BBBBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for yelling my head off but I am cold. It is 5*F and we are going to be getting snow and ice tomorrow and I don't like it! 2 months and 1 week until Spring. Not that I am counting ;)
My BFF texted yesterday about being cold and I texted back that a FB memory that popped up was a LO I did of us complaining about the cold. She hates this weather just as much as I do.
At least I don't have anywhere to go other than outside with the dogs. BTW-- doing that at 4 am when it is even colder than now- 0/10 Do not recommend. Will never recommend. The tears were streaming down my face from the wind. Good thing I love those dogs Or is it that I would rather not clean up accidents inside? :D

My "big" project of the day yesterday was making a big batch of sweet potato treats for the dogs and rats. W literally stays under my feet when I make them, sucking up any of the crumbs that fall to the floor.
I also started a scrap page and crocheted a few more rows on my hat. I guess that means I was not 100% unproductive.

Today I am working on the grocery order. The website has been crashing on Sunday and last week my order was pushed through before I could finish it on Monday. With last week's order being small and storms coming through tomorrow and Monday I want to make sure I have the majority of the order done today. I have a few more things to do around the house and I guess that is it.

Wishing everyone a wonderful and relaxing day/weekend

@LSlycord How is it going using the pen/tablet, not the mouse?
That is too bad about the one job but great that you have more coming up! Andie must love having you home.

@taxed4ever I have had the same hairstyle for decades, just different degrees of "poof" hahaha. You always look *amazing* in your photos so you are doing something right!
How was lunch, did you do any shopping while you were there, the town looks adorable and artsy.
My goodness, what a cute floofer!!!! He looks so soft. The boys are going to be so excited!! You will have to share lots of pics of him. I wonder what (kooky??) name the boys will come up with for him LOL
Tee-hee- I feel bad ( a little bit) for bugging Vicki R about doing a tutorial but she always does such a great job and this is one I would probably watch over and over.

@bcgal00 That is so good to hear that you and D are settling into a nice routine together.
I am crossing my fingers and toes that B is able to get into the unit this week. I truly hope that she is able to get stabilized, it has to be so hard for her as well as for all of you to watch and not be able to help :( Hugs!!!!
Good with the purging this weekend.

@Kythe I made a chicken dinner the other night but I don't know how good it is for IBS. it is chicken stuffed with cream cheese and cheddar cheese and then rolled in breadcrumbs/parm cheese mixture If you think it wouldn't upset his GI, I will dig it up for you.

@mom2triplets04 Myla must be loving the puppy camp and gives you a breather too. The purple polish must be so pretty. I can't do purple or blues in the winter since that tends to be the color of my feet. Haha! I have Raynauds which makes my feet look shades of grey and purple when they are cold.

@Cherylndesigns I am so happy that you are feeling better. How is the rest of the family, everyone on the mend?
We adopted 3/4 of our dogs when they were ~7 months old. All with varying levels of potty training. Ray was the only one who rarely had accidents. Man, W was still having accidents after 2 years and Harley would have accidents as soon as we walked out the door. W and H were both strays so that might play a role. J was the youngest and she was already 3 months when we adopted her. I don't think she took long to train- and least potty-wise. We still haven't been able to train her to not bark at the mail truck. LOL

I think I can be boring and barking mad at the same time. o_O ;) My poor Roomba tried to go "home" and couldn't get back to the base. There was a dog skeleton in front of it that blocked him from docking so he spent the next 10 minutes all over the house again until Gray picked him up. hahahah!!!

Good morning. First layout done with the Wacom. Can’t say I’m in love with it yet. But I persevered. Setting aside time today to play with it. Going to try to get one more layout done. Not much happened yesterday except for the Wacom.

Don’t think that there is too much on the docket today. It’s a little chilly this morning but the sun is out and shining but it’s supposed to get to 69* this afternoon. I think that we may go to Amelia Island this afternoon. We haven‘t been there before and it would make a good “A is for“ in my book.

Both kids work today. Syd actually got called in early. I told her that she needs to ask for a raise. The place is way understaffed and if that is how they intend to run, they need to increase wages for the people that are working. Shaun‘s branch is the same way. He got called in yesterday because they had another person quit. Time to reward your faithful employees. Stepping off my soapbox and quietly going to the gallery now.

Myla is in puppy camp again. This time she was on the play equipment and we got some photos so I'll be doing some pages soon. When she comes home it's like a new puppy she's so tired. I even was able to do a workout 30 minute walk.

I'm going to Finish watching dexter I'm on the last episode.

@tjscraps That would be *wonderful* if DH gets released!! Is he able to keep down solid food now? I am thinking good thoughts to him. Is MIL going to stick around a while in case you need her some more? I bet your kids are happy to see her too
He has always been able to keep it down, just not 'in' so to speak. The feeding tube is going ok, he can eat as well so that's good for his mental state lol He'll be in a couple more nights I think, his levels for things are spiking now that he's getting actual nutrition so they need it to settle down before he can go home (his potassium spiked, which can cause a heart attack - so I told him to stay put, he doesn't need that too!!!)

My scar from my surgery is pretty sore, and really bruised. I was a bit shocked how big it is, considering how small the spot was before they started digging. I had a bit of a pity party about it yesterday and was in a foul mood ... but it'll heal and hopefully not look too bad.

Hello all,

Trina, @tjscraps your scar will heal, but you certainly deserved to have a pity party. They always take so much more than you think they will, but they want to make sure they get it all. It just happens to be on your face. My husband has had them removed from his face and they're completely gone now. I'm sending you a hug and just don't look at it (easy to say, right?) Take some of the lights out over your sink, keep your bathroom darker. Hey, your eyes are what I looked at first - they're so beautiful!! I had to make my eyes go to your scar!

Chris @faerywings I had to laugh at the thought of your Roomba getting stopped by the dog skeleton. BWAHAHA There are some funny Roomba/pet Tik Toks - That would be a classic - a dog skeleton!! I feel for you that you still have potty issues - I have the patience of a gnat - that would drive me cray cray. I'm feeling pretty good today - the rest of the family is on the mend, thankfully. I just hope we keep going that way. Roger flies back to Florida tomorrow for a week. I told him not to bring anything back with him! We've kept our "bubble" pretty secure here.

Have a good Saturday.

Good morning ladies. I've taken the dogs out a number of times, played ball, read my book, did laundry, did some CT work, had a few cups of coffee and sorted thru some clothes (to give to charity). I watched a few videos on working with dumbbells and they pretty much confirm everything I thought and what physio said. I have to be super careful as I don't want to cause any further damage to the back but I think I'm ready to do a very light modified routine in the morning, followed by a hot shower to loosen everything up and then will see how I feel throughout the next few days.

We got the word that B is going into the TBI unit on Tues..yay...and will be back and forth at the other hospital for 3 days getting scans and further testing. Not sure if I mentioned that yesterday, this last wk has been a bit crazy and I'm feeling a little scattered today.

I'll head to the dog park soon and then home for lunch.

@faerywings That is cold and 4 am is not fun no matter what the temperature but yes, we do it for our dogs :) I had a laugh about the roomba :)

@LSlycord Enjoy the trip to the island this afternoon, if you go. Keep at it with the wacom and hopefully you'll grow to love it as much as most of us do.

@mom2triplets04 Yay for getting some photos and also for Myla getting some good exercise in and coming home tired.

@tjscraps Hope you're not too sore. It sucks having facial scars but I'm sure it'll heal nicely. I had a double lined scar tissue wrinkle over my cheek from an injury years ago that healed about 85% fairly quickly but it took another six months or so for it to get to the point where you really didn't see it anymore unless you look closely. I moisturized and put vitamin E oil over it every night which I think helped. Hope you heal just as well. The main thing is you had the surgery, that is the most important thing.

I'm going to relax for a few minutes and then off we go to the park. Have a great day everyone.

@tjscraps Will say a prayer that. you heal fast. I will be going to the dermatologist next week for a yearly checkup. I have huge spots on my back and chest that need to be looked at again. He called them age spots and I have to stay away from the sun.

@faerywings That sounds much like the recipe I have but it isn't stuffed with cheese. Yes please if you can find it. Don't spend a lot of time trying to locate it.. I can probably figure it out just by what you described. Thanks.

Thank you <3 You are very sweet - it's hard to think that way when everyone does a double take when they see you at the moment. When the stitches are out and it's just a line I'm hoping it will be better. And yes, they took way more than I thought but - it's gone, that's important!

hey there, O-zies! Another @$%$@* cold morning here, no it is 2*F. Snow and ice coming in later today. it looks like we are right on the line where it could be 2-3" of snow and a glaze of ice or 3-6" snow and ice. How about Option #3? Neither. I wish it worked that way LOL

I am plugging along on the to-do list project. Still not getting everything done that I should or want to do. I still need to change my siggie and avatar. I guess in the grand scheme of things that isn't the most critical thing. I did get some more work done on the grocery order. If I can't update it today/tomorrow morning, we won't be SOOL. At least not completely.

I was so happy that I finished the LO for the Border challenge. I am not good at clustering and the colors/kit I used weren't things I would typically gravitate towards. But I was happy with it. I might print it out for my mom as her b-day gift. I also finished the card I made with all of the flower photos, I will print that out too- as soon as I save it as a jpg, I will post it here. (That was another thing I was supposed to do yesterday but ignored. )

Not much planned for today. The sun is out ATM but I am sure I will be watching as the clouds come in and the snow falls, cursing all the while. :D

Have fun today!

@Kythe Here is the recipe Garlic Lemon Stuffed Chicken
I used boneless/skinless thighs since that is what I had. I also only used a tiny bit of cream cheese. I cut the melted butter way down, at least by half.
The recipe also says to bake for 30 minutes, you need a lot more time, at least 45 min.
It is a good "foundation" recipe that I am sure you can adapt to what works best for you.
Here is another: Crispy Parmesan Chicken It calls for heavy cream but I use half and half and it is fine.
If you are looking for healthy/low-fat options-- check back with me in the Spring. In the winter I go into carb/fat/fatten up mode hahaha.

@LSlycord It looked like you had a wonderful day on the island. Was it cold by the water?
Where do your kids work? I know you have said but I can't remember. One of the drawbacks of raising caring and conscientious kids is that they are always so willing to go that extra mile. I hope that they both are able to ask for raises and get recognized for their worth.

@mom2triplets04 I saw another page or two in the Gallery of Myla. She is beautiful.
Are you watching the new season of Dexter or the old ones?

@tjscraps I wow, ITA-- keep DH in the hospital until he is safe to be home! Please don't tempt fate to cause more problems *no no no*
Oh wow, that incision s bigger than I expected too, don't; blame you at all for having a pity party, xo But once the swelling and bruising go down, the incision will look so much better. Once you are able to put anything on it, you can mix up some jojoba oil with some lavender and rosemary essential oils and some Vit E. That can help reduce scarring, If you want the exact recipe I have used, LMK
(I used to make it up for my dad all of the time, between getting fish hooks in his forehead to falling off of a fire truck he needed it by the gallon hahaha!!)

And ITA with Cheryl, your eyes are so captivating and beautiful, no one will notice your chin <3

@Cherylndesigns Thankfully, none of the dogs have had any accidents inside in a long time but W made me crazy! But I bet if I refused to take her outside for a few days, that would change. haha
Will Roger test himself when he comes back home or wait a bit until he sees you guys?

@bcgal00 *sigh of relief* I am so relieved that B has a bed for the TBI unit. So relieved. I hope that they are able to help her short-term and get the process started for the long-term and move to Kamloops.
How is your back feeling after the weights? Sounds like you know exactly what to do and are taking a gentle route. Good luck!

@mom2triplets04 Good luck to you too with the derm appt. I have been dragging my feet, I know that I should get a screening done. I was horrible about using sunscreen for most of my life. I never burned so I never used anything until I had kids and needed to be a good example.
I loved the first 2 seasons of DoW. Did you read the books? They were very good.

Good morning my lOvelies! Yesterday was a gorgeous day. The beach was beautiful and I took enough photos to get an “A is for Amelia Island“ layout.

Today if I were doing a layout, it would be “R is for Rain”. This isn’t a Florida rain. This is a back home fall rain. It is pouring. Since we have a preserve behind the house, I am sitting here looking at the rain and trees and gray sky and it really is every bit as gorgeous as yesterday at the beach.

We had a foot of snow fall in less than 24 hours back home. It is beautiful but boy would that have been a mess! It has been almost 3 years since I saw snow. However, that may change at the end of February. Syd has decided that she would like to go back to see the Senior Choir event at the high school. The seniors get a chance to perform solos at that event and she has lots of old friends who will be performing. Her 18th birthday is March 1 so that would have us back there right before hand so I think we may go up for the weekend.

I‘ll back for personals in a bit.

Now for personals.

@faerywings it was actually quite nice by the water. We walked for about 2 miles and the first mile I had on my sweatshirt but by the mile walking back, I had that thing off. The kids both work at a pet resort, but at different branches. The resort does have both day camp and boarding, as well as vet services and grooming. Syd falls in love with different dog and gets quite attached...after just a day. She has now decided that she must have golden retrievers when she grows up. LOL She might be a little like her mom.

@tjscraps I am so sorry that you guys are going through so much. I'm glad that your husband seems to be on the right track...and glad that they are watching his numbers so closely. And I am so sorry that they had such a hard time getting the margins on your surgery. That is hard to have that kind of incision on your face but honestly, I agree with the others, it is much more noticeable to you than everyone else and it will fade. Just doesn't feel like it at the time you are going through it.

@bcgal00 what good news about the TBI and B. I sure hope that you get some direction out of all of the tests!

@mom2triplets04 so glad that you are getting some relief with Myla! When Andie (who at age 4 does nothing but rest and sleep 90% of the time) was a puppy---really about the first two years---she was awful! I guess most Newfypoos are at that age and they are nicknamed "flying piranhas". I still have a scar on my leg almost 3 years later where she came running and jumped on me on the bed. Sliced about 4 inches on my leg with her crazy claws exerting whatever is exerted when a 75 pound dog is running full force and jumping. Fortunately, at 95 pounds, she doesn't do that anymore. It only hurts now when she steps on my barefoot as she meanders to the door to go outside.

@Cherylndesigns a trip to Florida and you aren't hiding in the suitcase? LOL For sure tell him to not bring back any bugs.

@faerywings Thanks. I will be able to modify it easily as hubby has IBS. We are currently going through the food elimination process to determine what the triggers are.

A good morning to all. I have been out for a short walk. A big event for me. :D:D I did notice that the flowering plum in the neighbours's yard has started to bloom, crocuses are poking their heads up and the magnolia has fat buds. There is hope yet. It is almost time for me to tidy up my little garden space and ready it for spring pot planting. Planting won't happen until April as my space is pretty shady so it is still cool.

Stay well all.

Good morning Oooozies,

We have snow - not a lot, but you can see it. It's only 28 but isn't supposed to stay that cold. I'm ready for it to be over! LOL It was in the 70's all of December, so I guess we can't grouse too much.

Chris @faerywings your LO is lovely. We're our own worst enemies, aren't we? I have made a couple of them lately that I just don't like. Keep plugging along on your to do list. I need to put "making a to do list" on my to do list. Hahaha

I'm sure Roger will test himself (IF he can find a test!) when he gets home. They've been amazing about staying away from us! He came inside the door yesterday afternoon, but didn't stay. He just stopped in to say good-bye. He's only let Adrienne come down in the last couple of days. They're all getting well, finally. If they'd just stay away from people, I'd feel better. He'll be around SO many others in this coming week! I don't even want to think about it. Ever since I had that scare the other night, I'm extra paranoid.

Linda @LSlycord I'd LOVE to go to Florida, but there's NO way I'm getting on a plane right now, The Good Lord Willing. I'm hoping and praying this thing will be under control by April or so (but who knows?) - I'd love to go then and that WAS my plan before this new outbreak. Who knew that this would happen and I wouldn't want to fly back and forth every few months? Roger has to go back for his job.

Well, it's now afternoon. Sending hugs to all.

I've not been feeling good for a couple of days. But I'm better now. Nothing serious, just had a couple of rough nights with the sleeping (hot flashes are sooo fun!) & my brain's not working well when I don't get my beauty sleep. Just been sitting in the sofa & watched British game shows on Youtube and played with a coloring app. Done a bit knitting but even that is hard when the brain is sleepy.

I had plans to try a new recipe yesterday, even had bought the stuff I needed. But I had to send Urban to get take-away. I was soooo off. But at least, dinner's planned for tomorrow! Guess it's not just the sleep, I assume hormones are messing with me as well. Life begins after 50, huh???? LOL

Manage to make a layout now, so I guess I'm on my way back to normal. KNOCK ON WOOD! I have 3 pages of unread posts ... will try and catch up. I hope everyone's fine. Love to you all!!!

Good morning ladies. I was out on the porch taking a few bird pics this morning. I saw two pileated woodpeckers for the first time in months. It makes me a little sad when I'm taking photos of the backyard birds b/c I know we'll be moving away and I probably won't have as good a location in the next home. I really am spoiled here with the river across the street, the wilderness area behind the fence and the mountains close by which bring a lot of wildlife that the city areas don't usually get.

I'm heading out to the dog park in a few minutes. I slept in til 8 which was a good thing b/c I was up for a few hours in the middle of the night with restless legs. I had Chinese noodles for dinner last night and I am sure it was loaded with salt (worth it though b/c it was so good but I need to learn to make my own). I'll be heading to B's later this afternoon for a few hours and we'll walk the dogs, take some selfies and maybe watch a few dog videos.

So, the latter part of the week is going to be super busy, trying to keep on top of my desk job and deal with 3 dogs. I'll try to get some meal planning done and some prep work so dinner will be super easy.

@faerywings I held off on the weight lifting b/c I realized that if I am babysitting Bella for 3 days this week (8-10 hrs/daily) as Jen goes to the TBI unit to accompany B back and forth in the ambulance to the other hospital for testing/scans, I need to be as stable as possible b/c I'll have Bella here which will be a lot more work as Bella needs more supervision and care than I'm used to doing with my dogs. It'll be fun though b/c I love Bella as do the dogs and she is a good girl, it'll just be a different routine than she is used to with Jen so there might be some doodle-tude or should I say auss-hole 'tude from her. It's interesting to watch Bella's behavior b/c we definitely see similarities to Taz (doodle) and Remi (aussie) as she is a mix of both. I think she is going to love hanging out in my office as that was her fave spot when they lived with us for the first few months after Jen got her, before they moved.

I'd better get out of here and carry on with my day. The dogs are restless, they are ready to head out to the park. Have a great day everyone.

@faerywings I was watching the new season of Dexter which I finished. I only got to see the first season of discovery of witches. I did not read the books but did enjoy the first season. The 2nd season I would have to join and pay for which hubby doesn't want to join any more services. I'm now watching And Just Like That on hbo.

I missed most of the weekend with things that needed to be done. Finally got the laundry sorted, washed and folded and next to last load in the dryer. Too tired to finish it tonight so it will wait until tomorrow. Trying to catch up on CT work most of the weekend. Still a bit behind but feeling good to have finished all that I managed. Can only work an hour or so on them, then the brain just sits and looks at what I should be working on and goes... "NOPE!" I get up and do something that doesn't take thought like dusting, etc.

Sorry no personals right at the present. Just too tired. Hopefully things will ease off some next week and I can get back to a more normal routine.
