HelloOOOOO and happy Weekend!
So strange that I wrote yesterday that we needed the : bliss : smilie back but had the :'s around it, it didn't show up. So strange. But yes, we still need him back, he was very happy and cute.

Yesterday was my birthday and it was nice. Nothing exciting but nice. My parents came up and my mom did not look good. She was lightheaded and very unsteady on her feet. I guilt-tripped her that for my birthday, I wanted her to call the Dr. She started a new Rx last week but didn't think it was important to let him know that she was feeling poorly on it. I was worried another but frustrated that she would rather make excuses than get on the phone.
But it was good to see them. The hardest thing is that one thing that I *really* wanted for my b-day is to give my mom a hug. I had dreamed about it a few nights ago and it has stuck with me. I am a hugger, come from a family of huggers, my friends are huggers. I haven't hugged anyone other than my immediate family and Leah since March. I know you are all ion the same boat too and it really is sad!

I started to scrap a page for a July Challenge and then we ordered Chinese food for dinner. My mom got my a new add-on deck on Cards Against Humanity so we had a crazy game of that after dinner. And yes, Caitlyn screened out the "bad" cards earlier. :p

Today I am off to the FP and then work on food shopping. I tried that yesterday and OMG-- it deleted one of my orders then added another date. My computer locked up so I tried a new browser and everything was gone!
I would like to finish the LO while it is still semi-fresh in my head.

Hope you all have a fab day!! ::grouphug

Cheryl--I wake up early cuz my body decides that it is too stiff to stay in bed anymore. Then by 8 pm, I am toast and in bed!! :D

Kay- I hear ya. This whole nothing to do every day is getting old. I have been making myself shut my computer down rather than sleep so I don't get into the "let me look up one thing" and then an hour later I am staring at Twitter. Thank you for a good reminder that some digi-housecleaning needs to be done here too. I keep saying I am going to do that but then...an hour later I am staring at Twitter.
I am so worried about the states that have the surges. And of course, there is the question for those who are declining or stabilized. What happens when you are surrounded by states that aren't?

Trudy- it is so weird, usually by my birthday I am so *done* with the birthdays/anniversaries/family celebrations. This year it is all--flat--. Just another day.
But thank you for the b-day wishes!!!
There is no photo (using Chrome) of you. :( I will look again when I am back to Firefox. I think that it is a very good idea to have a nice bright, easy to find pack for hiking. *G* Scott uses a GPS app that uses words to show a 9x9 grid. The kids were moving through the house and reading out their locations. if you want, I can find out the name of it from him.

hahaha! Everybody is cross-posting :)

Nancy- Awww the baby birds have left. So proud of them!!! I am surprised that you were able to watch Pence and not pull your hair out. Man, he is smarmy. And a liar. I haven't had a chance to read Murphy's school plan. We are still waiting to see what Ramapo is doing for Grad school.
Do you have plans this weekend, hope the t-storms don't hit where you are!

Felis- thanks for the cake, it is so cute! I am sure that this year will be a good one. (If I say it enough it will be true!)
I am sorry that you were overwhelmed and I can relate to that. I also like to clean/weed - I put on some headphones and zone out for a while. It takes me longer too, but it is what it is!

Hugs!!

good morning - yesterday the NHL had their lottery to find out which team would have the first draft choice. The Devils had a 7.5% chance but in the end they will draft #7. They should get a really good player. However the lottery determined that one of the play in teams will get the number one draft choice. So no one still knows which team will pick first. Our town has closed a couple of streets again so there can be outdoor dining. Today's weather is not great so hope it does not ruin dinners. Not much else going on. Luther did not want to go late so I left him home. Not much else going on. I will try to get a walk in between the storms we are expecting this afternoon and evening.

Chris glad you had a happy birthday! How nice to have your parents come up. Sorry your mom scared you but I guess in retrospect it is good because now you saw and can make sure she calls her doctor. I did listen to Pence and I just wanted to see just how far he would go and it was pretty far! To not say wear masks is mind boggling! I would like to know the app that Scott uses for GPS.

Kay how is your cough doing. You have not mentioned lately so I am hoping that the new meds are working and you can sleep all night.

Trudy hope you are having a ground hog nice day without too many chores and errands to run.

Felis and Jean waving and hope all is well

Morning, all... Up early and dressed. DSon-in-law#3 is here now to spray the weeds and trim back a couple of bushes that have gone crazy and are blocking 1/2 of the front window. He wants to get it done early enough in day before the heat gets too much. We are in the 90's for the next week at least.

