Happy weekend!!!!

Yesterday was a pretty darn good day. I got paid by my friend for driving her son to camp-- way more than I expected and I was even able to get gas on my home. I walked 2 miles with my friend on the track, which is much nicer to walk on than the road. i found $50 in my purse. I must have gotten paid and shoved it in there and forgot about it.
And I went to the lake and spent the majority of the 4 hours I was there just floating along with my friends.

On the down side, Gary finally took his car in for service- its been practically un-driveable for months. The power steering belt was shredding and he thought that maybe the alternator was bad. (Expensive!). Turned out to not be the alternator but some turny-thingy (like my very tech words?? ha!!!) that connects to the alternator and power steering belt. Still cost $250, but I'll take that over the alternative alternator issue. :D

Today is my last day of Tindamax, yipeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Thank goodness b/c even all of my finger joints are painful. That was really nice about floating int he lake- so much relief from the joint pains.... I told Gary that we need a hot tub-- in the Living Room..... ;)

I am off to walk with my friend in a few minutes. Then it is housework. And then it is waiting for the heat wave to break.

Love to you all!!!

Morning Chris... so quiet here today!! Guess everyone is out enjoying the weekend! Isn't it just like winning the lottery when you find extra money in your wallet!!! (well maybe not quite as good) but hey its an extra 50 that you never thought you had!! :becky: Sorry that Gary's car will cost so much to fix, but at least it beats having to buy a new one right? Floating all afternoon in the lake sounds heavenly and I'm so glad that you got to do it!! I haven't even stuck my big toe in the water yet this year. Hopefully sometime this weekend we will. Ok I am off to get breakfast and then we have some painting to do on the fence and grocery shopping  I would rather be on the beach!! Hope you get a chance to get a page or two done for the summer challenges, the layouts so far are awesome!!! Enjoy your day my friends

I MADE A PAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!!! it's a pretty basic one, but I have to begin again gently, or i'll SCARE MYSELF!! :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :bolt:

Chris, I love how your day sounded. especially the floating and the 50 bucks. that qualifies as a good day, the turny-thingy notwithstanding! :becky:

Trudy, your day sounds a little like mine, except Hubby would never be along for the grocery shopping. i'm afraid he's in for a rude awakening when he retires....

not much going on here. I thought it was going to be cooler than it is, so I have the AC on again. hopefully TOMORROW will be cooler. i'm still without a car, so i'm feeling a bit TRAPPED. even though I hadn't PLANNED to go anywhere today, I at least like to feel like I have the OPTION of going somewhere if I wanted.

Hubby made me mad a few hours ago, so I decided to order pizza for dinner instead of cooking. HA!! that'll show him!! :cheer2:

enjoy your day. every day!

It really *is* quiet inhere. I feel like I need to get some pots and pans and make some noise!:director::drum::horn:

How's that??

Yippeeeeeee, (yappy yahooey!) heat wave broke!!!!!! I think this is the first morning in a week that is is not in the 80's when I wake up. And we have open windows! No AC! The only big bummer is that we didn't get any rain. All of the storms stayed well south of us. We don't need rain for the water table ATM but my lawn (weeds) and gardens sure are dry.

Today I am going to get some ground cover moved. It is taking over one area and there is another area that is pretty bare. I have no idea of what the plant actually is (it could be just another weed LOL). It has green and purple-ish leaves, gets tall purple stalky-flowers in spring and spreads on runners. Any ideas?

Not much else going on with me. There are so many new summer challenges and I really need to try ome of them. Maybe that will help the mojo.

PHYLLIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woooooot!!!!!! fantastic news about scrapping a page!!!!!!!!!

Trudy- did you get any down time? Water time? I hope you did, becasue it really is so rejuvenating.

Phyllis- heheh!! Good for you, ordering pizza! Hope you weren;t too made at the hubby. And I know what you mean about the idea of not being able to go somewhere if you wanted too. That bites... but you can escape today if you need to right?
Hope it is cooler by you today too!

