Happy bright, sunny day from New Jersey!
I am trying to stay warm at the moment but I know it is going to get very hot and humid later on.

So good news and sad news- The sad news is that John Lewis died. We need more people like him, although I guess with the protests still happening every day since the end of May, we do.
The good news is that mom is feeling much better. I talked to her twice yesterday and she sounds so much clearer and rested than she has in weeks. Remember how worried I was about her when she came up on my birthday? I was so concerned. (she should listen to me more, dammit!)
She will be in probably until Monday.

It never rained yesterday, it was only a bit misty here and there. The heat is going to dry everything up for sure.
I did a bit of housework, spent some time with Cait working on a puzzle. Scrapped a page that I am not sure if I like or not. Same old, same old!

Today Caitlyn and I running to the FP, I hope that they have coffee. We are down to our last can. Yard work and guzzling water.

Gratitudes:
-roof over my head
-family that loves me
-The O!

Nancy- Same here with the weather, it was chilly, but isn't going to last. We never got that second round of rain and the sun was out by 3-ish.
Oh my goodness, what a mess that must be for Edmonton and the arena. Can we take that as a sign that hockey can wait? If I were a player, I wouldn't want to play either. I am sure you saw the news about RBG? My heart *dropped* when I read that. I will *not* say anything about the progression of bad things in 2020 but can we please just write the rest of 2020 off and move on to 2021?
Not thrilled with the shorter days either. Boo.
hahah!! My kids were joking about the same thing-- good timing with my parents needing a break from each other!!

Trudy- I still can't get over that you can do online shopping and pick up in the same day. I hope that the produce was better for you this time around.
Pizza sounds very good. Did you have burgers last night or hot dogs?
Thanks for the good thoughts for my mom, I am sure that at some point things will get better with the virus (just not in the US).How wonderful that Heather's vacation weather will be so nice. :D
The painting is very much out of your normal style--was it hard to do?

Kay- sending you hugs and love!!

Jean- that is neat that you got to see the comet-- a change of pace if nothing else right? Yeah, my mom would want to see us if we could get in our hugs but she is happy talking to the kids and to the rest of us on the phone. She sent my dad up to PA to check the house (I am sure that it is still there LOL).
Oh that stinks about the wiring! You don't want to cause an electrical problem with an AC. And go for it, whine all you want! The classes start on Monday? I hope that the heat doesn't fry your brain too much this weekend, stay cool as you can

Chris, it was something different. So much so that driving home after dark while stopped at a light another driver told us the tail lights were out, in fact no lights. Last time DH had the car in for service they had turned the lights from auto which we are so used to. And this was probably the first time we were out after dark in four months!!!

The classes do start Monday morning! Mostly looking forward to it. In just a bit I'm hosting a Zoom session for the first time for a genealogy user group. Always something.

Glad your mom is doing well (and getting Dad out to PA). Good luck at the FP.

Morning ladies... another sunny day here, it will be a good outdoor day! I was happy to get my groceries yesterday and got everything that I had on my order! Actually the produce was really nice and probably better than what I would have picked out LOL. I of course forgot to order two things  How could I forget to get my raspberries and strawberries??? Oh well I might run out to the farm market and get local ones. They always taste better anyway! I did manage to get a page done yesterday and I hope to do another at some point this weekend. Next week is my last week of having the house to myself for two weeks anyway. DH is taking some vacation time and we are not planning to do too much except work around here and get some painting done to the outside of the house. Oh and we promised ourselves that we would go on a whale watching tour. I am very excited about that! It should be much less busy to do it now and hopefully we see as many whales as Heather and Jonah did on their trip! I have been busy working on a few projects for SIL Linda too. I got one done the other day, it is two old signs that she found behind her place discarded there by the company that built the complex she lives in. The signs said display home and the complex is called quails gate. They were pretty gross looking with lots of dirt and yuck on them, but I got them all cleaned up and changed the wording on the one. She is giving it to her neighbours for a Christmas gift to hang on their back gate and the other she is keeping for herself. Anyway here is what the one looks like now. Wish I would have taken a photo of the before darn it!! The original was just plain white with a border the same colour as the quail so I added texture and colour and spruced it up a bit.

I will be busy doing stuff around here with my Gary and hopefully we can get out for a bit of walk or hike today. Tomorrow we are thinking of going to see the In-Laws and spend a day on the beach enjoying the lake and visiting! We will see what the day brings I guess.

Chris - Good luck at the FP today, what puzzle are you and Cait working on now? We ended up having burgers last night :hungry: my fav, loaded with cheese mushrooms and bacon. (no bun for me). I am glad to hear that your Mother is continuing to improve! A much needed rest and time alone for her I am sure! Yes she should listen to you more dammit!! LOL. I hope you have a lovely day!

Jean - Lucky you to see the comet! I tried the other night, but it was just too cloudy to see anything at all. Yikes on the lights not being on in your car, but I guess you would never know if you weren't out driving at night for so long LOL. Hope your Zoom session goes well and that the heat is not terrible for your upcoming classes!

Ok DH is wanting to have coffee on the deck, so off I go! Have a great day ladies and I hope that the weekend brings you something fun to do!

