Daily Ooos: January 29-30: Snowy Weekend Edition

To all of my friends along the Mid-Atlantic and New England coast, I am sending good, warm thoughts to you. Because even though it is only 15*F (Real Feel is below zero) and expected 4-7" of snow, I know those areas have it so much worse than here. Boston might be getting over 2'!
So my crazy son is camping. He checked in with us last night, the cabin has a fireplace or wood stove or something because he said it is very warm inside. He is going to freeze his butt off (literally!?!? Probably not, but let's hope for no frostbite) when he has to go to the bathroom. o_O
They are at a state park campground about an hour from here. When my mom calls to check on us (because she will!), I am going to have to tell her that he stayed with friends. She doesn't need to know it is a cabin in the woods. Can you imagine how panicked she would be?

Yesterday was really dull. I did nothing - paid bills, renewed my driver's license, did laundry. Not much different than today except that today I will also be shoveling the snow. bah humbug.
I should do some scrapping to get ready for some Feb challenges. Now that I have a few new pics of the little ratties I can get inspired.

Sending big hugs to everyone, hope you have a wonderful day!

@LSlycord Love the idea of making a paper chain as a countdown. You are going to have so many things to scrap for your ABC book. You are only old as you feel, mentally. Physically- nope, let's not go there. in my case, I would be 90! You too? :D
That is such great news that Decker slept on your lap, a good sign. ITA, better to be cautious and go slow with the other two dogs. I still keep a close eye on W when the two of them are outside, barking at someone on the street. She can get wound up and snap at J. Never on her skin, but you never know what might push her brain over the edge. You can see W working at regaining control over herself. She does that too when she barks at the rats in their cage. But god forbid one day she doesn't. We fed all three dogs in separate areas of the LR/DR which helped but in the beginning it was tough to keep them calm.
How cold will it be by you today? Stay warm! And yes, I did tell Scott to bring extra food and water in case they stay until Sunday and a shovel in case his car gets snowed in

@tanteva You have to ask Marten if Willow is a long lost relative LOL Beautiful cats <3
Hope you and Urban and Marten had a cozy evening together

@taxed4ever Poor hummingbirds being so cold but seriously- if I had the ability to fly somewhere warm, damn straight I would! haha
Glad that you saw the sky, did it warm up enough to go out for a walk?
Did your DS do rappelling in the military? Or was that just a "fun" hobby he picked up on his own? Scott showed me pics he took on the frozen reservoir the other day and I about passed out. I am *phobic* about falling through the ice. Kids will give us panic attacks non-stop.

@mom2triplets04 heh, I love that "precise" forecast of 4-11"- how much have you gotten? Myla must be so happy with the snow.
Good luck with the new trainer. I really need to get one for Jaida again. She is stubborn and we have let way too much slide with her. But it is expensive and not really within the budget.
Are you still doing good with the Bible readings? Hope so!

@Cherylndesigns
SCOTT GOING CAMPING????? Is he cray-cray???
Why, yes. He is. 100% Loco. I like camping but I went *once* in the cold and it snowed and I was miserable. Never do that again. Ne-verrrrr.
I think Scott got the pretzels on amazon. He likes Pirate Booty. Its popcorn? I know we have had bags in the house but I don't know if I ever had it. Enjoy the warm-ish weather and sunshine.
I also got the notification that I can update to Win 11. Not a chance. No way, no how. Hope the laptop behaves better for you

@scrap-genie Too much snow by you too. That is the pits when you keep getting plowed in and you all must be feeling somewhat cooped up.
This year's Puzzle Up sounds intense. Is the deadline Jan 31? Good luck!

@Vicki Robinson *snorts* Oh my goodness, you are so funny!!! I am not which comment made me laugh the most- the golf/getting the man out of the house, the 18 yo surgeon, or the never-used muscles. What an ordeal of a day you had those so it makes it more impressive that you can laugh about it.
Laughter has to be the best medicine b/c it sure as heck wasn't the Urgent Care.LOL
Whatever you do with your designing schedule, you always seem to have it down pat. *bows to the queen* BTW, I really enjoy reading your newsletters, they always make me smile

@BrightEyes The ColorPlays were even more amazing than usual this month, weren't they? I had to laugh at the coffee getting cold comments, you must have been busy.
That is my kind of meal- mac and cheese and apple crisp. Yummmmm

@tanteva that is really exciting about the research with your friend's ancestry. Hope that you are related and who is related to Buzz Aldrin, your friend? That is almost as cool as being related to you.
Almost :p

HAGD!

