Hello and happy weekend. It is already 9 am and I have done nothing but drink coffee and read the news. I don't have anything to do today so I guess I am "allowed."
Yesterday was quiet. I made the dog treats, Cait and I finished the puzzle we were working on, and I played with the rat babies. Caitlyn and I are both impatient that they don't love us yet. They will bond at some point but it feels weird when compared to how the older girls are.

I still have no idea how much snow ad ice we are supposed to get, all I know is that it is supposed to be messy. It might be a good day to stay in my PJs.

Not much else to say... surprising for me, right? heh.
Hugs!!!

Kay- those photos are crazy! I would never have believed those were taken at night if it wasn't you who took them. I would have sworn they were taken during the day. It is kind of creepy. did it end up melting?
I made soup last night too- "fake" cheeseburger macaroni and cheddar bay biscuits on the side. It was a good night for it here in NJ.

Rae- How were the roads by you? Hope you were able to get out, that sounds like a great sale. When is the next storm coming through? I hope that you can get to the movies with B, I bet she will laugh a lot at Dr. Dolittle. Tell her that Imogene is starting to get bigger and runs all over the place. Evangeline is still very small and shy. Livvie is warming up to them both and will seek them out when they are together. Evie loves to snuggle in sleeves and hoods. I will see if I can get some new pictures for her to see.
I wish I knew more about why my mom is now against the pacemaker. She is making silly (to me) excuses and I can only listen and try to guide a bit.

Trudy- oh no, not more snow for you. :( Your trip is on Monday? I know it is soon... I hope that the roads clear up.
Coupons were sent and that was the only time-sensitive thing I needed to do CT-wise. So strange.
No way would my mom ever use a welder. Just the thought makes me laugh. She is also freaking out about the magnetic security sensors in department stores. Everything I have read says that you can walk through them, just don't stand there. She is worrying "what if" she decides to take out her glasses and stands there too long looking for them. She isn't seeing the "take 2 more steps forward" solution.
Yummy baking is only yummy for the dogs and rats- sweet potato oatmeal treats. Safe for humans if you like no taste. ha!!!

Nancy- Excellent timing to have the pipes fixed although to be w/o heat yesterday, even for a few hours couldn't have been good.
Can I get a chorus of "Men!!" Why wasn't your DH using the eye drops? :frusty: :p
when will he need the cataracts done?
Thank you for letting me know that your friend uses her cell phone all of the time, I will let my mom know that. Maybe it will help.
Good luck with weather today.

xoxo

Weather here is not so fine. I'm supposed to be at the computer genealogy meeting, but it is across town and the conditions are awful. When I got up there was snow, it was 27, but it was sleeting. Then the wind picked up and it looked terrible, so I called and said I wasn't coming. Now it's just gotten above freezing and things are dripping. It will be icy for a while and in the afternoon just rain. I feel awful as I did this last January for weather too. I don't do the morning presentation, but do a user group and then the afternoon session, at least if I'm there. DH was definite in not wanting me driving in those conditions. To make myself feel better, I took a photo of the feeder and scrapped the seasonal challenge.

Chris, sounds like a good day yesterday. Are the LG rats progressing in socializing as expected? Must be strange though with two sets. Cute that one of the OGs likes them. Don't know what to think about your mom in this case, but it's probably not that unusual, especially for someone who has avoided doctors like she has. All you can do is keep on gently encouraging.

Hope all of you are getting weather you like or that it goes away soon if you don't.

Good morning, ladies. The big storm didn't hit last night so not sure if that means it's delayed or not coming at all. The temps have stayed above freezing since yesterday and when I looked at our weather app, it forecasts rain and temps around 40 for the few wks.

I was in bed at 10:30 last night, the week of shoveling and hiking thru the snow wore me out, I slept really well. I was able to dig my car out yesterday and our neighbor helped. I had to laugh b/c D came home from work, said that the neighbor must have shoveled the drive but it was done so well LOL. Yes, I am a terrible shoveler.

Today I'm off to the drycleaners, the natural store and will get out with Taz for a long walk. I'm determined to get some scrapping done today. Right now I'm doing laundry and puttering around the house and later will make up my gluten free baking blend so I can make muffins. I've been putting it off all wk so want to get that done.

Chris - I'll tell B about the rats, she'll love hearing that. I'll show her your gallery again and she'll get all excited about it (b/c she'll forget she already saw it).

Jean - sounds like nasty weather. Stay home and safe.

Hope you all have a great day.

good day - well woke to sun but now the clouds are here and we are getting intermittent snow falling. It is pretty. Saw that Newfoundland is having heavy snow and there was an avalanche in the town of St. Johns. The photos were scary but not one was hurt. Amazing just what snow can do. I have done my wellness water workout so that makes me feel so good. One of the men in the pool is a photographer and we had good conversations. That made the exercising go fast. He gave me his card and now I have to check out his website. Now my DH and the dog are out for a walk. Hockey starts early today so that makes me happy. My team plays tonight against the Blue Jackets and Cory Schneider gets his first start in a long time. Should be interesting. Of course now with the trade deadline coming up numerous names from my team seem to be players other teams might want. I wait to see what happens. Worked on knitting while I was watching hockey. Really liking this pattern.

Chris yes it is going to be messy once this snow turns to rain. I am not looking forward to that. Good day to stay inside! Glad the play time is going so well. Congrats on the puzzle.

Jean I am so glad that the snow did not start until after I was done with wellness. I would not have wanted to drive either. Sorry you missed your group as I know how much you enjoy it! Better to stay safe.

Trudy hope you did not get more snow. Seems like all of Canada is getting lots of snow. Hope the propane truck made it to your place. I would not like to be without a fire and heat.

Rae seems like you are really getting lots of snow! Hope you can make it to B and see the new Dolittle. Have fun with Taz and I am sure the birds and squirrels are happy to get the seeds.

Kay hope weather is good by you.

Have a great day all.

Morning ladies... a very quick pop in and out of here today! We are off to do some errands and pick up a few groceries. Raining and windy here today, but at least no more snow this morning. A bit fell last night but it soon melted away. I just wanted to pop in and say hi and then get going. Sorry :sorry: no personals today! Still no propane truck, they said on the chat that I had with them that it won't be until the 20th REALLY?? Oh well they have had way more snow up island than we have, so I imagine that the roads are bad. We are pretty much out of fuel, but thank goodness the power has not gone out yet and we haven't really needed the fireplace to keep us warm. The heat pump is working well especially since the temps have warmed up. Ok I am outta here :bolt: have a great Saturday everyone!

Been a busy day today. Wasn't sure if I would get out or not as it was 26 at 9 AM! But the sun was out and the wind wasn't blowing and the streets were clear. There is snow still on ground in many places - the back yard still is half covered but it is melting. Finally after doing a few things around here, I ran some errands that I had been putting off. So I did a long round-about while running errands. Dropped off mail at PO then on to AAA to pay my yearly membership.. stopped next door to it to return a set of sheets, then stopped in the same strip mall to check if Target had the mesh veggie bags [No, they didn't]. Then stopped at the main mall and picked up cardstock that I needed - then crossed the street to the hair cut salon. I am happy with the way she cut my hair - so keeping her name so I can go back to her. Yea!!! Then headed home with a quick stop at the mailbox to pick up mail. At least the temp was up to 40F by then.

Why did I return a set of sheets??? Well, yesterday I laundered one of the new sets I got a couple of weeks ago.. and they shrank big time - the flat sheet was about 8" narrower and shorter and the pillowcases were 2" shorter - they barely cover the pillow now!!! They were 60% cotton and 40% poly so they shouldn't have shrunk that much. I will have to use them on the guest room bed as it doesn't have a deep mattress so think the fitted sheet will tuck under okay... My MB mattress is 18" deep so it won't work on it. I was also surprised that they wrinkled badly... so think the label on the package was not right... think they were 100% cotton! So won't buy that brand again!

I am tired so will cut this short and may take a nap. CYL

Good morning to you all! It is cold and snowy but thankfully, we didn't get too much just a few inches. It was strange. The morning started not really looking or feeling like snow. Then it started to get that damp chill and within minutes it was coming down like crazy!

I feel bad for Gary ATM. Both kids are at a friend's house, they stayed over last night. I can't shovel so Gary is out there on his own. I guess it could be a lot worse if there were a lot more.
Not much happened here yesterday although I was able to spend much of the afternoon scrapping a page for Ona's challenge. Same for today, not much other than getting ready for the busy week ahead.
Hugs!!

Jean- I hear you about feeling badly having to cancel due to weather. I feel like any plans I make in the winter need to have that asterisk next to it *not if it snows. Smart move to stay home though. woohoo for scrapping int he afternoon!
I think the babies are socializing well, just the contrast between them and the OGs makes it seem like there is a huge difference. Also, Cait had been focusing on them socializing with each other and less on being handled by her. Now that they are more comfortable with the OGs she is working on getting them used to "hands."
After I posted yesterday about my mom, I started thinking about what *exactly* does happen if there is interference with a pacemaker. I know that my mom is thinking that it will stop working completely or explode or something very dramatic. Turns out, from the FAQs I read, that it might not keep the heart beating regularly while the cell phone in too close and that the pacemaker will resume working fine once the cell phone is moved farther away. When I mentioned that to her, she seemed a bit better. (for now.)

Rae- hope the storm totally passed you by. You shovel like Gary paints. LOL At least the shoveling and hiking are helping you sleep well.
How was your walk yesterday?
I am glad that the rat stories make B smile :)

Nancy- I saw some of the videos and photos of the snow in Newfoundland. That is not a place that I ever want to be, nope!
How much did you end up with yesterday? it was a good day to stay inside and knit and watch hockey.

Trudy- happy to hear that you didn't get any more snow. I hope the propane comes soon!*fingers crossed for continued good weather*

Kay- you did a lot of running around, was the foot ok after all of that? It is awesome when you find someone who "gets" your hair and cuts it well.
That is crazy about the sheets! Good that you can return at least one set.

Chris, the foot did very well even with the running I did yesterday. I won't say it is completely healed but is much better now. Am wearing shoes all the time which is a relief!!! Had planned on going to church this AM but have had an upset tummy and other stuff hit after I had been up about an hour so decided I had better stay home and close to the bathroom. Good thing I did as it is still on-going. <<< ugh >>> Feeling cold so am bundled up in a warm housecoat over PJs. Looks like I will stay in them all day.

So sorry that Gary had to handle the snow shoveling by himself. Sounds like you all got hit big time. Glad that C is doing the right thing with getting the BGs and LGs used to each other then will do more handling of the LGs later. I love the LOs with the rats... they are so cute.

Rae, hope you don't get any more snow for awhile so your poor bod can get some rest. Hope you slept well last night.

Trudy, hope you get propane before you run out. It has been a long while since we had to rely on propane and oil deliveries arriving when we need them. Keeping fingers crossed that they arrive on the 20th like they said.

Jean, I am sure that others also missed the meeting due to the weather. You were wise to not attempt it.

Ooops... nature is calling again. CYL

good day - went out for a walk with DH and Luther. We walked on a dike as I figured it is even and it is but portions were still snow covered and I slipped twice but never went down. I am glad I went as I know now that I can slip and I am ok. But darn it was cold even though the temp was in the low 40s. The wind was really strong. As far as snow it was maybe a couple of inches. Just enough to look pretty and not cause any problems. My poor Devils looked like they went on holiday before the holiday started and lost 5-0. But even though the score looked bad they had 41 shots on goal. Their goalie was just that good. My knitting is good as another block done and started the next. It is cool in that by the end there will be a star in the middle of the block. But each row is different so I have to keep marking off which row I just finished. More hockey tonight.

Chris glad that the rats are doing so well together. Have fun scrapping. Poor Gary with the shoveling. Luckily we did not have much I think it took my DH maybe 15 min.

Kay so sorry you are having tummy problems. Feel better.

have a great day all!