Morning friends... I am up very early and MG is still sawing logs in the bedroom  but we are heading to the Beach today and are hoping to enjoy a nice day together walking along Rathtrevor beach and a picnic lunch, if we feel up to it then we really should hit Costco on the way home, the feezer is getting bare!! It might be our only chance to get away for a while as the kids and grandkids will be home soon and this next week will be spent getting rooms ready and meals planned etc.

Chris - Hope your mojo gets rejuvenated with the summer challenges, it got me going again!! Stop making all that racket would ya?? :becky: You woke Phylis and I up LOL. Hmmm not sure what your ground cover is?? Perhaps a pic would help? Enjoy being out in the garden without having that blasted humid hot weather!!

Phylis - Wooohooo you scrapped a page!! I have to go check it out! Bet its a beauty!! You are such a great scrapper!! Thanks for the utube video, it was great!! Don't you just hate the humidity, we don't get too bad here, but when we do, it just saps your energy!
Hope you get to do something fun today!!

Ok off to get some more coffee and a bit of breakfast before packing up the van to hit the beach, it will be nice to get out of here even if its only for day trip! Have a great day everyone!!

Well...hello my sweet O family

I know I am a flake for never being in here...but I just don't have time....that's the honest truth!!!! Most days I am lucky if I remember to even go to the bathroom when I am suppose to  When I am on the computer...I just want to scrap....IMAGINE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vacation Bible school starts tonight...so I will be running every night this week for that....They are truly excited...

Well...don't faint...but Mike and I are going to see Alison (the grumpy step daughter in TN) in a couple of weeks. Things were better...but she got really grumpy again last month when we went to TN last month and didn't go see her....it's just hard to make others understand that there are good reasons.....we had four kids, very little time and three anxious grown ups...would not have made for a good visit. Anyway...Sharon is going to come here and stay with the kids for the weekend so we can go visit.

We finally dried everything out in the basement....I have to get someone in to assess the damage to the walls....the floors are done...we have a new plan for those this time around...so that we never have to worry again....they make this really cool concrete paint that you can make gorgeous floors out of the concrete. But the walls...well...looking at them, you would think we had two feet of water down there..but it's just where they were sucking up the water.

Besides football and gymnastics and the start of a new school year coming up...that's about it for me :becky:

PHYLIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TURN ON THE AC............WHAT THE H@#L are you waiting on?? I say BE COOL...pay the price..it's soooooooooooo worth it!!! The high here yesterday was 85...which is not terribly hot..but like you, the humidity was so high you couldn't stand to walk outside.

Chris.....Yep..hot tub in the LR sounds good to me....I ache all the time now..all the rain has been awful for the arthritis!!! But YAY for the good day at the lake and all the FOUND money

Trudy...I want to come with you to the beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE THE BEACH!! feet in the warm sand...that takes all the pains away!! even if it's just in my head :pound: Enjoy my canadian sister!!! enjoy!!!!

NAAAAANAAAAA!!! so good to see you in here!! i miss you ever day, but i know things are crazy busy with you. keep on keepin' on. and remember us!

Trudy, i looked up that beach where you're going. GORGEOUS!! wish we had some scenery near where i live. but it's all green and rolling hills of various sizes, or boring flatness for hundreds of miles in any direction. hope you're having a beautiful time.

lOve the O!
Evening all I was MIA as my husband drove in the pouring rain yesterday from 630am to 130pm to get me to my family reunion- everyone was surprised that we came. I had a great time visiting, took very few photos- it kept pouring rain while we were there and I didn't to get my camera out. I did have a great niece take photos of us siblings on my phone for me. We went out to dinner at a cool restaurant- why is it all the decent restaurants are 7 hours away. Today sunny weather for driving back. While we were gone yesterday we got 2" of rain. I will have to mow this week, but not water!! I need to sort pics and do some of those new challenges I see! Oh and if you want an amazing easy texas sheet cake /brownie recipe - mix two of the ghiridelli dark chocolate brownie mixes for a 13 by 9 pan. When they come out frost first with marshmallow fluff and then when they have cooled a bit, use dark chocolate frosting on top. MMMMMM