Good morning ladies. It is freezing...well, not quite but very close. It is 38* with wind chill it is 28*. I went out to let the dogs back inside and I actually "yelped". Crazy...lol. Sydney is working this morning and she has so many layers on....including a winter coat and glove. She will be outside with the day camp dogs most of the day so she needs layers. I told her that probably some of her co-workers don't have good winter coats because they have never needed them.

Didn't do much yesterday except sit with Decker. Then once Brian got off work, I switched with him and I spent the evening with Andie and Hayden. Then Shaun got off of work and he had Decker. Oh my...talk about a crazy house and crazy people. Still looking for a job...have a couple of additional interviews and one place that I interviewed hasn't decided yet. I can't help but wonder if I'm at the end of the line...although I'm still getting good feedback from interviews.

So we will see. For now, I'll keep busy with my scrapping and paper chains and dog sitting. LOL I probably need to do another art journal page.

Let me get another cup of coffee and a sweatshirt and I'll be back for personals.

@faerywings I am still amazed that Scott is camping in this. Then, I remember back to my younger days. I was still in college and I worked the 3-11 shift about 2 miles from home at a convenience store. We had a blizzard that evening but were silly enough to keep the store open. After I closed, the owner called and said to wait for Jim who worked at the store about 5 miles away. Jim was about 25 and he would come and pick me up and give me a ride home so I didn't need to drive. Well the plows had kept the highway open but when we got down to the corner of the highway where I needed to turn off, it had drifted closed. So I got out and walked through drifts that were above my knees everywhere and sometimes up to about mid-thigh. LOL Haven't thought about that night in years...but I remember not worrying at all. Why? Because I was young and strong and invincible or at least young and strong (and as Meatloaf said "2 out of 3 ain't bad")! Thanks to Scott for bringing back that memory! As for the dogs, we will just keep working on them. And I woke up to a call in the middle of night telling us that we were under a hard freeze warning. I swear that is the strangest thing. Wake me up for a hurricane warning or even a tornado warning but not for a hard freeze warning.

@tanteva your Friday night routine sounds so lovely. Chips, TV, cat, and hubby sounds perfect.

@taxed4ever yes that's what Moms do...stop the fights. LOL I can't believe that it was so cold that your hummingbird feeder froze. The poor birds...actually poor all of us...when will winter end? I guess I shouldn't complain because we are supposed to hit 82* on Wednesday. This is quite a weather swing, even for a girl from Iowa. And, yes, your sister doesn't get to tell you how to eat. But somethings are worth doing to keep the peace.

@mom2triplets04 glad things are going a little bit better. Sure hope that you can find a trainer that actually works. I am almost thinking that if we wind up keeping Decker, that both Hayden and Decker may need professional training. Andie is much better after the training...we are the slackers with that but when we pay attention to it, Andie is great. And she needs to be because at 95 pounds, she is sooo strong.

@Cherylndesigns so glad that the posting didn't act up yesterday. I will tell you that I have used your story as a cautionary tale and am hitting save frequently. I'm clear up between St. Johns and St. Augustine so it is even colder than south Florida where your daughter is. I like the fact that it gets cooler up here but this is downright cold! And no one needs that! I can't wait for Wednesday's 82*.

@scrap-genie I don't remember where you live. Do you get lake effect snows? Because that's a lot of snow to get dumped at once. Of course, being able to exchange genealogy information sure helps pass the time. That can really make time fly.

@Vicki Robinson I am not far behind you at 64 and I agree...the age of these doctors...they look like kids now. And, if I get a doctor that is my age, I always wonder if he (not a lot of women doctors my age) really has the stamina to do anything of significance. LOL I'm sure that's what people think of me as well. And, as far as the unused muscles go, I had so much energy the other day that I went and scrubbed the water line of the pool which caused me to do a lot of bending. And then, I hd to complain to my 19 year old son that my legs were wobbly. He said that only happens if you really use your muscles and all you did was clean the pool. Well, let me tell you, muscles aren't the same at 64.

