, and you want it to keep the entire first floor cool when it gets to be 97 outside, it has to be about 70 degrees inside in the early morning, or it will climb into the 80s (inside) by the afternoon. so, hubby. tough luck. or buy me whole house AC.

off to look for some sun-block curtains for the family room double boors today. i've been so classy and have tacked up a SHEET to keep the blazing afternoon sun out of the house and off the heat-absorbing tile right inside the door for the last few days. fashion emergency. taste disaster. but what the heck. it got the job done. but it occurred to me that having a curtain available there would be a good idea, even in the winter, when the tile becomes a COLD conductor.

Chris, take care with the poison ivy. have you had it before? i had it once in my whole life a few years ago. it lasted for over 6 weeks and i had it everywhere except my face. an awful experience. take your Aveeno baths and try not to scratch! you always have such nice places to go. i'd give anything for a great family get-together, but no one ever has them anymore. i guess i could, but it's so much work, and i always end up doing everything myself. glad to hear about the kids' being off some of the meds. the malaria stuff sounds hideous!

well, hope everyone is going to have just the sort of weekend they wish for. and that you have a good way to get out of the heat, if you're being plagued with it. i say everyone go outside and blow toward Trudy's house. maybe we can even this thing out a little by giving her some! :horn:

Good morning ladies! I can't believe how busy this place is this morning!!

Chris...Yippee...yippee...yippee...:high5::high5: So excited about the news on Scott and Cait! Sorry about the poison ivy. But it sounds like you have a fun day ahead. And thanks for that special little message.

Laurie, glad that you and hubby got out of the house...I'm sure it's lonely without the dog!

Phylis, glad that you feel better. And I'm with you...can't let the house get too hot through the day. Hubbies just have to deal!

Happy Saturday ladies!! Guess what?? It's :rain: again today!! Surprise, Surprise!! I am getting so sick of this weather!!!!!! Well they keep telling us that July and August are going to be hot, hot, hot!! So bring it on already! Just 2 weeks and my daughter arrives home for a whole month! I am so excited to see her again! We already have lots planned for her visit, so I sure hope the weather cooperates with us!

Chris - Wow, that is awesome news about the kids Dr. visit!! That yellow stuff that Cait was on sounds really grouse! :puke: ( I love that smiley!) That's awful that you got poison ivy while doing your favorite thing for your MIL!! Hope it clears up soon for you! Enjoy your day at the Cousin reunion, have fun at the Lake!!

Laurie - Hope the storms die down for you! Thinking of you and your hubby missing your furry friend

Phylis - Its nice to hear that your mood has improved!! I hope that your face is feeling better today! WTH?? Why can't your doctor figure out what is going on with the nose bleeds?? Thanks for trying to send the warmer weather my way! I sure could use it! Although I'm sure that once it finally arrives, I'll be bitching about how hot it is :becky: We are never really happy you know!! Tell your hubby to suck it up, or put on a sweater LOL!! I'm mean I know! Hope you find some nice looking curtains! Enjoy your day!!

LindaS - So happy to see your smiling face here again, you just brighten up the whole place!!

Kristy - I hope your throat is feeling much better today and that the kids don't get it!!

Eva - Take care of your poor back!

Well we are off to the nursery this morning to find a new climbing rose bush, one of mine is not producing any flowers this year and it has always struggled, so its getting the heave ho!! Lots of other errands to do also, so hopefully I will find some time to get back in here today. Enjoy your Saturday everyone!

Hot, hot, hot here! It's running mid to upper 90's and that is supposed to continue all week! Do we have a melting smiley? Oh Trudy, if only you and I could trade spots for a few days!

Sydney was in soccer camp last week so the local semi-pro team invited all of the kids last night. No one but Sydney was very excited to go...but we did! Looking forward to a short week although would perfer the 4th be on Monday or Friday. Just sayin...

Trudy, so exciting that your daughter will be there for a month's visit. I can't imagine how excited you must be! Ok...well, back to the gallery. I'll check in again later!

Good morning, and happy Sunday!

I am hoping that everyone has nice weather today, warm and sunny but not too hot or humid. Cool breezes and a few clouds here and there to break up the sunshine. Sounds good, right?
I should add in no wildfires, flooding, and no more downed power lines.

What a mess it is everywhere. :(

Thankfully it is just HOT here but that is deal-able.

