So I had decided I was going to do some shopping during the party. But .... gee .... how do you choose? So much goodies since I last "strolled down the isles"

Good morning ladies. Good news...with the new meds I feel some discomfort but it is tolerable so as long as we find out in two weeks that this is slowing/halting then this will be the meds I can stay on. We had some rain and a double rainbow yesterday. It only sprinkled for a few hours and then a thunderstorm with rain for about 30-45 min but it was the most rain I've seen since moving here. Of course, 10 min after it stopped, everything dried up and you'd never know it had even rained. I am heading out to the dog park soon while the temps are still in the 70's. Tomorrow it's back up to 90's but then cooling a bit for the rest of the week. I'm enjoying the slightly cooler temps b/c I know the 35-45° temps come in July/Aug.

For dinner we'll have wraps with greens, peppers, chicken and cheese. D will have potato salad. Easy peasy.

I'm going to go check on the party before heading out. I want to do the OOB challenge later.

HAGD everyone.

@Su_Sanne that's where she was...in Wolfsburg! I can't believe that. She went halfway 'round the world and toured a place where my friend (you) used to work! What a teeny, tiny world it is. This weekend they went to Bonn, Cologne and Duisburg. They go back to Osnabruck tonight and a couple of projects to finish up and present. Then they have a couple of going away dinners. She has really enjoyed her time there. This is the picture she sent to me of her time at the VW plant.

That's incredible, isn't it? Imagine if I was still working and gave her something for you personally. From my little place on earth to you across the ocean... She's a little beauty and now I'm quite sure she's made friends here in Germany. What a cute story to share!

Hi, all. Popping in for just a few minutes this AM. Doesn't feel right as I don't have a coffee cup with me. Been off of coffee for over 2 weeks since the Gastritis hit. But the good news is that I am back on a normal diet finally but still avoiding "spicy" food. Haven't worked on any of the Birthday stuff but managed to get 1 monthly challenge LO and 1 designer's new release LO done. Yes, mama Chris... I am taking it easy and not rushing. Just happy to be back to scrapping some.

The house seems quiet and empty the past week since DD#3 went back home. Have had someone here most of the time since March. But I have managed just fine - spending time reading and resting - only doing a few things as DD#3 had cleaned, vacuumed, mopped before she left. Have a couple of errands to run tomorrow or Tuesday.

Can see I need to go back and read what all has been going on with everyone since I have been MIA. Hope to be back to posting regularly soon. HAGD

Good afteroon party people.

I woke up early this am, took some Tylenol and stayed up for a little while, then laid back down for a couple of hours. I didn't get much sleep night before last, so I guess I needed a little extra sleep this morning. I hope everyone is enjoying the party so far.

Chris @faerywings I'm not sure how I'm doing it either - it has kept me hopping. When I took the last-minute challenge, I didn't realize it was Challenge 1 - right after the Avatar Challenge. That was a tight one - won't do that again. Yes, the avatars are still coming in and the OOB pages are coming in faster than I can comment in the gallery. I've loved seeing all of them though. It was just the back-to-back challeges that were a little hairy. You all have permission to use this if you see me doing anything like that again. :whip4: :floorlaugh:

So, a vegan wedding dinner????? Who knew??? There would be NO cheese - so we couldn't handle that. :floorlaugh: Dovegans drink wine? Or do they have vegan wine? That would be a killer for me, too. No cheese/ no wine. :floorlaugh:

I'm going to make this a quick in and out - I have things to do like go make comments. It's nice to see everybody in here today and Kay @BrightEyes very wonderful to see you pop in. That IS good news about being back on a normal diet. Can you drink tea? I had to switch from coffee to tea because coffee was really tearing my stomach up. I've gotten several different flavors - my new favorite is Ginger/Peach, and some of them (only Sleepy Time for me) don't even have caffeine, so you can drink them at night. The grocery stores are just FULL of any kind of tea a person could want. I'll bet your house IS quiet. Sending hugs.

Vicky @vickyday you could be onto something about the wifi glitching. It does seem especially slow here. I'm have some everywhere else, but it is worse here.

Hugs to everybody else. XOXO

Back......
I had pork chops and gravy in the crock pot for lunch, cooking while we were at church. Made some mashed potatoes when I got home and fixed Mark some broccoli spears. We have eaten, dishes are loaded in the dishwasher and I decided to post here before I do Mark's last load of laundry for the weekend.

So, yesterday, Mark worked on a shed in the back of the yard. The sides and roof were literally falling off. He came in for a lunch break and to cool off. It was getting hot as the shed is in the sun. Anyway, he worked for a couple more hours and I was finishing up the laundry, except for that last load of his. He came in around 3 to cool off and shower before we had to leave.

At 4:15 we got the text to head over to our pastor's house for our bike ride. We determined to go to Lakeview Family Restaurant on High Rock Lake not too far from us. The lake was busy yesterday. It was a beautiful day for a ride! It was a beautiful day to be on the lake! Some were even swimming! Not sure I would've been IN the water, but taking a boat ride would have been pretty fun!

Anyway, we spent about an hour at the restaurant eating and chit chatting and enjoying eating outside on the patio with a view of the lake. On our way home we hit flashing lights. The fireman directed us to take a detour as there was a serious accident on the road we were on. Our pastor was leading the way. But he was not sure where we were after we had to detour. He lead for awhile, hoping to see something familiar. When that didn't happen he suddenly took a side road and basically stopped after making the turn. We tried to pull up by him because a jeep was following us pretty close as we turned. Well, the ground was unlevel and slopped in such a way that Mark's footing could not reach the ground when we stopped behind the pastor and the next thing we knew we were on the ground. When I realized we were going down I leaned as hard as I could towards the road, but the momentum was overpowering and the bike toppled into the ditch. I don't think Mark got any bruising at all, but I jammed my right thumb into his back and my left leg banged onto the back of his seat. My thumb was hurting most of all and today is very stiff, swollen and bruised. It is not broken, just banged up badly. If the swelling doesn't go down in a day or so I will probably have it checked. My left leg is bruised on the inside of the calf and sore, and I discovered a bruise on the back of my left arm above the elbow when I lifted my arm while working on my hair for church.

Our pastor felt really bad but Mark said he could have made better choices, too. I told the pastor not to feel bad. It was just another one of those things the Lord allows us to go through in our life for whatever reason. I am just thankful that no one was hurt badly enough to go to the hospital...or worse. And the only thing that happened to the bike was the left mirror was broken when it hit the ground. Mark already has a replacement ordered. I'm also thankful my camera was hanging to my left side. If it had been on my right side, not only would it have hurt me, but it probably would have been broken. I'm not ready to spend that much money on a new camera yet! :camera:

It's amazing how much you use your thumbs without realizing it.....until it is hurt! OUCH!

Today is another pretty day! I'm ready to ride again! ;) :motorcycle1:

Thank You, Lord, for Your protecting hand!

Back to my laundry.....:laundry: and the party!:partyhorn:
