Well, the world did not end yesterday, so that is a good sign. I also made it through the day without going :boom:
Good times, good times...

How is everyone this morning? It looks to be a very pretty day, sunny and in the 50's. I hope the weather is nice all over the US for the Women's Marches. Wish I could be at one.

I cleaned my kitchen really well but Gary and Scott had the inauguration on and I ended up watching with them. Cait came down and we sat next to each other in shock. What a speech. It blew my mood for the rest of the day which made me break my rule about unplugging and spent waaaay too much time on FB and Twitter.

Today, I think that I am going to try to clean another room, maybe LR and see how well I do LOL

here is a peace and love to all!

Nancy- I am so sorry to hear about DS's friend's Dad. I remember that you had said he was very ill over the holidays and at least he didn't pass at that time. :(
You did have a very full day, and I bet thatLuther was one pooped out puppy by the time he got home.
How did the game go? Hope the devils kicked butt!

Trudy- you must be one very relieved Mamma to know that Heather has a new furnace. yeah, we didn't need the vet expense any more than Cait's car expense. The check engine light was still going on and off, and it is the throttle sensor or some such thing. :noidea: There goes another $300 and we won't even have her car back until Tuesday. :frusty:
It really is *always* something.
Def. try the coconut oil for your popcorn, it is a great alternative.

Rae- how did everything go for you yesterday, did you get everything done that you needed? :high5: for giving up coffee after lunch. I try to do that too and either have a cup of green tea or vanilla chamomile instead. Some days I really need that hit of caffeine, however.
Let me see if I have some of my old ACDSee tutorials still on my computer and I will share them. They are for much older versions but the tips on how to use categories will be the same.
You can also embed your metadata in your files which can be recovered after a crash.

Jean- Good to hear that your Dr visit was fine! Don't ever apologize to me about wearing black. It might be appropriate on more than one occasion. (that speech, OMG, that speech! Ack!)
yeah, they were busting me again about the Legos for breakfast. I asked Cait last week to let me know if they are ever making fun of me to actually hurt my feelings. :pound:
As of right now, I laugh my butt off with them.

Much love to you all!

Jean- I did see about Granger :(
We could tell something was up, at one point we thought he might have had a stroke because of the way he was talking. But I guess they knew it wasn't looking so good for him. I think they way they are writing him out of this season is a nice tribute to him.

Good morning, ladies. Got up a bit early today, at 6:30. Enjoyed the quiet as I sat in the LR and read my book. My hubs is still sleeping and Taz is snoozing on the couch. Called my hairdresser yesterday and she fit me in for a haircut. Took a few inches off. She noticed that my hair was thinner than she's ever seen it. Yep, I said menopause and thyroid problems. I started on the biotin again and hopefully that will help. She started the biotin months ago after I told her about it and she said she has noticed a difference in her hair. We had a quiet night, watching TV and I was browsing through some online magazines. Today we'll take Taz to the park and I'll get groceries. The kids will probably pop by today b/c they didn't make it over yesterday. Should be a quiet day.

Chris - I didn't watch the inaugeration, I just couldn't. I will see if I can figure out today how to save my tagging. I'm stumped with acdsee right now. I don't understand categories. I can get files/folders into categories but then anytime I try to select a category it just keeps re-adding files into it. I don't understand the purpose of it. I though I could click on a category i.e. oscraps and then it would show all the files/folders I dragged into that category but it doesn't, it just keeps re-adding the files in again and again. Obviously I am doing something wrong.

Everyone else must be sleeping in today. Hope you all have a great day.

good morning - Luther had a great walk and got to see lots of dogs and lots of dogs were out on their walks. The little dogs just like to bark at him, it is pretty funny. I don't think he understands why they don't want to play. He had a great time at day care and yes he was one exhausted puppy! When we got home from the game he got up said hello and then went back and laid down. He was still sleeping when I came down but he was still ready to walk when I finished breakfast. As for the game my team seems to forget how to play the game at home and lost to the Canadiens 3-1. I know this is going to sound like a repeat but dang I hate it when the refs give the game to the other team and that is what they did last night. My player hit a Canadien and he ended up crashing into the boards. My player was given a 5 min major - what a joke. It was a penalty but not 5 min. They scored twice. And yes my team should not been able to try to kill it off better than that but they should not have been in that position. When our player John Moore was stretchered off the ice there was not penalty. Where is the justice in that. The only fun thing at the game was that 3 hockey newbies came to the game. And I mean they were newbie. So we talked and I explained some things. They cheered for the Devils so that was good! Tonight we are going to dinner which is also a Devils viewing party. There will be games and prizes so it should be fun and I am hoping they play better as it will be against the Flyers. I am going to take my camera and shoot in RAW and see what happens in Lightroom. LOL. Other than that I have not plans. Yea. I did watch some of the inauguration and his speech was pretty horrible. It did not sound to me like he was talking to all Americans. I think it is pretty awesome all the women marching!

Chris I love the Leggo story and I am sure they are laughing with you! So sorry that you are having to put out more money on Cait's car and the puppy!

Trudy yea for Heather having her home heat finally fixed! What a relief for her! Though I bet Mason barely feels the cold! I know I always was over dressing my sons. Glad to hear swimming is going so well!

Rae hope you day went well! And yes I am sure that Taz probably would love some friend time. Luther knew as soon as we headed into the parking lot and he could not stopping talking and wanting to get out. Thanks for the tips with Lightroom.

Jean glad the Drs. appt went well.

Have a great day all!

Happy Saturday ladies... I slept in until 8:30!!!! :bliss: It must be because the temps are a bit milder and the heat pump is not constantly running?? I won't question why, I just love that I had a great sleep! DH was up at 5am just because that is his usual awake time, but is now back in bed happily snoring away LOL. Grocery shopping and bit of running around for errands, maybe a new toaster oven for us as mine has kicked the bucket! Always something right?

Chris - I know that your kids are laughing with you my friend, you kids are so great they would never do anything to hurt your feelings! I hope that your cleaning goes well today! I did not watch the inauguration, just like Rae, I just could not bring myself to do it! It doesn't surprise me though that his speech was horrible, he is a joke!!

Nancy - I am so steaming mad at the ref's too!! It was so obvious that something fishy was going on there! There is no way that player should have gotten a 5 min major!! And then not to give one to the Canadiens for there hit on your player?? WTH!! You will have to watch the next time the Canadiens play, you will see that they are always given the chance to score by some stupid penalty on the other team, someone is getting paid off I think!! DH saw that 5min major call and just couldn't stand to watch anymore, he can't believe how bad the refs are!! Sorry that your Devils did not kick Montreal's Butt!!!
kicked-out-smiley.gif

Rae - how nice to have the house to yourself this morning! Everyone else snoozing away LOL sorry to hear that your hair is thinning, that did not happen to me when I went through menopause, although the weight gain sure happened! My blood work shows that my thyroid is normal and so I will not be going back on the meds for it. I am happy to not have to be on any kind of medication! I think that the thyroid thing was all a part of the menopause and hopefully everything will level out now. That is too bad that you are having so much trouble with your acdsee! It must be very frustrating for you! Hope that you can figure it all out!

Well I better get the coffee pot on, I need my one cup this morning and DH will be looking for some fresh java when he wakes up again. I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend!

Today was the monthly meeting of my computer genealogy group which runs from 9:30 to 2:00 so I'm never here until much later as it's about a 35 minute drive too. I had an interesting time with my talk in the last session. Thought it would be useful but it also generated a lot of discussion that I think was great. I've quit as program chair for the first session and that isn't going too well, but we did wind up with a very good talk and slightly improved attendance. Didn't hurt that a January meeting was on a day that started sunny and got into the 60s!!

Chris, we just have to hang in there and do what we can. My Dr. said to call our Republican senator regarding the confirmation hearings. Still a little intimidated by that idea. The thought of Pruitt heading EPA makes me sick. Other nominations sound similar. Hope the Women's Marches provide needed solidarity. Closer to home, sorry about Cait's car. You're right, it is always something. Despite everything, you always make it clear what a loving family you have!

Rae, wish I knew about things like ACDSee, but don't use any of the involved programs. But there's no doubt you'll figure it out. Hope the computer is behaving.

Nancy, what a bummer about the officials in the hockey match. It is so frustrating when they're seemingly so biased. Good for Luther on his friends and funny about the little dogs. Bet you and he are enjoying warmer weather. I know you'll have fun tonight, but hope it's also a win!

Trudy, how funny that your MG is up so early but then back to bed. I mean, what's the point? We surely have no idea sometimes about the minds of men. Wonderful that you had a good sleep. Hope your shopping was successful and you've got a new toaster oven.

Hope it's a good weekend for all!

Happy Sunday to you all. Anyone need a:tea:?

I wanted to get so much done yesterday but I spent the majority of my day glued to my computer, watching the Livestream of the Women's March on DC and reading Twitter accounts of the ones happening all over the word! The photos gave me chills.
I took a break later on and cleaned the LR/DR but ended up going right back to my computer when I finished.

My parents are coming up with bagels this morning which will be nice. I also have to figure out how we are going to deal with cars this week. Not sure how Cait is going to get back and forth to school or when I will go food shopping, plus a Dr appt an hour away. Hopefully, she can find rides and it won't take long for the part to come nad and get fixed.

Ugh, I get so discombobulated.:violin:

What nice stuff do you have happening today? I hope it is relaxing and fun!

Rae- Biotin is good for thinning hair? I will have to remember that, although it will take a lot of thinning to be noticeable in my rat's nest. And yeah, it was literally a rats nest yesterday when Little Clovie was burrowing into my ponytail yesterday. I was wearing a (bright pink!) hoodie and she just had a great time snuggling in the hood and in my hair. :D
Did the kids' stop in for a visit?
I am sorry that I didn't get a chance to look for my ACDSee info. But when you are tagging, are you using the categories in the Properties Pane? If I am tagging Ribbons, I have the Category Embellishment/Ribbons. I select the ribbons in the kit, and then check the box that says Ribbons. The category will stay unless you uncheck that box. You can make any of you own categories and Sub-Categories.
When you use Keywords, you used to have to hit Apply to make that "stick." I think you just hit Enter now, can't remember off the top of my head.
I reread what you wrote and I am wondering if this is what happening... in my old version, there were two very distinct panels for the Properties and the Catalog. The properties pane is where you add a file to a category. That is the little square box immediately to the left of the category. But if you want to bring up say all of your Papers, you have to go to the Catalog, and then select the Category you are looking for which shows up as the little blue arrow farther to the left in that Pane. When you click on the Arrow for Papers, it will bring up all of the files you have tagged as Papers.
Does that make any sense?

Nancy- Bet you got Luther out a lot yesterday. It was a good day for it.
That really does stick about the refs. :( hahaha! So you have some newbies to indoctrinate at the games LOL
How was RAW and lightroom?

Trudy- good for you for sleeping in! I was up early again today, used to being up at 5 am like your DH. Yeah, my kids do like to make fun of me but I know that they love me and wouldn't be mean. I was even making fun of myself about the legos too. :p
That's wonderful news about your thyroid!! :whoo:
It makes a lot of sense that menopause would mess with your thyroid as it is all part of the endocrine system.

Jean- how cool that your meeting created so much discussion. I love stuff like that. Even better when it is done during a 60* day!
I am lucky that we finally voted out a very hardcore Tea Party Republican in my district. (He initially voted against the Zadroga 9/11 Bill b/c there weren't tax cuts. )
But that doesn't mean I am going to stay quiet. I can't if I tried ha!! :censored:

Better get going, the puppies want to go outside and Jaida needs her morning meds.

Well so much for great sleeps LOL Its 5am and here I am wide awake and just could not listen to my DH snoring any longer :becky: We binged watched a few episodes of "Stranger Things" last night. OMG I am right into this Netflix Original Series!! Kinda creepy but loving it! Not much on my plate today, some housework and :washing: and hopefully some scrapping too! Yesterday we ended up ordering a new toaster oven from Hudson's Bay, they had the one that I wanted for half price and free shipping so hooray for us! We actually saved some $ for a change.

Chris - I know that discombobulated feeling! Hope Cait can figure out how to get to and from school and appts etc. I was blown away by the sheer numbers of the Women that Marched yesterday! Hope that their message was heard loud and clear!! Oh my its going to be a long 4 years!!

Jean - How nice that your meeting went so well! I did get my toaster oven purchased, but now have to wait for it to arrive. It's a Cuisinart Convection Toaster oven with lots of features. I can even cook a rotisserie chicken in it or a 12 inch pizza! I love using the toaster oven in the summer especially as it won't heat up my already very hot kitchen.

Ok off I go to waste some time browsing around the internet. I should be doing something a bit more productive, but what fun is that? :becky: Have a great Sunday everyone!

good morning - yesterday was fun. We ate at an awesome Italian restaurant and watched the Devils win 4-1. It was in the Lounge area and lots of TVs. There were 6 at our table and there were lots of cheering. Four goals for the Devils is almost unheard of so that made us really happy. Miles Wood our super fast rookie scored twice and had a fight. So really fun. Not much else going on. We are expecting a nor'easter late tonight with a lot of wind. And today I have hockey all day on the TV.

Chris I was watching the women's marches too and the news from today which I think speaks volumes is there was not one arrest in the DC march. Now the pressure just has to be kept up. Hope the car situation works out.

Trudy hi early in the morning. Glad you got your toaster oven ordered. We have no counter space. Thanks for the thoughts on the refs. The head ref from the NHL actually called my head coach and told him the refs made a mistake it should only have been a 2 min cross check. Glad they said that but what good does that do my team who lost. So yes I do think the Canadiens totally get the benefit!

Rae my DH had Luther back at the dog park and he said he ran his legs off. Then I took him to get his bath and Luther was so vocal. I am sure he was telling me off LOL. Now that I want to shoot in RAW I had not had a chance LOL.

Jean so glad that you had such a good meeting with lots of discussion.

Have a great day all!
