Guess what?????!!!!!???????
I see the sun!!! I do!! :bounce: That makes me so happy. This past week was brutal. It poured here most of the day, the sun peeked out a bit around dinner time.

Yesterday was less stressful than I expected it to be. I called the PT facility to double check that I was all caught up with what needed to be done. The office manager said that I no longer needed Prior Authorization because my ins switched the requirement. So I am on record for being good to go. Whew.

After doing the cleaning that needed to get done, I spent some time with the rats who are just so darn cute. They were hopping all over Cait's bed and hiding and then running up to me, licking my nose, then running off again. I also finished the green puzzle pieces! I was determined to do that. Now I "only" have the blue ones left but that is about half of the entire puzzle. Ugh! But I am determined to finish it.

I wonder when it is a good time to start the steam cleaning. I don't want to wake the kids up at 8 am but they would sleep through the noise most likely. If I get that finished early enough, I might try to do some weeding. I wonder if my lilies are blooming, they looked like they were just about ready yesterday. I am so happy that I was able to save them.

Do any of you have fun and relaxing plans for today? Enjoy!!

Kay- hope that the air quality doesn't bother you too much from the fire. Whoa, that is a lot of designers to CT for but if that keep your creativity going, that is awesome. I was a store CT for Mscraps and Oscraps at the same time a few years ago and I found it to be too much for me. Just being here is plenty especially since I get scrap-blocked often.

Trudy- poor little guy! I hope that Hunter's teeth break through and his mouth feels better. I saw on FB that the painting sold, congrats!! :cheer2: I am so happy for you!
And now you have more money to buy more paint!!! My MIL always joked that any of her quilt sale profits went right back into more fabric.

Felis- Oh no, that story of your mom and the photo is hysterical. I know that you weren't amused but as a mom, I would say the same kind of thing to Caitlyn. And she would respond exactly as you did. ;)
You are right about the PT, I know it would be a huge mistake. Even just doing the home exercises, my ankle is letting me know that it is still very stiff and sore.
Yes, having three bathrooms is very, very nice. I don't clean the bathroom upstairs ever (well, maybe once in a while when Cait is really aggravated that Scott never cleans it). I wouldn't clean Gary's bathroom either except that's the main bathroom and I get embarrassed when people come over.

LOL the Instagram pics are like the Pinterest fails.

Trudy- the painting is just amazing! So happy!!!

Good Morning ladies... I am up early for a Saturday and got the coffee pot going. The smell of freshly brewed coffee is filling the house and now DH is stirring and will be up for his first cup of the day. It will be our usual busy Saturday of getting groceries and running around town for a few other things. Nothing too exciting! Yesterday was nice as the neighbour just loved her painting and has it already hung in her living room  I wish the photos that I took of it were better, the colours are just not right in the pictures, but I know that you all understand LOL. I am trying to find some things for Isaac and Sadie to do while they spend a week alone with me. They will be here for two weeks before their Mom and Dad arrive, one week with the other Grandma and Grandpa and one week here. I have a bad feeling that the swimming pool will be closed for cleaning, but the lake is not too far away and we can spend a couple of days swimming there. I also found this new museum that is very close to us called the "Hand of Man Museum" so we might have to check that out, the website looks kind of interesting! http://handofmanmuseum.com/
Probably the best thing they will like is the fact that you can do a self guided tour on an iPad LOL more screen time. So I should keep looking for more interesting things to do around here. I hope to spend some time today finishing my turtle painting today also. Tomorrow will be a day of garden work, a lot of the bushes need to be trimmed as they are looking very overgrown. I got another painting done yesterday and once that is dried and has a finish applied to it I will be adding it and a few others to my Etsy Shop or maybe I will try using Shopify instead, nothing has happened for me on Etsy. :mmph: Anyway that is my weekend in a nutshell.