LOL @BrightEyes love that your coffee got cold while you did layouts. I agree, the Color Play is amazing this month. What a beautiful color palette.

Well, got to devote some time to scrapping...and getting layouts posted. I'm behind...but what else is new! Everyone stay safe and warm. Spring will come...it always does!

Happy Saturday everyone! Well we are back to fog this morning  . It is starting to lift though, so hopefully we will see some sunshine today! DH was up very early as usual but has gone back to bed to see if he can get in a few more zzzz's We don't have too much to do today, so I hope to be here for a while and get caught up on some month end things. I think that my DH will spend the better part of the day putting the rest of our new patio set together. I am sure there is hockey games to watch also, so he will be busy with that also. We hope to get out for a hike sometime this weekend and just need to decide which one we should do. I got my groceries yesterday morning and when I went to pick them up the major intersection going into town had some major problems with the traffic lights. Flashing red along with green then yellow oh brother what a mess!! So it took me twice as long to across the highway! There are a lot of people who forget how to use a four way stop!!! When I left the pickup place at the grocery store I decided to go to my fav craft store which is just a bit out of town, not too far. However when I was coming back into town, the traffic was backed up like crazy, because of that stupid traffic light still not working. I turned off a side road and avoided having to go through that light again. Whew made it home with my new goodies and got all the groceries put away. DH and I had a nice lunch together of Broccoli Cheddar Soup (turned out so good in my instapot!). Keto friendly too! Yumm!! Then I wasted the afternoon binge watching the last season of "A Discovery of Witches". I hope to be a bit more productive today, but you know my DH always has something that he needs to do and it usually involves me having to help LOL.

@faerywings - For goodness sake don't tell your Mother that Scott is camping in that wintery weather LOL. She will give herself an anxiety attack!! Sorry you had such a dull day yesterday, seems there are lots of those days for many of us! At least you will be getting some fresh air and exercise shovelling all that lovely snow today! Ughh!! Hope you don't throw your back out! It did warm up enough for me to get out for a short walk yesterday, so good to feel the sun on my face for a change! Our son did do some repelling in the military, but it was also something that both him and his wife loved to together and they made many trips to the high mountains to enjoy their hobby. I freaked every time he talked about it. LOL.

@LSlycord - Man I can't believe how cold you are in Florida, what the heck?? Well at least it sounds like you will be back to warmer weather a lot sooner than we will be here! Great idea making the paper chain countdown! Heather is doing the same with the boys this weekend as they are continually asking how many more days before they go to see Isaac and Sadie. Its a long drive for them and I know Heather is not looking forward to the "Are we there yet's??" I am keeping my fingers crossed that they have good weather for the 6hr drive!

@Vicki Robinson - I was killing myself laughing at your post yesterday! We have a very young Dr. living next door to us and sometimes DH and myself say to each other, he can't be more than 18, he has such a baby face LOL. Of course I am sure he is older than we think, because they have two little girls and have been married for at least 8 years. I am right up there in age with you at 65, turning 66 in April and yes the muscles are not quite the same and everyone looks way to young to be doing what they are doing. I hear ya about getting your man out to golf!! Sometimes mine is like a puppy and follows me around and that is just on the weekends!! I can't imagine having around 24/7 LOL of course I love him dearly, but he really needs a hobby!

Ok I need to get into the shower and get some breakfast for the two of us, will catch up with everyone else later on! Have a great Saturday everyone!

Ok DH and I are all fed up and I will continue with personals...

@mom2triplets04 - Sorry that you are having puppy issues! 5th Trainer?? Perhaps your puppy is deaf! I hope that she starts to behave better as she gets a bit older! It must be tiring for you all!

@Cherylndesigns - I don't know why everyone is unhappy with windows 11 I have it on our new laptop and it is great! However there was something that I had to remove after installing it. Wish I could remember what the heck it was o_O. I am not a fan of the windows operating system and really do prefer my Mac, but DH likes a PC so the laptop is really more for him. I use it with my Silhouette machine mostly because my iMac is too old and doesn't have the right bluetooth. So it works out for both of us.

