I adore Liz Lemon, she is my inspiration LOL
My favorite line of hers is when she talks about transitioning from day pajamas to night pajamas

Everything is on track. I only had one disaster yesterday. The vegan breadsticks came out like hockey pucks. The recipe says that the dough could be frozen for up to three months. I had made two batches in May (ya know-- when the party was *supposed to be ;) ) I followed the directions to a T. I defrosted them the day before in the fridge, let them come to room temp, rolled them into sticks, and let them rise again. Hockey. Pucks. Tasted fine but one Ziplock bag of them weighed a ton Bwuhahah!! 3 pm and I was still sitting on the fence whether I was going to put them out anyway, leave them home (Give them to my friend as a weapon??), or bake one fresh batch.
And I know you alllll know what I did.

This batch feels light and fluffy as they are supposed to be.

Party Call Hotline Update From My Mom: Not once. I know she is fine, I was texting with my brother. I know she was cooking the ham so maybe she was just too busy to check in with me. LOL

I am going to shower and get dressed in work clothes, then head to my parents' after the firehouse is all set up and wash up/get dressed and make-up. It is 98% humidity-- I think that is the best way for me to do that. Gonna be gross and sticky.
I am going to do some quick personal and sign off.

Thanks for listening to me for the last several months as I planned and stressed over this-- and just think, we all get to do it again with an engagement party!
:D:D:D

@LSlycord Did Brian get everything straightened out with the cable co/line/contractors?

@BrightEyes you are a woman on a mission! Keep up the great and organized process!

@Cherylndesigns Can you believe that my mom didn't call at all?? I was shocked. The phone rang at dinner and I swore it had to be her. Nope! Hope you had a fun day shopping.
My friend loooves anything horror related, he used to go to Chiller Theater conventions, and this place in NYC:: https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/obscura-antiques-and-oddities
Bet he would Love the Freak Museum!

@taxed4ever Sorry to hear that you are closing up shop with Norwex. But if it takes more time and money than it's worth, it is smart to cut it off.
Nope, my family and I can't judge anyone by the things they collect. *waves hi to Braxton and Linguine O'Brien.*
HAHAHAHAHA!!!

@tanteva Do you have pantry pests in Sweden? If I had a box of pasta that old, I would have bugs in it for sure. bleck!
I am like you, exp dates are suggestions, Gary sees the date and thinks it needs to be in the garbage immediately.

@bcgal00 Great news that you are slowly feeling better. That is a positive sign. Sorry that your back isn't great but I I get that, sounds like you are doing all of the right things for it.

@LSlycord Days and dates, what do they even mean anymore? #crazy

Good morning ladies. I'm going to tackle house chores soon and make a broccoli bacon salad. Later I will attend a zoom celebration of life for an old friend who passed away. This afternoon we have friends coming over and will have a BBQ and sit outside if its not too hot. I am thankful for a shaded porch in the afternoon but lately its been 34 ° / 93 F or a bit hotter in the afternoon so we might need to stay indoors. Either way, we'll enjoy an easy meal and visit for awhile.

Before D and Jen left the trailer on Wed they put a for sale sign in the front window and a fellow called us on Thurs to say his buddy will come out to see it on Friday and he is buying it. That sure was a fast sale! We did price it really good. We know we could have gotten a fair bit more for it but it wasn't worth the hassle, we just want to be done with it. He gave us a deposit and we'll meet up with him in a week or two to get the balance and give him the papers and keys to the place. We have to wait for the contractor to tear down the shed in the backyard b/c it is on the green space a bit (which used to be ok but now the strata doesn't want anyone to build on that part of the land so a bunch of us have to move or tear down sheds...ugh). But in a matter of days we'll be done with it all. Yay. When we meet up with the guy, we decided we'll carry on further down the WA coast a bit and stay in a hotel for a few nights. We can go shopping and have a fun casino night. Jen and I will be happy to get some groceries to bring home (Trader Joes for sure). We are making a list of things we want to look for.

I'd better get going, I need to get some things done before I zoom in a bit.

Morning ladies... We are back to cloudy cool weather today, but the plants are very happy that they got a bit of rain during the night! We are off to my brother and SIL's today and will be partaking in the big Crab Feast that is going on in our old hometown. It will be fun to be with them again! We always have such a good time with them. It will be good to see if some of our old hometown friends will be in attendance too, some school friends have never left that small little town. Hopefully the Elk will not be there, they seem to have taken over the town and are everywhere, not afraid of anything either. They just make themselves right at home in everyone's yards LOL. DH got up very early this morning and is now gone back to bed, hopefully he will have a good sleep or he will be too tired to have much fun this afternoon. So the only thing I need to do today is paint my toenails, I found a few new colours of nail polish yesterday while I was out shopping and one that will look great with the new outfit I bought last week. Other than that, my grocery shopping is done and housework will wait until tomorrow. DH has a few errands to run later on but I will stay home and putter around here while he is gone.

@faerywings - Of course you made a fresh batch of breadsticks!!! I would have done the same LOL. I know that you will have a wonderful time at the party!! You will be beaming with pride for your beautiful daughter and all that she has accomplished!! Give her a big hug from all of us here at the O!! She is like a part of our family too! Good to hear that your Mom was not obsessing over anything yesterday, she must have been keeping herself very busy! Enjoy your day today Chris!! You've waited a long time for this to happen!! #kiss3

@bcgal00 - Well it sounds like you are feeling better today my friend! Hope that the energy continues to return to you! Wow that really was a quick sale of your trailer! That is wonderful news! What a good idea to spend a few extra days when you go to hand over the keys! Enjoy your company today/tonight and have a lovely time, hopefully it won't be too darn hot for you to be outside. Sorry to hear about your old friend passing! Nice that you can attend the zoom celebration of life! Take care of you!!

Ok I need more coffee and then will hit the gallery and get some commenting done for a change LOL. Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning everybody!

Chris @faerywings I can't even imagine how excited you all are!! It's going to be SO much fun and I'm so happy for you and your whole family!! I cannot believe you didn't get 1 single PARTY HOTLINE phone call yesterday!! Mark that as "a red letter day".

Your friend sounds like a riot - I went on that link and it's just like the Freak Museum in DC. I never went there, but of course, the kids went a LOT and I felt like I'd been there because they told us in quite explicit detail all about it whenever they went. It's part of The Smithsonian, as I recall. It's a bunch of weird medical stuff, too. Ewwwwwww

We had fun yesterday but I didn't find any clothes. I did buy Daisy a new dog toy - I'd gotten her the cutest elephant toy last time we went there and she just chewed it up the other night. Of course, they didn't have any more like it, but I got her another, sturdier one. I also bought a cute flowerpot with the tray attached. I desperately needed to transplant on of my inside plants and the pots at Lowe's are SO expensive. I found the prettiest bright blue (ceramic) pot and put my little plant in it last night and it looks SO happy already! Oh, I got it for $6.99!

Adrienne just called and said our local department store was having a half off sale today so guess where we're going? It's such an awesome store and their prices are good all the time, so a sale????? Yes, please.

I'm off to check out a couple of things on here before I have to get ready to go into town. Have a good day and Chris @faerywings "HAPPY PARTY DAY" and congrats, again, to Cait!! Give her a hug from Auntie Cheryl.

XOXO

Been a very busy morning... again! Let's see... did a bunch of copying/deleting while I had my first cup of coffee. Also made another list of files/designers to take off the computer as the first list sure helped me stay focused and made it easy to see progress. I stopped long enough to shower and get dressed. Then remembered I had a bill that had to be mailed today... so trip over to the Post Office and a stop at WalMart to pick up coffee (almost out... OH, NO!!). milk and lunch meat. Then back home and back to work on the files again. I dug out several music CDs and have been listening to them while I work. That helps the time to past. Going to take a break for lunch and walk around abit. Then back to the grind.

Chris... so glad the day of the party is finally here!!!
Eva... I threw out several boxes of pasta that were well past sell by date and had bugs in them! Don't want to think about the pantry right now although I did clean it out a few months ago.
Cheryl, hope you find some bargains at the half off sale!
Rae, hope the back gets to feeling better along with the other stuff. <<< hug >>>

Pasta is sold in sealed plastic bags in Sweden. I keep most of my stuff in containers. I think the fact that I never clean, makes the bugs never having to climb up the shelves. The floor is full of food. LOL

Win-win. I'm a household genius.

Just popping in to say 'hi'. I've been busy, busy, busy designing lately. This weekend I am hoping to set up the new printer/scanner I was kindly gifted by someone else in our apartment complex, so that I can start getting off my computer chair and start making an art journaling mess with paper and glue etc (then scan the results for messing them up even more digitally!)

I've been doing better at keeping the place tidy after a flurry of further decluttering. I don't think I can throw out any more! I was pleased that I am on top of it, because DH and I were having a nap yesterday and were woken by someone at the apartment door (unheard of!).

It turned out he had invited around a younger couple who also live in the complex (who have similar professional interests as him) for afternoon tea, then completely forgot he had done so.

@bcgal00 congrats on the fast trailer sale #clap how annoying about the shed though

@taxed4ever I can't imagine having elk roaming around!!

@tanteva LOL at your gifs! I am grateful I have a very small place and am currently on top of the housework!

@Cherylndesigns congrats on the purchase but transplanting of plants is my most hated task. I usually put it off until they are rootbound and then they die and then I feel very guilty

@BrightEyes sounds like you are on an organising roll! :)

Good afternoon ladies. I've had a very busy day...no, no, I really haven't. I've had a very slow day. I thought of you first thing this morning @faerywings. As I prepared to embark on a very slow paced day, I thought how very opposite that was from the day that you were beginning.

It was actually nice here this morning. We were on the screened lanai and the truth is that it was just a tiny bit chilly with the fan blowing. It was 78 and it was perfect. While sitting there this morning, I decided that I should use a hose to water my plants rather than a watering can. Oh my goodness...talk about putting the joy back into plant care! I don't know why I didn't do that sooner! Now I need to get one of those hose reels so that I can keep the hose on the pool deck without stringing it all over!

Then I decided that we needed "cronuts". They are donuts built on a croissant roll base...delicious! So I drove over and got those. Came home, spent a little more time enjoying the nice weather and then went to the grocery store. The strawberries were on sale for 99 cents a pound so I got three pounds...they look delicious. They also had the delicious cotton candy grapes so I made a chicken salad and then took a nap. Think I may make a batch of homemade strawberry ice cream before the day ends. And Brian did win the battle over the landscaping company providing us with some reimbursement for cutting our cable. They are going to give us $300 without too much hassle...well, there was hassle for Brian, but none for me so that was good!

@faerywings hope it was a fun, happy and stressless day. You did enough stressing before hand, you deserve to have it be perfect today. Give Cait a huge hug and congratulations! She so deserves it for making it through this!

@bcgal00 well you obviously priced that trailer to sell. So nice that it will soon be wrapped up and a trip along the coast with some Trader Joes shopping sounds like the perfect reward!

@taxed4ever it sounds like a great time at your hometown Crab Feast! I had to laugh at your description of the elk. I can't imagine seeing those massive animals in a front yard! I hope that you had a great time and ran into lots of old friends!

@Cherylndesigns sounds like yesterday was a great shopping day and today may even be better. Most of our shopping consists of scrolling the internet. My life is almost fully digital now! I feel that I might be in an old episode of the Twilight Zone.

@BrightEyes you have been so steadfast on working on those files. I continue to be impressed!

@tanteva the pantry! I can answer the question, people (at least this person) who work fulltime do not keep their pantry clean. Stuff goes in and may or may not come out! But when you go to get it, it is gone. I believe that some type of gremlins live in there.

That's me right now. The party was fantastic! Everything worked out perfectly *chef's kiss*

The way we planned it out, to have Scott, Sam, and me to take heavy set-up- so smart. Sam is one of those people who can practically read minds while working together. At one point, I literally kicked the end of a table cloth towards her, she grabbed it and we had the table covered in seconds. :D I had her laughing as I started to roll one of the tables out of the supply closet. It was bigger than me and I guess all she could see were my hands around the edges LOL
Caitlyn looked beautiful and was thrilled to be showing off her ring. <3
My BFF posted a few pics on FB already and I hope that some of the friends and fam will share what they took too.

My only complaint was at the end-- we were just finishing up cake, I poured a glass of wine ready to sit down and relax, and the next thing I know, everyone is putting away chairs and table. WTH!! I am running around trying to get people to stop cleaning up and everyone was saying "but everyone's cleaning up!" Me: I know and that is why I am trying to stop it!
I somehow managed to get all of the food leftovers squeezed in the fridge but we have a lot of beer/hard seltzer in the cooler. Looks like I am goin' on a BENDER! JK!! (or ammm I??)

