Happy Sat. and good morning!!

Be back in a few!

aaahhhhh! All settled in with another yummy cup of coffee.

I slept pretty decently last night but I am still so freaking tired. I really wish I didn't have to drive down to my brother's today. Its times like this that I really wish I lived closer to the rest of my family. Its a little under and hour to my brother's, which isn't far but just far enough that at the end of the day, its a PITA to drive back home. I sound so selfish, and lazy. but ....well, it is what it is. ;)

As long as I am complaining about driving, its my right ankle and right wrist/hand that are giving me so much pain. Which makes it hurt more when I drive. On the positive side, at least I have a car that runs, and it is *not* a stick shift!!!
And on a really good note-- I get to see my darling baby who is not a baby any more! I was looking at old pictures of Christopher and it is seriously crazy how little he was this time last year! Isn't it **crazy** how much babies change in one year? This time last year he was just a few weeks ols- teeny thing, all mushy and snuggly, sleep eat poop! Now, he is a little person! Walking, talking, knows what he wants and when he wants it.

It is truly amazing, isn't it??

In the past year, I don't think I have changed at all- a few more grey hairs, a few more pounds, but basically the same. Time is relative I guess.:D

Eva- snow??? Really?? Gary has a friend who moved to Finland a while ago and has really loved it so much. Not that it is even a remote possibility, but Gary says how much he would love to move there. But if there is snow in that region in June, not a chance in H***!!! Honestly, I would love to be able to move to Vermont, they have a pretty progressive attitude/legislature, but even VT is too cold for me. I would love to move south for the weather but I don't think I would fit in very well politically. I way too "Left" and way to outspoken to make many friends I think. Oh well -- I am a jersey Girl, born and bred and there is no changing that.

Phyllis- no worries- the weather will change completely by the time your hubby goes to the beach ;)
A nun? Wow! If nay of my roomies decided to be a nun, I have plenty of blackmail photos to share hahahahh!!!
I hope that you didn't get pissed or depressed. I know it is really hard, but it doesn't change a damn thing.
I wonder if it is something in the air, I feel so unmotivated and unfocused as well. It took me over three hours to clean the "easy house" yesterday- I was wondering and cleaning things I had already cleaned. It was crazy.
My lawn is more weeks that grass too :)

Maureen- eek! Hope your weather stayed calm!

Kristy-- did you post them up? Can't wait!

Tee hee Trudy! Isn't that dancy guy adorable??
Ugh, drama!! I have to say that is truly one of the best things about my job- no drama, just me and my ipod. Hope that the drama dies down quickly, there is enough drama in every day life, no need for work life to add to it.

Stef. :( I cannot imagine the emotional roller coaster you must be on. yes, worry and stress can be very exhausting. I know how hard it is to deal with it every day, but try very hard to take even just 20 minutes to yourself, and just breathe or meditate or pray or whatever re-balances you. Chronic stress is bad bad bad. I know I don't do enough to combat the stress in my life and I can see how it is really taking a toll. I recently read a great quite about stress/worry and how you can't change the past and the future isn't here yet and you can only live in the moment. If I find it again, I'll post it for you. But you get the gist of it.....
Hugs to you.

To all of you-- have a fantastic weekend!!!! xoxo

lol no...haven't started anything yet haha...been so busy with other stuf and gonna be heading out the door in a couple of hours to go to the beach with the kids...hopefully tonight i'll get something done!

hey, there. it's Boring Me. another day with a little of this and a little of that and nothing much. i DID just have an EXCELLENT SKYPE with The Grandmen and Family. my DIL just started taking piano lessons and they all were just getting back from their piano recital. she played a few little tunes for me, then The Grandmen wanted to "play" a few tunes for me. it was a riot! they really are a chaotic little family, but they have fun. Grandman #2 danced while my DIL played The CanCan on the piano. too much.

Chris, my night's "sleep" was a disaster. i fell asleep in my recliner, and my hubby came down and woke me up at 2 a.m. to tell me to go to bed. so. i went to bed, lay there wide awake for 2 1/2 hours listening to him snore, then went back down to the recliner at 4:40. ate a cracker to ward of blood sugar weirdness. fell asleep for about 2 hours, woke up to the higest a.m. blood sugar reading i ever had. so...told hubby NOT to ever wake me up to tell me to go to sleep EVER again!

Chris, i know what you mean about driving to family. i never wanted to live too close to my family,. but when my mom got older, that hour drive each way (not to mention the Turnpike tolls going up every other week...) got to be a bit old. at least you seem to be always traveling to parties! that is NICE!

