Good morning, O-Fam. I am feeling pretty darn good today if I do say so. Talking to my BFF for hours by her pool did me wonders. 4 1/2 hours of non-stop catching up. I had missed that. It is like a bit of my heart got reconnected. I know that sounds corny but it is true. IO spent more time talking to people outside of my immediate family in the past 7 days than I think I did in the past year and a half. Although the people I was with are like family.
It was so much hotter by her than it was up here but the water in her pool was freaking cold. We were laughing about how we were doing the "old lady dunk" of not wanting to get our shoulders wet - easier for her since she is way taller than me. It was also the first time that I was in a bathing suit since the last time I was at her house to swim 2 years ago and I got a bit of color even though I was wearing sunscreen.
I forgot about driving in traffic though and it felt like it took forever to get home. Gary made homemade penne and vodka and mojitos for them and poured a nice cold glass of pinot for me. it was really an amazing day.
Scott is going away for a few days with Leah and his best friend and his fiancee, upstate NY until Wed. Cait is off to a family party for Tom's older sister's graduation. That means the house is going to be oddly quiet this afternoon. Other than my barking dogs.

That said, my plan for the day is to *finally* get my life in order. I have to clean up the things shoved everywhere. I can't take being so disorganized and scattered and messy. Yeah, I have said it a million times already. Wish me luck!

@tanteva How is your arm today? Did you have fun watching soccer and crocheting?

Kay- that is really awesome that you "found" so many movies. So smart to make an inventory that you can check when you are in the mood for something specific to watch or to run through when you aren't. Hope you aren't too stiff today.
Stay cool and hydrated.

That stinks that you recorded over the movie, Eva. Is it something you could find on YouTube since it is caught up in legal limbo?

@bcgal00 Great news that you are feeling well about Vax #2. Enjoy the BBQ today!

@Cherylndesigns Even though it was a short walk, that is fantastic that you were able to take Daisy out. Bet your ferns were very happy too!

Hugs!

The arm is better, and over all I feel better. One weird thing: the arm is much hotter around where I got the shot, than the rest of the arm. You can really feel the difference by touch. Totally weird.

Been scrapping again today. Feels great to be back in the inspiration zone. Been trying to refresh my memory on shadowing today. Among the old "working on" layouts I found on the EHD, was an extracted picture of John, that I had extracted, and it was shadowed and everything. Used that for a new layout using Lorie Davison's kit Watch Out For That Moon. Will let that layout stew for a while, but it was really fun to try and get the shadows right. Not sure I got it all right, but at least I've had fun LOL

Shadowing is tricky, isn't it?

Been looking at lots of old photos the last few days. Wow - is my life different these days! I've done so many changes the last 5-6 years ... it's crazy. Not complaining - it's all been for the better.

Plans for the weekend? Nope. None. LOL

Plans for the weekend??? Nope - None... still hibernating. Hot and smoky. UGH.

The bod is still sore so guess it will take another day or so to recover from twisting it around while doing the inventory. I did get the MB mattress rotated and sheet changed. Was nice to not be sleeping in the dip now. I thought that might have been part of the stiffness in the back but that didn't change. Hmmmm... wonder if AGE has something to do with the slow recovery time??? LOL

I was looking at some of the old photos, too, Eva. Found photos I haven't scanned yet. Thought I had them all done but realize that I did a hit or miss on them... and skipped over lots of the photos. So, that is another project to add to my "to do" list.

Hello my lovelies!
I'm so frustrated! I was expecting Friday with such an enthusiasm, because after short jump to the office for a hour or less, I was finally able to save free afternoon time only for myself. Next week will start my summer projects, so I wanted to finish some of the amigurumis that are creepy storage, with half bodies. Unfortunately I'm totally disappointed! My hands was so clumsy, I'm not satisfied neither from the crocheting of the hands, nor embroidery the hair of my little Salvatore. He's the first amigurumi doll I'm trying and I was so excited. Now will have to redo the hands, and I'm scared to risk with the hair, so will make research how to improve it. I took some pics but it's gloomy and rainy so they not so clear.
kb.jpgku.jpg ok the back is good kz.jpg

Today is one of these holidays for mention our lost loved (I'm told you about them, they are a few during the year), so it's not appropriate any craft activity for home tasks different than cooking. With the rain it makes it perfect day for laziness. We invited my aunt, so to talk about my grandparents and do the traditional memorial things, but I skip going to the graveyard, as it's rainy and this is count for acceptable excuse.