Welcome to the Sunday Jungle!
Feels like a jungle here, up to 93* and humid. It was like that yesterday too. It didn't stop me from working out back for 2.5 hours however. I was very happy pulling weeds and raking the little trail into the woods. The "trail" is just a tiny space that we made that winds between a few rocks to get into the main part of the woods. Acorns and leaves pile up on it some usually I rake it in the spring. I never got around to it and we have to use that trail to get to the wildlife camera that we have set up.

I forgot to tell you the update of what we have seen this week. We moved it a little farther into the woods and we have a really good spot now. Earlier this week, we saw the usually squirrels and deer but we also saw a groundhog, another raccoon, a fox and... a bear!!!!! :whoo: That was the first bear that we have seen in the back this year. Caitlyn and I saw one once when we were driving down the mountain a month but that has been it.
The videos we got from yesterday were not as happy. It started out that we saw squirrels and the fox. Then the raccoon. Then the fox again. Then the fox and raccoon together, which did not end well for the raccoon. Cait was so upset and while we know that this is the whole "nature needs to survive" bit, it is still sad to see it happen. I guess we never considered that part of watching wildlife when we set up the camera. I think we might have Gary screen them before we sit and watch together.

I was very happy at the FP- I was able to get chicken breast, lettuce, coffee, and a gallon of vinegar. I was most excited about ther vinegar because I have been having trouble getting that from the store and we use it to clean the hot water coils off the furnace. other than that, not much else happened. we detached History of the World Part 1 last night with the kids. Cait had never seen it before. Mel Brooks is a genius. Over the top, pushes the buttons, comedic genius.

Nothing happening here, I have to keep an eye on Gary, his stomach has been really bad the last few days. Worse than normal, I should say. I will probably spend some more time out in the yard.
In a different world, we would be on board the cruise ship right about now. :(

Good thoughts, hugs, love and joy to all of you today!

Jean- that is always good to do something different. But I have to chuckle a bit about the car lights! Enjoy the classes, so excited for you.
My dad called a few minutes ago-- I "didn't hear it from him," but her kidneys were so bad that were starting to shut down. So her bit about them being "concerned" about her kidneys was a *little* more than that. *eye roll* They are almost back to normal function which is such a relief.

Trudy- That is something that seems to happen to me al of the time with my orders, I always seem to forget something that had I seen it, I would have grabbed it. Did you get some good berries at the market?
How exciting to go on a whale watching trip! When do you think you will do that?
The sign is gorgeous, I love how subtle the leaves are. You are so talented!!!!
I just said to Gary that she needs to listen to me more! Everyone does!! I might not always be right but many times I am. *stomps foot* ;)

Dalis-- Happy belated birthday! Were you able to get your cupcake? ITA, unacceptable! :D

good morning - yesterday was such an exciting, fun and exhausting day and today my DH and I and especially Luther are recovering. My youngest son brought his MG and her kids for lunch and to meet us and see if they could meet Luther. Luther has never been around kids and they have never been around a big dog. Luther was awesome until my son started throwing the kids into Luther's bean bag chair. He barked and was loud. The kids took a while to warm up but they eventually petted him. They ate really well so that was thanks to my DH. He cooked hamburgers and hotdogs and steaks for us marinated. And of course he made coconut cream pie for dessert. He is amazing. I was in charge of keeping Luther under control. When they left it was OMgosh I had forgotten just how cute and wild kids could be. They are wonderful. And they really like each other. I am a happy mom. Luther today and last night was just exhausted. The heat today is exhausting. They got out really early and I went later. Got a couple of pages done. I will work on the photos from yesterday.

Chris yes we are in the jungle! Whew! Glad you still got some outside time. I am so sorry that Gary is under the weather. The heat cannot be good for him. Thanks for the comment on the page about Luther being big! Glad Cait enjoyed too! Love the news that you mom is doing so much better! I guess parents don't want their kids to worry.

Trudy I set out the peanut butter to remember to get at the store and of course I forgot. It happens all the time even with lists. My DH and I are finding that the store is pretty empty mid-day and late evening. That sign is gorgeous! You are so talented.

Jean have fun tomorrow at the classes even though online. Sorry about the tail lights.

Dalis happy belated birthday. Hope as Chris said you got the cupcake.

We went out to the store to stock up on diet coke and get some A/C in the car. We drove by a park area with lots of trees and green and checked work being done on a small lake. During a bit of thunderstorm, a bit exciting. Enjoyed it much and now things though humid are a bit cooler.

Chris, wildlife can be like that. I know you and Cait know it, but having to watch is something else. If Gary can pre-screen maybe that's the way to go. Sorry to hear things were so bad for your mom, but easier to learn now that she' better. And thanks for the comments on my new LO. Last night we watched a movie, The Art That Nature Makes, about the photography, etc. of Rosamond Wolff Purcell. She is so amazing and I love her work but wonder why I didn't know of her. That was the inspiration for the look of my page.

Nancy, sounds like a wonderful time with your DS and all. Good for you and Luther for managing with the kids. Were you surprised to learn the Blue Jays won't be allowed to play regular games in Toronto? It does make sense in view of the world as it is now.

Dalis, another belated birthday greeting! I too hope you got that cupcake.

Trudy, love the sign! I had to look closely to see all the lovely detail. Good luck when your MG is on vacation - sounds like lots of work time for you.

The welcome session for my classes is at 7:00 and then it will be all day the next four and a half days with evening activities as well. Just wish I could be in Pittsburgh, but it is a small disappointment compared to what others have dealt with.
