CHEERY O
What day is it? :boink: My Wed felt like a Sunday, my Thurs felt like a Monday, and my Friday felt like a Saturday. I am beyond lost!!!
But I triple checked for my O-Fam and yes, it is Sat. Jan 4th as I type this.

(How many more days until summer? :brick: )

So yeah, it's cold and snowy but SUNNY!!!! Woot! That will make me a bit happier as I steam clean and then drive Scott to his GF's to get his car..... My poor body hurts from shoveling. The best invention in the world is a microwavable heat-pack. I might even bring it in the car LOL

Not much else going on here so I will stop complaining about the winter. (At least out loud, I will stop)

I just sweet-talked Gary into getting me another cup of coffee

I want to get a couple of pages posting in the Gallery today for the Jan Challenges. make sure you check them out, there are really interesting this month!

xoxo

Laurie- is your internet back yet? Is this the new service or the one that was giving you issues last month too?

Nancy- how was your game last night? The roads were good by the time you have to go in? The roads up here were a mess, but that is kind of how it rolls up in the mts. Our major roads are county roads which means the county doesn't rush as much as the town does about getting them cleared.

Phyllis- I am with you-- Sun is good!!!!! Keep on feeling better and make sure you get some good probiotics for your stomach.

Sandsock- brrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!! Wind chills below zero here too but not as bad as yours! Pics through glass- maybe shoot on manual and manual focus? I try to get pics of our bears through window screens and that seems to work best for me.

Trudy- chicken soup coming your way!!!! :brick:
oops! That was supposed to be a bowl of soup. :)
Hope that you are much much better today! And BTW- since can't figure out the proper pronunciation of your Nanaimo Bars, my kids have resorted to calling them Fridge Cookies and think they they are "da bomb" (quoting them).
As for the snow blower-- the electric start needs to be replaced ($200 for the part) so they just fixed the carburetor so that the pull start would work. But there wasn't enough "pull" to start it, if that makes sense.
But in a cautionary tale about FB, a freind of mine had posted before the storm how her's was in the shop too. I posted when we got the call that it was ready. She posted back how her worked amazingly. I posted back that ours wasn't working but that I was so happy that the shop tried.
Gary got a call yesterday afternoon that I had posted something negative! There was a previous post from someone who has been rude, but now this biz owner thinks that I was being rude.
Long story short, she said for us to bring it back in and see what they can do.
I feel terrible, but I wasn't rude or mean, but was even thankful that they tried. But I guess that is the new world of Social Media... :(

Nixenkind- welcome to the Ooooos! OMG, no worries about feeling boring at all. Look at me-- all I do is rant about how much I hate snow.
Hope that you get some good rest, I know that I always breathe a sigh of relief when the holidays are over.

Sandra- so sorry that the kid ahad to go to the ex's. My parents got us a little fake fireplace heater for the LR and it has been a godsend not having to keep pushing up the furnace temps.
That bites about your disks and mojo :(
There are a lot of freebies in the shop.........

Hugs and happy days to all of you!

Morning Chris I am up way too early with a headache from my sinus congestion meeeh  sick and tired of being sick and tired!! So I am sitting in front of the fire keeping warm and typing on my new Kobo Arc that hubby got me for Christmas . I love it!!! I have been looking at all the great books and magazines that I am going to read on it and right now I am in the middle of reading "Life after Life" its so great to get back to reading again!! Are you reading anything interesting? Hope to finish a page for the copycat challenge today too. Glad to hear that the sun has come out for you today! Have a wonderful Saturday that feels like Thursday??? :becky:

Oh Chris, I bet you are sore from shoveling! That is hard work! I've only shoveled my drive once as an adult. Always had a man around to do it for me and let me tell you I'm sure watching me that one time was quite comical :pound: I shoveled for thirty minutes, started cursing and went back in the house, waited thirty minutes and went back out and was so mad that I had the whole drive done in no time :twitch: It's amazing what you can accomplish when you're irritated.

howdy. first, Happy Birthday to my new Granddaughter!! The Grandmen have a baby sister!! my son called this morning around 6 to make the announcement. now to wait for a window of good weather to make the trip down to their house to see the new arrival.

Chris, what's in your microwaveable heat pack? i just overcooked my one that has rice in it, and it smells so bad i can't take it. i found one online that has corn in it, so that one is on order. i wonder if i overheat it i'd end up with popcorn in there? (snort....) take it easy with that snow shoveling!! what turned out to be the prob with your supposedly repaired snowblower?

Hi, Nancy. how much snow did you end up getting over your way? the temps in the next few days are going to be BRUTAL!

