CHEERY O
goooooOOOOOOOd morning to all of you!

It was kind of an odd day yesterday, cool but humid, cloudy then some sun, busy, then killing time. It was all full of existential contradictions LOL

Scott and I went to the bank to close his acct, but Gary's name was on it, not mine, so we couldn't do that. Did laundry, started to collect the info we need for Gary to apply for medicaid (what a nightmare that is going to be!), paid Scott's tuition. Killed a bit of time on Pinterest. It is hard searching for Halloween rock and roll decorations. If you ever come across something, please send it to me. Derm appt went well. And yummy falafel for dinner. Seriously- they taste better after being frozen, I have no idea why, but this is going to be a thing in our house. I almost think that instead of doubling the recipe, I should quadruple it. It is such a healthy dinner, takes no time to defrost and is really inexpensive.

Today looks to be gorgeous! Caitlyn and I are planning on taking Jaida for the hike so that should be fun. I have some additional housework to do (as always) and I am going to keep plugging along with the app for Gary and for out heating assistance. Thank goodness a lot of the info is already scanned I just have to kill a bazillion more trees to print the stuff out.

I hope that you all have a super day!
:bliss:

Kat- September really snuck up on me too, the summer FWIwasW, flew by.
Since Halloween is one of our favorite times of year, I am 100% behind Stan. hehehe!!
Sending you really good luck vibes with your health. I need to work on that too- it is too easy to slack and so hard to get back on track. I am here whenever you need encouragement :cheer2:
Quiet? My house quiet?? hahahahhahahah ! Actually, with the college schedules, they are home more now than they were in HS or working during the summer. Caitlyn leaves here at 9.30 which is 3 hours later than HS, and gets home at 3pm at the latest, which is only a half hour later than HS. She isn't working ATM, but is waiting to turn 18 in 3 weeks to see if she can get a job at a daycare. I am not sure if this is everywhere, but in NJ you can't work at a daycare, unless you are 18. Scott is only taking 2 classes while he figures out what he wants to do with his life, so he is only out of the house a few hours a day. He is also working, but that will only last until Christmas Tree season.
So in a nutshell, never quiet. nope. ;)

Before you took a break from here, your job was blowing up, has it calmed down a bit? I hope so.

Trudy- ugh and ugh and ugh about not sleeping. I wish that I could give advice to help, but you know that I am with you on not sleeping too. My funny dreams last night were about my blood pressure. After running crazy high for weeks, the past few days os now low- and I could feel it when I would stand up, that dizziness. Last night I kept dreaming that I would pass out and one time I passed out in the shower and I was debating whether I should call for help or just lay there in the tub.
were you and your sister able to visit with your brother at all? It must be so hard to see him decline :(
i wish you would win the lottery too, and could bring Heather back home.So many of my friends are bringing their kids off to college this weekend and I cannot imagine how lonely I would feel without my kids. I bet it never gets easier not having them close :(
Whew! Great news about the oven!!!!

Rae- hope that your day went well and you got al of the work done that you needed to. Enjoy the weekend!

xoxo

Morning ladies... Well I was awake at 3am again!! Its like this alarm goes off in my head and boom I am awake!! Toss and turn a bit and then think WTH I may as well be up and be productive. So I sent out the coupons for the August challenges and updated some behind the scene things and now I am ready to go back to bed. But it will take a long time for me to sleep now because of being on the computer and things racing around in my brain. :hurt: I just want a good night of sleep for a change!

Chris - I sure hope that getting Gary all set up with Medicare won't be the nightmare that you think it will be! But probably not eh?? What will happen when the next president is elected, will it all change again do you think??? OMG that would really suck!! Some dr's are trying to bring more private health care here to Canada, but I think they will really have a fight on their hands!! Let's not go there :tape: You have the craziest dreams my faery friend!! Yes we did get to go see my brother, other than looking a bit thin, he seems to be doing ok, he is a bit lonely but he lives with his youngest son and at least gets to see him. Poor brother has been through a lot in his life! He was a trucker and was on the road a lot. Lost his middle son to a horrific car crash that killed all four passengers. His grandson owes him thousands of dollars and has never paid him a cent, he lost his wife way too early and now he is basically bankrupt. He was just too kind hearted to his grand kids and they all took advantage of him. I would like to kick them all in the you know what!! Oh well enough of my family drama!! Sister Wendy and I had a very nice visit with him, he has a really cute little dog and a cat that keep him company, but the dog has been a bit sick and the vet bill was over $200 something that he really could not afford, but he loves his fur babies!! I hope that you and Cait have a wonderful hike today with Jaida, so nice that the weather is fabulous for you too!