Maureen, your weather looked GRIM yesterday! hubby is driving to NC through DC tomorrow, and he's feeling really lucky that he wasn't driving through there yesterday! hope you didn't have to head for the cellar. we did have a tornado touch down about 50 miles east of here yesterday.

Eva. don't say "snow." :lalala:

So much Drama at work, you would think I was back in high school!!
Trudy, this sort of thing just confirms my belief that most people NEVER grow up. i'm really glad i'm out of the workforce. i worked at a preschool a few years ago and got myself OUT of there because of the childish nonsense going on with the GROWNUPS!

Stef. good luck. try to find some funny every day. it'll help.

where is Linda? i haven't seen her around in like forever.

happy weekend! or at least do something nice for yourself.

phylis

Well, we didn't get any snow - just rain. Further up north though. But remember, I'm further up north than Anchorage. Climate in Sweden is just fine :) I've seen snow in May (but it's always melting away quickly), but never in June.

morning all - Maureen- I hear you on falling asleep then going to bed and not being able to sleep- somewhere in the 400's- I count backwards from 500 to fall asleep when that happens- I decided that the snoring wasn't helping and remembered that on NYE the hotel we stayed in had a goodie bag with lavender spray, eyemask and ear plugs!!! Yup I got them out, popped them in and fell asleep before 300! Today, MMG had his plans changed by our youngest whom he was going to help. So he is not in a good mood, I am getting ready to head in to play catch up (do you suppose I will ever not say that and still have this job?)! Very windy, so Pizza hut will be cooking dinner tonight!

We went to C-man's ballgame the other night and I got some pretty good photos!! I have not been able to go to them this year because of Jesse and Jaiden...they act up too much...I took them to two games and spent my whole time chasing them. So this time I got my Mom to watch Jaiden and I just took Jesse....so that worked out better. I was able to get photos and watch my little man play!!

Yesterday afternoon around 5ish, we had a teenie little thunderstorm that lasted less than 10 minutes....knocked out the power for 5 hours!! So....I grilled hotdogs, Mike has a portable TV and some rabbit ears (smart man, had the battery charged completely) and we all sat and watched tv on a little 3.5 inch screen...that was funny...well...kids were outside until it was so dark you couldn't see anymore...and then when I called them in, I played battleship with Cameran with the flashlights!! It was actually pretty fun!!! Jesse and Jaiden didn't like the dark...so my Mom came and got them....they spent the night there. Mom insisted and they were begging to go....even though I knew Mom didn't feel like it...but she said they were really good and went right to bed. Those poor kids have been through so much, it's hard to say why they freak out about the dark so badly :(

Anyway....today I am cleaning and then I am going to tackle a project I have dreaded for a LONG LONG LONG TIME!!! I am going to sort my photos :fear:
Just to let you know how bad this is....I NEVER DELETE ANY PHOTOS...when I shoot I take 200-300 photos every time!! we are talking 1000's and 1000's. I always thought I would just do in a few days...or I didn't want to throw them out as I might actually use them....REALLY??? WTH WAS I THINKING?????? So if I don't return to the site at all for days and days, you know where I am...buried in my EHD!!!!!

Okay...off to finish cleaning!!

Happy Saturday everyone!! Finally the sun is making an appearance here today. Not much on my plate today, just some shopping for groceries and paying some bills, a bit of :washing: Tomorrow the In-laws are coming for dinner and MIL wants to look around for some plants that she can't find in her area. I hope to take her and let her have some quiet shopping time without FIL he always complains about how much she spends :mmph: men!!!

Chris - At least you don't live any further away from your brother than 1hr. I lived 3 provinces away from all of my family for 28 years, some days I was really glad that I did LOL. But most of the time it was hard and I really missed everyone :hurt: We are just the right amount of time away from everyone now, but sadly I can no longer visit with my parents as they are both gone
Now if I could just get my kids to move back to B.C. it would be perfect!! Hope you have a great visit with your little man, enjoy him!! He will be grown up before you know it!!

Phylis - I am like you my life is pretty boring :bored: but thats ok, when something really exciting happens its even more special right?? Glad you had a great Skype visit with your grandmen!! sounds like they are a very talented bunch!! I got to facetime with my grandbabies last night while they were on the trampoline (sadie calls it the jumpoline LOL) I got a little motion sick talking to them :twitch: Hope you find something exciting to do today!!