Of course my arms feel like they are burning from the poison ivy. I am covered in blisters from my elbows to my wrists and my ankles are bad too. I was talking to my IL's yesterday and we think there must be some cross-breed vine in their yard, b/c neither of them have seen poison ivy in that area either. MIL never gets poison ivy and she has gotten a rash in there too. Hopefully, I won't get too many more new blisters.
I might just have to dose up on benadryl later on and take a nap. :-?

Phyllis- yeah, I get PI a lot, used to get it really badly. It is miserable stuff. I am the one who is always cold in my house, but I have no choice but to get a blanket heh.
Hope that you were able to get some curtains, but if a sheet works, go for it. Love your idea of visiting Trudy!

The BBQ was ok- Gary didn't go and it is his side of the family. BIL/SIL and my nieces weren't there either, so that left me and my kids somewhat alone. But its all good, the view was nice, and it was a change of scenery from my house. It works for me.

Linda S-
Seriously awesome news about my kids, just praying no more tick bites!

Trudy- you must be counting the days and hours till DD comes home!!!!!!! I would gladly send you some weather and sun- my poor plants are wilting, and we have a well, so I try to not water from the hose too much, so your rain would be a good balance here.
Hope you had a good time wandering in the nursery and found a perfect plant.

love to you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hiya. to AC or NOT to AC. THAT is the question. well, the AC won. it got down to 67 last night, so i was up in the middle of the night opening windows. now the house is starting to heat up beyond where i can catch up to it with my window unit, so, here i go, closing all the windows and pulling the curtains and blinds. so bizarre to have to structure your day around curtains, blinds and fans.... :frusty:

Laurie, i hope all's OK in your neighborhood. i heard that there will be people without power for a week in some areas! hopefully you've got electricity!

Trudy, sounds like a happy time on offer with your daughter! have a ball! i think i had a nightmare about my former daughter last night. i remember it being very angry on my end.

Linda, your schedule makes me SOOO tired! i don't know how you do it. hat's off to moms like you!

Kristy, are you healthy again? hope everyone is feeling fine, and all at the same time!

Chris, hope the PI stays put and doesn't spread anywhere else. Benadryl used to have a gel PI treatment that worked well for me and felt good. i think some other company bought it and it's not the Benadryl brand anymore. we kind of lucked out with the temps yesterday. it never made it into the 90s (though they're coming back today.) hopefully THAT is the day i'm sending your way today.

have a cool and relaxing day!

phylis

Happy Canada Day ! to all of my Canadian friends!! :canada: Hope you all enjoy the big day!
Did all of my running around yesterday and got caught in a really big downpour at the nursery! Good thing I had my umbrella with me. Got a couple of really beautiful rose bushes and so will be planting those today. You should have seen us, we were the only two idiots out there in the :rain: trying to decide which color of roses were wanted. So I guess weather permitting, we should get those planted today.

Chris - Sure hope that your arms and feet feel better today! How irritating it must be!! Glad you had a nice time at your BBQ, too bad Gary did not join you! Watching the news and see how scorching hot:flame: everyone else seems to be right now, guess I should not complain about our wettest June ever!! Flooding in many areas, but not here for some reason this part of the Valley seems to get less
rain than others, so we are fortunate that way!

LindaS - Pack your bags and come for a visit, you can enjoy the cooler temps and get some rest! Sounds like with your busy schedule you could use the time off!! Hope you can stay cool today ! Yes I am very excited to see my girl again!! I miss her very much! But she is happy where she is so that's all that matters right?

Have a great day everyone! Happy 145th Birthday Canada!! :canada:

Hey Phylis  we posted at the same time. Hope you get your house cooled off today! Thinking of you today as we are still cool and damp here again today :mmph:

Kristy - glad that you are better today and hooray that no one else got sick!!

To Trudy and all Canadians Happy Canada Day!

I do have electric, and internet now- am going to try to get caught up without going into work - if all else fails, I will go in! Hot here today- well only 93!

Happy Canada Day dear Canadian friends...with a special shout out to Trudy!!! :canada:

Phylis, I totally get what you are saying with shutting the blinds and windows!

Chris, the poison ivy is blistering now! Oh no...:(

Laurie glad that you have electric and internet back!

And Kristy, glad that you are feeling well and that there are no other sickies..