Nixenkind, hi, and welcome! don't worry about posting in here. we just let it all hang out. a good, comfortable place to check in with a few friends every morning or whenever you can.

Andrea, hi! in recent years i've let The Man of the House take care of the shoveling. i used to be a shoveling maniac. i once shoveled my entire street because the snow plows kept passing us up. nowadays i'd just call up the town offices and yell at them.

Hi, Sandra. what kind of little space heaters did you end up getting? i'm always on the lookout for good little heaters. there are some days when i just can't bear dealing with the wood stove....

Trudy, you poor thing! this has been lasting for a while, hasn't it? i hope it GOES AWAY soon. take good care of yourself! i have to look up that gift you got. i didn't recognize the name of the device. i really have begun to PREFER reading on my iPad because you can control the amount of light and you don't need a reading light!

Sandsock, hi! my camera actually has a setting that you can choose to take pix through glass. i have NO idea what it actually DOES to make that possible, but i'm not someone who likes to have to THINK too much when i take pix. stay warm! it's absolutely FREEEEEZING here! :smow:

Laurie, how's the tech? is your internet back-ish? or actually BACK? are you freezing over your way, too?

OK. now i'm off to empty my entire closet so that we can put all the Christmas decos away in the cubbyhole. this is the part of Christmas that i'm not a fan of. :frusty:

enjoy your Saturday, O-Zies! :becky:

Good morning whew it is cold in NJ. It was 9 degrees when I left the arena last night and it is 10 degrees this morning as I write this. This is the coldest it has been for ages. But I survived waiting for the train to get to the Rock. The trains were on time so that was awesome however the train was stopped before we got to the Penn Station because of a frozen switch. I thought I might miss the game but it was only a 15 min stoppage and since the train is heated no problem there. My DH on his way home had to sit much longer as the train before home broke down and then once his train started it met a frozen switch so he was delayed over an hour. My Devils were playing very well against the Blackhawks and it was 1-1 at the end of 2 periods but they lost 5-3. Blackhawks are an awesome team. Today is stay inside and watch hockey, scrap and stay warm. This weekend also have to take down all the Christmas decorations!

Chris my lawn mower is a pull start and I don't have enough pull to start it - it is so frustrating. FB is good but as with all social media you just never know how some one else is going to perceive your words.

Phylis enjoy the sun and hope your temps are warmer than mine!

Trudy so sorry you have such a rotten headache. Enjoy your reading! Reading always puts me in a good mood.

Sandy (sandsock) I take pictures through bad glass at my hockey games all the time. If the glass is clear then not much of a problem. The problem comes when my camera wants to focus on the scratches on the glass and not on the players. It will work and you can have fun trying.

Nixenkind - welcome and never feel your life is boring. Glad you are having a mild winter.

Have a great day!

Just a quick post from me! I have to pick up the kids in a few and we're going over to a friend's house for lunch!

Chris - already hit the shop up for freebies LOL

Hi to everyone else. Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Hi again everyone, feeling much better now that my headache is gone and I crawled back into bed for another quick sleep! The sun is out and MG and myself are going to try to hit the stores downtown. It is my sister's birthday today and I really must find something nice for her! She is my favourite sister, she has a sweet kind heart and has had a very rough life. It amazes me that she has stayed so positive and kind, I love her dearly!!

Phylis - your new granddaughter has the same birthday as my sister, l hope that she has a kind and gentle soul too!! Congrats on being a grandma again, now you get to buy little girl things Horray!! I hope that you are feeling much better also and that you get the nice weather headed your way so you can see the new arrival!!

Andrea - I don't do shovelling either, it frustrates my husband to no end that I don't do it right, so I don't do at all LOL.

Nixenkind- Welcome to the crazy daily's, we are always happy to have any and all join us here, like Phylis says, its just a great place to come and start your day and hang out!

Nancy - Sounds like a good plan to stay inside today!! Brrrr cold where you are! I got my decorations down on New Years Day, wasn't feeling very well but kept on going until it was all down and put away. Glad to have it all done!

Sandra - Hope you get to play with your freebies today!! Enjoy your lunch with your friend.

Ok off to the stores and see what I can find for my sister, she is really into astrology so I will hit the local hippie store downtown :becky: Wish me luck!!

Hi, Sandra. what kind of little space heaters did you end up getting? i'm always on the lookout for good little heaters. there are some days when i just can't bear dealing with the wood stove....
/QUOTE]

Wal-mart has some fan-forced heaters which are cheap, only $15. There are better ones out there, but I needed ones that were budget friendly. these are small enough to sit on a dresser which is great for the kids rooms at night, but easily moved to the living room.

Hi and Happy Sunday!

