The end of July. This is *not* happening. Really!!
I knew that this was going to be a bit of a rough summer, but dang, not only is it rough, it is flying through my fingers, which are in desperate need of sand and salt water. I am kicking myself over and over about not going down the shore with BFF for the weekend back in May. Kicking myself til my butt is black and blue.:frusty:

But it is what it is and I need to start thinking about our Annual Redneck Vacation. Never any offense to Rednecks, as always, but when the vacation revolves around trips to Walmart, the county fair and playing Apples to Apples, it isn't your typical white sand beach or historical places kind of vaca. LOL. We are heading up to PA on the 11th- at night or first thing on the 12th. I will be able to have a few days of relaxing(-ish) so that it the prize I am keepin' my eye on.

Looks like we are going to have some rainy weather this weekend,. Sorry for anyone who had BBQ plans, but it is so needed here in NJ. And... it also keeps me inside to do what i need to do in here. heh. The sun came out yesterday and dried up all of the rain quickly. Spiders where climbing up water spouts everywhere. :spider:

I made some good scores for fruit at the Market- mangoes, gi-normous blackberries, blueberries, and some ginger slices for Gary's stomach.

Caitlyn and I are thinking about having a Rent Showing and Playtime with the Rats this afternoon. That will be nice. I was telling my mom about them yesterday and how funny they are. She couldn't believe that they have very different and distinct personalities, with Muffin being mellow and gentle and Clover the maniac. We call her the OCD ADHD rattie. Did i tell you how the other day, they were in the wheel, and Muffin is plugging along, and Clover climbs out, grabbing onto the edge and while Muffin is still running, flips herself upside down and all around on it? It was like the Zipper amusement ride. :pound:

Who has fun plans today? I know that Rae is enjoying her quiet time, hope the rest of you are doing what you love!

Thanks for the support for Caitlyn- I am wondering if next step in an immunologist? Gotta say it will be next to impossible to find one in her plan that isn't too far away. I feel like I need a diagnostic team- like House, MD!

Rae- enjoy the weekend! The trip/drive sounds beautiful and I hope that you have all of the best weather. Are you taking your new lens? Bet you will get some stunning pics!

jean- that class sounds perfect for you, and I am sure that you added some knowledge and interaction as well. You are so good at what you do.

Trudy- hope you and Your Gary enjoy the downtime this weekend, Sorry to hear that your MIL's b-day is becoming a pain for you.

good morning! I slept until 8 this morning. Had a good lazy day. Scrapped and had fun with Luther. While out on our morning walk he was not having much luck in finding rabbits so on the way home we found one of his friends Bailey out in his yard and the two went crazy playing. He had such fun and so did Bailey. Bailey owner are so nice. He came home and went to the basement and I did not see him until after lunch. LOL. He has found a new game he like to play. Fetch. But he is so crazy that he likes to drop the ball so it rolls under the couch and he can't then get it. So I have to - I think he is training me LOL. Had very nice evening walk too. Now my DH has him out on a long morning walk. Now he has his dog license he can go to the doggie park. Should be interesting to hear how that turns out. Today should be pretty calm. More scrapping.

Chris I too can't believe how fast this summer is going. I can already tell the days are getting shorter. I hate that! Cracks me up to hear you playing with rats. Your vacation sounds fun! Glad you have that to look forward too.

Rae enjoy this weekend. I can't wait to hear how the new lens worked.

Jean I saw the page of the campus where the class was held. What a gorgeous flower. If you are gong to be taking classes it is awesome to have such pretty surroundings. Bet you learned a lot!

Trudy good to see you here! So glad the visit is going so well. My sister after having her grandkids is too worn out but really happy! Sorry the birthday plans not going well.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... It seems like forever since I have actually had some time to myself to be here and catch up with all of you! I miss my "O" family very much! Yesterday was a scorcher of a day and we went to Naniamo to have our annual Calico Cat Tea Reading luncheon/shopping day! It was very nice and everyone had wonderful readings!! Mine was very good and she talked a lot about how devoted DH and I are to each other and she said that she saw a for sale sign on our nieighbours house, so I hope that it was on the BAD Neighbours house!!! and I hope it happens very soon!! LOL She also said that I would be doing a cruise to Alaska, which we are really hoping to do and should start making the plans quickly as it would be a September run for our Cruise. My days have been filled with lots of fun and laughter and many hours of 3 year old playtime. Double work for me as I also have to help out my DD with many things and get her out to do the things she waits to do all year. DH has not been able to get holiday time this summer so it makes it even more difficult to not have his help with things around here. But it is all good and we are having an amazing time together!! DS and his family are now all moved into their new house and Heather, Jonah and Mason have gone for a visit to spend a couple of nights with them so they can all get to know each other a bit better again. It really sucks that they are so far away from each other!! So this weekend is all about cleaning up the house and yard and spending some down time with my hubby. Shopping for groceries of course to fill up the fridge again and get ready for next week. By the time August 15th comes around I will be one worn out grandma!! But a very happy one!! :becky:

Chris - So glad that you are at least getting to have your Redneck vacation time this summer!! Still hope that you get to spend at least one day out on the beach and get your toes in the sand!! Have fun with your rat playtime this afternoon, sounds like you and Cait will have a good time together a perfect way to spend the rainy afternoon watching Rent!! Enjoy!

Nancy - Nice to have a great sleep in! I haven't had one in a while lol!! Sounds like you wore Luther out with his playtime with Bailey and then playtime with you fetching the ball for him :becky: Can't wait to hear how the morning at the Dog park went for Luther now that he has his doggy licence! Enjoy your scrapping day today, I think that it will be like starting all new again for me when I finally get a chance to sit down and open up my photoshop and do a page. Yes the days are already getting much shorter, sad how quickly summer flies by!

Rae - I hope that you are enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend and you are doing something that you love!

Jean - It sounds like your class in advanced genealogy writing was a great learning experience for you. I will have to go back and try to catch up with all that has been happening with you and everyone else soon. I hope that your much needed rain turns the brown grass to green again!

Ok everyone I better get in the shower and get started with my cleaning up and laundry, shopping etc. Have a super fun weekend and do something you love today!!

You all sound so busy, and I'm still trying to decide what to do today (or which library to visit.) I too can't believe July is about to exit and, yes, lamenting the shorter days already! Oh well, have to get it in gear now.

Hope all your weekends are happy and good weather. I've got to pick up a DVD on hold at the library so we can watch "Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot." I don't seem to have that much of a sense of humor anymore, but think we will enjoy Tina Fey.

Happy Humid Sunday! :)
We had a lot of rain come through yesterday, which cooled the temps off a bit but it is still so darn humid.

Aside from my time with Cait and the rats, it was kind of a quiet day. I did a bit of house work. With both dogs in the small LR area, and that they shed so much- well it is actually all Ray who has that thick Lab coat- it looked like the rug was black instead of beige ha!! I vacuumed in there and it is literally maybe an 8x10 area, and I had to dump the vac container out twice.

The rats were so funny hanging out of the bed with us while we watched Rent. They are just so freaking sweet! If I didn't know that Muffin's personality is so mellow I would worry, she was so content lying in the crook of Cait arm for almost 2 hours. She has freaked us both out that she will tip over onto her side, and then just stay that way. Take about heart stopping for a second!

Today is another quiet one for the most part. I have a couple of busy days ahead with drs for Caitlyn. So I have to get ready for the week and food shopping and flipping over and updating calendars. Nothing very exciting but that is fine by me.

Hope that all of you have a wonderful day ahead!

Nancy- oh how nice to sleep late! I slept late today too- almost 7am- which is 2-3 hours late than I had been.
Love Luther's game of Fetch, and I bet he is training you to go under the sofa hahah!! I miss playing fetch with Jaida, she is the only dog we have had who got the concept of bringing the toy back. Ever Ray, the Labrador *Retriever* has no clue. I miss the dog park too :( But I bet Luther had a blast!
I hate that the days are getting shorter too, I am trying to convince myself that at night-- it is just cloudy LOL
The vacation isn't really all that fun, but more of a tradition. We have been going to the county fair now for (holy craps!) 18 years. I was pg with Cait when we first started going. No, that can't be!!! :faint:

Trudy- how fun for your Tea Reading- all of the things she saw sound fun- are you really going to go on a cruise to Alaska? that would be awesome (too cold for me though ha!)
How is Heather doing with Mason now that he is getting older? It is harder or not? Bet it depends on the day and his mood. *grins*
Ohhh! My mom and I have a plan for the shore-- after the season ends, rates go way down on motels. We are thinking of getting a motel room for one night. So we will head down to a beach in the morning, stay overnight and then head back home in the afternoon.
I hope it all works out!

Jean- "which library" sounds like a good question to have. I need to get over to my library soon too. I can't wait for out new library to be finished and open. It is in the process of being built.
with you 100% about not having a sense of humor anymore. My family tells me that a lot. Hope the movie and Tina Fey made you laugh.

xoxo

good morning - OMgosh Chris it is so HUMID. Just got back from walking Luther and whew it was sticky out there. Luther had a great time at the dog park. He pretty much just ran when the other dogs ran. Came home and was one tired puppy. He was busy all day so he was exhausted by night. Me I had fun watching all happy movies on the Hallmark channel and then some baseball. And of course scrapping!

Chris glad you had a calm day. Hope today goes equally well today too! It is good to be getting rain! I bet your flowers are happy!

Trudy wow sounds like you have been so happily busy! Love that you do your tea leaf reading. Sounds good for your future!

Jean I am totally interested in how was the movie. I read the book and I was not all that impressed. Tina Fey is great though.

Have a great day all.

Good morning, ladies. We had a relaxing fun day yesterday. We headed out in the early morning and took the scenic route along the coast, to Anacortes Island. It was a beautiful sunny day. We walked through the outdoor market and bought some yummy fudge and gluten-free cookies, then went to an outdoor restaurant for lunch so Taz could sit with us. It was a bit pricey but worth it to be outdoors at the marina. Stopped for a quick shopping trip in Fred Meyers (got 2 lightweight sweaters on sale) and got some bacon/stuffed burgers for dinner and a carrot cake. We decided to try a new drink so got some "not your father's root beer" and will have a few as I lay out on the deck later and read my book (with maybe an afternoon nap out under the shade of the deck). We were happy and tired after dinner and spent the evening relaxing, watching a Harry Potter marathon. I'll do a bit of scrapping this morning, take Taz for a run in the field and then will relax in the adirondack chair on the deck for a few hours. It should be a lovely quiet day. We'll head back as early as we can get out of here tomorrow morning as the border traffic will be very busy and I need to get home to get a few hours of work done to finish up what came in on Friday that I didn't get a chance to finish, and then the kids are coming for a BBQ for Jen and Darrell's birthday celebration.

Chris - a redneck holiday sounds good to me. I agree, the summer is flying by.

Nancy - Taz too like to play with the ball or small toys and slides and shoves them under the furniture and then stretching and paws at the furniture to get it out which he can't do so then we get the imploring looks to come and retrieve the toy or ball for him. Silly dog.

Trudy - enjoy your family time, we miss you! I absolutely recommend the Alaska trip, it's expensive but a wonderful picturesque cruise. It's quieter than the tropical party cruises we've been on and often rains a lot but I'm so happy we got to go last year and will never forget it.

Jean - enjoy the movie, I like Tina Fey too but haven't seen that movie yet.

Going to grab a second coffee and maybe scrap a challenge now. After my super busy couple of weeks, I'm enjoying this quiet time. Have a wonderful day, everyone.