Eva - Glad that you didn't get any snow!! Hope your weekend weather is perfect for you!!

Laurie - You wouldn't know what to do with yourself if you didn't have to play catchup!! (just kidding) I bet you have a million things you would rather be doing!! Hope your MG is in a better mood this evening!!

Nana Linda - OMG!! how are you ever going to get through all of those photos?? We might have to send in a rescue team for you if we don't see you for a few days! I bet you come across some amazing shots that you didn't even know you had! Good luck sorting through your EHD! So glad that you got to see Cameron's ball game in peace and that your game of battleship was so much fun! Scary to think of why the kids are so afraid of the dark, but your mom is a wonderful lady for taking the kids out of that scary situation and letting them sleep over! You are so lucky to have your MOM !!

Off to get some breakfast, I actually slept until almost 8:30 this morning, its a record for me, it must be the cooler weather and the fact that I was up until 12:00am. Have a great weekend everyone!!

Well, there are times I wish we hadn't moved back to my hometown 9 years ago. (almost every time I meet my mother LOL) But it's nice to have the family close too. Family - you can't love them .... and you can't kill them ;)

Will I ever learn to write posts in another program and not lose looong ones here? Somehow when I'm on my Macbook, it is too sensitive to touch and poof!

cya tomorrow!

home again and left work at work. I did treat myself to a dollar store trip while I was in town. I plan on putting glow sticks in balloons and lighting up my hot tub- not tonight though, they would blow away. Pizza hut did cook dinner. Tomorrow is mine, all mine (well God's, too!) I am playing while MMG watches the Hatfield and McCoy marathon- I wonder- how can it be a marathon if there were only 3 in the mini series???

up early (5 a.m.) seeing Hubby off on his beach vacation. then an 8 day stint of MEEEEE-ness! well, me and the cat.

Phylis- enjoy that Meeeeeee time! I am up and drinking my cuppa and wondering what will be accomplished today, the list maybe longer than my motivation!

Okay....so I plugged in my EHD yesterday....opened that GIANORMOUS photo file, and then closed it :bolt:

Spent the afternoon scrapping a baseball page instead!! :pound:

But....I will get started...my hope is to have them all sorted out so I can order some photos to make a book for my brother by the end of July....his birthday is then, and he wants some family photos...so with what my Mom is gathering...I will pick through mine...I should be able to put something together.

Plus, after all the painting and stuff...I have been picking up new frames here and there and now I have these frames on my walls with NO PHOTOS in them yet :help: I CAN NOT LEAVE THEM LIKE THAT!! :hurt: so this project MUST be completed!!!!

My mechanic brought my car back to me (he has had it since Monday, waiting on parts) along with a $200 bill....I didn't think it would be quite that much...but I can't complain.....no more rattle underneath and it's safe to drive!!!

Chris...sorry about your pains sweetie...I feel for you...my arm is getting worse..I have lost so much Range of Motion...I need to bite the bullet and get to the DR..YAY for seeing the baby!! I know it is amazing how much they change and so quickly!! I hope you had a wonderful visit!!!

Kristi...hope you trip to the beach was great...I wish we lived closer to a beach!!

Phylis...WHAT IS WITH MEN?? know how much trouble we have sleeping...then they WAKE US UP ...NO LESS TO GO TO BED!!! UUGGHH!!! ~smacks your DH for you~ I bet the kids were so cute "playing"' on the piano....how cute!!
and LindaS is usually very involved with baseball this time of year...LOTS of family members that play plus her kids too!!

Eva...I am glad you didn't get snow...I am with Phylis about that one!! I HATE IT!! we were unseasonable cool here last night....some cold front passing through...made it a very "spring like" day yesterday..not being too hot!!

Maureen...I can not tell you HOW MANY TIMES that has happened to me before..now since I have gotten my present laptop, it hasn't been that often...my other keyboard was TOOOOO sensitive...plus I did turn off the touch pad on this one...so maybe that helped too....

Laurie....hope you enjoy your day..all to yourself....and good for you leaving work at work!!!

Trudy......I hope you are right about my EHD and I find some unexpected shots that I am in love with... Hope you enjoy your day with the ILs....
and I can't imagine living far away from my family..you know me..we are always "together"....sometimes I get tired of it...but I would be so lonely if not so it's all good for me.

Phylis....I AMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM JEEEEEEEEEEEAAAALLLLLOOOUUUSSS!! I would love 8 days alone!!!

