Happy Friday! I would :bliss: but I am more like :crutch:
Yesterday was quite the day. I took Ray to the vet who says that papilloma was fine and that they ooze sometimes. No need to have it removed unless she was under anesthesia for some other reason. I asked about the lick granuloma that is getting bigger. She took a look at that and said that sometimes they are due to an underlying infection. She Rx'd an antibiotic and something to help with the itching. I needed to get heartworm meds and by the time I walked out of there, I had $250 on the credit card. The cheapest part was the exam itself. I mentally kicked myself for asking her to check the granuloma but then recognized that it is only getting worse and if this helps clear up the issue, it will be worth it for her.
I had also emailed the Foster/Rescue org to see if they had any time frame of when the dogs would be ready for placement. The woman said that there is a bunch coming up today and more tomorrow. Then more from FL. I don't think it will be a matter of "if" we get a dog to foster but "when." I want to make sure that we have everything that we will need, leashes, bowls, bed/blankets. I was going to steam clean my bedroom yesterday then the LR/DR today but decided to switch that around. Gary moved all of the furniture and vacuumed while I did the steam cleaning. We now have an area in the LR that shouldn't have too much of dog scent and will be able to be gated off if we need to do that. I guess we should drag the dog crate down from the attic too.
Needless to say, I hurt all over. I want to get some more house cleaning done today because once the dog gets here, I won't necessarily have the time. I am also going to be away Wed/Thursday even if it rains, so I have less time too. I think I am going to just clean the fridge. Stuff is getting shoved to the back and I will need to make room for when we have the September Birthday Bash on the 23rd. Nothing more strenuous than that. I want to be in tip-top shape for tomorrow. My local feed store is hosting a fundraiser for animals affected by Harvey. $5 entry and they are having demos of Yoga with Goats, a petting zoo, music. It is less than 2 miles from my house and for $5 I will have a nice time and help the animals.
You all remember the Animal Sanctuary Cait and I went to in July? How can you forget, I post LOs of Caitlyn and her BPF (Best Pig Forever) all of the time. The Sanctuary went down to Houston and rescued a young bull that had been half drowned and was literally lying on his side, giving up. He is back in NJ and is making a good recovery. Cait wants all of us to go for one of the weekend visits there to see all of the animals and him too. Hope we can do that soon.
That is it from sunny but cold NJ. Have a fantastic day!
