It is so quiet in my house right now. I don't even want to type and wake anyone up. Mostly dogs. I don't want to wake the dogs.

We are supposed to get our first big snowstorm. We had that one in Nov, where we got about 10" but IIRC, it melted down pretty quickly. The local forecast is saying 5-8" but mixed with ice. Should be lovely.
No one has to be anywhere so that is good- Scott will be at Leah's and the rest of us will be here, cursing at the puzzle. Gary figured out a "cheat" for figuring out where specific pieces go. He took a picture of the puzzle from the box, then zooms in on it to make it to scale. Then he can line up the pieces on his screen to see if they match. :pound:
The majority of the puzzle is in shades of brown, reddish-brown, greenish-brown, which make sit next to impossible for Scott who is color-blind to see the differences in them. Sadly, it is becoming an obsession to finish the darn thing soon so we can eat at the table again sometime this year.

Scott said his interview seemed to go well and that it sounds like it has the job, even though nothing specific has been said. No updates on Timber, he is just the same. :(
The rats are back in their big cage now that they are officially recovered from their spaying.
I had a dream that we got rid of Ravyn last night, we let her wander off and I was relieved that we only had two dogs again. That is so awful that my subconscious thought that. I honestly have no idea why I would dream that.
I tried to scrap yesterday afternoon but came up with nothing that I liked. Trashed the same LO about three times. I hate when I get like that.

That is about it from me. Have a wonderful day!

Jeanette, I used to feel the same way about weekends. The kids even called them "Daddy Stay Home Days." Since he became disabled- they are just another day in the Faery Household LOL But I bet it is still exciting for everyone else.
haha! That is funny about the "what do we do now???" after the power going out and the "Homework/mom is out of her mind" had me

Kay- I imagine that you were very relieved to get rain only. Whew! I wish that would happen for us today.
Hard water stains are not something you want to deal with when you back is bad. Not even a tiny bit. I use Scrubbing Bubbles and a Mr. Clean Eraser sponge and even then it is hard work.
What kind of books does Roni Loren write?
That is horrible about your friend's health issues. My MIL had knee surgery and then a few weeks later, fell down the stairs and broke her wrists. It was a bad few months for her.
The dogs are now awake...back in a bit!

Whoa- it is *frigid* out there. Sure feels like snow. Blech.

Trudy- woo hoo on god sleeping! I am sure that not coughing all night is a big help in that. You were very productive with scrapping and painting. (wish I could say the same for myself). I don't know how long snakes can live, but it is sad seeing him all curled up and not moving much at all. I know that some people will say he's just a snake but he is a living being and that means a lot in my mind.
yes, men!! I hope that Jonah gets all of those little things taken care of for Heather although I bet she would be very to have her dad come out too :D
That is really cool about your google mini and the shopping list! Sweet!

Rae- When you are calculating pay in your head, remember how much time and money it costs to commute and I bet it makes up a lot.(I am sure that you know this already, not that it stopped me from butting my nose into it)
That is good to hear that D is feeling slightly better each day. Hope he will be healed enough for the conference and that he doesn't get stubborn thinking it is 100% better and overdo it.
Enjoy your visit with B!

Hi Jean! Good to see you are well, even if not scrap-inspired. I know that feeling right now too. I guess we are getting the same storm system as you? Yuck. I hope that the weather cooperates for your meeting. Be safe!
Haha!!! You read my mind! As soon as you said that you imagine "artists" being good at puzzles, it immediately popped into my head that I am not an artist :pound:

Now the dogs are wanting their breakfast. Better get off my butt and do that.
xoxo

good morning - well my hair is done and it is shorter than I usually get but I want easy wash and care. Poor Luther, my DH took him to day care but they had no reservation. Somehow I did not hit the confirm button. Oh well my DH has him out today on a nice long walk. Monday is the only day where going out will be the pits with subzero temps with wind chill. I felt so bad about messing up the day care. My DH and I have talked about how to set it up for Luther next week and following days. Oh well it will work out. Yes the storm should be intense but now it seems to be more rain in my area. Chris you are higher and further north just enough to give you snow. I am hoping no ice! That is the worst. It is pretty but so damaging. My Devils play an early game today but I am not going. I am healthy and I don't want to be around people who may not be. Also it is cold and so I am looking out for myself first. These next 3 days are just getting the house in some order and that is rough lol. Starting with my bedroom is the best and will make me the happiest.

Chris so glad you are feeling better. Sorry to hear about the snake. I hope he eats. Is he not moving because he is too cold. Stay warm and I hope you won't get too much snow.

Jeannette yes the weekend are great and lol I think it is the dog that loves them as he gets so much attention. I feel you on vet bills. Our German shepherd had lots of ear infections and it took us so much time and money to finally do the allergy tests to determine that he is allergic to a lot of stuff including food he was eating. What dog is allergic to beef and lamb? lol He is allergic to dust mites and to dandelions so he cant be outside or inside. Poor baby is on day allergy pills to keep down the itching and other stuff. That does seem to be helping. We were with out power for over 10 days after hurricane went through. We had a generator that helped a lot but in the evenings we played a lot of cards. That was fun brought back a lot of childhood memories. We also have a gas stove and gas water heater so that really helped. But it is a shock for kids when they have no electricity.

Trudy glad you are getting such good night's sleep. I too find that going to bed later, I sleep later. Your scrapping pages are beautiful. I have to get back in gear!

Kay love the way you read. That is too bad about your friend and her hip and now arm. Glad you are only getting rain. Sorry the event was cancelled but better safe!

Rae so glad that you are getting some days a less work. And glad that D is getting better. Enjoy the free time with Taz next week.

Jean good to see you and I had no doubt you were busy with your genealogy studies. Hope you don't get too much snow. Looks like it is heading your way though.

Have a great day all!

My daughter has a chronic illness and she had infusions this week. So we are happy it is over and she can sleep in. I'm beat from lots of extra driving and making up every hour missed at work. My day is sipping on a hot cuppa tea and catching up at Oscraps and doing some scraptherapy! So grateful for this creative escape.

Happy Saturday ladies... although by the sounds of the weather that most are getting this weekend it will not be a great day! Perhaps the perfect type of day to stay indoors, keep warm and do some scrapping. Or if you are Chris and her family...get that puzzle finished!! For Christmas I got a puzzle made for my Gary and it is the same photo that I just finished a page for. The one in front of Mont Saint-Michel, so far we (I mean me) have only gotten the outside parts done. So today I think I will move it out to the dining room table so that we can both work on it and then pass it on to MIL/FIL. They enjoy doing puzzles together. Other than that not much happening around our house today. The usual errands and getting a few groceries :bored:

Chris - Must seem so weird to wake up with not even the dogs awake yet! Sorry to hear that you will be getting hit with this snow storm! I sure hope that you do not get the freezing rain with it!! That is the worst!! It is very dark and gloomy here this morning, so I am sure the rain will be hitting us hard today! Temps are mild though, so no snow for us. Heather is now in paint colour change mode
painting-smiley.gif
and she is getting Jonah to help her paint the bathroom this weekend. Wonder if it will actually get done or not :mmph: Sure hope so, he also has a closet door to fix that has not been done for a couple of weeks now and weather stripping to get put on the front door where you can see daylight coming through it :gaah: really that is a quick fix and it should not be left for so long!! Guess he doesn't mind spending a fortune on heating bills!!! Ok I will shut up now or I will say something that I will regret LOL :tape: That was a strange dream you had about Rayven, wonder where that came from?? Hope Scott got the job, although I am sure that he did, hope that your scrapping mojo returns to you today too! Sorry that Timber is not showing signs of improvement.

Nancy - Oh dear that is too bad about the doggie daycare! Sure hope that you can get things straightened out with it before your surgery! It will be good to stay home and away from anyone who might give you a virus, you are so smart!! Good luck with getting your rooms in order and ready for when you will not be so mobile. I think that perhaps you will not take long to recoup from this, you have done all that you can to get ready!! sending you lots of healing vibes for upcoming surgery!! Thanks for the nice compliment on my page! I am working on a second one of that special place. Take care of you and stay warm!!

Lorraine - Sure hope that your daughter is doing better! Enjoy your quiet day of scrapping!

Rae - Glad that your work day wasn't too bad yesterday! It must get discouraging when you spend all day at your desk! But remember that you do not have to fight traffic or spend a fortune in gas each week! Plus you get to go for a walk with Taz when you need a break and that makes it all worth it!! Can't believe that you have gone through all of that baking you did earlier!! LOL Oh well now you can try some new recipes perhaps? Enjoy your visit with B today!

Jean - Glad to see that you are doing well, but sorry you have not been inspired to scrap lately. Hoping that weather cooperates for your meetings, although it is good that your hubby is going to go with you just in case! Hopefully your nephew will not make a bad decision to drive if the weather turns ugly!!

Well the rain has started and I am sure it will be a wet weekend, once the tap is turned on it doesn't usually shut off for quite a while LOL. Enjoy your Saturday ladies, hope you are inspired to do something creative today!

Good morning, ladies. Just taking a few minutes to enjoy a coffee and be online. D went to an accupuncturist (I thought it was a chiro appt but a friend recommended this so he is going to give it a try). He is slowly feeling better but is still painful.

Last night we watched Bohemian Raphsody and loved it. Rami Malek is such a good actor.

Just started using a collagen/MCT oil coffee creamer that I picked up yesterday. I know there are mixed reviews on these products but many swear by them so I figure if it might help my joints, my skin/hair, and brain function, while suppressing my appetite and being a healthy fat, then it's worth a try. I don't eat in the morning so getting in more healthy fats is a good thing for me. It's like a supercharged bullet proof coffee. I ordered extra MCT from amazon and when it comes tomorrow I will mix my own blend of the two, as I don't need more than 10 gm of collagen a day but my body can use the extra MCT. It doesn't have any flavor but adds a creaminess to my coffee and I still put in a splash of coconut creamer but as I get used to it I might not even need that. We saw something like this out at the GF expo last wkend but the price was much higher so I'm glad I waited and did some research on it first to get the best price. Jen bought a similar kind of MCT powder that was 3 x the money so I wish she had waited. I thought it was pretty pricey but it's her money, who am I to tell her how to spend it. I think she'll switch over though next month. The good thing is I can bring this out to the trailer to use too and as its a powder, I don't have to worry about keeping it in a cooler like coconut milk.

D should be home in a bit and I'll get some chores done before heading up to see B for the day. Maybe I'll get some baking done tonight (never did last night b/c we watched the movie).

Chris - enjoy the quiet. Your G is pretty smart, figuring out that cheat for the puzzle. Glad S's interview went well. It sucks when you scrap and can't get it just the way you want. I've trashed LOs before too that just didn't come together the way I wanted.

Nancy - good idea to get the shorter cut. You don't want to have to fuss with your hair during your recovery time. Make things as easy as you can. Luther will survive not going to daycare but you're a good doggie mom to feel bad about it.

Lorraine - glad the infusions are over and your daughter gets to sleep in. Enjoy that time with your tea and being online. Yes, I agree....scrap therapy is a great escape. I sure haven't had much time for it but when I do, I get lost in it and just feel calm and happy. I need to try to make more time for it if I can.

Trudy - everyone seems to be working on puzzles. I'll be working on B's with her later and hopefully D can too as he can sit on the little stool I brought up last time for the puzzle table. We'll see how he feels when he gets home from his appt in a bit. Looks like the rain is going to decrease this afternoon and looks like none tomorrow. Looks like I'll get out for a jog after all.

I'm getting another coffee and will get a few things done before D gets home and we figure out if he can come with me to the hospital to see B. Hope you all have a great day!

I chickened out and decided not to go to the meeting. The question was really one of timing and it seems I should have gone as it didn't start snowing here until noon with the wind not picking up for a while after that. Oh well, I felt better to be safe either way. Tonight I'm making chili and we'll watch one of the movies we brought home from the library. A little house cleaning has been on the agenda too of course.

Chris, you do have some interesting dreams. Hope the puzzle comes together soon. We recently did one of fall colors that was similar in the pieces all looking alike, not very sharply defined shapes, and it was so frustrating. But we did it! So I'm sure you all will do the same. Ha! caught you. Knew you'd claim you aren't an artist even though you are.

Sorry, on the phone now, so later...

Chris: I am a big puzzle lover too. Right now I am working on a 1500 piece one. I only like the ones that have separate sections. Like tea cups or books. That way I can section off pieces as I see them and join the larger pieces later.

Dogs and Vet bills don't even get me started! My wallet is $1000 lighter this month alone. sheesh.

Just chillin' today. Puzzle, book and some scraptime.

Good morning! I have good news and not so good news. It didn't snow as much as it was forecast, that is the good news. The not so good it that it is sleeting and then tonight it is going to become very icy as the weather turns frigid. As in near 0*.
I just took the dogs outside and if the driveway/roads aren't cleared well today, it is going to be really dangerous tonight. Thankfully, I don't have anywhere I need to be today but Scott is at Leah's and is planning on coming back sometime this afternoon/evening. I hope that he keeps a close eye on the weather. I am trying to be respectful of his need to be treated as an adult but darn it, it not easy! LOL

Not much happened here yesterday. We did a little more work on the puzzle and we are a little more than halfway done. My ILs stopped up for a little while in the afternoon to drop some wood off for Gary and fabric for Cait. Oh-- and I got a batch of coupon inserts too. I never did get to scrap, which is just as well. I was not feeling creative whatsoever. Today is gonna be my day! That is, after we take turns trying to push several inches of slush off of the driveway. *winks*

HAGD!

Nancy- good for you getting all ready for surgery. I am sending you super-quick healing and low pain vibes. Don't beat yourself up about missing Luther's reservation, it isn't like you had anything else going on in your life or anything /s
I am meeting my BFF for lunch on Monday and I am already dreading how cold it is going to be.
Did you get all rain? I honestly would have rather had all snow, it would have been easier to shovel.
That is too bad that you didn't go to the Devils game but it is a smart decision.
Timber didn't eat yesterday so Scott is going to try to see what other foods might entice him to eat. He is is a "hospital tank" instead of his regular tank. It is set at a higher temp and doesn't have the rocks and trees for him to get hurt on since his coordination is off. Who knew that a snake could get neuro damage like that?

*claps hands over eyes* Don't get me started on vet bills!!!!*runs away screaming*
I think I deserve frequent flyer miles at my vet. :pound:
Lorraine- how is your DD? I hope that the infusions help her feel better. Does she get IVIG?
Trudy- Don't do it!!!!!!!! Do not move that puzzle to the DR table unless you have another place to eat! I think the photo puzzle is such a great gift idea.
How was running errands, not too busy hopefully?

Rae- That is good news that Dis feeling somewhat better.
That is interesting about the collagen/MCT creamer. Hey-- if it makes you feel better and isn't breaking the bank, why not use it?
Jean- the bad weather started later than it was forecast here too but is always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to being on the roads in snow.
Chili and a movie is a perfect way to stay cozy too. What did you watch?
OMG- you know me too well!! That is so funny about my reaction to being an artist!

Karen- 1500 piece puzzle! Yikes-- this one is 1000 and it is gonna be the death of me!
How is Joey feeling today?
xoxo!

Morning ladies... it is chilly this morning, but no snow and so far its not raining either. Yesterday was a very laid back day for both DH and myself. We are still feeling the effects of this darn cold and once we were done with grocery shopping etc. we decided to just sit on the couch with a nice warm cup of coffee and a blanket and watch a movie. There were so many other things that we should have been doing, but we really need to get over this dam virus!! Left overs for supper and back to couch afterwards. We decided to watch A Star is Born and found a really good copy of it on Kodi. It was so good!! Lady GaGa has one beautiful voice and Bradley Cooper and her were so great together! We really liked the movie! So we really were couch potatoes yesterday! :becky: Hoping this morning that I will manage to get some housework done and if it is nice outside, we were thinking of getting out for a short hike or walk.

Chris - I love your puzzle! Of course it is a Disney one so that should be right up your alley!! Yes I got the puzzle moved to the dining room table, but we only use that table when we have company so I think it should be safe there. Sorry to hear that you are getting sleet this morning and really hope that Scott takes his time to drive home and is safe!! I am worried about my son also with the driving conditions as tomorrow he leaves to Kingston Ontario for a course and has to drive in the bad weather. We never stop worrying about our kids, no matter what age they are. Hope you feel a spark of inspiration today!

Rae - Hope you can get your jog in with Taz today! I agree with Chris on the collagen creamer, if it isn't too expensive and it makes you feel good then use it by all means! How was the chiropractor for your D? Hope it gave him some relief from the back pain! Wasn't Bohemian Rhapsody awesome!! We loved it too!

Jean - Don't blame you for chickening out on attending the meeting, better to be safe than sorry!! I made chili the other day for my DH so he had that for supper again last night and I had the left over chicken and caesar salad. Easy peasy dinner prep, I love that! Hope you enjoyed your movies that you got from the library!

Kythe - Hope you are having fun with your big puzzle, those are the kind that I like too! Ouch on the big hit to your wallet this month.

Well I best get some breakfast on the go and get going with my day, lots of cleaning to do and :washing: too. Have a great Sunday everyone!

We did get lots of snow and blowing snow but this morning it was pretty nice and not as cold as it will be (just under 20 instead of single digits), our drive got plowed, a neighbor kid helped DH shovel remaining bits and nephew and his wife are coming over at 2:00. But now it is snowing and blowing again, yuck. Last night we watched Oceans 13 which is pretty dumb, but still sort of funny. Hadn't realized the actor who plays Danny Williams on Hawaii 5-0 was in it.

Karen, I don't know about 1500 piece puzzles but imagine they're pretty challenging. We have two 2000 piece ones given to us that we can't do as we don't have a space big enough for them.

Chris, just wondered what the dogs make of you all working on the puzzle. All the dark areas on that must be a trial. Good luck with your weather!

Trudy, hope it stays nice and you get out to walk or hike, but also both get over that nasty bug.

Sorry for being MIA this weekend... had a rough emotional day on Saturday so stayed solitary until I could work through some of the emotions. Taking it a day at a time right now.

Managed to get a shower done in a big hurry this morning. Hopped in at 8:10 as I need to leave for church at 8:40. Rushed out to the garage but when I pressed the garage door opener... it moved up about 2" and made a horrible crunching sound. I stopped it immediately! A couple of days ago, it closed but the back bumper was too close so the door hit it. Instead of reversing like it should... it kept trying to close. Stopped the opener and got it to reverse - pulled the car in more and closed it again. But... it stopped about 2" from a full close. So, this morning I tried to pull the emergency release so I can manually lift it - but it was hung up and wouldn't release. Had to get a step stool and a strong pair of pliers and hit the release latch till it finally let go. Manually lifted the door but it kept trying to roll closed again. Got vise-grips on the track to hold it up so I could get the car backed out. Then ran back - removed the vise-grips and closed the door. Tried to use the opener again as the door wasn't locking closed... but more racket so reverse it again. Finally success on it locking. By now I am running late. Went out the front door but my key wouldn't lock the deadbolt... rush back in and grabbed DH's set of keys and finally got the deadbolt to lock. Got to class 10 minutes late ... to discover that the preacher was even later arriving than I was.

DD#1 and DSiL#1 came over to see about the opener around 1PM. DSiL#1 and GdSon-in-law will come over next Saturday and replace the opener for me. They just did one for GdSon-in-law last week so know they can take care of it. Whew.... Think my pulse rate has finally slowed down now. Don't like leaving the car on the driveway but not going to wrestle the garage door. Have a sheriff living 2 doors down [with his car parked there every night] so think it will be okay.

Of course with all the running late, I only got 1/2 cup of coffee and the body is saying it doesn't work on so little coffee!!! Traitor!!! No time for breakfast either... and the bowl of cereal at noon wasn't enough. Think I may go curl up with a book and a bag of popcorn and veg the rest of the day.