@scrap-genie - Awww thanks for the nice compliment on my card for our DD! Sure hope your snowy days are behind you and that you can soon get back to your Art Classes again! Guess you are keeping busy with the family research.

@BrightEyes - Yes the colourplay this month were all so stunning! You need to get one of those coasters that keeps your coffee warm. So do I as I am constantly warming up my coffee too! Gosh I haven't had home made mac and cheese for years! I remember how good it tasted! Sounds like you are not a fan of the Windows 11 either. I know that when I removed this one part of it, it was just fine and hasn't given us any trouble since. Darn I wish I could remember just what it was LOL oh well it will come to me eventually.

@tanteva - Ha, Ha, Buzz Aldrin you crack me up! Hope you find some information on your friend and yourself! It would be cool if you were related!

Ok I need to decide just where to go for a hike before the rain starts later on in the day.

CHEERY O
Good afternoon OOOZZZies,

I guess I missed Vicki's @Vicki Robinson funny post yesterday - I need to go back and look at it. I LOVE it when a doctor walks in and he looks like he's about 19! We don't have too many of them out here, they're a little more "seasoned".

Chris @faerywings Trudy's right - don't tell your mom! She doesn't need to know that. Give her more to worry about. "Staying with a friend" - yeah - go with that - smart move! I have no doubt that we are ALL certifiable - I KNOW we are.

Linda @LSlycord my dd told me that it's going down to 20 tonight! I always told the joke that "when Florida freezes over" - lalalala - you know that one. Well, it's happening. She says ppl are terrified of their pipes freezing. I'm sure! So you're north of her, but still it never gets that cold except in the panhandle. They occasionally get snow up there.

Trudy @taxed4ever I looked 11 over pretty well and it just didn't look like anything I NEEDED, or wanted. Chris @faerywings my computer is STILL lagging - I'm probably going to have to break down. They own us. :( My mouse is driving me crazy too. It's lagging! I looked that up and, of course, if nothing else, you need to upgrade your or GULP* re-install the drivers. I think I'm going to go buy a new mouse today. Like I said, they own us. GRRRRRRR Trudy @taxed4ever I swear the next laptop I get will be a Mac! I've never had anything but a PC, but I'm getting tired of dealing with windows. It's always something and I'm really needing to be able to get my pictures from my phone to my pc easier. Everything else I have is IOS.

Chris @faerywings I had answered you about the mobile groomer in the post that went bye-bye. It was really great to have them come right to our front door. She cut them a little shorter than we like, but we had gone past our time and they were both pretty matted. They sure are feeling their oats since they shed some of their fur, though. If it was frigid here, I'd be unhappier, but it isn't. Everytime we get a new groomer, they cut them down and want to start over. She said after one more grooming, she'd have them looking great. Lila's little face looks cuter than it ever has and she put pretty bows on both of them. They do feel frisky. Apparently, they needed to get all of that matted hair off. I've vowed to start brushing Daisy again. Will I do it??? I used to sit on the floor at night, while we watched TV, and brush her. That was in Florida because we kept her hair shorter due to the heat. I brushed her to try to keep the matts at a minimum. They matt so badly.

Sending hugs to everybody.

Well, I was wrong and our plow guy did do our driveway yesterday. So I guess we can get out but the drive now seems to have walls of snow along it. @LSlycord we are on the North Coast along Lake Erie. We do get lake effect snow, but that original 15" wasn't. And all you old ladies in your 60s make me smile as I'll be 78 in May. Not quite as old as Chris's mom, but almost. A dear friend in my genealogy groups is only 53 and marvels at being the "young one" there.

Chris @faerywings I don't know what's wrong with Scott's camping. With a cabin and heat and friends it sure doesn't sound bad and I bet he's loving it. Would I want to be out in the cold? No way, but he's still young enough to like it. Oh, and Puzzle Up goes to about mid-February, so we (there are 7 of us) still have time and under 100 parts to go. Glad you got rat pix to scrap.

Folks, sorry to cut out but I've run out of steam and need some lunch.

One more day until DD and 2 cats come to spend a month with us while the renos to her place are in progress. I am looking forward to it. She will be working from here half the time and going in to work at the universities to teach in-class sessions. Our daily habits will have a bit of an adjustment but it will work out.
@faerywings DD and her partner go snow camping in a TENT! I think a cabin would be a lot nicer. It is not for the faint of heart for sure.

