CHEERY O
Happy Weekend and good morning (afternoon to some, evening to others).

Does everyone have enough coffee, tea and muffins? *holds out plate of goodies*

I am feeling kind of quiet ATM.
*gasps all around*
Yesterday was a bad day here, and it drains me physically as well as emotionally. Gary has a really bad Lyme day and he sometimes feels like giving up. Everything. Can't say i blame him, but it scares the s@!$ out of me. I have been through it enough to know that is passes....... but its hard. On all of us. There has got to be a cure somewhere, that's all I can say. Has to be.

On another horrible note, there was a double suicide in FL (IIRC) where two late stage Lyme patients killed themselves together. Breaks my hear.

Well, aren't I the cheeriest thing you ever saw?

But on a good note, my mom's b-day party is all set, the house is mostly cleaned. (I should thank Gary for leaving like that yesterday, when I get upset, I can't sit still, so I clean. I got a lot done, I was a vacuuming-madwoman while he was gone!!! LOL). All I have to do it set out the china, get some flowers tomorrow for her, and be good to go. Aaaaannnnnnd!! I get to see my baby tomorrow!! He is 8 months old today!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I am hoping for some scrap therapy time.

  Chris.................you can be grumpy.....uuuhhmmm...cheery whenever you like with us!! :biggrin1:

Hope the party goes well!!!! Happy B-day to your Mom...

We are all going to lunch today for C-man's bday...it was Wednesday and he wants to go to Logan's....good by me!!!

Then I am back to do some cooking....I am in the mood to cook...so better get to it, because it only hits me every so often!!

quickie personals!

Yvon-- happy birthday to your hubby! I saw ypur picture of the girls on Facebook, and had no idea what the comment was. But I did see that you wrote spoonlikken (something like that!)-- and I interpreted that the be the girls having a great time licking the cake batter spoons!

Trudy, my mojo is gone too..... I might try the new Anna lift today- that usually gets me going again. You should too!

Phyllis- I know! Isn't it weird how one day the pain can be doing *this* and then next its doing *that*?? Hope you matress is good every night. Have you tried Lyrica? Scott's dr actually rx'd that for him to take before bed when he was having a lot of issues sleeping.he took it for about a year, but now just does fine with Melatonin.

Laurie- ooooh, sounds like heaven! Caitlyn cooked dinner for us on Thursday and it is so amazing not to have to be in the kitchen on occasion!

Eva-- look st you go! Good for you!
And that kit is adorable!!

Linda S- Maybe we can trade off some of my cleaning and gardening time with the Euro-girls and Eva can help us with knitting, and crocheting for me. ;)

Have a great day.
And thank you for letting me vent and then chat. It always helps, more than you know.

Morning ladies, still not feeling well...coughing up a storm and still have a soar throat.....

Chris - I'm sorry to hear Gary is having a bad day of it. I know when your loved ones are not feeling well or just stressing it can effect your peace of mind and mood.....hoping and praying there will be a cure for you and your family soon. (((HUGS)))

Sending lots of healing~~~~~~> energy to those of you needing it.

I'm having a great time here in San Francisco, and today go to see Dick's Coast Guard son and his ship. We are up in Nob Hill and let me tell you our legs are getting a major workout.

My One LIttle Word this year is Enough, and I am doing my best to keep to that re the wonderful food CA has. It hasn't been too hard since I finally have a partner in that.

Love to you all!

Love - happiness - comfort
to everyone who needs it!

I'm having an ok day - not 100% well, cold and a runny nose, but all in all I'm ok. I've managed to take a photo of the dinner every day this year so far ... I know ... only 7 days ... but I'm really going for Project 366 this year. It would be one cool album if I manage to take a photo of the dinner every day.

DH and I watched the first 3 episodes of Fawlty Towers yesterday. We bought the box with the serie when it was on sale. Laughed so much ... I loooove John Cleese!

Yvon-- happy birthday to your hubby! I saw ypur picture of the girls on Facebook, and had no idea what the comment was. But I did see that you wrote spoonlikken (something like that!)-- and I interpreted that the be the girls having a great time licking the cake batter spoons!

Thank you! You're right about the picture. I made arretjescake. Nothing with eggs, so safe for the girls to lick the spoons. The youngest finished her spoon, came to me and said "here you go, ready for the drawer" LOL I put it in the dishwasser!

Chris, do I understand it correctly that Gary has Lyme disease?
Must be hard to hear about the suicide:(

If you guys want to make 'arretjescake' one time:
8 tablespoons vanillapudding
400 grams sugar
100 grams Cocoa powder
500 grams butter
10 grams instant coffee
400 grams theabiscuits (dry cookies)

Melt the butter.
Break the cookies into small pieces.
Stirr the vanilla pudding and suger in 1 bowl. Add the cocoa powder and instant coffee.
When all is looking smooth, stirr the melted butter through.
When that all looks smooth, throw the cookies in, and keep stirring.
Put everything into a bakingtray, put it in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
I always put some aluminiumfoil into the tray so I can take it out easier.
When it's finished and cut, it should look like this picture in this blogpost http://www.famvanloo.nl/2010/12/15/recept-arretjescake/

Eva, good job about the dinner pictures!
I failed allready, i have this app on the ipad, and even that I forgot about LOL

Hey everyone- I agree healing to those that need it. I am not a tea drinker, but whenever I get scratchy, I try throat coat tea- has slippery elm bark in it ( I sweeten it with honey) and it feels so good. Eva- your book will make me hungry if you do dinner every day- but what a memory! I've stuck with it for a week- tonight I will scrap the first week. We have had our kick butt dance lessons this am and now it is off to exciting laundry and putting away!

I won't scrap weeks - I'm gonna scrap 1 month/LO. I'm using this template and this kit. It has taken me forever to change the templates. Translating to Swedish, change the order of the days (weeks starts with Monday here) + changing the dates to fit 2012. But it's getting fantastic! Love that I can have the photos on one page, and then the list on another to write what every photo is. Chose the kit cuz I love the small buttons/brads - I'm gonna use them to high light. It will be great fun.

OOOh Eva...one of my all time fave kits!!!

.................... makes me miss Emily!!! I TOTALLY ADORED HER PRODUCTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris, hang in there. boy, i wish you could get a break with some of this stuff. i can't imagine how hard it is for all of you. i have never tried Lyrica. i'm am so suspicious of "new" medications. i've never really taken any pain meds for my "affliction." when i discovered early on that an insane number of Tylenol or Advil didn't even touch the pain, i just thought: i'm not going to blow out my stomach over this. i did get total relief once after some outpatient surgery for "woman troubles." hahaaa!! Fentanyl!! well, unless i want the DEA swooping down on my house and my doctor's office, there won't be any fentanyl for me. so i just do it with nothing. and eventually that worked. well, worked well enough that "pain" is in a box "over there" and i choose not to look at it. whatever works. but the combination of Lyme's and a man in pain. i can't imagine what's to be done. hugs to you.

Linda. do you deliver?

Frani, i'm right there with you. i go to bed coughing and wake up coughing! let's hope this ends pretty soon!

Eva, i used those templates for my 2011 365. first time EVER i finished a project like that, and i believe i owe it to the format of those templates. so i'm changing the date numbers for each month of 2012 and using them all over again!

Maureen, you Globetrotter, you!! you guys must a about a million frequent flyer miles!

Yvonna, i only WISH i could make your dessert! it looks so good!

Laurie, i think the "exciting laundry" will be my activity of the day, too. Woot....

hope everyone has the day they hope for. and some sunshine, too.

phylis

Chris......Give Gary a big hug from Nana....hugs for you both!!! That's terrible about the two in FL.... .....but.....YAY FOR SEEING THE BABY....he is soooooooooooooooo stinkin cute!!!!!!

Hi Fran....I am sorry you feel bad sweetie.... for you too

Hi Diane...thanks for the warm and postive thoughts!!!

Maureen....how was the ship? did you have a good visit with Dicks son?? and I like that WORD...ENOUGH....that could be used in MANY WAYS!!

Eva...again..that is a fab kit to use and can't wait to see your pages...I have never done a book like that...but maybe one day I will...GOOD LUCK!!

Yvon....we have all often wondered where she and her sister disappeared to....I still use the stash I have from them often!!! I know Em was a fantastic photographer...maybe she went strictly with that business.

MOrning all - looks like a cold but sunny day- I have the list started- blending- must do's with work do's with fun do's!! What a great day it will be

Yvon....we have all often wondered where she and her sister disappeared to....I still use the stash I have from them often!!! I know Em was a fantastic photographer...maybe she went strictly with that business.

That's what I thought back than also, but her website was gone as well as her facebook and twitter.
I loved her photos!
Anyways, it was sad to see she disappeared.

GoooOd mOrning!

Thank you thank you thank you, times 10000000000 for your thoughts and prayers and hugs. It must have worked b/c yesterday was a much better day.

The town took an enormous dead tree down the other day and my neighbor and her family came over yesterday to split it all up and cart it away. Gary and Scott went outside to help them roll logs over to the splitter. It was a gorgeous day here, 55* and sunny.
being that he is mostly shut-in, its always a good thing for Gary to get out and talk to people. Scott was out there for hours too. My neighbors are the coolest people ever. One is a chemist, the other is an artist and both are incredibly intelligent. They have always treated my kids like part of their family and they treat Scott especially as an adult. He needs that and I love that he has an outlet to discuss some of his ideas.

