Wake up, sleepyheads, it is a beautiful Saturday in NJ!!!!
JK, you all can go back to sleep. It isn't like we have to be up early for anything in particular, right? haha!!
Actually, Scott has to be up soon, he has to go on a Field Trip today. He found out on Thursday that he hasn't officially graduated. His professor told the class that since they weren't going to be able to do the fieldwork portion of the class, they should mark it as an Incomplete and that she would figure out how to address it when grades were finalized. Turns out that it couldn't be done that way, so now Scott's class has to go do one more assignment, turn it in by the 15th so they can get credit and graduate. He isn't worried about the paper, it is just more of a pain in the butt.
Yesterday -- what did I do yesterday?
Really, what did I do? I was outside for a few hours. That darn beetles that eat my lilies are back and I had to scrape the larvae off of the leaves. It is weird, they already destroyed the plants that are closer to the road, so I had to cut them down. But the ones closer to the house were still ok and hopefully just removing the larvae will be enough. I will put some diatomaceous earth down too.
While I was outside, I saw a fighter jet fly overhead. It was much louder than a regular plane and while I have no idea what kind of plane is what, I could see the triangular wings easily. I am not terribly far from West Point where the Cadets are graduating today so perhaps it was on its way there?
I made quesadillas and homemade guacamole for dinner. I managed to get the 10 minutes of perfect ripeness of the avocadoes. Another 10 minutes later and they would have been brown mush ound: After dinner, we played Mario Kart. Scott used some of his graduation and birthday money to get a Nintendo Switch so he and Leah could play video games together while in quarantine. There is a Auto-Steering option so I don't have to worry about constantly running for the road. I didn't come in last place every time! That made it a lot less frustrating for me.
Nothing happening here today. I was thinking about going to the FP but I am good right now. I am concerned about second waves and not being to get groceries when that happens, but I think for now I am set. The panic of not being able to get food is much lower, thank goodness.
Gratitudes:
-the FP is there when I need it and the people that donate are appreciated
-gorgeous weather
-fun times with the family