The roofs were all frosty this morning so I guess spring will be a while yet. I hope the primroses I bought for my little hummingbird friend makes it as happy as I am with them. It beats looking at dried up leaves. I see the the hellebore is starting to bud up and bulbs are poking their heads out as well. Oh joy,:( hubby just informed me that an atmospheric river is in the forecast then a possibility of snow on Tuesday. What a buzz kill. Good thing our bird feeder has a heater attached to prevent freezing so they will be okay.

Speaking of PC's, mine is starting to rattle and roll. It means the bearing on one of the fans is in its death throes. Hubby says it can survive with just one fan if necessary. He will take it apart and check things out. Getting new parts with the shortage is going to be a chore. I usually get an updated motherboard etc every 5-6 years so it is due. I just have to remember to back up my things regularly.

Late again getting in here... I was scrapping away and had a page almost done then.... GRRRR!!! PSE had a crash and, of course, for some reason I had not saved... not anything!!!:rolleyes:o_O:mad: I calmly got up and walked away from the computer...(if you believe that, I have a bridge for sale!!). I did walk away and calmed down for a bit. Funny thing was when I started back again, I was able to remember all that I had done and so it was faster to get it done. Of course, I was saving as soon as I did a few things... over and over again. Turns out I made some changes from what I had done before... and like this page even more than the 1st one I did. I finished the LO and took a break and had lunch. Can't believe I was careless as I usually save LOs like mad as I work. @Cherylndesigns - I felt your pain when you lost the long post... and today I was feeling my own when I lost the LO. Of course, it wasn't a simple one - but had a template and one with lots and lots of layers and word arts I had created. Not sure if I am being paranoid but I have been running a back-up to the EXHD every day now before I shut down.

@faerywings I agree to just tell your parents that Scott is with friends! Save your parents worry and you don't need that on top of your own concerns about him and the storm. I think he Scott is loco to go into the woods when the weather is bad but he is young and feeling his oats. His challenging nature that way may be a way of boosting his self-esteem.

@Kythe Yes, it will be a bit of adjustment while DD and the kids are with you but know you will enjoy having there. I just heard about the atmospheric river gathering steam and headed your way. They are forecasting it to hit here around Wed-Thurs. Hope your computer holds up and your DH can find parts for it, if needed. I am hoping my computer will hang on for awhile longer as I am not feeling up to transferring stuff to DH's computer right now.

@tanteva You had me LOL.... so Buzz Aldrin is a relation of yours!!!

@scrap-genie I am even older than you... I remember turning 65 and going on Medicare. Guess I am lucky as my doctor is in her 60's and is full of vim and vigor! And she really listens and cares about her patients.

@Vicki Robinson Have to admit that your post had me ROFLOL - yes, I have muscles I haven't used in a long time and they really kick up when I do things I haven't done in awhile. Thanks for giving us such a fun look at those of us who are 'older'! Seriously, I feel for your hubby recovering from his back surgery... BTDT and it isn't fun. My last back surgery was when I was about his age... so can sympathize with him totally. So sorry that you had to make 2 trips to urgent care to get the bleeding under control.

Will try to catch up on the other personals soon. CYL

I am so done with winter. So. Freaking done. I have been sitting in front of my light, taking Vit D, doing meditations with lots of affirmations. I still can't seem to feel right in my skin. Winter makes me so unhappy
Meanwhile, Scott seemed to have a great time in 5*F weather. He called in the morning to let me know they were all good. They had gone for a short hike at night and then snowshoeing yesterday morning. The cabin had a wood stove and between that and the cabin being so tiny there was pretty much only enough floor space for 4 sleeping bags, they had to keep the window cracked open.
I was successful in telling my mom that everyone was was safe and sound and she didn't ask more than that. Whew. I cannot lie to save my life which is why I had a small omission-statement (haha!) prepared.

