Happy first weekend in June! And Houston, we have sunshine! Mostly sunny and 72* both days. We might get rain tomorrow afternoon, but I can deal with some sunshine. Yesterday was nice, and when I went to bed, I left the window open a crack, not realizing that it was dropping into the upper 40's. When I woke up I was freezing- it was 48*. brrr!!!

I had a hard time getting out of bed, between being cold and exhausted. I didn't have a very good day yesterday. I was a mess after I posted here. The whole thing with Caitlyn had me upset and then Ravyn was holding her neck stiffly. Last time that happened to her, I had to bring her to the vet for a cortisone shot and an Rx for anti-inflammatories. We had some Rimadyl left over after Jaida's surgery so I have her one of them which seemed to help. Then I remembered that Caitlyn's car needed to go in the shop and it just flipped me out. I cried for about 10 minutes, pulled my act together and moved on, but darn it is insanely exhausting.

Kohl's sucked. There was nothing that I needed and no good sales. I found a T-shirt that I was going to get for my brother's b-day next week but when I got up to the register, the codes that I had printed from the email weren't the right ones. And instead of trying to help, since I had the email right there on my phone, the cashier scolded me for not reading it. I told her I didn't want the t-shirt and walked out.
We went over to TJ MAXX next door since Cait called me in a panic that none of her shorts fit her anymore (another issue that puts my stomach in knots) and I found something nicer for my brother- a chicken drumstick griller and some cool BBQ sauce and 2 pairs of shorts for Cait. Whew!

After all of that, I was so tired. My mom was complaining about the new guardrail that is being put in on her street. That has been a year long ordeal with her- the town straightened out the curve on her road for safety and they are repaving/putting in trees and guardrails. the town "promised her one kind of guard rail and it isn't what they are installing which is making her aggravated. So I had to hear all about that- just like I am making you do, haha!!!
Then she has been obsessively looking at her property value on Zillow and it went down $1K while her neighbors went up $2K and she is convinced that it is b/c they picture of her house has the guard rail in it. :frusty: I try to listen without getting snarky- but there are times that I struggle. All of the shit that I deal with and she is flipping out over a guard rail. :gaah: But we are all good. She gets me.

Today is what we now call "FP" since I don't want my mom to know that I go to the Food Pantry. After that, I have to take it easy-ish. I need to get my head together and regain some semblance of balance. I try... and fail, and try again... :D

Thanks as always for listening to me, you have no idea how much it all helps.

have a wonderful and joy-filled day!

Nancy- Isn't it funny how we here in NJ are thrilled to have 2 days of sunshine? LOL It is bizarre for this time of year. We should be having much more sun that this. Good for you and Luther to have a nice walk, I really should try to get the dogs out too. Might. t be good for all of us.
What a nice time you must have had eating outside with your girlfriends.

Trudy- did the sun ever come out yesterday? Hope that it did. When I scrap, I like to finish it all in one sitting because if I get up, I forget what it was that I was trying to do. Ha!! When I can't get any mojo going or I hate everything that I have scrapped it gets too much fo rmy brain. Sitting too long hurts so I get what you are going through too.

Rae- I really can't believe that you are so sick, this sounds almost as bad as the cold/flu that you had around the holidays. Try to rest and snuggle with Taz and feel better!

Morning ladies... DH has gone to get his blood work done this morning, hopefully he won't have to wait too long to get in. The coffee pot is all ready to go when I hear the garage door open I will turn it on for him. Hope its not too long, because I will be very ready for my morning coffee also :becky: Today we are off to Costco and a few other stores to see what we can get in the way of summer clothing etc. Although the weather is in no way convincing me that it is summer yet :gaah: I think that we are going to be skipping the summer this year and just head right back into fall!! Warm up already!!

Chris - Vent away my friend!! You know that we are all here for you and most of us can't believe all the S**t that you go through and still you remain pretty upbeat and positive! sweetie, I hope that today will bring you some warmth and much needed sunshine to brighten your day a bit! Hang in there please!!

. Sorry you had to deal with a very rude cashier at Kohls!! Good for you for not getting the dam t-Shirt!! No we did not get much sun at all yesterday, the odd patch of blue sky and then big black clouds would move in and it would pour rain. Although by the time DH came home it was out long enough for us to sit out on the upper front deck and soak up a bit of the warmth for about an hour.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful Saturday, I will try to pop in later to catch up with everyone else. Off to the gallery to see whats been created overnight.

good morning - whew I am late getting here. It was raining in the morning when I came down for breakfast but it started to clear so my DH and I got Luther out and went to this nice park. It was pretty fun as I watched Luther practically pull my DH in to the lake (well pond) chasing geese but he managed to stop about an inch from the water. Luther of course did not stop but the water is pretty shallow and the geese got away but really honked at him. Made me smile. And my knee is amazingly better. I was hugely skeptical of this gel making a difference but knock on wood - it has really helped. Took Luther to the vet to get one vaccine so he can still go to the Barker Lounge and ended up doing his annual blood work. This am got back the results and his thyroid levels are low and he might be getting a UCI. Poor guy. I will go in next Friday and he will have retests. If it is not one thing it is another. Got some scrapping done while watching baseball today will be the same. Then this evening it will be game three of the Stanley Cup Final and this one will be the first ever in Nashville.

Chris I am so sorry you day went so horribly wrong! That sucks about Cait and her not getting the job! And then everything it just snowballs sometimes. Glad you have your perspective back. You are a strong woman. Bet you find some awesome stuff at the FP. Hope you get lots of sun!

Trudy thanks for asking about my knee - it is doing amazingly well. Hope you DH's blood work come out perfect. Have fun shopping at least I hope you find what you are looking for! Glad you got some time to enjoy late afternoon sun.