DD#1 and I will be going in for our eye checks early this afternoon. I will get to see their new place as I will drive over to her house and she will drive us down to DSiL#1's place. I haven't been there since they moved in 2 months ago. Will be wearing a mask and doing the distancing.

Nancy, my cough is almost gone, thank heavens. It pops up if my reflux does - usually from not eating on time. Think that the leftover effects from the BP meds is finally gone. But, I have to LOL as my throat sounds scratchy if I talk very long... guess that is because I don't have people here to talk to. Maybe I need to play some of favorite songs and sing along to give the voice a workout each day....

Chris, glad you had a good birthday. Hope you talked your Mom into calling her doc about the changes in her since she went on the new meds.

I hear DSiL calling me... gotta run.

Morning ladies... I gotta make this quick as I need to get dressed and ready to head out to the Butchart Gardens for Sister's birthday. It is cloudy and few patches of blue sky but the forecast for Victoria is mostly sunny so I will keep my fingers crossed that it will be that way. I just wanted to come here and say good morning and hope that you all have a wonderful Saturday! Strange that you can't see my photo that I posted yesterday, so I will try to post it another way for you tomorrow. Enjoy the day everyone!

Well, I almost said good morning, but it's 11 minutes after noon, so good afternoon. Not much planned for today - another scorcher - It's 90 already and feels like 100. More short walks with my dog today. I might just enjoy the duckies swimming in the little lake behind our house - from inside. Hope everybody has a great day!

I got one of the challenges done last night and almost have my second one done. The "night owl" was really on a roll last night. :bounce::dance:

hey there, O-zies!
Is everyone having a great weekend so far?
Yesterday was not so bad, not bad at all. (don't get me wrong, it wasn't amazing or anything, but it was a decent day)
I was excited to get some chicken strips from the pantry- a 5 lb bag of fajita strips. Scott's eyes bugged out. hehehe! He was thrilled, he can use them to make his b-fast burrito wraps. I was able to finalize my shopping order even if it made me :frusty: Caitlyn and I started on a puzzle that my mom got me for my birthday. Time really flies when you are doing them. Next thing we knew it was over two hours later and it was time to reheat leftovers for dinner.

I have to pick up my groceries this morning and then I am free for the rest of the day. Tomorrow I am cleaning for my friend that I used to clean for while they are on vacation. They are lucky that they are staying in NJ this year. They used to go to FL every summer so if they had those plans, they would have to quarantine for 14 days after coming back to NJ.

Right now, the sun is shining, but I thought we were supposed to get t-storms today so I am not sure if I will get outside. I didn't get anything done on my LO so I should finish that up too.

Hope you all enjoy the day!

Nancy- good luck to the Devils for their pick! My mom was telling me that Denville is doing the same and that my brother was going to get some dinner with SIL and my nephew. I hope that the rain didn't make it crummy for everyone.
I have to :tape: because if I get started on this Admin and its response to *everything* lately.... :boom:
I honestly don't know how anyone in the military can support him anymore with the news about the bounties being just one more thing to add to the pile. Horrific.
:tape: :tape: :tape:

I will ask Scott about the app- if I don't reply about it, keep asking me. It will leave my mind by the time I see him later today.
Have a nice walk with Luther if he decides to go with you.

Kay- did you get to visit a bit with DSIL#3? How nice of him to help with the yard. My dad finally caved and asked Scott to help with his lawn. They didn't want to *impose* on him. So my 81 yo dad has been mowing his yard while Scott is here unemployed.
Do you not talk to yourself? I talk to myself all of the time and I have people and dogs in the house with me hahaha!!!

Trudy- how was the tea with your sisters? Hope it was wonderful!

Cheryl- "good whatever time it is when you read this" :D Bet you have your AC cranking. Enjoy the ducks!!
Are you like Kay-- a scrapping fiend? I am so jealous! I struggle with scrapping lately. Send me some extra mojo if you have enough to spare

love to all!

good am - well it is supposed to be hot and humid with thunderstorms possible in the afternoon. Yesterday we did get rain but no thunder or lightning so that was good. I was able to get out for a walk around 5 pm once the sun broke through. Luther said thanks but not thanks. He likes going at the crack of dawn. Me I have found I like sleeping from midnight to 8am. I got a lot of scrapping done and will do more today. I am caught up on my weekly pages. I still have to finish up my book on a trip my sister and I took which really only has about 2 pages to go but for some reason I just have never finished it. I am also starting the second book in the trilogy. I know I will get sucked in. My DH got up and went to our favorite bread store and got us dinner and breakfast. That was very sweet in deed and in eating.