Yesterday after I got back from coffee with my brother, I got three blackberry pies made. One will be going with us to DS's house, it his most fav pie, so he will be happy. Then the neighbour gave me some zuccini, so I will be making a chocolate zucchini cake to take with us also. But I will have to take it to my sister's to bake it as I still don't have an oven to use. :mmph: I have rambled on way too much this morning, so I better get back to bed or I will be dragging my butt all day long. Have a wonderful Friday everyone!!

good morning - well we had a very exhausting day yesterday. My DH's university is in contract negotiations with the professors and sent out a message they were locking out the professors as of midnight last night so we had to go into the University in Brooklyn before the Open. Which was fun for me as I got to meet his secretary and see his labs. It has been so long since I was in a lab and they have not changed much. Anyway he had so much to do we did not get to the Open until nearly 1pm but still saw great matches. We say Andy Murray, Venus Williams in Arthur Ashe Stadium which luckily has a rood as the outside courts play was suspended for a good two hours before they could get out the vacuums to get the courts dry. But it worked out perfectly for us as as soon as the last indoor matches were done the outside courts were back in play and the weather in the evening was spectacular. They just kept playing so we did not leave the Open until 8:30 and home around 10:30. The subways are just amazing. The connections and the people and it just works. On the way to the Open there was an injured person at the next stop of our subway so we had to be rerouted to another line but luckily my DH has his subway app and knew where we were. Luther had a great time at his doggie day care and got in good walks today so he is now asleep. I will be leaving in a while for my haircut and color. Look for the start of the month. And I can't believe it is Sept already. The summer did fly. I just want holidays to be taken in order so that Thanksgiving is not lost in the rush to get to Christmas.

Chris glad the appointment went well. And yes college has much less in class time than high school so it will be plenty of home time. LOL Enjoy the photo walks with Cait.

Trudy sorry you are not sleeping so long. I every once in a while have one of those nights where I just don't sleep and I have given up worrying about it and just assuming my body knows what it needs and I will get up and read or scrap. It is when I wake and let my brain start working that I hate. Then yep I can't not go back to sleep. Glad the visit with your brother was more positive than you had thought. Sad about his grandkids and taking the money. Have fun with your kids coming. I am sure he will love the pie!

Kat I am going to have to do something about my knee too! And yes CIZE is from the beach body collection. We are having a great time. I could stand to lose weight but I have no incentive because I have been at this weight for so long that I believe it is my weight. LOL Good luck with your progress!

Rae have fun at the trailer with the long weekend. Enjoy walking Taz and hope your work today goes fast.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. I am looking forward to getting out of here later this afternoon and hope the traffic isn't too bad but it usually is on a long wkend. We listen to the traffic/border report as we drive so we can decide which crossing is the best to take although the reports aren't always accurate and we sometimes get stuck waiting a long time when they say it's a 5 minute wait. I am looking forward to going into town for a few things tomorrow and then heading over to the casino for a few hours. The rest of the time I'll be walking Taz, scrapping and watching tv with my hubs. Nice and peaceful.

Chris - I'm on pinterest a lot so if I see any Halloween ideas I'll let you know.

Trudy - I was awake in the middle of the night too, a couple of times...ugh. At least you get up and get some things done. I lay there, cursing the world, am too tired to get up and too awake to sleep. So I just lay there until eventually I fall asleep again.

Nancy - glad you enjoyed the games and how great it is to have a subway app, very useful. Taz is also sleeping the morning away (he's usually a morning couch potato).

I'm going to get started on work and hopefully finish up early so we can get out on the road as soon as possible. Have a great day, everyone.

Afternoon ladies!

Is there a full moon on the schedule for today or something ... ? OMG, crazy day. Chris, you asked about my work schedule? My new assistant is AWESOME, but right now we're getting ready for benefits open enrollment, which launches next week, documents updates, compliance reporting ... aaaahhh!! Bill's having cataract surgery next week (and some creepy-sounding add-on where they will put in a new lens in his eye!), so I'm out Thursday and Friday ... and then there's the holiday on Monday. A full week's worth of work in just a few days?! Oh, goodie! Thankfully, I have the ability to telework, so that will help while Bill's recovering from surgery, but still ... :faint: I just want to scrap the weekend away, and maybe sleep - is that too much to ask?! LOL

Rae, I love going to casinos. We have one fairly close by here (about 1.5 hr drive) and I just booked myself into a local hotel for a weekend ... all for just me, sans the boys! It's right near a historic town called Harpers Ferry, so I plan to potter around with my camera and wander through the town, as well as spend some time at the casino. The boys went a couple of weeks ago as a boys-only trip ... well, I told them I need a Mom-only trip, too!!

Nancy, sounds like you got to see some great games at the Open! Do you have tickets for specific days and can just go to whatever you like, or are they specific to a court? I love CIZE, too ... but I'm do darned uncoordinated - it's probably a really good laugh for the boys as they watch on (they're smart enough to say no when I invite them to join in ;) )

Trudy, how many berries did you get?! LOL Wow, all the jams, jellies and pies ... yum!!! I bet you can't wait for the oven to be fixed so you can get back to baking and such. Did they say how long it will take for the part to come in? Probably with all the waiting, the tech. will have everything changed in something ridiculous like five minutes!

Chris, enjoy the hike. If you're weather's like mine today, it's gorgeous outside - sunny and only about 80 degrees. *sigh* Ah, the Fall weather. Sure, summer was nice, but I love this in-between not-too-hot-not-too-cold season ... and sleeping with the windows open!