Chris - I am so happy for you that you are finally seeing the sun today! Also good news that you are good to go for your PT finally!! All in all a pretty good start to the weekend! My lillies are just about ready to bloom too, but hey don't look as happy as in past years, perhaps they are just getting old and I need to get some new ones? Hope you manage to get your carpet cleaning done quickly and then you will have time to spend in the garden  Have a wonderful weekend and soak up those rays of sunshine!!

Well I will get into the shower and then get DH some poached eggs for his breakfast. I will not eat yet, as I am still Keto and don't eat until I am hungry which is usually around 11am or so. Have been maintaining my weight, which is good but I bet I lose a few more pounds when the grands are all here and I am a bit more active LOL. Have a wonderful weekend everyone!!

I'm as surprised as Chris to find a lovely sunny day. It's a bit cool and feels delicious. It even got me up earlier than usual by a bit. I've got to get going in my studio as it will be warm up there (on the 3rd floor) in the afternoon. I've got three pieces in the works right now and am just eager to get with them. Tonight I'm making pasta with Italian sausage and we'll watch a movie. Thanks everyone for the comments on my DH's birthday page. I really enjoyed doing it and he likes it as he says I got a good picture of him.

Chris, what a relief that the PT is all clear. Now go, endure it, and eventually enjoy the results. I know the sun today will make things better and maybe even make all those blue pieces less maddening. We've started a puzzle that is going to be hard so I'm really empathizing.

Trudy, that painting for the neighbor is wonderful but I totally understand about the photo not being quite right. It seems like none of my photos of my work are ever quite like them, often the colors not right. Some of that depends on the lighting when and where I take them, but no matter what they don't seem the same. You'll be off busy today as usual. Wow, I never thought about what you have to come up with the keep the grands busy. You'll do a great job of it I know.

Nancy, what do you think of the draft picks? Just read about them this morning. Hope you're also enjoying a sunny day.

Felis, you asked if I had photos as I worked on the collage, and I wish I had done that, especially before I started with paint. I really liked it then in all different whites. They liked it at class Thursday but I wasn't at all sure about it. Yesterday it seemed to get better and I've got a smaller one going that I like. Pictures when they're done. Also, need to get some of the altered book. It inspired one of my classmates to start one as well. Hope you had a celebration of the solstice and now have nice summer weather. Look forward to seeing your take on Joanne's challenge.

Hoping for a beautiful weekend for all!

good afternoon - well it has been all about the NHL amateur draft being held in Vancouver. Yesterday was the Devils fanfest at the Rock - outside actually in the Championship Plaza and in the near by restaurants. The weather was perfect. Rained all morning and then it cleared. We found the perfect spots to watch the first selection which was the pick of the Devils and they selected Jack Hughes a center. It was so fun to be screaming with lots and lots of other Devils fans. The Devils store also had Jack Hughes draft day picks for sale with his autograph. Don't know how they managed it and it was gift from my DIL. She has connections and got one and there were only 200 available. So sweet of her. It was my DIL, Carol and my son and I. We had such fun because Cory Schneider, my goalie and Andy Greene, my captain were there and we got to talk to them and I got their autographs and photos. So so fun! I am such a geek! Then today as the 2nd-7th rounds of the draft were getting ready to start, one of my hockey friends text and asked who I thought Devils would take. We both agreed we wanted PK Subban to be traded to Devils. Then about 15 min later the news from TSN reported indeed the Predators did trade Subban to the Devils. It was a salary dump for the the Preds and the Devils are the winners. So now we have 3 number ones, Taylor Hall-Nico Hischier and Jack Hughes. And now to add Subban what a difference this should make in our team. Our division is going to be so tough but at least I feel we will be very competitive. My DH is doing a lot more than I think he should be he is not listening to me. What men do listen to their wives LOL. We have gotten Luther out for walks and that was fun. Saw an egret and a great blue in the river when we walked Luther. I love seeing them. Now I am watching the draft to see what else the Devils will do.

Chris so glad that you have the pT all sorted out. It should not be this hard. Glad you had fun with the rats. As much as you want to let sleeping kids sleep sometimes you just have to do you the cleaning. Have fun outside!

Kay I am looking forward to start reading those two authors. Thanks! Sorry about the fire.