I think we got about 5" which wasn't bad but shoveling it was brutal with the wind chills. I didn't do much of anything, I was jumpy all day. I can't find some paperwork for some assistance we get for our electric bill and I can't call until they open on Monday. I spent most of the day freaking out about where I put the paperwork if I even got it. Usually, I am so good about filing it as soon as I get it in. OTOH, it is gonna be worse if we aren't eligible for the assistance b/c there is no way I can afford a $300/month electric bill. It has never been an issue before since Gary is disabled but *throws hands in the air* Who knows what happened? I get so mad at myself when I lose things.

*puts tape over mouth*

(we need our smilies back :D)

I have no plans today other than getting ready for the week ahead. I was thinking at The 3 AM Insomnia Session (that's my regular session) that I need a project to do, something to keep me busy. But what???

Blergh, I hate when I get in these moods!!
Anyone want to share some pictures of furbabies to cheer me up, get me out of this funk?

TIA!! <3

@LSlycord Oh Linda, that temp is awful! Even up here that is brutally cold. Syd is lucky that she knows how to dress for the cold and has a proper coat. I bet you are right that many of her coworkers don't.
I love it, your house was Musical Dogs! I still have my fingers crossed for you for good interviews. My BFF is looking to switch jobs and started to apply. She has been with the job (communications dept in a local school administration) for12 years and is thinking it is time to do something different. It has to be hard to do that at our ages.
It is really true- looking back to when we were young and "invincible" - no wonder our parents were always worried about us. And payback is a b**** :D Can you imagine Shaun or Syd walking home in a blizzard? YIKES

Speaking of dog training, this came in my vet's newsletter: https://trainyourdogmonth.com/
I haven't looked at it yet, but there has to be some help. J doesn't weigh as much as Andie, but she is 70 lbs of brick. Maybe I can find a way to save up and get some training done in the spring.

@taxed4ever Is the sun out today or do you have more fog?
I am LMBO at the 4-way stop. On paper, it is the easiest thing in the world to navigate, But get 4 cars there, holy moly, what a mess. There is a 3-way stop on my way to my mom's and I take a route around it. Complained to the kids when they were little that the Stop Signs there didn't work. Scott said-- But it's just an octagon on a stick, how can it not work? LOL!!!
Broccoli Cheddar Soup is one of my faves. It is a good day for soup. How is this season of DoW? We will have to wait until it's on Hulu or wherever we usually get it.
I would freak out about my kids and the SO's rappelling or mountain climbing. Whatever the exact opposite of adrenaline junkie is, that is me.:)
When are the boys going to see Isaaic and Sadie? So exciting for them. Will they bring Poochy?

hehe, you all know how much I love Gary but having him home 24/7 is nooooooooo picnic. :p

@Cherylndesigns awwwww that is so cute that the girls have bows in their fur. I hope the weather stays warm so they don't get chilled while their fur grows back a bit

@scrap-genie that has to feel good that you got plowed out. Just be careful with the blowing snow.
When I was Scott's age, I was much more adventurous. I was more worried about him not being able to get home if the roads were bad. He was up by High Point NJ and the roads are def. even more rural than by me.
Good luck with the Puzzle Up!

Eva-- that is really cool!! I know someone famous!

@Kythe I am sure that you and DD will adjust to the new living situation, the cats... not so sure about them :p
What????????????? snow camping in a tent??????????????
That is beyond Loco!!
*faints*

Uh-oh, the fan sounds like it can be a problem. That is how my last computer died. Gary did the same, took it apart, got the dust off of everything, and that bought me enough time to back everything up and get a new computer.

@BrightEyes OH NO! That bites when you lose the entire page. I try to recreate it but it never comes out the same so I am very happy that you did and like it better.
I am a compulsive Ctrl-S-er but when things go wonky, that's always the time I didn;t stay on top of it.

Good morning ladies. It is really, really cold here. It was 30 when I got up with a wind chill of 20. But it's up to 41 now and the sun is shining brightly! Right now they are predicting upper 70's by the end of the week and after tomorrow we don't have another high predicted of less than 70. I am ready. Now, of course, it won't be long until I am talking about the awful heat...but we probably have a good 10 weeks ahead of us!

