Happy Weekend, O-zies!!!

How was your Friday? I hope you had a fantastic day. My day wasn't so bad. Gary is starting to feel a bit better. He had a horrible herx on top of his downturn. He isn't Bipolar but the Lyme causes him to present Bipolar mood shifts so he had slept for almost three straight days. I hate seeing him like that but we know that he eventually pulls through. And then BAM! He hits the manic part hahaha!! Iy yi yi!
I know that it has nothing to do with me but sometimes I take his mood personally like I did something wrong. This time around was harder than usual to get past it. Caitlyn took me up to the supermarket and we had a nice chat about nothing in particular. I spent more time weeding the yard. I am sure that people walk/drive past my house and see me weeding the same spots and think that I could do it much faster if I used a weed trimmer. But then I wouldn't have an excuse to be out int the yard for hours a day :D
Cait and I took W for a short walk and she was very happy with her tail wagging nonstop.

Today is the FP and then not much else. As long as the sun is shining, I will be back in the yard!

Have a wonderful day!

Nancy- It got humid in the afternoon but not terribly so. I guess it isn't technically summer yet so the "best" is yet to come. Nothing like having wild and curly hair, no haircut since November, and 85* temps with 90% humidity!
I am so excited to see Hamilton too!! It was on my "if I ever get to go back into the City" plan pre-COVID. Scott's friend has Disney+ and is able to "share" it with another household somehow.
What is Sweet Magnolias about, does it seem like something Gary and I would like?
Awww, your DS is such a good partner with his MG!
:puke: No roasting pigs for me! hahaha!!! One recipe I found was a dip with cheese and bacon, but we use the Bacon Bacon stuff from Tastefully Simple which is fake but tastes really good. Pork/Ham are in almost every darn recipe!

Trudy- How are the boys doing? Are they having a nice time with the turtles?
That is --- good news about SIL wanting you to paint for her? She won't change her mind once you start painting, I hope.
The hike must have been so rejuvenating and exhilarating! Not surprised that you felt stiff afterward. That was a long hike.
Enjoy your tea today and be safe!!

Kay- I am so sorry that you are still in so much pain/spasming. I hope by the time you read this it is better.
The new hairdo sounds very cute and fun!

Hugs!!!

good morning - poor Luther last night did not like the thunder so no late walk. He has already been out the morning. Got a lot of scrapping done as I have finished the Box books. They were fun. Not much else going on. My DH is making banana bread. He got videos from the kids about how much they liked it so that made him feel really good. Well I am guessing that sports are not coming back as soon as was hoped. With both Florida and Arizona having rises in Covid cases it has spread to hockey players and baseball players who are training in those states. MLB has shut down training facilities in Florida.

Chris glad that things are ok. Nothing wrong with ok. Glad your DH is making it through he disease/drug reactions. I guess it is good that you know what to expect though it does not make it better. Sweet Magnolias is about 3 women in a small southern town and their friendships and the struggles they are going through. I like that it is women as main roles. It so far is nothing like the stress I feel in watching Ozarks.

Trudy your hike sounds great! Glad you were not too stiff. How fun to have new painting projects and that the deadline is flexible. Does your MG think that hockey will be back with these new findings.

Kay so sorry back is still causing problems. Enjoy the rest!

Jean and Felis have great day!

Morning ladies and Happy Saturday! It is a rainy morning for us :rain: but looks like it should clear up in the afternoon. I sure hope that it will be a nice day tomorrow for Father's Day as we are having the In-Laws for a BBQ and it would be nice if we could sit outside to visit and catch up with them. Yesterday I spent most of my time selling my Norwex face masks to family and friends on facebook. I had lots of messages and sold most of the masks right away. Today will be grocery shopping and then out to the butcher to pick up a couple of rib eyes for tomorrow's supper. I can hardly wait to taste the steak, its my favourite meal especially when DH does the BBQ cooking! I got a card made for my sister's birthday but did not have time to get started on another scrap page  Still no card delivered to Isaac, so I guess our wonderful postal service has lost it somewhere. no way to find it as it was sent as an envelope and no tracking on it.