Eva, thank you so much, this pattern is lovely!!! I put it in bookmarks and can't wait to try it (but will have to for now, as I have already started other projects)! Shadowing was difficult for me too. I had 2 online classes about it, from one site with tutorials, I can't remember the name, but still I have often doubts did I do it properly. It's sounds logical to me arm to be much hotter around the hole of the needle, because your body detect it as a door for infection and treat it with priority. Watch for allergic response there, but it's commonly, often happens to me with the cats and we aren't so different than them.

Chris, I adore to see you so happy! Sending you kisses! Use your alone time for something relaxing!

Kay, wow, I admire your patience to organize so many stuff at once! Don't forget to reward yourself for the well done job! Hope to feels better soon!

Cheryl, I bet that your plants are happy to talk again with you!

I've made FOUR layouts today. And not "easy" ones either, all four more on the complicated side with many layers and details. Haven't posted anyone yet, had older ones to post first. Have to check how many I've posted today, maybe I can post one of the new ones today?

But I think it's time for a movie and popcorn and a bit of crochet after that. If I can find any movie that we both want to see. It's not easy, cuz we have a bit of different taste when it comes to movies. Usually we can agree on some kind of action or crime movie. I'll browse through Netflix and see what I can come up with. Urban got to decide yesterday, and then we watched The Interpreter with Nicole Kidman and Sean Penn. Was ok, I was a bit shocked that Sean Penn actually was bearable in this movie. LOL

Now Urban says he wants to see a GOOD movie. Gee - that makes it harder. He loves more "artsy" deep movies. I want to be entertained, and don't like it too deep. LOL I was about to suggest some action or comedy. This looks like it will one of those nights when we spend more time choosing a movie than we spend on actually watching it. LOL

Eva, ''Benjamin'' is deep, meaningful movie, definitely artsy. And I don't recommend it only because my deepest love to Colin Morgan ;)! It was awesome movie about our inactivity to love. Also it's pride month so cover both artsy and trendy. Was on Netflix and Amazon.

Good afternoon my lovlies.

Chris, @faerywings sitting by the pool with your BFF for all those hours sounds absolutely divine!! I really miss having a pool more than anything! Just looking at a pool every day and sitting by it is so good for the soul. I'm happy that the last year we lived in Florida (before we moved here), we didn't have one, so I got to come down easy. We had always had one, but gave up a pool for 2 more bedrooms, to accommodate our growing grandson and his homeschooling needs. In Florida, pool homes cost so much more and if you get a larger home, and want to keep the price relatively the same, you have to lose the pool. :( Our DD and SIL are going to put in a pool, but it won't be done until next summer, at the rate things are going. It will be a short walk from our house to the pool, so I'll probably be up there a lot. Haha

Thanks for all of your get well wishes. We have Lila today so I'm not up to taking both of them for a walk. Did I tell you all about the huge hawk that was making a bead on Lila a few weeks ago? It scared me to death! She's only 12 pounds and they can easily swoop down and pick up a dog that size. Fortunately, we weren't very far from our house and I pointed to the porch and told her to "go"! She actually minded me and made a beeline for the front porch. It was very frightening. I'm so glad Daisy is so big. Felis @felis you and I had a discussion on Instagram about me letting Sam out. That's the main reason I can't! The hawks are up there a lot. They must have a nest nearby. A Bald Eagle has been spotted on the property, but I've not seen one.

Yes, my ferns were very happy to have some TLC. I went out a few minutes ago and gave them all some love.

Kay @BrightEyes you've done so much work! Sorry you found some that had been overwritten - that used to be so easy to do! If you didn't remember to take that little "tab" out - uh oh.

Eva @tanteva yes, shadowing is tricky. It took me a long time to feel like I had half way figured that out. My first digi layouts are actually humorous now when I looked back.

Chris @faerywings good luck with getting your life organized. If you master that, please pass your secret along. That's my plan almost every single day. I start, then something distracts me or I just plain get tired of it and quit.

I'm going to go scrap now. I have a whole day of no interruptions, so I'm going to take advantage of it.

Hugs and waving to all.

@felis I've taken a photo of the moss stitch here so you can see how cool it looks when you change colors.

IMG_20210620_101725web.jpg

With thin stripes it gets really interesting. I tried using three colors and change color on every row, that was really cool.

Just happened to order more yarn LOL 2 grab bags of cotton thread - total of 40 skeins. Had a coupon for 10% at the store. I've ordered these grab bags from this store before and it's always a great selection, and almost always 2 skeins of each color. The yarn I used above is from one of those grab bags. A great way to get a lot of colors to chose from.

It is a sleepy Sunday for me. I kept waking up last night and the sleep meditation I was trying to use was not helping. At one point you are visualizing putting all of your stressors into a hot air balloon to be released. The narrator says it might be one person or a whole parade of people. Then he reassures you - but that is ok, you've got your own parade! For some reason last night, that made me laugh and kind of ruined the almost asleep feeling. I did get back to sleep at some point but I did not want to get out of bed this morning.

I cleaned and tidied a bit yesterday. There is still too much stuff on my dresser that I need to put away. I have been trying on clothes and have stuff to be donated. I can only try on so much before I get depressed about how nothing fits. Blergh.
After lunch, I pulled the tall weeds from the edge of the road by my mailbox. Technically they are on my neighbor's side but they would not care and they make it hard for us to pull out of the driveway. Then I pruned the forsythia in the backyard. They grew so much since last year they were practically hanging over the firepit. It was just Gary and me for dinner so we ate leftover black bean burgers so I did;t have to cook. I wish I knew what to cook for Gary tonight for Father's Day... he said he didn't want anything special but still.

No plans for the day other than making Gary and our fathers' cards. Shhhhh- nothing like waiting to the last minute

Please tell all of the dads in your life that I am wishing them all a fantastic day!

@tanteva How is the heat in the arm today? Is it swollen too? I use Karen Shulz Drop Shadow Styles often. They are a good starting point and then I can tweak them to where I want them to be. I also end up creating a layer for the shadow and then transforming it a lot of the time. I love that kit of Lorie's, I always have a blast when I use her kits.
That is a fabulous feeling to look back over the past several years and feel that you have done and changed a lot for the better-- good for you!!! [high 5 smilie]

OT: When are we going to get new smilies, Powers That Be???? :D

Kay- ugh about the smoke and heat. Is any of that better today? I am willing to bet- not at all.
Age, what is that word you speak of? Age, shmage.. *rolls eyes a bit and laughs*

@felis Salvatore is so cute! What is wrong with his hand and hair, I think he came out great! How tall is he?
Thinking of you and your family as you honor your lost loved ones.

Eva- four Los! Wow! You are getting so much done!
I don't know if Urban would be interested in a series, but The Underground Railroad is *beautifully* filmed. Just gorgeous. I also don't know if the subject matter would be of interest but just for the cinematography, it is worthwhile.
Sean Penn is more tolerable than Nic Cage if you ask me. Not that it is a high bar to meet or anything! ROTF!

@Cherylndesigns If I could live somewhere I could see water every day... that would make me so happy. But I guess ya gotta put people in bedrooms over a swimming pool. ha!
So good to hear that you are feeling better. Yikes, I would be terrified to be out with Lila with a hawk around. We have hawks and a family of bald eagles in town but there is no way they would be able to pick up J! Lila is teeny though.
Sorry, no luck on getting my life organized (as I open up photoshop to make cards)

Eva- that pattern/swatch is gorgeous I love those colors! Enjoy the new yarns!

When it comes to scrapping, yeah .... you should see my house. I now have about 100 pets - 2 cats and 98 dust bunnies. :D

I do have a shadow style - from Miss Tiina. Probably 10 years old. I have to tweek it everytime, but it's a starting point. What I had forgotten about was making shadows on a separate layer and twist and turn. Been practising, and it looks decent. I think. Will post a layout soon. Just gonna give it another glance.

Then I really should scrap today's dinner, cuz DANG did it turn out great. Was just winging it, and wasn't expecting it to be so great. I diced (small dices) 1/2 zucchini, 1/2 onion, 1/2 bell pepper, 1 jalapeño and 3 cloves of garlic. Fried quickly in oil, added a bit of salt & right before I took from the stove, sprinkled it with a bit of lemon juice. Served with spaghetti, chopped cashew nuts & cherry tomatoes. Simple - yet divine.

Why does everyone hate Nicholas Cage?

Feeling less sore this morning... thank goodness! Going to be another scorcher - but then it will "cool" down to the high 90's this week. Only got to open the house for less than an hour before the temp was up to 80... I am missing our cool morning breezes. Thank heavens for the fans that keep the air moving in the house.

Watched some music specials I have on VHS tapes.... Frank Sinatra - A Man and his Songs; Frankie Vallee and the Seasons; and Dolly (Parton) and Kenny (Rogers). Nice way to spend last evening. The VHS inventory is paying off big time! BTW, Cheryl, I wasn't the one who taped over a movie I wanted to keep - that was Eva.

Eva, the veggies/spaghetti combo sounds delicious. May have to try that one of these days. LOL over your question about Nicholas Cage... I didn't like him in the first movie I saw him in - had more to do with the character he was portraying. He is definitely not the typical handsome leading man... but he is a good actor.