Trudy congrats on the sales. Funny how the profits go to buy more paints! Poor Hunter it is not fun to get new teeth.

Jean yes I am very happy with what the Devils have done. The Devils had Martin Brodeur make the first pick. He was drafted by the Devils in Vancouver too. But it is picking up a stud defenseman in PK Subban also puts the Devils in a good place.

Felis happy solstice to you too. My was great. Our weather was perfect! I love it when it is light so late. I am glad your mom thinks you are always pretty! such a sweet thing to say and I am sure she means it!

Have a great day all!

Well, it is afternoon already. Been busy all morning. Got a call from DD#2 and we chatted for over an hour... haven't talk to her in almost a month so lots to catch up on. I decided to roll my hair on curlers after my shower. Hair is baby fine and doesn't have much body. I usually blow-dry it but have to do that nearly every day so decided to see if the rollers will help it keep a bit more body.

Going to try to make to the grocery store today... been trying to go for the past 3 days and finally think I have enough energy to do it. Been out of milk for the past week... and am running out of fresh fruit.

Glad to hear the rains have let up and sun is shining for so many of you. The sun is out and heading toward mid-90's this afternoon. The winds are light so should head out pretty soon.

Trudy, I love that painting... it is fabulous! Can't wait to see the turtle one.

Jean, sounds like you are on a roll with your collage works. Hope it doesn't get too hot in your studio.

Chris, looks like most of the smoky air has blown away - so it is okay to get outside now. Actually, I am down on the number of designers I used to work with - at one time I was CTing for 8 plus 3 shops. But, that was before my DH got so sick and I cut back on them. Then The DigiScraps closed and I ended up here @ OScraps. I love working for a shop as I get to know and use a lot of designers products.

Uh, oh... got visitors. BBL

Hi girls!
Nothing too exciting here. It will be our usual weekend. At Saturday we went to groceries and to your favorite shop for desserts (which I'm mentioned few times before). I'm disappointed because I wasn't able to find this Xanthan Gum which I needs, so to be able finally to try the recipe for homemade ice cream. We all was complaining from the hotness, and my sister was piss off of us, she said: "oh, come on, you act as you see summer for first time", and we laugh and answered that we are forgot what it is. Not my cup of tea, I prefer iced tea, so go away, go away, go in Chris' direction hotness! I'm planning a lazy Sunday today!

Yey, Nancy, you describe just a perfect day! I'm so happy for you! And jump exciting reading your post! Such a lovely DIL you have, with flair for gifts! :cheer2:

Chris, relief that you resolved this conundrum with the PT! They are in the med system with reason, I'm sure you will be strict with your exercise, but at home you just don't have who to monitoring did you repeat it safely. I hope that your steam cleaning is not wake up the others, not fun to wake up angry, butt it's better than to left it to be doing by them ;) ! Rats are so fun!

Trudy, this museum looks very interesting to me! Will be challenging to keep your kids busy, especially if it's too hot for outside. Lake sounds lovely too! Etsy angry me much, I don't understand why not work for you! The paintings are so lovely! I could bet they will be selling as hot bread! I'm agree for the animation, I watch lot of them, they do it for both child and adult, so everybody to be entertained at the cinema.

Jean, yes I'm curious to the working process and different kind of arts you do. You all are so creative, and I love to listen about it! Wish you inspiring day!

Kay,nice conversation is excellent way to spend your morning. Good luck with your new way for hairstyle!

Hmm, I wrote this at (my) morning, but at some reason I wasn't able to load the forum page?! Nevermind post it now. Good that I write them at WordPad first!

:whoo: We have Day Two of sunshine!! The forecast looks a lot better for the upcoming week than it did a few days ago, could it possibly be that Mother Nature got the hint that summer is officially here?

Yesterday was a beautiful day. I steam cleaned the carpets one last time (hahahaha, yeah, no.) and they dried in no time. Gary trimmed the hedges on the patio earlier and I was able to go outside and do a bit of the clean up. The needles change the pH of the soil and destroy the black-eyed Susies that are underneath. But it felt awesome to be out in the sun and that is where I am going to be most of today too.

I need this Dirt Therapy since I have been so upset again by the news coming out of the detention camps at the US/Mexico border. Last year I was horrified by the family separation policy and it is only getting crueler. I had asked for donations to the ACLU for my birthday then and participated in a Keep Families Together Protest March. This year, I set up a fundraiser to RAICES, an org that is working very hard to provide legal aid to these children. I wish there was more that I could do. :(

So it will be a quiet day but I do need to get ready for the week ahead- it is going to be a busy one.

xoxo

Trudy- All I can say to you right now, is that I am in AWE! :hail: I saw the turtle painting and it is incredible. I don't think I could part with it. It must feel amazing to know that your neighbor is so happy with her painting and that it is hanging up already. I hope that the pool will be open but the lake should be a nice alternative. The museum seems like it would be fun to visit and I like that Conservation is a part of it. The kids are going to be so happy (and spoiled :p) when they are with you.

Jean- isn't it sad that we are pleasantly surprised to see the sun? How was it in the studio, good creative juices flowing?
Good luck with your puzzle! I got about 10 more of the blue pieces placed. I want it finished before that party here in 6 days. (What am I nuts?? No need to answer.)

Nancy- The fanfest must have been so much fun for you! Is this something just for the season ticket holders? I love the image in my head of you screaming with the other fans. Good luck to them for a solid season and team.
I am not surprised that your DH is doing too much. Men!

Fun with rats yesterday included them running all over Caitlyn's bed while she blew bubbles. They were chasing them and trying to catch them. Livvie seemed to enjoy it the most. Titania had a bubble in her whiskers. OMG-- sooooo cute and silly!!! I took some pictures of them but they are mostly little blurs. Maybe they will look better when I get them on my computer.

Kay- am I allowed to whine about how much I wish my hair was baby-fine? Mine is a curly, frizzy mess. Gary's is baby fine and soft and I wish the kids got his hair instead of mine. The grass is always greener. LOL
Hope you were able to get out to the stores and that they weren't too busy. I hate having to shop on weekends.

Felis- Your Saturday sound like it was nice, even if it was too hot. Please send the heat to me! I hope that you can find Xanthan Gum, homemade ice cream sounds delish! Enjoy your lazy Sunday, hope you are spending it with the pets!

Sun again today here too! How lovely. Yesterday the studio was fine and I've put two new pieces on my blog. Still don't know what to make of the one with the wallpaper though. I have another in the works, so want to get to it. Last night we watched Pulp Fiction. What a crazy movie, very Quentin Tarantino. I thought we should see it to catch up a bit on our lacking cultural knowledge as I see it mentioned every so often in reviews of newer things.

Chris, getting dirt therapy two days in a row will be quite an accomplishment! Maybe enjoy it more too. Good luck with the puzzle. 6 days, eh? Ours is looking like a nightmare still.

Felis, I too would gladly send Chris the heat when days get too hot for me (as they will do eventually). Your sister had a great take on it, so good you all could laugh then. Love your LO with the song lyrics and the mountains. Nice refreshing take on it. Hope you've had a nice Sunday.

Kay, hope the curlers do the trick with your hair. And boy, sure hope you went shopping! Not good to run out of things like that. Hope your health stays good.

Nancy, should have known you'd make it to a draft watch party! You had such nice opportunities there and what a great gift from DIL. Are you watching the women's soccer? Hope DH isn't really doing too much after the eye surgery.

Trudy, hope to see the turtle here too.