Chris - I am happy that you are able to get out and work in the yard and that you are getting some walking in with the dogs too! My tea with my sisters will be on next Saturday, so hope that the sun will be shining for us! Hope that your Gary is feeling better, it must be hard on everyone to see him down in the dumps like that. The boys are having lots of fun outside playing and yes with the turtles too. Although they don't really talk too much about the turtles to me. Mostly they have a great time in the pool and are happy when Mom and Dad join them for a dip! Weather is very warm for them and I think that they are ready for a good rain and cooler temps. But it is nice that the boys are keeping busy playing outside a lot!

Nancy - Poor Luther, isn't it funny how dogs react to the thunderstorms! WTG on finishing your Box books! I need to get to the gallery and check out your pages! I suppose it was to be expected that the players would get Covid cases, playing in an area where the virus is so bad anyway! DH thinks most likely hockey will not go forward any time soon. :pout: Why they picked those area's to play is beyond me! Yes I will be very busy with lots of painting to do, but nice that there is lots of time to get it done!

Kay - that is horrible that your back is still bothering you and that the smoke is still so bad! Hope that the winds change and blow it all away for you!

Hi to Jean and Felis  hope your day is beautiful!

Ok off to make my DH some breakfast, he is on his computer trying to get to the bottom of an extra charge that we have on our Shaw bill. He is not happy about it either. LOL Have a wonderful Saturday everyone! Be kind, be calm and be safe!!

Another late day getting in here... Just not moving very fast so things have taken longer for me to get done. The back is improving but still prone to spasms if I move wrong. I was hoping the hot shower this morning would loosen everything up... it did but didn't last long. <<< sigh >>>

Realized that I had to go to the post office as I missed the mailman here - so that took a bite out the morning. Seems like I am moving through molasses - every thing is taking much longer to get done.

I did get a few photos of me with my new hairstyle... so I changed my avatar. Also posted a larger photo of it over on FB. It was even easier to style today... guess the hair is getting used to the pageboy turn-under.

Chris, so sorry to hear that Gary has been having mood swings and hope he will be feeling better soon. Glad you understand that it the Lyme's causing it. <<< hugs to both of you >>>

Nancy, understand why Luther didn't want to take a walk with thunder happening. Most dogs hate thunder... What a bummer that some of the players have gotten Covid-19...

Trudy, not sure if you wanted the rain... but we would love to have some here.

Glad I got back when I did... not even 10 minutes after I got home, the wind picked up to 35 mph with gusts up over 50mph!!! The good news is that is helping push the smoke away. Not completely gone but much better than it was.

Good morning, girls!
Happy Summer solstice!
Summer!!! I'm so excited and thrilled to start new time period, and to have this feeling for new beginning and start on clean!
Summer is never been my favorite season, so it have one part of worries too, but I'm trying to be positive and open minded. At Monday, when here is the week start I will make detailed plan of tasks, as I already have lots ideas rolling in my head.
Hope this will be better period for all of us!
Oh and happy fathers day for your husbands and sons!

Hmm, let see how much from the last week (which I skipped) I'll be able to remember for my notes:

Chris, so relief to hear that all pets are now feeling good! Your parties are always so funny! I hope you was able to hide your worries from Scott! Everything will gonna be all right, he is not the only one in this situation. So sorry about Gary's moods amplitude, must be very difficult for the whole family, especially in this situation of lock down! ::grouphug
OK, so is just your family still in isolation because of the high risk or US is still following the quarantine rules? As here almost everything (except social distancing and disinfection scheme) was cancelled.

Jean, happy belated birthday wishes to Dick!
This about the book with many options sounds very fun! We had something similar in my school years, and was call them book-games. Sounds as you had lots of fun with genealogy meetings and courses! But Sorry to hear for damaged car and lawnmower! I always have this strange feeling like these damages comes on groups, never it's just one thing at time.

Nancy, good luck on the next eye surgery on your husband! I was surprised how fast he was back to work. Uff, these eye things scares me so much! Here football (soccer, I always forget that you call it soccer) is back to their tournaments, but I'm not pretty sure whats are the rules about the public. I also hear that our tennis tournament was canceled because now it match with other bigger. Love your Box books, especially the page with Shadow! Family gardening LOs also are turn very cute!