Laurie...GOOD MORNING!!

Phylis, I should drive out there and interrupt your Meeeee time! You know I miss a cat a lot more these days. Not sure why.

Just read this on Tall Tales From Kansas...and give it to you as my Sunday treat!

Excerpts from "How to be Perfect"

by Ron Padgett

Get some sleep.

Eat an orange every morning.

Be friendly. It will help make you happy.

Hope for everything. Expect nothing.

Take care of things close to home first. Straighten up your room
before you save the world. Then save the world.
Be nice to people before they have a chance to behave badly.

Don't stay angry about anything for more than a week, but don't
forget what made you angry. Hold your anger out at arm's length
and look at it, as if it were a glass ball. Then add it to your glass
ball collection.

Wear comfortable shoes.

Do not spend too much time with large groups of people.

Plan your day so you never have to rush.

Show your appreciation to people who do things for you, even if
you have paid them, even if they do favors you don't want.

After dinner, wash the dishes.

Calm down.

Don't expect your children to love you, so they can, if they want
to.

Don't be too self-critical or too self-congratulatory.

Don't think that progress exists. It doesn't.

Imagine what you would like to see happen, and then don't do
anything to make it impossible.

Forgive your country every once in a while. If that is not
possible, go to another one.

If you feel tired, rest.

Don't be depressed about growing older. It will make you feel
even older. Which is depressing.

Do one thing at a time.

If you burn your finger, put ice on it immediately. If you bang
your finger with a hammer, hold your hand in the air for 20
minutes. you will be surprised by the curative powers of ice and
gravity.

Do not inhale smoke.

Take a deep breath.

Do not smart off to a policeman.

Be good.

Be honest with yourself, diplomatic with others.

Do not go crazy a lot. It's a waste of time.

Drink plenty of water. When asked what you would like to
drink, say, "Water, please."

Take out the trash.

Love life.

Use exact change.

When there's shooting in the street, don't go near the window.

Up early too 5:30 just woke up could not go back to sleep :mmph:

Phylis - Lucky you!!! So much meeee time!! I'm Jealous!!

Laurie - Pouring myself a cuppa too! Hope you get lots accomplished today!

Nana Linda - Love your baseball page, my friend! Bet it was far more fun to do all that scrapping instead of sorting through thousands of pictures! I have a family tree project that I have to get finished also, working on it for so long and now it must be done for the family reunion this August. I gotta get busy!!

Maureen - Thanks for the Excerpts from Ron Padgett!! All great advice and words to live by!!

Have a creative Sunday everyone!!

GooooOd morning! Wish I was feeling as chipper as I sounded in my head when I typed that. But maybe after a bit more coffee and a day of trying to rest. The sun is out for now, but it got chilly. I was thinking of grabbing a book and going to the lake for a bit but if it is this cold, it will not be worth it.

Phyllis, I cannot tell you how "jelly" I am. (using the kids' word for "jealous but in a good way" ) Enjoy, enjoy!!!!

Maureen- loved the excerpts- words I need to get in my brain, for sure.

Nana- "One folder at a time"-- maybe start out just getting rid of the blurry or too dark ones. Then go back for duplicates, then keep the rest LOL

Hugs to all, be back later!

Sunday - yawn. Yesterday I was feeling great, but today I'm dead tired. Probably slept too much. Didn't get out of bed until noon. And I wasn't even drunk yesterday LOL

Morning (or afternoon, rather) gals. Thanks for the extra support. The human body and mind are amazing - we pile more and more on our "plates" and still manage to make it through. One day at a time. Today is the 1 year anniversary of when DH had to leave, so it has been tough.

I took the girls to church this morning and it was wonderful. The childrens' drama team did a hilarious skit and the preacher said exactly what I needed to hear. Thanks for that.

So, anyone taking a fun vacation this summer? I am not. After being gone for nearly 1 year, I just want to stay home. Well, stay home and sell my house. :) I keep telling myself this is adventure enough for us. lol

I am taking the girls to meet a local photographer at the park tonight to get some family photos done. I am excited - but a little nervous! Hopefully we will get some good ones. Harper is such a serious baby, I'm not sure we will even get a smile out of her. Oh well - it will just match her personality. Avery is goofy enough for both of them. :)

Have a great Sunday, girls.

We have no plans to go anywhere this summer ... either. Since we moved back to my hometown, we don't know where to go anymore. We always went here for the summer, and now that we live here ... Where to go??? Strange I know, but we are a family of hermits LOL