For those that don't know- Scott is kind of an enigma LOL He is so bad at school but has these amazing ideas that the avg kid just isn't even concerned about. Ever since he was a baby, you could see he is "different." He's an "old soul" if you believe in that stuff. He has a hard time relating to kids his own age- as he says, his "generation sucks." My neighbors kind of mentor him in a way.
So anyway, long story short, he had a great day hanging out with them, which makes me happy. Gary was feeling better, makes me happy. hearing the two of them laugh together- priceless.
Cait and I worked around inside and we watched old episodes of Bones together.

Thank you all again- the good thoughts helped so much!!!

Fran- how are you feeling today? Yup, tea with lemon and honey is always good. And its good to get the gunk out of those lungs!
How is your mom doing?

Hi Diane!! thx again!!

Maureen- how nice to be in SF! I have relatives in Los Altos, not too far from SF. Hope your legs don't hurt too much!

Do all of you have words this year? I started out last year with Joy, but i lost focus on that. I hadn't thought about a new word for this year....maybe I should.....

Eva-- John Cleese = Genius!!

Yvon- yes, Gary has Late Stage Lyme, he is disabled from it. We all do, although Scott is finally getting better after 4 years of treatment. I am in "remission" at the moment and Cait was reinfected last year.

The recipes sounds yummy and easy too! Is the pudding pre-made or the powder?

Eva- great job on the dinner pics. i would be way too scared to do that here. There would be way too many nights of "nothing."

Laurie- good for you, getting the first week done. So far, so good for me too. They are all "crap-level" pics, but I am doing it :)

Eva- great kit! I know, i wish Em was still here too.

Phyllis- I totally know where you are coming from, I was one of those moms who refused to give my kids meds unless absolutely necessary, I would try all natural or homeopathic stuff first. Now I am like a freaking pharmacologist.
Eeep! Fentanyl-- scary!!! Some chamomile tea would be much much safer!

Nana- hugs back sweetie! I can't wait to see my baby!!!! Lots of pics will be coming along shortly. I was looking at my 2011 LO's and i think I did more of him than of any other subject, including my own kids LOL

xoxoxo!!!!!!!!!

Wow Chris! Must be difficult!! A friend of my sister has lyme also. If I see how it affects her. Ican't imagine how it would be with the whole family having lyme dicease
The receipe I made it with the pre-made pudding. That is the one I buy at the store, the onethat ia ready to eat.
You can also replace 2 tablespoons of pudding for 1 egg. So you would use 4 eggs than.
Than you just stirr the eggs and sugar:-)

Morning ladies... off to work on a Sunday Ugh!! But it is inventory time and the store is closed. I will be inputting data on the computer all day so not a bad job. Beats counting everything in the store! So its very early and I have yet to dry my hair and have some breakfast. Already have a crock pot of stew going for supper tonight and lunch is provided by the store. Better :bolt: Oh guess what I found my MoJo! It was hanging out in the journaling challenge of all places. :pound: Thanks for all the sweet comments ladies, I love you all!!

Have you looked into Asperger's Syndrome? Sometimes also called high functioning autism. John is diagnosed with it, and he's too old for his age too. Yet in some aspects he's younger than his age (especially when it comes to motorical skills). Smiled when I saw that his "generation sucks" - John often says he hates teenagers :) Also - he hates school, but he's so intelligent it scares me at times.

Here's an article: http://www.webmd.com/brain/autism/tc/aspergers-syndrome-symptoms Remember: everyone recognizes some of the symptoms in themselves - doesn't mean you have AS. You have to have most of them (or all), and together they make life a little bit different and difficult.

I could talk about it for hours. I have black belt in Asperger's ;) Mother to one and wife to another person with AS. PM me if you have any questions, and don't want to take them in the thread.

HUGS to all us sickies!

Now report time.....ear ache, well not an ache ache, just mild pressure, like when you're flying started yesterday.....couldn't get to sleep right away last night because my ear kept popping.....this morning I woke up and noticed dried blood in my ear....NOW WHAT!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I've running a temperature....so am debating whether I
if I need to go to the ER or just wait and see the doctor tomorrow....

Report on Mom....she had difficultly breathing for a couple of days, they had her in the ER section of the Convalesant (sp?) hospital. Got a hold of her doctor and found out she had an infection in her lungs, they put her on antibotics. yesterday she got worse, found out she has phemonia again, they took her to ER and now she is in the hospital until at least Tuesday.....

Frani, ear ache is not funny! My oldest had ik a lot of times. Ear infections as well. Last year in June the doctor put tubes in her ears. And no more aches for her :)
She also had dried blood in the morning somethimes. The doctor told me that it is nothing to worry about if it is just 1 time. Might be an irritated 'inside-ear' (LOL I really have no idea about the english word!)
But if you don't trust it, just call a doctor :)

Hope your mom gets better soon!!

Oh Chris, hope today was another good day. So sorry for the bad ones. I wish that your whole family could catch a break. Hope you had a good day with your mom and that you got your baby fix!

We are at performance review time at work and that is a killer. So it's limiting my play time. :-) Oh well, this too will pass.