Trudy, your idea for plant the raspberry bushes intrigue me a lot, as I love when people plant things! Hope to be able to realized it! I have mine from few years (2 ... maybe) and actually it's very easy. Oh, bad that the card wasn't received, hope it's only delayed, not lost! So exciting about the new paintings!

Kay, your new hairstyle is so pretty! Sorry to hear that your back is still bothering you! Do you find someone appropriate to employ for your gardening? It's horrible to hear about the wildfires, this always makes my heart cry!

I miss Rae so much! Do you see her at least at FB?

Good morning to you, dear O-zies, good morning to you! :sing:

I hope that everyone had a nice day yesterday and is ready for another one.
Yesterday's big moments involved spending way too much time watching squirrels on the outdoor camera card. Caitlyn and Gary rigged up a bird/squirrel feeder of sorts and hung it in line with the camera.
We watched an hour of 20-second video clips of the squirrels trying to get to it. Sometimes, they succeeded, sometimes they failed. Sometimes they fell spectacularly. And in between, they yelled at each other with their tails. Squirrels use their tails for balance and for communicating and boy, oh boy, they were yelling at each other and ya didn't need to be a squirrel to understand. :pound:
We have been able to "identify" two of them and one is a quick learner and figured out to get from the tree to the dowels on the feeder so he could sit and eat. The other one, it took a lot longer for him to get it, and even when he did, he fell off- a lot. We were laughing so hard. And even when they fell, they were fine since it is hanging only 5' off the ground.
Cait and I took W for a nice walk but it had gotten pretty humid. By the time Gary put the AC on, neither window unit was doing so well. Both of us unknowingly at the same time checked on them, thinking that they weren't working. They were, just not so good.

My ILs are coming up this morning for a quick visit. Other than that, it is a quiet day here. Puttering for sure.

HAGD!!

Nancy- it didn't rain the night before but it poured last night for a little while. My dogs are not happy with the thunder either. I heard about the virus in the FL baseball camp. Yikes. I get that people want to return to normal but I think they taste they push it, the worse it is going to get. I hope your sister is being careful and safe.

Trudy- how it the weather for your BBQ today? Have a fun time with the ILs. Good job on selling the masks so quickly although I am not surprised. MIL is bringing up the masks we asked her to make for us 2 months ago. The first batch she brought to us, the guys didn't like because the fabric was "dorky" so they requested plain black. We hadn't gotten any so I finally broke down and ordered some online. Yesterday- 4 hours before they said they were coming up with them. :mph: Oh well!! They won't go to waste.
I guess it is hard to talk about turtles too much, it isn't like they do anything super exciting! The pool is going to get lots of use this summer!

Kay-- looooove the new do and avatar photo!! Take it nice and easy with your back. No rush, since all we have is time. I noticed when we were watching the squirrel videos I was getting itchy. Then I realized--- why?? what did I have to do other than waste more time? So I laughed a lot longer at silly squirrels.
Yeah, it is hard to see him "down" like that and we know it is a matter of time before he swings back up but he does and that's what we focus on.

Felis- Happy Solstice to you! Yes, it is officially summer and the start of the next turn of the wheel. I hope that the heat doesn't get too bad for you this year and that you are able to do everything you want!
The US in general is in bad shape with COVID. My state- and Nancy's- New Jersey is actually doing well but we still have lots of restrictions still in place. You have to wear a mask in public, indoors and most places outdoors people will be too. No indoor dining, outdoor is open but with reduced seating. My family is still being very careful b/c of our health risks. We know there will be an increase in cases as we do open up and we don't want to get caught in that.
Thanks for liking the theme nights. I really don't think that we can top the Halloween night though. ;)

I miss Rae here too, but I am happy to see her photos and LOs on FB.

Friday was a quiet day for DH's birthday but pleasant. We had a good steak dinner (I know, not the favorite of others, but for us) and watched a free movie at IMDB, Ender's Game. DH had even sort of considered it when it was at the theaters, so this was a good time to watch it. He has read all the Orson Scott Card books, so knew the story but it was all new to me. His brother and sister called and I was amazed that in a reminder email for the session tomorrow, he told the folks at H&S that he'd just turned 80. The leader who is 86 welcomed him to the club. Of course he got a card from me. It has a bit of a dictionary page with octogenarian on it but more evident is octopus, so it's an octopus's garden, of course.
attachment.php

Yesterday the computer genealogy group met with an excellent speaker and we had over 40 attend. But that was with guests from two other groups. It was nice. Today not much happening and it's getting a bit warm. Each of the next three days there is a genealogy Zoom session of some sort. I think some of us are starting to feel overloaded with them.

Chris, laughing at the squirrel antics would be a great reliever for you I think. DH got a little feeder with a camera in it from his sister. The birds didn't find it until today so we'll see what that is like. Anyone in the family have a ukulele to play for the luau? Oh, speaking of ukes, you might get a kick out of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. It would be a little like watching the squirrels, maybe. Anyway, here's a lockdown episode they did: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z486r97RnzY
but the first thing of theirs I saw was so incredible (and nuts): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z486r97RnzY - it's over 5 minutes but you have to watch ALL of it.

Felis, yes, happy mid-summer! Lovely to start anew with the turning of the season. Wishing you a successful trip through your tasks.

Kay, the hair looks great! And the avatar too. Sorry the back still isn't behaving, but I know you're taking good care. Good timing on your venture out to miss the wind but now have the smoke moving off. Sure hope the fires get under control.

Trudy, I'm sure you're busy doing Father's Day for FiL and your MG. What a pain about the card. It is so super so do hope it is just delayed and not lost.

Nancy, if it's muggy here, bet it's worse there. Guess you have to get Luther out early and late. The sports world just isn't getting any better and now with both Florida and Arizona spiking, where would they even play? Anyway, I too like your gratitude to BA. The meals always sound so good.

I'm grateful the heat isn't too much
sun is shining
DH is adjusting to a new number

Hello lOvelies!
It was nice and satisfy start of my summer. We keep it lazy as for Sunday. Weather is still more like spring, but at least it wasn't rainy, so we was able to get out on the garden swing seat and had afternoon coffee and nice talk.
(OK I prefer to remember it at this way as it's looks pretty and match my intentions. Actually it was tense conversation, as my mom was learn that our friends, even very far bloodline family, are been robbed previously at the week. Technically this is happened during the spring's sh**, so I refuse to count it. And yes mommy is very worried and we all are little bit stressed. It was expected with so many people losing their jobs, and crime is always been high here, but it's just don't seems normal things like this to continued happens at 21 century! It was conversation with lots of worries, nods, and sign. And I'll lie if I say that I'm not get nervous from every noise at the night right now. But these are details! IF can ignoring the subject, we had very nice afternoon conversation!)
And then the evening turns fabulous, as at one of the UK's radio was presented few acoustic songs of some of my most favorite musicians! It was such a luck that I saw the note on Instagram on time to can join listen! And for dessert I had also lot of fun with the link that Jean shared with us!

Jean, thank you so much for this link! It's hilarious! I watched many of the videos and love them all! Especially one where cats was taking part at the performance and also 'Born this way'! I watched also one of their regular performing, so cool! The octopus card sounds very cute! Are there any hints that the online meetings will continue even when life gets back to normal? I heard that here is considering online schooling to be maintained and developed, so to be used again in future, when weather is bad or have other flues. Or just for students who are liked it more (in some mountain areas kids have to travel ridiculously long on ice roads, so they want to stay online at winter season instead to risk). Both things aren't equal, of course, but the situations looks similar to me.

Chris, thanks for the explanation! I'm afraid that EU also not deal good enough, but people just get bored and governments was pushed to bet on the tourism/economic side than on health care. We was joking that summer party is nothing as party anymore, you have to be afraid not just to sleep with strangers, but even to flirt with them now lol.
I'm so jealous because of the video clips of the squirrels! Sounds so funny and cute!

Hope everybody had a nice weekend! :bathbaby:
