I got the date right and while I didn't give myself a heart attack that it is my mom's birthday, I feel sad that I don't have anything for her, not even a card. I am asking a favor for some virtual flowers that I can send to her. Cheesy, I know.
A Favor: It's my Mom's 80th Birthday!

The snow only amounted to 4" all totaled and Scott was able to clear the cars and shovel the driveway in no time. But dang, it is frigid. I hate having to be outside with the dogs but I have to watch W like a hawk. She likes to eat dog poop and it's even better when she can dig through the snow to get the frozen stuff. Soooo gross. We tried mixing pumpkin with their food and that worked for a while. I stopped that but I think I need to try it again. If anyone has any better suggestions, I'm all ears.

I didn't do much of anything else yesterday, Cait and I spent two hours on the puzzle. I started crocheting a hat. Oh, Caitlyn and I stalked Rae's photos of Taz and Remi. We are still LOL over Taz Christmas hat/expression. You know who it reminds me of?? The gymnast who made the face when she got the Silver medal instead of gold. No idea what her name is... But YKWIM??

Other than calling my mom and making a fuss over singing happy birthday to her, I don't have any other big plans today. Cait and I are heading to the FP. Scott is having a friend come over to hang out, possibly stay for dinner. But get this. She doesn't like cheese. *faints* I was joking that with Tom, sure he doesn't eat cheese because of moral convictions, but how can you not like cheese??? Caitlyn doesn't think that she could ever switch to vegan b/c she loves cheese way too much.
I don't think I have many dinner ideas that don't include cheese.

Wishing you all a fab day!

Life is back to normal. Jeonia is home safe and sound. She finally switched to Delta after 3 cancellations by Southwest. Flew home through Atlanta. Her luggage wound up in Detroit instead of Des Moines but she made it home. -2* in Des Moines when she landed and when she got home her furnace wasn't working. The dog's water dish had frozen water but none of her pipes had burst. (The dog was at the dog sitter, not at home alone with the frozen water.) She says that she will never fly in winter again.

Brian and I have started this new diet...or eating modification plan...or whatever they call it. Anyway, low carbs and no sugars and lots of little meals. So we are trying to decide what to do today that will get us out and about. It was 50* when I got up but we are on our way to 70*. I think we may drive down to Daytona Beach with our little snacks in tow.

I got Syd down to UF on Thursday. She has a friend there so he walked around the area with her for a couple of hours while I sat and read a book. Monday afternoon we are going down to UCF to walk around a bit. Then we just wait for the end of February. On the drive home she said, "I just wish it could stay like this forever." I know...me too!

@tjscraps Are the kids off from school or are you doing remote? I don't know how families are doing this, going from in-person to remote at the drop of a hat. Hope it gets better soon for you

@tanteva Sweden is only slightly colder than here, 15*F And one you are below freezing does it even matter? Yes, it does, because if I lived by Trina, you know I would be b******** even more! Ha!
Is your computer working again or is that why you are on the tablet? But also-- have to laugh at "period LOL"

@taxed4ever I hope that the temps stay above freezing but that not so much that everything melts at once.
I am chuckling here as if you actually mind about making t-shirts for your grands :p What design does Hunter want?
I hope that your mojo comes back soon would love to get some pages done but am finding it hard to look through old photos. OTOH- we had a blast redoing a photo of all of us with Santa on Christmas Eve. Cait asked me to photoshop it, removing two faces and adding in my nieces, nephew, Paper Plate BFF, and my neighbors 2 kids that are like siblings to mine. I also added in Bernie Sanders and his mittens. Not really appropriate for scrapping, but cathartic as all heck to do.

@bcgal00 Caitlyn loved looking at the puppy pics of Remi and adores the curls on Taz's ears.
Glad to hear that your back is better, just don't overdo it.
I am sending so many good thoughts to B and her team that they can move her to get the best treatment. I am so sorry that it is so difficult and drawn out.
If you find any vibes on getting back on track and not feeling lazy- I could use them too :)

@BrightEyes sending you and Bill love today.

@mom2triplets04 Did you get any pics of Myla in the snow? Bet she had a good day!

@Cherylndesigns Aside from the day I had my second vax and was soooo sick from it, I couldn't tell you the last time I slept that late. I am stoked if I make it past 6 am. My body and brain fight me. I still owe my mom a new/updated Christmas gift. I scrapped three LOs me and Gary, Cait and Tom, Scott and LL, and got them each framed. Now I don't know what to do to replace them. It doesn't feel right to have two couples and then Scott and a dog? pfft. And my dad ordered a basket of my F-Ws stuff to give her so she doesn't need that. double pfft.
But those are really good ideas!
Good luck on the shopping trip to Hobby Lobby!

Hugs and love to all of you!

@faerywings I dropped my very favorite flower on your thread for your mom. I can't believe that she turns 80 today. I think of her as the age when I "met" you. She would have only been slightly older than I am now. Crazy how time keeps moving on. I need to go back through the last two days of Daily's because I have probably missed something. But what did Scott decide about the job? Glad he was around to shovel for you. And, I think that I may need to get a new puzzle for Syd and I. We haven't done any this year.

The government just delayed the return to school after the break for a week, province wide. No online school, just off. That makes it easier for me actually, the little one could just go to her dayhome and the big kid (13) stayed home and slept and read. If they tried to do online school for the little she would just not go - how do you do Kindergarten online? The big one hates school from home as well. I work for a school board so the busy-ness of this week has been because of the closures, getting subs cancelled, changing contracts, and getting our vaccine mandate stuff ready to go as that's in effect Monday.

We are currently -33'C (-27'F) - it warmed up!!!!! We are all looking forward to Monday - it'll get to 2'C (36'F). It's going to feel like a beach day lol

Hubby is working today and I set up a playdate for the little one so I can try and clean out some of her room/toys/things. We have SO many toys it's overwhelming - it comes from spoiling the little, yes, but also that because our girls are so far apart in age we had kept the toys from the big kid (that she doesn't use any more) so it's just a mess. I have been wanting to clean them out since before we moved in July but cleaning out the toy room when the kid is home is like shovelling during a blizzard - very ineffective.

Morning everyone... quickly popping in to say hello and then we are out the door to get the grocery order. We have some errands to do today (what else is knew?). We would like to be home before the freezing rain hits us this afternoon. I sure hope to be able to get to my fav craft store today! They are having a big sale and I have a few things in mind to try to purchase. I got Mason's t-shirt done and now starting to work on Hunter's. Of course the characters that Hunter wants are very colourful and so I will need to get different colours of heat transfer vinyl. Hope that I can find that at Walmart, they don't sell the brand that I like, but I would need to drive for an hour to get what I really like and with the weather being so unpredictable I am not doing that! Whew talk about a run on sentence LOL. In between all the things that DH will keep me busy doing this weekend I am going to try to do some scrapping. I have so many layouts floating around in my brain, but seems no time to do them ;). Sorry no personals today except to say a Very Happy Birthday to @faerywings Mom!! I hope her day is special even though you won't be able to see her! I left her some flowers in your other Thread. Have a great day everyone, gotta run....

Good day and Happy Saturday.

Well, I should have been on the way to Muskogee to Hobby Lobby, but Adrienne called me awhile ago and said that Braden tested (today) positive for Covid! So, no, I'm staying in my bubble. Darn, I was looking forward to it. Oh well, it wasn't meant to be. Last time the girls went there and I didn't go, Adrienne's car was stolen. Perhaps, it's the Universe telling us to stay home. I told her they'd likely all either have it or get it, living in the same house. UGH.

I told Chuck that I'd just try to find a wreath on Amazon or somewhere online. If I don't find one, I'll just wait. I can always bring my wreath in from off the front door. I'm in here way more than I'm out there at least until the weather warms up. I think I just talked myself into doing that. It's really not a "Christmas wreath" I just re-did it, if you remember. It's a wheat wreath that I got in FL and had it inside on my wall for years. it's a plastic wheat wreath with plastic sea shells on it and it's VERY cool! Doesn't look plastic at all - I got it at Kirkland's and watched until it went half price then snagged it. It was pretty pricey at the original price. It's totally weatherproof too, so it worked in this weather. Yes, I just talked myself into doing that. I love having these "reasoning discussions" - I made up my mind while I was typing. BWAHAHA

I've got a bunch of ribbon and a lot of cool feathers - BOOM!!!

I'm all geeked now to work on my wreath.

Chris @faerywings so what did you decide to get your mom? I read what you wrote, but you didn't seem to be too sure. Darn about having to change out the pictures. I vote on Scott and the dogs.

I might stop back - have a good day all. Hugs to everybody.

@faerywings Myla has a blast in the snow. I did some layouts at another website. Are we allowed to post them here? I also finally for the first time was able to lay down with her without being bitten. I also did a layout about that and just finished writing my poem.

This morning my husband took Myla out in the snow to play and I went to weight watchers and did some shopping. Finally it felt good to be out alone and doing something for myself. Tonight is movie night with the family. We do that every Saturday. My girls went to the mall for the first time by themselves. I'm waiting for them to return. Myla is napping so it's nice to have some peace and quiet.

Good afternoon, ladies. I was out at the dog park since this morning and then visited with Jen for a bit before getting a late lunch. I binged a few shows with D and now he is napping in his chair while I hang out in my office for a bit. My back is a bit better, it's just hard to bend or pick up something lower than waist level but hopefully by next week I'll be ok. I'm back at physio on Wed so I'll see what stretching exercises she can give me in addition to what I do now.

@faerywings I got some flower pics in the other thread for you for your mom. Glad you and C are enjoying the dog pics. Here's a snow pic of Remi with her ball. I stand in the basement doorway to throw the ball and she retrieves it and brings it back to the door for me but then doesn't want to let it go b/c its too much fun to squeeze this squeaky icy ball LOL.

I brought my wreath in, off the front door and took all the Christmas-looking stuff off of it. It's hanging in my scraproom, on the wall, and I'm getting ready to re-make it.

I'm so glad I "talked out my dilemma". BWAHAHA

Good morning, happy Sunday! Another cold and dreary weather day in North Jersey. I haven't been outside yet but it is supposed to be snow and ice all day. I am glad I don't have anywhere to go.
Thank you all so very much for posting flowers for my mom! I am going to figure out the best way to print it for her. If I send her a link to the thread, she will only get confused. heh

Yesterday was a pretty decent day. FP run was good-- they had individually packaged pies and there is apparently a long story of blueberry pies, a stolen fork, and one of Scott's friends. Caitlyn got the pie for him, he grabbed the stolen fork, and they laughed their butts off about the friend. Scott's other friend - the non-cheese lover *G*- came over after dinner and I heard them laughing, playing video games. Every time I hear Scott laugh, a part of my broken heart repairs itself.

Puttering around the house today, I need to do some more tidying and dusting.
I started a scrap page for Karen Schulz's challenge, love learning how to do something new. Non-destructive dodge and burn is a fantastic trick. I rarely use that tool but always did it on a photo layer itself. That made a mess so I stayed away. I used a photo of Jaida and anyone with black dogs or cats knows how difficult it can be to get a decent snapshot of them. I was able to brighten up J's face and deepen the shadows in her fur. I am going to finish that and post it today.

Sending everyone BIG hugs!

@LSlycord OMG, three cancellations of her flight, thank goodness that Jeonia was able to switch flights and made it home. I hope that she didn't get charged extra but I bet that all that mattered was getting home in one piece at that point. Thank goodness that dog was at the sitter too.
Did you end up walking on the beach? That is very good exercise. Good luck with the new "diet!"
what Sydney said about staying like this forever--melted my heart. She is such a sweetie, you did good!
It really is funny, my brain thinks of your kids as little ones still too LOL!!
Scott sent in his resume for the job last week. Friday was the last day to send it in so he got his in early. His friend who works there said that they only had 5 other applicants that she knew of. She thinks his app is toward the top of the list and that she is pushing for an interview which is in the form of an "educational hike." If that is the case, he is going to do great- he did that informally with me every time we used to head out. ;) It is also what he did at the ecology center for several years. I will keep you all posted if he hears anything.

@tjscraps That does make it easier for the school to just be closed- not having to deal with the remote classes and HW. Will they add the week to the end of the year? What a mess it must have been behind the scenes for you as well. I would cry and have my tears freeze on my face if I had to live where it is -27*F
How did you do with cleaning up the toys? I had a dream last night where I did that that- pulled out kids' toys and dumped them in the middle of the flor to organize them. That isn't a dream, that is a full-blown *nightmare.* Hope you made it out ok and that she didn't find the toys you tossed and bright them back in. (I know, that is a big ask LOL)

@taxed4ever Of course, you are going to be out and about-your Gary doesn't seem to know how to take a day off hahaha! Were you able to get all of the t-shirt supplies that you needed? Hopefully, you got home before the weather got bad and you had time to scrap a bit. It stinks when your mojo is gone, then you finally get *ideas* but can't find the time to scrap them.

@Cherylndesigns Oh no! So sorry to hear Braden is positive. Darn it! Yup, stay in your bubble, hopefully, it won't spread to you and Chuck. :(
Bwahaha! I love your stream of consciousness/reasoning discussion. I swear that is one of my biggest motivations for typing way too much here every day. It's the only way I (we!!) can get all of the thoughts knocking about in our heads into reality. We are so much alike - it's probably good that we don't live in the same town, we would be dangerous.

@mom2triplets04 I saw the photos of Myla off-leash. I adored the journaling, was sooo cute!
If you scrap a page for another site, you can post it here if it has 50% Oscraps products and you don't link to outside shops.
What movie did you watch? We watched Don't Look Up the other day.

@bcgal00 I asked in the Entertainment Forum for new TV show ideas, we usually watch the same kind so if you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them. We saw the pic of Remi and Bella with the stick, so darn cute! And this one here-- another fantastic shot! And all of that snow. (blech) She has the floofiest tail too.

Good morning lovely ladies! We went down to Daytona Beach yesterday and so I got my steps in. That area is just beautiful! And we stayed on the silly diet.

@faerywings I'm so excited to see what comes of Scott's interview. And, what a fun way to interview...to do an educational hike! Before Covid we did a few of the educational hikes around here. The best one was at Anastasia State Park and it was a dolphin walk. We learned all about the dolphins. I need to see if anything is opening up. And I am so excited that he is getting together with friends and laughing!

@tjscraps everyone is back to school as normal down here. The kids have been exposed multiple times in the past couple of weeks but they work outside or in their own wings of the animal resort so there is a lot of social distancing. I'm glad that your kids, especially the youngest, don't have to endure the online classes. I just can't see how you can teach the lower elementary grades online but I know they have done it.

@taxed4ever it seems like all I do now is get errands done. Every errand breeds additional errands...lol. I took my ring in to be repaired two weeks ago and now I need to go pick it up. LOL I am thinking that I have a couple of other pieces that need repaired so I may take them in tomorrow when I pick up the ring. And then I will have more errands.

@Cherylndesigns I love that you make your own wreaths. I wish we lived closer and I would invite you over to help me make one. Of course, you couldn't come because you are quarantined. *%#@&* virus!

@bcgal00 love the photo of Remi with the ball. And I also saw the photo of both dogs on your FB page. They are really quite photogenic!

@mom2triplets04 I love that Myla let you lay down with her without biting. Progress...yay! All of the photos of dogs in the snow make me miss the snow...at least a little bit.

Ok...need to get to the grocery store, cook up some chicken and weigh it for the salads for the next few days. Then maybe head to the beach again...2 days in a row? And get a layout done. Can I do all that in a day. LOL Talk to you all later.

Morning, all. Sitting in the office as the sun peeks over the mountain with blue skies and only a few clouds... beautiful sight. It is a cold and brilliant morning... 32*F ... but heading up to the lower 50's today. I took a PJ day yesterday. Got a long and delightful phone call from my granddaughter early yesterday. It helped lighten my spirits. Late in afternoon, I went back to doing the hand-written inventory of books in the Family room and Living room... now to get it put into the laptop. Not ready to tackle the book inventory of the books in the hall and the Master Bedroom yet. Fell asleep while reading in bed only to wake up around midnight to put the book down, take off the reading glasses and turn off the light.

Forgive me for no personals - just wanted to check on you gals.

Good morning ladies. Managed to do a few light core exercises and have the heating pad on now for a bit as I go online, in my office chair. I was at the dog park a long time yesterday so glad I feel ok this morning, wasn't sure if I would. So, definitely on the mend now. I'll get the dogs back to the dog park today b/c it looks like a week of rain ahead of us after today. I really hate Vancouver winters, this year especially it is getting to me, I hate the rain. I'd rather have snow.

Finished off Roswell last night. Tonight we'll binge Station Eleven (sci-fi). I've got lots of little things to do today but will be careful not to push myself too hard. I would be so frustrated if I aggravated my back recovery so I have to be patient with myself (which is not easy). Scrapping, dog walking, laundry, meal planning, time outs with floor mat and heating pad. Before I do anything today I might do a little bit of weight lifting with light hand weights and then have a hot shower to loosen everything up. But I'll be careful, just a 5 minute session to start.

@faerywings For your mom's flowers, are you printing 12x12? You could put all the flowers into a collage and maybe pop in an inspirational journal card or type your own message. That would be a great gift to frame and hang on the wall. If you do something like this and want more flower pics, let me know, you know I have lots :) Enjoy doing Karen's challenge with the dodge and burn.

@LSlycord Enjoy another day at the beach!

I'm getting more coffee and getting on with my day now. BFN

Hi all. We have a golden globe in the sky at the moment. I am not sure what it is as I haven't seen one for awhile.
Sunrise was so pretty. The Fraser River was all pale pink and mauve with lovely dark reflections. Too many rooftops to take a decent picture so I will have to log it into my memory.
I completed the 'Doge and Burn Challenge'. The example element given worked out quite well but I couldn't replicate the process with any success on any other element. Perhaps I need to simplify the element beforehand. hmm A question to ask KS.

I am taking a PJ day today. Never done it before but I hate sitting at the PC with something tight around my waist. A few extra Christmas pounds are fighting for space.

Been busy today with organizing and decluttering (and Youtube :) )

Weekend is over (9pm here) and tomorrow Urban goes back to work after almost a week at home. I'm not working until next week, but John has a dentist appointment on Thursday. As you can see ... my life is hectic. LOL

I was sorting some stuff in the kitchen today, and there is this set of forks and knifes (6 of each), that neither of us like. I was about to toss them in the bin, when I remembered that I saw something on the news a couple of days ago, that retro cutlery being "a thing" right now. Decided to do a quick googling before I binned them. Looks like we could get about $50 for them if we're lucky. Not much, but definetely too much for tossing them away. Will do some more decluttering, and see if we find something else we can sell, but I will definetely put them on an auction site later.

Made a layout too, but it's not right. Can't put my finger on what's not ok, but I'll look at it again tomorrow.

Hello my lovelies.

Chris @faerywings we are SCARILY alike!!! I LOVE that you "got" my stream of consciousness yesterday - yep, I totally worked it out on the keyboard. My brain was so scrambled and the ideas just started dumping out through my fingers. You know - that's why we laugh about making mistakes when we're typing - our brains go so much faster than our fingers. I can type REALLY fast, too. Can you? I got awards for 120 words a minute, but could type much faster than that. That was the highest time test they gave. Isn't that a wonderful "Claim to Fame"??????? BWAJAJA I could ALSO take shorthand at speeds higher than that AND transcribe with NO errors. That got me REALLY FAR IN LIFE. hahahahaha That and 25 cents might have gotten me a phone call. How much does it cost now? Are there even any pay phones? Rambling again......................

Hey, I went back and re-read your old post. How's your arm today? I never told you girls, because I didn't want to freak you out, but my shot must have gotten in the muscle. My arm STILL hurts. Now they're talking about a FOURTH booster. I yi yi.

I'm sure your mom understands about the virtual gift. She KNOWS you love her so much and like my dad used to say when he got "older" "It's just another day". Hahaha On holidays, he said "It's just another day without mail". I come from a long line of Sarcasm.

Well, now Alyssa has covid. I told them to stay away! We had a package here for Braden and we put it out on the front porch for somebody to pick up. You know that ALL of our mail and packages come to the same address, so whoever picks the mail up has to let the others know that we have something of theirs. Roger's handyman, Thom, usually does the duty, but he's been gone since right after Christmas. He drove home to Upstate New York and stayed way longer than we thought he would. Ava thinks he's going to go back. He and his gf, Aly, broke up and she moved out and I guess I wouldn't be surprised, either. Aly moved out here with him, from Florida and now they're splitsville. So weird.

Hugs to all.

I KNOW that's why I go on and on here, too. LOL I'm in good company, huh??? I LOVE this about our little group - everybody just accepts us for who we are - isn't that great?????

Yes, Braden has it and now Alyssa does too. I told them to stay away from us!! It's not fun living this close and not being able to see each other. Adrienne had a procedure tomorrow and she's cancelling. it's just routine and she had to have a (not rapid test) at the hospital Wed and it took it 2 days to come back negative. I just saw on TV that MOST hospitals are doing a rapid test on anybody who comes in for anything. No doubt she will test positive now. YIKES I swear it's always something. Anyway, she made the decision to postpone her test. I wouldn't go near a petri dish of a hospital right now if I didn't have to. They're germ vats under the best of times.

SO glad your friend finally got home - what an order and to have her luggage end up in Detroit of all places. Do they have any hopes of if and when she'll get it back? She's got to be feeling blessed that her pipes weren't frozen especially if her dog's water bowl was frozen.

Chris @faerywings I just made a layout of some of my favorite flower pics and popped it in your thread. Linda @LSlycord a couple of mine are Hibiscus, too.

I think because it was the whole province they won't make it up, all the students are in the same boat. We aren't done school til Jun. 28th so going an extra week would really not be ideal.

Toy cleanup did not happen. I ended up reading - I needed a day to veg!!

Yes, they have done it - puts a lot of strain on the parents I think, because they end up having to also teach. The teachers though are really doing the best they can, I am not blaming them - just the situation is hard all around.

Oh and for all of those wondering about how we live here when it's so cold .... here is us in the hot tub this morning at -25'C (-31 wind chill) - that's -13'F/-27.

It's warming up! That is way better than last week when it was -37'C (-34'F) with a windchill in the mid -40's (-45'C is -49'F). It was too cold for the hot tub for about 10 days. And I'm so excited they're calling for ++++++4'C tomorrow (39'F) - anything above freezing in January, I bet we will see people with no coats lol

Been a bit busy. Laundry. I know I shouldn't do it on Sunday but I missed the day and I had to do 3 loads or I'd have no socks. Plus i cooked 2 meals today.

made this for lunch. It was yummy. I didn't put any bacon in it but it still was good. new recipe

Now, I am waiting for dinner. Smells really good. new recipe

Just got a call from kids school. They are going remote for the week due to covid and not enough staff as they are sick. We had full week this week. My sister in law works in a school too and they had remote last week and now they are going back and now we are off.

@faerywings I didn't use any oscraps in my layout so I won't be able to post it here. I did. have the snow one in the gallery. I believe you saw it. Myla ate a chicken bone last night and now she has had diarrhea all day. I haven't seen it pass in her poop. I may have to call the vet tomorrow if she continues to have loose poop.