We spent more time working with the dogs being together last night. They did ok. Hayden and Decker still act a bit crazy. Andie acts like she just wants Decker to go away. Thanks for that link @faerywings. I have already watched one of the videos...the one about owning a large dog. And searched the website. Good grief...I sure can spend a lot of time and accomplish nothing. LOL

I actually completed a layout yesterday but I when I saved it for the web, I didn't really save it for the web. I didn't reduce sizes. I was so irritated with myself that, although it would only take a few minutes, I just walked away. So that's something to do before the day ends.

Anyway, I'll be back in a bit for personals.

Happy Sunday everyone! Not foggy today, the rain has taken over and we are in for wet weather for the next few days. It is a bit milder too, so that is nice. My Gary and I got out for a really nice hike yesterday, to Stoney Hill one of our fav's and very close to where we live. It was grey and cloudy so the parts of the hike that were deep in the woods were kind of dark, but still so pretty with so much green moss covering everything. It was good to get out in the fresh air! Our hiking group is starting up again on Wednesday, but that is DH's birthday so not sure if I will attend that hike. Perhaps the week after. I will see. Today I am getting some breakfast food ready for DH as he gets up so early and won't make himself anything but cereal, no more milk in our house and he can't have cereal anymore, so I make breakfast egg muffins and other quick and easy things for him. So I will be in the kitchen for the better part of the day. I think I might do some deviled eggs today too.

@faerywings - sounds like Scott had a great time with his friends, how fun to do some snowshoeing and being out there in nature! Nice to know that they were all cozy warm in the little cabin! Heather, Jonah and the boys are going to Jason's for Heather's birthday on the 16th, so the boys are very excited to be missing a couple days of school and getting to see their cousins! I sure hope that the weather cooperates for them, they won't go if the conditions are bad.

@LSlycord - Brrr, so chilly for all of you in Florida, that is just crazy! Does it damage any of your plants when it gets that cold? Sometimes when things don't go well in Photoshop, you just need to walk away and try again later LOL. Hope that the dogs all learn to get along together.

Ok I had better get busy with things today, have a nice Sunday everyone!

@taxed4ever yes deaf has crossed my mind with my dog but I think it's selective hearing. She's a teenager they say at 9 months and husky's can be very stubborn. But we did notice that if we use hand signals she does listen more and does respond. Yes, this will be our 5th trainer. The 4th trainer gave us our money back and told us that we need to work on impulse control. She's a very hyper dog. I sure hope this new person can help us. 1st trainer wanted us to associate with other puppies. 2nd trainer did that but she was just too far away 45 minute ride and it did not work for us but she did enjoy puppy play. 3rd trainer was close but puppy play was only 5 minutes. 4th trainer wouldn't let her play with other puppies she was all work and Myla was just too hyper so as I said she gave us our money back. Then finally we got her neutered and she is now attending puppy camp but they too said she has to work on her manners so here we are going on 5th trainer which will come to our house which is better than us going to them. Wish us luck. We need to work on Leave it, leash walking and recall.

Wow, I made it by the skin of my teeth. I've been gone all day. Ava, Adrienne and I went to a bridal show (YES!) today - there was actually one at the Indian Casino right here in town. We normally have to travel over an hour to get anyplace. I guess Ava and Ryan are "thinking" about getting married - eeeekkkkk! I'm not ready for that. We went to Nancy's Pie Shop for lunch before that and ran into the whole family there. I'm really pooped tonight - fell asleep during Yellowstone for goodness sake.

I had potato soup and a chicken salad sandwich today - it was so good. Chris, @faerywings hope you enjoyed your soup. You didn't get pounded with snow, huh? So far, we're holding in there. I think we have a cold front coming in, but only for a few days. Yes, I hate it that the dogs got cut so short and it's not warm yet. Oh well, they grow fast. So, how fun - snowshoeing. I did that years ago - it's pretty hard. Not as hard as cross country skiing, though. Yikes I hated that.

Trudy @taxed4ever , glad you got out for a hike and your muffins sound really good.

Laura @mom2triplets04 you're really having a time with your dog. I was telling my DH about it and we laughed about all the training we had to do with our Lab rescue. We finally ended up using a guy who trained the Michigan State Police Shepherds. He was something else!

I've got to finished some stuff up around here - month end and all. Kythe, the frosty roofs sound pretty and I hope things go smoothly with your dd and the cats.

Hugs to all.
