Daily Ooo's: Friday, September 21

:bliss: It is my baby's birthday! Caitlyn is 20 today! Seriously though, her age has always been a time-warp thing. She was like 17 years old for I dunno- 3 years in a row. She seems like she has been 20 for the last couple of years. But today is the day. And yup, I am behind the 8-ball since I don't have any of her gifts wrapped or card made. Scott forgot to get her a gift too- kind of forgot it was her birthday. I gave him a couple of ideas that he can get on his way home from school today.

I had a crazy-long day yesterday and I have no idea how I am going to get everything done today. But I will do my best since I don't have any choice.

W did really good at the vet, I gave her nibbles of cookies and she got jabbed in the butt without even noticing. :whip:
Cleaning went well. Then came home, cleaned some more here, decorated the house slightly to be spooky for tomorrow. Washed all of the wine glasses. Took W for a walk since I was guilted into it. When I took her to the vet, I put on her halter that she wears on walks and she was very disappointed that we didn't go then. When I took her out to go to the bathroom later in the afternoon, she gave me that *look.*

Today is going to be more of the same. Cleaning and lots of cooking to be ready for the party. You all know the drill by now :fear::bounce:

Nancy- how fun to catch up with your friend about her trip and then to talk to your sister about your trip. How are your knees holding up?

It got really cold and damp yesterday, didn't it?
Great ideas about the lab experiments. She has to take a Research Techniques class in her senior year. It sounds like my Senior Research Seminar but we developed and ran experiments on people. (Mine was whether country music or heavy metal music influenced depressive moods research subjects - this was after all of the "heavy metal suicides" in the 80's, no animals or people were hurt in my research LOL)
The mushrooms he is foraging are orange- one is called "chicken of the forest" and the other are chanterelles.
I think all mushrooms smell like dirt. I am allergic and it is one food that I don't mind avoiding.

Trudy- whew! Great news about the boys feeling better. I hope that Heather doesn't catch it either.
That is really nice that you are painting again. I was looking at a lot of the Halloween/Autumn decorations in the stores thinking that I could make them cheaper. I miss time to be crafty. Or to scrap...

good morning! Happy Birthday to Cait! Hope she has a great day!

The day is grey and cool. But they (weathermen LOL) say no rain. I am going to do some shopping and then home to clean some. Easier to clean when Luther is in doggie day care. Made a great dinner last night pork roast with a seasoned rub with a salad of roasted cauliflower, persian cucumbers, and roasted peppers with a tahini salad dressing. Well there were no leftovers and they wanted more. It really was good too! Today is a chicken dish with sweet corn and zucchini. Yummy!

Chris have a fun day with Cait! That is funny about Scott forgetting. My sons forgot their dad's birthday as once they were over 25 I decided they should remember on their own. They forgot once but they have not since. For some reason they always have been good about remembering mine. As we know Moms are the best! My knees are holding up pretty well so that makes me happy!

Trudy so glad the boys are feeling better. Sure hope Heather stays well. Have fun painting. I have now finished backing up through 2015 yea! And half my photos are deleted. And it feels so good.

Morning all and a Very Happy Birthday to Caitlyn!

I hope that she has a wonderful day! It is very foggy and gloomy outside here today, but I will be spending part of the day with my SIL Linda at the Christmas Store in Chemainus and having lunch with her. We decided to do our annual trip to look for Christmas Tree Ornaments for the grandkids a bit earlier than usual this year. The best Ornaments come into the store at this time and they won't be so picked over hopefully this time. I need to pay a few bills and tidy up the bathrooms this morning and then I will head out to meet her at 11am. Our son is heading back home today after his course in Ottawa, he managed to get in a NHL game while he was there so that was nice, but I think he will be glad to be back home with his family! They are hoping to have Heather and Jonah and the boys come to Toronto for Thanksgiving weekend, that makes my heart glad to know that they will be together!

Chris - I bet you could make a lot of Halloween decorations yourself too!! It is hard to find the time to just do crafts though! I got so busy looking at different things on Pinterest and trying to get another page done from my Paris trip that I totally forgot to even pick up my paintbrushes and do a bit of painting LOL Oh well maybe this afternoon. Glad that W did well at the Vets and too cute that she guilted you into a walk yesterday :becky: Good luck with all your cleaning and prepping for the party, you will get it done, I know you will! Hope that Scott remembers to pick something up for his sister on the way home today! Have fun with all the celebrations!

Felis - How nice to see you here today! What a sweet little picture of the piggy! Cait will love it!

Nancy - Oh your meal last night sounds devine!! The one that you are having for tonight is also mouth watering! You are so lucky to be able to try all these amazing new meals! I suppose I could try them too, but I never think to put all these different flavours together LOL. Too funny that your boys never forget your birthday! Yes Moms are the most important :humble: Glad to hear that your knees are holding up ok and sure hope that continues for your upcoming trip with your sister! Hope you and Luther are having a good day and that you can get a walk in without any rainfall!

Well I suppose I better get showered and dressed before Heather and Hunter facetime otherwise I will be scrambling to get ready to go to Chemainus later on. Have a wonderful Friday everyone, enjoy your day! :wave:
