HelloooooO my darlin's!
Happy weekend to all of you. We have a wonderful one on tap here. I wish I could bottle up this weather and keep it with me and unleash it occasionally during the winter. Mid-80's, lowish humidity... just fab!

Yesterday, I made it to the lake around noon. I had stopped at the vets on my way to get the heart worm pills, threw them in the pocket of my cooler and went off. I get to the lake, dragging my stuff, and the woman who runs the lake says hi, how are you...
I get to my spot, start unpacking my chair, and she makes an announcement that if someone is missing a cell phone, that it is at the first aid table. I look in my bag- no phone, but damned if I can remember even putting it in there. I go to my car to see if it fell out, and no phone and no heart worm pills. I am laughing and I ask her if the phone was claimed, nope- b/c it was mine. I joke that it I could only find the heart worm pills. There is one of them, a few feet away in the sand. And then the other one a few feet past that! Only I could lose a cell phone and two expensive heart worm pills within *minutes* of getting to the lake. :pound:

Today, my mom is picking me up and we are heading down to a grocery store that has really good, fresh fruits and veggies. I also hope that they have some nuts that I can buy smaller amounts of- Cait and Gary eat a ton of nuts, but dang, so expensive! But they are healthy and Cait esp needs that protein. I also want to get some pignolis for a recipe, but I don't want to spend $12 for a small bag. I wonder if there is something else I can substitute? I can't think of anything ATM.

I hope that all of you are having a great day!

xoxo!

Jean- that is wonderful news about your sister!
Good to hear that you are enjoying the nice weather too.
Haven't Sharon's LO been amazing!? :hail:

Sharon- good for you for just enjoying your golf game. I am so sorry to hear about DS's dog. I get that, soooo hard to lose a pet. I am not crazy about pugs, they are absolutely adorable in a very weird way, but they are bred for such ridiculous characteristics. Of course, I am not crazy about "breeded" dogs, but that is a whole 'nother soapbox issue I will spare you all from. :tape: :D
Brendan is feeling better, and I think I overdid it on Thurs and yesterday was not as good a day for me. I will never get the idea of pacing myself. SMH
Mocha noises! Yum!!!

Astrid- welcome back! I hope that things cool off for you. This weather is so weird.
Congrats to your daughter!!! I can't wait to see your LOs of her. She is so beautiful and I love seeing your pages of her.
I was thinking about you last week. My local paper ran a story about Ramadan. NJ is known for its 24 hour diners, so Muslin teenagers have been using social media to get together at 3am for breakfast (IIR there is a special word for the feasting??). It sounded like such an amazing way for the community to get together, esp. since it is all being done through Twitter. How neat is that?
Enjoy your "health week" too.

Hugs and :tea: to all!

good morning and it is a gorgeous day. Lots of sun and low humidity! I have had 3 great days of riding my bike. Today as it is a weekend and lots of people are out I will probably just walk. I have been motivated by watching the TdF and today is the last race day. Yesterday finally the lawn company came and cleaned up my yard. OMgosh it looks so good. I even took the kitty out to the back yard as all the grass and weeds are gone. Now I have to decide if I want them to come in Sept and plant some perennial shrubs and fix the grass. This lawn company is so funny every time they come I am never home. Yesterday I just finished the bike ride and there they were. Had a great talk on Friday with my sister and we just laugh. My son is off again to DC. She was going to come up but alas I have no air conditioning so he went south. I have finally finished scrapping my vacation to Florida. I just have to decide if I am going to add the hockey pages or put them in my hockey album - ah such decisions. I am going to be spending time upload to Flickr and my hard drive. Good to have them backed up and good to have them off my main computer. But the big news is that the President and past GM of my NJ Devils Lou Lamoriello resigned from my Devils to take the GM position for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Shocked but most of all I was shocked when Lou gave up the GM position of the Devils. He had been with the team for 28 years. It is sad to see him leave but so far I have liked the changes the new people have added. I like that they want the fans to be more involved. It is pretty much a complete change of upper management. I just hope this positiveness I am seeing with upper management translates to the players and I see more wins.

Chris so glad that you are getting time at the lake. Sounds so relaxing. Glad you recovered the phone and heart worm pills. And these days in the summer are just awesome! Glad that Brendan is doing better!

Jean so glad that you sister is doing so well and that you can help her with her new computer!

Sharon you game of golf sounds fun. Sounds like the good play on some holes draw you in to continue playing even with so off play on others. So sorry about the loss of a pet!

Astrid enjoy the week. So sorry that it has been so hot. We are expecting a heat wave next week.

Have a great day all!

This sounds really great Chris to have breakfast together in Ramadan. The arabic word for this is "suhur".

By the way it´s my husbands health week, not mine. I´m not as old as I need this now *hahah*(just kidding )
Sounds good to stop at the lake but how could you loose your phone and the pills:shocked:

Had to LOL at your phone/pill story, Chris. Okay to laugh since they were found. Glad you had such a nice day.

Another day off for me today, and I'm glad for it. Tomorrow we babysit Clara all day starting at 7:00 a.m. Her brothers are in a big swim meet in the morning, then they all leave for Oregon straight from swimming. Julie is giving talks 3 or 4 days in a row at a meeting of fertility doctors. The guys are going to play (lots of biking). The care of Clara is being shared among those whom she loves, so not too demanding on anyone.

Nancy, I'm "wid ya" on leaving the bike home on weekends! Glad you got in so many nice rides. Your yard sounds so nice...glad kitty got to venture out for awhile.

Thanks for the nice words about my LOs. I've sure been having fun... AND won another $5 coupon for Anna's store from Mr. Random (last week's Anna Lift). That's a very good thing. Anna keeps producing artwork faster than I can buy it!

Hi Astrid, and good morning/afternoon to all of you!
Remember what I said about having a rough time knowing how to pace myself? Yesterday was a bad! I was really good out and about with my mom. We went to two stores and got tons of fruits and veggies and nuts. Raspberries and strawberries for $1 carton each. A purple cauliflower (yes, purple! It looks so pretty!) for $1.50. Pluots, and apples- .99/lb. Crazy good deals. I was starting to feel it after the second store so we decided to head back home, unpack the groceries and grab a slice of pizza.
Unfortunately timing was bad and my IL's pulled in right behind us. They were at their cousin's garage sale up the mountain and stopped in afterward. So we couldn't leave and I couldn't nap. Then Scott got upset -- we have his LLMD appt tomorrow and he is frustrated about being sick all the time ( I get that!!)
I have to post this-- gary needs to reboot the net!

good morning - Well it is starting feel more like summer - the humidity and temperatures are on the rise. Today Shadow my cat would hardly let me finish breakfast before she wanted her morning walk around the yard. This year in my neighborhood we have had more rabbits well I now have two babies and the cat was having fun stalking them. Yesterday got in two good walks. One was an errand as I wanted a bagel for lunch the other was just to enjoy the outdoors. Well today is the last day of the Tour de France and Chris Froome has won the race but barely as Quintana took over a minute on the race up the mountain but it was not enough and Froome won by a little over a minute. What is amazing is that this is a 3 week race and only a little less than a minute separate winner and 2nd place. The sad part is there were a lot of riders that could not finish either with injures or sickness. Anyway today's stage is race in Paris and I will never forget just how much fun I had when I was there watching. Watched some baseball and I got a start on backing up my photos. I was walking and stopped for a nice chat with a neighbor and she recommended a new author Nevada Barr who writes mysteries but the cool thing is the mysteries all take place in national parks in the United States. I downloaded the first book and wow it is really a good read.

Anika good to see you up! Enjoy the visit of your parents! And most importantly have a great time scrapping.

Chris hope you had a lovely Sat. Did you make it to the Lake?

Sharon have fun with Clara. I am sure she will love all the attention.

Have a great day all!

Sorry about that, at least he gave me warning this time. :D

So, back to my day if anyone cares... ha!!! Let's just say it was long and exhausting and stressful. And to top it off, Jaida was barking at something on and off last night from 1-3 am. Might have been a bear or some other wildlife. Ray was looking out the window with a few barks here and there. Then Jaida was literally like a toddler. You know how a toddler cries herself to sleep and still whimpers? She was doing that. She was a sleep but every other breath was a soft "woooof" - which, while adorable- kept me awake.
I am even more tired today, and not feeling so good. But I have coffee in me which is always a lovely thing.:tea:

Nancy- the weather has been great for bike riding! Not so much today but you got some good rides in which is wonderful.
bet your yard looks amazing, I wish I had the energy today to work in mine before the rain. Go for the perennials!
I hope that the positive changes for the Devils get you lots more wins this season too.

Astrid- thank you for supplying the correct word for me. :)
If your hubby is going away for a health week, that is one less person for you to have to worry about, so it can be a health week for you too :D

Sharon- got your email, will read your article next, TFS!
Enjoy your day with Clara!! I am sure the $5 coupon will go to good use!

hugs to everyone!

Hi Nancy! Bunnies! OMG- we have a family of bunnies that love to be in the yard every morning between 6-7am which is when Jaida needs to go potty. Or, *says* she does. I think she has a good sense of timing, because as as soon as I get her out the door, she spies them and tries to chase them, with me attached to the leash.
I worry that she could catch them and that would not be good. :(

I am going to have to check out that author-- she sounds neat!

I'd better get going, today is my Forever-IV day, so I need to get some house stuff done, esp. since I will be gone all day tomorrow.