Hello girls!
We don't celebrate Father's Day here and it's something that dads complaining it's not fair, and I think with reason! Just an ordinary day without big plans. I found the full audiobook of ''Atomic Habits'' at Youtube and plan to give it try. I'm not a big fan of audiobooks as I get distracted very easily, but I don't want to be that one stupid chick finished only one book per year. I'm on the middle of the ''Vampire Diaries 2'' and at the beginning of 2 other novels, without any intentions to get back soon. So decided that have to try with something different. Will see...

Eva,

@felis Sounds like a movie I'd like. Will see if I can get hold of it.

the full movie is available on YouTube channel called MOVIETOON SERIES, but I don't know what are restriction in your country so don't want to put you in troubles by giving you the link. My country is haven for piracy, as my government looks on that as Robin Hood's move against the capitalist countries. But I know in other country can get in troubles for that so I'm careful.
Absolutely love this pattern, I'm so excited to try! Is it to bad to start another one project? LOL! Totally understand how you feels, I can't resist the discounts too! Do you have plans for these new yarns already?

Kay, wow, so hot! Then are you left the window opened at night (but when there is no smoke of course)? I love to listen the cricket songs at night time.

Cheryl, I was curious how you'll be able to keep a cat indoors when you have yard. They are very curious creatures. And I love gardening with them around. But aside from that my preference, to have apartments/indoor cats are totally fine! We had one for 18 years. Indoors cats have much better health, because not faced risks. I love to learn about different ways of gardening and pet care at different regions, created by the different environment. And I told you that on IG, but it's sounds a little bit scary place at that way, looks like you have lots of wild dangers around.

Chris, I'll have to organize my dresser again from spring to summer stuffs. Last year I didn't do that as it hasn't need from many fancy clothes mostly home tops. But fortunately looks like this summer will be different. Why you didn't show us the daddy's cards?
Pfff, hands looks so clumsy, will have to redo them. I'm using too thick yarn and it's not work good for these small details. But I have it left from other project and wanted to use it. As Eva I'm also got few bundles and used mostly leftovers for AmiguruMay. And the hairstyle was meant to be this 1624214136965.jpeg, but as you can see, nothing like this, not even close! He is 10 centimeters tall, google said that's 3.93 inches.
Yes, it was hard and sentimental day yesterday, but MUCH better today. Hey, are you try to fall asleep on Affirmations instead of meditation? I use this one at the moment.

Good afternoon all.

I feel so much better today! I just took Daisy on a short walk, but I think with her fur coat, she was ready to come home. The breeze is wonderful, even though it's very warm. We stopped along the way and just enjoyed the beautiful breeze. Actually, I'm waiting for Adrienne and Braden to pick me up and we're all 3 going out on their boar on Lake Tenkiller. I'm not sure I'm up to that, but at this point, I'm pushing myself to do things again. Adrienne promised she's go slow and not hit any wake from other boats. I can't stand that pounding that small boats get! I'll be sure to take pictures, as I've never been OUT on Tenkiller. I've been out on the piers and on the beaches, but not on the lake. It's huge and there are islands along the way. One of them is Goat Island, where there are actually wild goats. We're definitely not doing anything except "a slow float" today. Chuck didn't want to go and Roger left for his "other job" in Florida this am. Chuck is celebrating Father's Day by cooking dinner for the 4 of us. He LOVES to cook and will be happy as a clam to have the house to himself. The girls are gone - they went to Memphis with friends, so it's just the 4 of us.

Chris @faerywings don't feel bad - I have big ambitions every day and get nothing done. I can't wait until we have a pool practically in our back yard! I'll think about you when I'm soaking up there. They already have their hot tub in, but I'm not a big hot tub user. I'll leave that to them. It will be off the Master Bedroom anyway - kind of their private oasis.

Felis @felis We even buy Sam "Indoor Cat Food" he's gotten out a time or two (he sneaks out with the dogs) but he doesn't run off and we just pick him up and bring him back in. He has many, many windows to look out of and goes from window to window. He lays in front of the French doors in the kitchen when the sun sets and it's coming right in there. He actually chases the sun all day. He doesn't lack for windows to look out of and we have low, large window sills. He's definitely a happy cat. We have deep woods right at the edge of our back yard and if he got in there, I don't even want to think about that.

I'm going to go and upload the layout I made for Vero last night. I hope she likes it.

Hugs and around and Happy Father's Day to the guys.

No, I don't leave a window open at night as it in the mid-90's when I go to sleep. The fan runs all night and A/C runs as needed to keep the temp @ 80*.