Morning ladies and happy Sunday to you all!! It is cloudy and cool here this morning, but no sign of any rain just yet. I had a great day yesterday as I finished off my turtle painting and posted it to facebook, but will now share it with you here too. I am in love with how it turned out and I think that I will hang on to it for awhile before I sell it. Someone suggested to me that I have it digitally scanned and make lots of prints of it, I will check it out and see how much it will cost to do that.

attachment.php

I also got this painting done and just have to add the hardware to it today. I call it Tequila Sunrise. If you look closely at the bottom of the painting, it looks like there are a couple of dolphins and fish floating around. One on the lower right hand side looks like it has its mouth open and is going to eat one of the cells LOL. Maybe it's just me seeing it??

attachment.php

Anyway I am late getting this posted and need to get into the shower and then help DH with bottling a red wine. The Eagles soundtrack is already blasting in the background. LOL I will come back later on today to catch up with all of you lovely ladies!! Have a great Sunday morning everyone!!

good morning - well yesterday and today I have been doing more walking and trying to see just how sore my knees will be. Yesterday walked twice for a little over 3 miles and today a little over a mile. My knees are holding up so that is good. But of course it is getting out of bed that hurts until I get my body moving. Oh the joy of these golden years. Yesterday I watched and listening to the NHL draft day 2. It goes pretty fast and interesting to watch teams trade down to make two picks but later in the rounds. All in all the Devils drafted 11 players. Pundits were not overly thrilled by the final 10 but I hope my scouts know what they are doing. And as Chris said it is another gorgeous day in NJ. Sun and bright blue skies. And in the evening I did get 2 more pages done.

Chris glad you got your floors done! Enjoy your outside time. I am going out in a new moments. It must have been fun to play with the rats. Have fun with the puzzle, 6 days in not a long time. The fanfest is held only if the Devils have a high first round draft choice. So it was held this year as we had the number on pick.

Trudy I saw the painting with the turtle it is gorgeous - so life like. I don't see how you can sell it unless you do second one but slightly different.

Kay good luck with the rollers giving more body. I never can repeat the way my hairdresser can make my hair look after she cuts it. I think they have magic hands! I hope you have magic in your hands. How fun to chat with your daughter. Glad you were able to finally catch up after a month! My sister and I try to talk each week.

Jean yes I am watching soccer on and off. If nothing else is on I will watch but I make sure to watch the US team. So far the US looks really good but I don't think they have had the hardest competition. Saw all the cool art work on your blog. You are super creative.

Felis sounds like you are having a great summer. I don't remember ever having to add zantha gum to make homemade ice cream. It was just a lot of cream, flavor (fruit, chocolate what ever) sugar and egg yolks and vanilla and then you churn it with salted ice. Have you looked online for alternative recipes. Well have fun!

Have a great day all!

Trudy... WOW, WOW, WOW!!! I love the turtle painting - don't know how you can sell it. I would want to keep it. Yes, I see the fish eating a cell... and the dolphins. Really like the brown/tan/white one, too. You are so talented in this medium.

Nancy, glad you got some walking in and hope things get better when you tried to get up in the mornings. I know my bod isn't happy with me until I have been up awhile... and had a cup of coffee.

Chris... another dirt day??? How wonderful for you. Glad it gives you so much pleasure to be out in the garden futzing around. I never been a great gardener although I did have a nice (small) veggie garden and fruit trees when we live in Poway, CA many years ago. That went by the wayside after I had my back surgeries.

Alas... the rollers did give my hair some body but it is not holding up well after I slept on it. << sigh >> Not worth the time/effort for it to only hold up well for a day. So back to blow-drying it. And Chris, I do understand how you would prefer the finer hair vs thick hair to avoid the frizzy curls when the humidity is high. I did manage to get a bit of lift with a round brush and hairspray before heading to church this morning.

We had a cold front come in yesterday afternoon - dropped from 87 to 72 in less than an hour! There was snow to the north of us in Colorado near Durango. We got lots of wind (again). It is much cooler today so I wore a long sleeve jacket over my sleeveless top/pants and was so glad I did. The A/C was running and I was chilled by the time class and church was over with. I managed to get to the grocery store today. Yea!!! Milk, bananas, lunch meat, eggs and a few other things. Need to go the veggie market but that can wait a day or so. Have a doctor's appt late on Tuesday afternoon so may do it the same day.

Well, have to close this out as I have a few more CT pages that need to be done by tomorrow afternoon. CYL