Rae hope you get your internet up and running. Don't over work and ended up sicker. Hopefully Darrell will not over do either. Enjoy the trailer time with Taz.

Have a great day all!

Happy Sunny Sunday!!!! Already I am seeing blue sky at 7.30 am. It is chilly again, but as long as I see the sun, it is all good. Scott and Leah are camping with some friends and I hope that they didn't freeze too much overnight. One time I went camping with my BF at the time and a couple of other people, and it snowed. I was so cold, I woke up crying. It was brutal. No matter how cold it was last night, at least it didn't snow.

Cait and I were so funny when we got home from the FP. They get donations from some companies and supermarkets and we got some really good items. 4 bars of dark chocolate made Caitlyn very excited. A huge can of coffee was a bonus for Gary. They also had a leg cramp/restless leg spray so we grabbed that for him and he used it last night.

I also was able to get outside and clear out a few more feet of the side of the lawn. There are so many dandelions and weeds, but it is looking better every day I work on it. I have a few more feet to do today.

Scott and Leah took Jaida to the dog park and she had a lot of fun running with the other dogs. She came home and plopped down for the rest of the afternoon.

If you haven't started watching Kimmy Schmidt on Netflix, you have too. This season is hysterical. If you watched 30 Rock you will see some overlap with it too. I would *love* to see Jack Donnegy (sp??) show up. :D

Enjoy your Sunday and I hope that you all get to relax a bit today too.
xoxo

Trudy- you are a good wife to wait for your coffee until your hubs got home. I couldn't/wouldn't do that. LOL
Did you have any luck with getting some summer clothes? It feels the same here too and it doesn't help that my house stays cold. It is colder in here than out in the sun, until the weather gets hot and humid. Then it will get warm inside.

I have such good images of you and your Gary sitting up on your deck with a glass of wine in hand. I hope that it how it was, so don't tell me if it wasn't haha!!
Cait's car is going to be another couple of hundred dollars. It really stinks but what can you do? I am glad we have it in the shop while we still have my old Saturn as a backup.

Nancy- that is great news about the gel helping your knee so much. What a relief. Sorry to hear that Luther is needing some more trips to the vet. Do they know why his thyroid is low? Yup, it is *always* something!
Bet the game was very exciting last night for the Nashville fans.

HAGD!!

It is morning and the sun was shining and then the clouds came and now it is mostly cloudy. It is a sad day in England again. I was watching the Predators demolish the Penguins 5-1 as the reports came in from London. It continues to demand we stay vigilant and not give in to fear. My day was great - got lots of scrapping done. Finished my Florida book. Now have to go back and spell check and proof read then upload the photos. Started my PhotoInspired Blue Apron project. This will be fun! It was great watching the hockey game. Means at least 2 more games. Today we took Luther to another local park. It was fun and my knee did pretty well again so happy. Now today is just fun and relax.

Chris so glad yesterday was so much better. Sorry about the car. They can be such a pain. Luther has to go in for another thyroid test so maybe that will give some clues as to why it is low. Luckily hypothyroid (at least in humans) is much easier to treat than hyperthyroid. Glad that Jaida had a good run at the dog park. How fun that they are camping. I loved camping when I was younger.

Trudy hope the shopping went well! I think we are all waiting for the summer to arrive!

Have a great day all!

Good morning ladies. We went into town yesterday and got Comcast upgraded for the summer and got groceries. I slept on the drive back and then after a coffee was able to drag myself outside to clean up the yard with Darrell. It took awhile for Darrell to get the internet running last night but it's working now. For some reason the phone hasn't come on but we'll figure that out next wkend. I laid on the couch all evening, too tired to go online. I enjoyed watching almost the whole season of 12 Monkeys. Just have 2 episodes left to watch. We're heading home in a few minutes, as Jen needs to borrow the truck to help Bailey move into her boyfriends place. Not an ideal situation as he's not a healthy influence on her but nothing we can do. At least she will be living fairly close to us so hopefully we will see her more often.

I'd better get off my tablet and get dressed now. Hubs is ready and we need to get home. Will check in later when I'm home.

I'm back (and still awake LOL). I'm drinking coffee and popping Advil to keep going. The brain fog is full blown and I just have to laugh at myself. I went to the drugstore to get my face cream b/c a sale is on today. So I double check that I have switched wallets in my purse, putting back my wallet with all my Canadian stuff and drivers license. So I get my cream and go to pay only to discover that yes I have the wallet and DL but no bank card, credit card or money LOL. So off I go back home to get what I need and then back to pay. Good thing it wasn't too far. The brain fog worked in my favor though b/c at the store I saw a 5x points for the cream so told the girl but we saw that it didn't piggy back the original promotion. I insisted the sticker said 5x so she got her boss to come over and apply that too to my acct. When it was all done we started laughing b/c she saw that the coupon expired a few days ago which is why it didn't apply it when ringing up my sale. I told her I was sick and a bit fuzzy otherwise I'm sure I would have seen the rather large print that showed the date LOL. So I got lots of points today at Shoppers. Plus I found out I get 20% off every Thurs and an extra $10 coupon if I shop first or last Thurs of the month. Their seniors discount starts at 55. Yay. More saving. There are at least a few benefits to getting old LOL.

Chris - hugs my friend. You are so strong and look at life with such humor but you deserve to let out the frustrations and release the bad feelings or they'll just fester inside you. Sucky Kohls service (I agree too b/c I've had some bad experiences with them) but at least you found some great items elsewhere.

Nancy - if your blueapron project turns out anything like your hockey pages...it's going to be a treat to see the pages.

Sharon - hope the back feels better soon.

I'm getting a bit of work done but not much b/c I'm going to go lay down and watch some shows. I won't be on the computer much tonight, just going to take it easy and get to bed early. Fingers crossed I wake up feeling a bit better tomorrow.