The sun is shining again which is very nice. We have a freezing rain weather alert but I am hoping that the rain passes us by. I am not sure how it is going to get warm enough to rain either, since it says that it is 8*F atm....
Not complaining (for once) :D

I am not sure what I am up to today. I steam cleaned the parts of the LR and DR yesterday with my brand spankin' new steam clearer that I got for C-mas. Might do the upstairs hallway if I get motivated.

Then it is the highly exciting activity of clipping and sorting coupons and gathering info for all of the phone calls and appts I need to deal with before work tomorrow.
We keep getting billed for scott's ER visit from the school bus incident when it is supposed to get paid by the bus co. And I need to find a new eye dr for new glasses and contacts. I went to a Walmart based optometrist last year and while I love the idea of the bifocal contacts I thought I would have adjusted better to them. I wonder if maybe the dr I saw wasn't really all that good?
Then I want to call my new ins co. and verify I am all good to go for my biopsy next week. And then.... it have to call to switch my kids' PCP on their new insurance sicne they screwed that up too.
How does all that sound for a Monday morning? LOL
Not so fun, eh? Which is why I want to do some of the prep work today.

Lastly, I want to try and figure out why my computer is running so darn slow. I ran malware/anti-virus/ccleaner scans and I am all good. But something is running where is it shouldn't be. grr. I am determined to figure it out. (maybe)

Have a wonderful day!

good morning it is cloudy and as Chris said it should be freezing rain then rain overnight. So my hockey team lost to the best team on Friday (the Blackhawks) and then the worst team (Sabres) on Sat. Not a good weekend at all for my team. But now I am watching the World jrs. from Sweden. Fun to watch the kids play - they wear their emotions much more on their sleeves than the pros. The day actually warmed up so I did get in a walk. I waited until the temp got above 20 and then bundled up. Wore my boots not my tennis shoes and I was sweating by the time I finished. Got some scrapping done so that was good and will try to get more done today.

Chris plan and prep should make your day tomorrow go so much better. Have fun scrapping.

Sandra I love my little space heater. I am not sure I would survive winter without it.

Trudy thanks for sharing that photo of your painting. You truly have a talent!

Phylis congrats on a granddaughter. That is so exciting! I bet you cannot wait to go and see her! yes weather temps brutal and even though we are getting a slight break they will be back by mid week.

Andrea I shovel when I my DH is not available but lately my son has been helping out a lot. He nicely cleared off my car so I did not have too.

Have a great day all.

Good morning- my internet is back, we shall see what happens with this weeks bitter cold. Right now I am doing the prep work for the week- aka laundry and clean up! I finally filled the bird feeder. I figure they will need it. I would love for some snow, while I am home and it is daylight. Yesterday I was MIA as my husband had to go do some work on the other side of the state- so I road with him.

Morning ladies... very chilly here again today and had to thaw the hummingbird feeder this morning. Poor little guys were hovering at the window waiting for me to hurry up and get it done LOL!! Thanks ladies for the wonderful and kind comments on my painting project, it turned out pretty good, but I really need to buy some new paints, it was hard working with some of the old stuff as it gets thick and difficult to work with. I think I should really get back into painting more, but no one is interested in buying, perhaps if I sold on Etsy or something like that?

Chris - You got a new steam cleaner!! How nice that you don't have to deal with the old one anymore, no more leaks!! Sounds like you have your work cut out for you for tomorrow!! Hope you manage to get it all done and that you find out what the heck is wrong with your slow computer! Hubby's is running very slow also, but I think I will have DS look at it later on today. Yes they are coming back home for one more night here before flying out to Cold Lake tomorrow. I have a black berry pie all ready for dinner tonight for him, his favourite!! Ice Cream for the kids and his wife Jackie, she does not like Black berries. So happy to get them for one more day!!

Sandra - I should check out Walmart for a space heater, my room where the computer is gets a bit colder than the rest of the house and I could use the heat in the early mornings!

Nancy - Sorry it was such a bad weekend for your Devils!! Our Canadians did not fair well again this year at the Jr's. not even a medal. Sometimes we get a bit too overconfident about our hockey here and this is a good wake up call for us!!

Laurie - Hope your internet is going to be stay with you now!! It is laundry day for me too, how nice that you spent the day with your hubby when he had to work on a Saturday!! Enjoy your Sunday!!

Phylis - Are you off to see the new baby today!! I hope so!!

Ok I have to get moving and get ready for the onslaught of grandchildren and all the ski equipment that will have to be cleaned and packed and I am sure they will have lots of other laundry to do before packing it all up for the trip home. Excited to hear all about how the kids did with their new skis!! Have a great Sunday everyone!