Chris glad you got the grocery order done and can now pick up. My pantry is pretty bare and shopping is on my DH's agenda. How fun to be working on a new puzzle. I keep thinking I should set one up but just never do. The news coming out today I have no words for. November cant come soon enough. I am mailing in my absentee ballot today.

Kay how sweet of your DSIL to come help with the lawn. And yes you should sing! I know that two of my friends who are single were much more likely to talk to themselves while working. I think people just like to use their voices. So sing loudly!

Trudy hope you and your sisters had a great time. I wish I was closer to my sister that is for sure.

Cheryl I think I am going to be putting on our AC today. Enjoy the ducks. I do love the bird watching that I have done in Florida.

Being lazy this AM... I was up working on a couple of LOs for a designer until almost midnight last night... then had to read a bit to unwind so I could fall asleep. So it was 1:15AM before I turned the light off. Slept in until 8 AM and haven't even gotten dressed yet. Been working on a few of the MiniO's since I got up.

Yes, I was so happy that DSiL#3 got my weeds sprayed and trimmed the bushes in front of my LR window. We didn't talk much as he wanted to get right to work. He finished up just after nine so it was still not too hot.

Have to tell what happened when DD#1 and I went over for our eye checks. We got there a bit early so stopped at a fast food place for a cold drink and were sitting in her car with the A/C running waiting until it was closer to our appt time. Suddenly I saw something move outside the window on DD#1's side - which caused me to jump and about that time a gloved hand banged on her window! ! ! We both jumped and screamed... only to realize that it was her hubby who came out to say we could come on in! ! ! It took a few minutes for our heart rates to come back down. Then we got the giggles every time we looked at each other. Well, as it turns out - it was a good thing I had my check-up as there is a slight problem with my eyes that needs some meds plus wet drops 4 times a day. The ointment I need is now over-the-counter but none of the pharmacies in town has it in stock. When I told DD#1 she said they would order it from Amazon for me [they are Prime Members] so I should have by mid-week.

Nancy, I do talk to myself and to my DH's spirit during the day. But guess they are short burst of talk so a longer sustained one doesn't happen that often. For some reason, I haven't been listening/singing along to my music as much lately. Time to get back in the habit of doing that.

Glad you got out for a walk but understand why Luther prefers the early mornings for his walk. Oh, yeah... it is so easy to get caught up in reading her series.... and yes... this one is like her other books - you want to keep reading to see what is going to happen next! LOL

Cheryl, I hear you about hot and humid it is in FL. We live in Jacksonville for almost 3 years [many years ago] but I remember how hot it was. We didn't have an A/C for the first couple of years!!! My cousin lives in Punta Gordo and has been saying it has been miserable there this year.

Hey, Chris... great snag on getting those chicken strips!!! Bet Scott is drooling over having them for his breakfast burrito! Hope the new puzzle isn't too difficult this time. Enjoy it.

Well.. time to get dressed and get the laundry started. Have a good weekend.

Hello lOvelies!
Whole weekend I struggled in tries to figuring out what to told you, which to not sounds as a repeating of my older posts. I'm not in creative mode, not for writing, neither for scraping! So this month I'm giving just the minimum effort to be active member. Hope this will change next month! Or I'll just blame it on the summer time ;) . Here is too hot to be pleasant to do anything, no matter what. But I'm actually satisfied by my activity at the weekend as I was able to cross out lots of the tasks at my To Do List, but it cost me really a lot concentration and volition.

Chris, I'm happy to hear that you liked your bday celebration! Yes I was put very small cake pic in case that you're not in mood for that. I wish we was able to share real cake! Oh, you're able to get back to cleaning, I guess this is a good news! Wish you easy and productive day! We traditionally said: 'Light work!', but I'm not sure did it have meaning on english.

Kay, LOL I sing all the time, I'm not good in that, so my family struggle, but it is what it is. It's not necessary to choose some cheerful tune, there is lot of beautiful sad songs!

Nancy, ITA, I have seriously to take care and end my 52 weeks book, but have no inspiration in that. So what, you go on walks without dog? Doesn't that seem strange to you in the current situation?

Trudy, can't wait to hear how was the weather for the Butchart Gardens! This isn't the same place where they makes prophecy on tea leaf, right? This kind of party is left in my memory, but maybe was from previous year?!

Cheryl, because of the time zone difference there is no matter how you will start your post, probably somewhere will be morning at that time. Must be lovely to have lake behind your house!

Jean  !