@bcgal00 Congrats on getting an offer on the trailer so quickly! That is really awesome. How was the BBQ? it sounds like you are starting to feel much more like yourself, so relieved to hear that!
And I am sorry to read about the loss of your friend, hugs~~~

@taxed4ever Still no rain in north jersey, it's getting really bad.
Crab Fest sounds like so much fun! Did you run into any old friends? I guess the elk are kind of like our bears, not scared of people whatsoever, especially if food is available

@tanteva Fab GIF game you got there! As for #3, I don't know how *anyone* -- working or not - keeps their house clean. Especially if they have a garden to keep tidy *G* My theory is that people with FT jobs are not around as much to mess everything up. *thinks back to the days when I used to work FT*
yeah, that can't be right.

@Cherylndesigns My mom was so proud of herself that she didn't call me on Friday haha! And the cake was beautiful and yummy
The flowerpot sounds very cute and cheerful!

@BrightEyes I am amazed that you are still staying on task with the deleting/organizing, I swear I would have given up at this point if I were in your shoes

That makes so much more sense to sell pasta and rice in plastic/cellophane instead of cardboard boxes. I get that cardboard is much better for the environment/recyclable but I wish there was some middle ground on it. And @tanteva that is why I have dogs, they can clean the floors up for me of crumbs

OT: I know that at parties you are supposed to not worry about reusing plastic but OMG, I could not do it!! I tried to let that go. But in the end, I had to save as many of the plastic plates and utensils as I could and run them through the dishwasher. Anyone here surprised? Probably not. No one at the party was either. ;)

@Lynn Grieveson Every time I get one of your newsletters I am in AWE of your new designs, I wish I could grab every one of them. Yay for being gifted a new printer/scanner, I can't wait to see how you put that to use!
Bwuahhaha!! That is something that my DH would do-- not the invite someone over but the forgetting about it part!

@LSlycord Yesterday made up for my other very slow and boring days.
How wonderful to sit outside and get some fresh air and not feel like you were melting. Cronuts sound incredibly yummy. I think I am drooling a bit over here.
(yeah, the fruit sounds good too, but cronuts?? Hands down that is what I will eat!)

Thank you all so very much for the hugs to Caitlyn! I will pass them along!
Hugs back

Morning, gals.

Chris... so glad the party went as planned and everyone had a grand time! Love the photo of you, Cait and your mom.

Another day at the computer for me. But I will have to take a break either later today or tomorrow to go buy more DVDs.... down to the last 25 or so this morning. I am getting ruthless about looking at stuff and knowing that I will never use the kits (even if I haven't use it yet)... so into the recycle bin with a lot of them. I feel like some of them I collected like people do will do with bags and boxes --- "I might need it someday" mindset!#predict I am at the point that is time to get rid of those #angry2.
I also had a "Lightbulb" moment as I was going to sleep last night. I realized that I don't have to transfer 'everything' that is on the computer onto the new ExHD!!! Yes, it would make it easier but I really can pick and choose what to transfer. That sure took the pressure off and I laughed at my 'all or nothing' mindset I had been in!!!#crazy Yes, I will still work at cleaning up the files and saving/deleting stuff but the pressure to finish by Friday is gone.

I finally created a new scrapbook with layouts. Back when I scrapped a lot more than I do now, I created seven volumes of "My Blessings Counted". Today I created an eighth volume. I was able to do an 8x8 inch hard bound book for $30 and the shipping was free.

I looked through all of those books from years past. So many memories. So many things forgotten! What a joy those books are! Why don't I print more of them? That's my new resolution!

Good morning ladies. Had a wonderful day yesterday with our friends, we sat out on the deck most of the day as the shade and a slight breeze made it comfortable enough (it was 90ish again as it has been all week). Had a simple BBQ and visited until late in the evening. Jen left for a few hours and took the dogs to the park. The park she went to is a temporary dog park they built when the permanent one a block away was closed down this last year because of the pipeline construction which is just finishing. I heard when the old one reopens they will also keep the temporary one open. This city is so dog friendly it is amazing. Two huge fenced parks for the dogs a block away from each other...that would never happen in Vancouver. I love Kamloops more every day (except for the lack of doctors of course).

We sat chatting with our friends about holidays we have gone on together before, what would interest us now and before you know it, D was saying how much he loved our Alaska cruise and would go again so I am holding him to it. If the price isn't too bad, we will book for next spring and take Jen too. I think we all need a good holiday. I took a quick peak online and saw some pricing that was ok. I will have to look into packages and figure out a good kennel for the dogs here in Kamloops, also about cancellation rules b/c you never know about covid and what might happen. I'm excited to think about planning the cruise, its been 5 years since we last went to Alaska and I had lost almost all my photos of it. That won't happen this time (last time I loaded all my photos into the new computer I had just gotten the wk before and had to erase the cards b/c I had a wedding to shoot the next morning after returning home and needed all the cards empty for it and then the next day the computer failed and I lost everything). So hopefully that works out and we get to take a trip next year.

Today I want to stay close to home, maybe get a few groceries b/c I forgot some things on Friday but other than that it'll be a quiet day. I may take a drive up into the grasslands later today, closer to dusk, for a few landscape photos and let the dogs run around. But that's a short trip (the grasslands starts at the end of our street so I can find a quiet area to park and wander just a few minutes up the road).

@faerywings LOVE the photo of you 3. You are all so tiny and cute! So glad to hear yesterday was fun and everything worked out great. I never doubted it.

I'm getting another coffee and going outside with Remi. She just loves to be outside and bugs me a lot lately to get out there :)

Morning everyone, its another day of cloudy rainy weather. This summer is turning into a non-event!! It will soon be the end of July and we have only had a handful of days of really warm and sunny weather. The crab fest was great and I did see a couple of old friends from my hometown and some of the hiking group were there too. The crab was fresh and ohh so delicious! Almost sweet tasting it was a fun time! Did see some Elk but at least this one used the crosswalk LOL. However they are a regular sight and are destroying lots of property. There was a huge one eating someones hedge right on the side of the road, but I did not get a photo, darn it.

@faerywings - So glad that everything went so smoothly for your fun party!! Great photo of the three of you!! You all look amazing!! I see that you did not get your toenails painted though LOL. I hope that today you are enjoying a nice relaxing, stress free day!

@LSlycord - A great idea to get those layouts made into books, I have always wanted to do that too, but I keep putting it off and now it would be a huge undertaking with layouts that go back to 2008!!

@BrightEyes - Good for you for chucking some of those many kits that you will never look at again! I was going to ask you why you were keeping everything?? But did not want to be rude! When I suggest to my MIL that she should chuck some of her STUFF she gets very annoyed at me so I have learned to keep my mouth shut LOL. I know that it is very hard for some to discard certain items. I am happy that you are being sensible and now you don't have to deal with a deadline that might stress you out!

@bcgal00 - Sounds like you had a lovely day with your company and that is great that you got to enjoy it outside! Hope you get to go on your Alaska cruise, you do deserve a nice relaxing holiday! Although I have to say that you are braver than I am getting on a Cruise ship again! I am having a hard time dealing with getting on an airplane LOL. Hope you have a nice walk with the dogs later today!

@tanteva - Hooray!! Your work is accomplished!! I bet it feels great to be done! Love that gif!!

Ok off to make another pot of coffee, we sure go through a lot of it when my DH is home! Have a wonderful rest of Sunday everyone!

LOL... NO, I am not keeping everything!!! Mainly going to keep the kits/bundles/LO from designers/stores I CT for plus favorite designers elsewhere. Getting rid of those "only use once challenge LOs", designers I don't know, and stuff from websites I never go to anymore. I have been digi-scrapping for about 16-17 years and worked with a lot of different designers and at different shops. I did pretty good about keeping things cleaned up until about 6 years ago when Mom moved in and needed care: then DH got sick. Got lazy when I got the 2 TB computer so I didn't have to delete much.... now I am paying for it!!!

I am doing a happy dance. While at WM, I spotted lettuce and celery back down in price to almost Jan cost!!! Going to fix me a fresh salad to go with my porkchops dinner! May have a chef salad tomorrow. I am also going to take the rest of the afternoon off and kickback and read for awhile. The temp was hovering around 100* so it took a lot out of me to make the run to the store.
