Yeah, baby!!!! *dances in chair*
We did it. Gary and I beat Scott and Caitlyn at Pictionary last night!
8640348-283917063_70-s5-v1.png

And I'm gonna gloat about it allllll day.

Scott and Caitlyn let us start the game since the last few times we played, they kicked our butts. We got a few wins in a row and then stalled out. They practically cleared the rest of the board while we were still only 10 spaces in. We thought for sure that we were going to lose but what a comeback! I laughed so much. Before we started, I told everyone that in honor of Scott's moving out, I was going to draw everything with chicken feet. (For those who don't know the backstory, I drew a werewolf once that had what looked to be chicken feet. They still tease me about that years later.) Any time I could, I added chicken feet. I even drew a ghost with them. Everyone ended up doing the same. :rotfl:

Scott has most of his car packed up and ready to go. I am honestly doing OK. For now. I am sure that on Sunday I am going to see his empty room and I won't be OK. Caitlyn is probably going to miss him more than any of us. Tom's best friend is moving to KY tomorrow and I know the 2 of them will be feeling it on Sunday as well.
My mom asked me yesterday what I was packing for our trip and I told her that between Scott and the rats, I didn't have a chance to think about it. I really need to do that today. I also have to clean my office. Everything is piling up. And I keep ignoring it.

Oh well, such is life.
And we won at Pictionary and that is all that matters. :cheer:

Isn't the Braggadocious Faery much more fun than the Complain-y Faery?

love and hugs to you!

@faerywings I love the Braggadocious fairy!!! Winning at Pictionary...that's quite the accomplishment! I'm hoping that, by Monday, you won't have any effects from Hurricane Lee and the timing on the vacation is probably good...won't have so much time to think about Scott not being there.

@LSlycord :angry4: Oh man!!!! The changes in the Dr appts would make me grouchy too. I get that surgeons have emergencies and all that but that is really awful since this isn't the first time the appts got messed up. You probably know this already but just in case-- try to drink a lot of water before bloodwork. It helps plump up the blood volume and the veins. Being dehydrated shrinks everything.
What a mess about the lanai and the ants. Does the rain push the ants inside the house? I hope the pest control people take care of that quickly.
Don't stress about starting the threads unless you want to. [Don't stress at all. Start the threads if you want to. ]
I'll be gone Tues/Wed/Thurs. I'll be here on Friday but I am not sure if I'll have time to post. Badger has her tooth trimming surgery scheduled and as of right now, the vet didn't see any medical reason due to the tumor why she still can't get it done. I might need to drop her off. Cait has the morning off but I'm on call if anything changes.

@vickyday Man of Honor is becoming a big thing these days, same with Best Woman for the groom.
Sorry about being confusing too. I type the way I talk which means I can be hard to follow. The "She" who is officiating the wedding is Caitlyn's childhood best friend, Dani. She moved across the street when the girls were 18 months old. She is 10 days older than Caitlyn and they were *inseparable* until high school. She is like my 2nd daughter. I adore her. ♥
I hope that you are feeling more rested and were able to sleep in a bit. Yikes about the brakes on the car. Glad that Mark can get them fixed before you visit Ilene.

@BrightEyes Sheesh, answering the phone shouldn't; be so difficult! Glad that you figured it out. (BTW- I was unsuccessful in trying to figure out why my Google Maps won't talk to me).
:floorlaugh: at learn how to tap :rotfl:
I try showing my mom how to tap allll of the time. She either hits it too fast/light or too slow/hard. If you have any tips on how to tell her in terms she will understand, I am all ears! :D
Have a wonderful visit with DS#1 and his wife!!
Thank you for loving me in spite of my kookiness :cloud9:

@Cherylndesigns I can't express how my heart feels about Marley but I know you know. Sending more hugs and love to all of you every day.
I am like Adrienne, cooking and cleaning are my go-tos when I am sad or stressed. I can't scrap, I just end up staring at the screen. You've been scrapping up a storm. ♥
I would never leave you alone in our kookiness. Who else would laugh at my stupid jokes? hahaha!
I had my mom and dad walk me down the aisle and my bridesmaids wore black--both of those were so "edgy" way back when. Now it is much nicer that weddings are so personalized. I think it's really cool if Ava has her brothers walk her down.

@taxed4ever I think we flip-flopped weather because it is *freezing* here. I can't get warm, even with my fuzzy socks and sweatshirt.
The hike sounds like a wonderful time with good people. I am still hoping to find a group like that.
Your crafty/cooking day sounds wonderful and delicious. Hope that you were able to return the stamp without an issue, did you get a new one instead?

I am running really late and W is staring at me like she is annoyed. LOL!

Morning, gals. WOW... It is in the 50's this morning! Love the feeling of fall in the air.

Been watching DSon's journey on FB. They should be here some time this afternoon!! :bouncing:dance4 I am just a tiny bit excited. :spinningchair::floorlaugh:goofysmile1 Haven't seen them since early March and that was only for 2 days. It is going to be wonderful to have them here for 2 weeks or more. Which reminds me - I need to charge the camera's battery. Didn't get photos the last time they were here. His wife is great at taking photos so hope she gets plenty while they are here. I will be in and out on-line the rest of the month. Will pop in and check on my challenge a few times a week and to post a new release next week.

@faerywings Hoping the weather is good at the seashore and you and your mom have a great time there. I had to LOL over you trying to teach your mom "how to tap" on her phone. :floorlaugh::greengrin::spinningchair: Glad I am not the only one who has problems with doing that!!!!
BTW - I love your Braggadoious fairy!!! Well deserved for your win at Pictionary!!! And yes, I do remember your posting about your 'chicken feet' drawing. How fun that everyone has picked up on using the feet, too!

Morning everyone! Another lovely sunny morning, its a bit on the chilly side though. The trees along the Lake are starting to change colour, so I guess Autumn has almost arrived here. Sadly the Lake has had a huge algae bloom and it is smelly and green all over the Lake. I will have to see if SIL Linda would like to take the Kayaks to Lake Cowichan one of these lovely fall days. She has been away watching her three grands in Alberta and just got home yesterday. I bet she needs a day or two to catch up on her sleep and rest a bit LOL. I am sure missing all of my family! It is good to talk to them on face time, but not the same because I can't get my snuggles in . I went to my fav craft store yesterday and did return the stamp. The owner said it happens a lot and she never has a problem with returning them. I did not find the stamp that I was looking for, but got a beautiful stencil instead. All the Christmas goodies are starting to come in so I was drooling over the beautiful papers etc. I was good and resisted buying any though. Today will be spent scrapping and perhaps a bit of garden work. My poor backyard has been neglected the past few months, its time to get out there and do a bunch of weeding and trimming! Hopefully the weekend will be sunny and mild, so we can get a bunch of yard work done. It will soon be time to start my Calendars, I should have plenty of photos to work with this year. My coffee cup is empty so I will grab another cup of Joe and come back with personals.

Well my coffee cup is full and the dishwasher is empty, so I am back with personals and will hopefully get this posted before Heather calls.

@faerywings - You will have such a nice time away with your Mom at the shore! Sure hope that Lee behaves and stays away from where you are going! WTG on finally winning at Pictionary!! :woohoo:. Love the Braggadocious Faery!! Too funny that you drew chicken feet on your drawings and yes I also remember when that happened! A whole new chapter about to happen in life, it will be sad to see Scotts empty room, but how wonderful to know that he is with someone who loves him and not too far away from you either. I hope that you find a great group to hike with too, it really does brighten my day when I can get out there and have some fun conversation while getting the exercise and enjoying the beauty of nature.

@LSlycord - Hope your work day is going well and that you will soon be seeing your dr. It really does suck that they screwed things up again!!

@BrightEyes - How exciting for you to be seeing your DS and his wife again soon! Enjoy every last minute with them!! You will have so much to catch up on! :pillowtalk: Hope you get lots of great photos!:camera:!

@vickyday - Hope that the brakes got fixed and that you will enjoy your time with Ilene!!

@Cherylndesigns - sending lot of love and hugs to your whole family and of course gentle tummy rubs for Marley! :grouphugyay:

I am off to make the bed and then unpack a pre-release to work on today. Have a wonderful Friday everyone! Not sure if I will be here tomorrow or not, it depends on how much work my Gary has planned for our Saturday :cowwaving:

Good morning ladies. We got home yesterday in late afternoon. What a long drive (8.5 hours). D and I each drove halfway. Glad to be home. If the sale of the buyers home happens in the next month, then we will be moving into our new home in mid November. We got the house I wanted. It is in a good neighborhood, in the town of Okotoks (15 min out of Calgary South). It has a quaint little downtown area and a newer development at the other end of town (where we will be). They have their own costco and walmart but most of the bigger box stores are in Calgary 15 min away. Their dog park is huge, plus there is another huge dog park on the river with numerous trails, about 15 min away in another small town, Black Diamond. It is perfect for us. The house is just a bit smaller than this one but a better layout. Jen's apartment is very nice and a bit bigger than what she has here.

I'll be busy for the next month (until our cruise mid Oct) getting packing done, organizing moving details and seeing friends before we go. I still need to book some excursions for the trip. I'll maybe scrap a page or two throughout the month as I take a breather from everything but if I don't, that's ok too. Scrapping is the last thing on my mind right now.

Keep your fingers crossed that our buyers sell their duplex so they will have enough down payment for the mortgage here.

@faerywings haven't played pictionary in years. Fun game!

@taxed4ever that sucks about the algae in the lake. We get that here too.

I've got to hop in the shower and then start an inventory furniture list for the movers. That is the first step in this long process.

HAGD everyone.

Thanks for the clarification that Caitlyn's BFF is the officiator and the "she" in your convo ;)
Unfortunately, I stayed up way too late last night and got about 5 1/2 hours sleep before I had to get up to get ready and leave to drive the 2 hours to pick Ilene up from the retreat. She had a great time! I picked her van up yesterday and drove it today. No shimmying! But, coming down from the mountains still tested her brakes, too!

Good afternoon!
I left the house around 7:45 this morning to make the 2-hour trip to pick up Ilene from the retreat. When I got there they were finishing up with last minute comments from the pastor's wife and then handing out little gifts to each of the widows. Then everyone spent the next 30 minutes hugging and giving their well-wishes to one another! Such a sweet group of ladies! Most of them will attend the monthly Widows' meetings that I take Ilene and Carolyn to from October through May. There were people there from Florida, Louisiana and West Virginia, besides those who are from around the state of NC.

Before I took Ilene home we stopped at one of our favorite diners, Randy's, to eat lunch and I got something for Mark, too. He has been working with his sawmill all day cutting wood for some new steps off the back of our deck that he hit earlier in the summer with his truck, LOL!

I left Ilene to do laundry before her daughter picks her up later today for the weekend. And I currently have my own laundry going.....2 weeks worth since I didn't do any last weekend.

I think supper tonight will be frozen dinners! Since Mark is on the new diabetes medicine, Ozempic, his appetite has waned, so he may not want anything to eat after getting a late lunch. He didn't even take a break from the sawmill but wanted me to bring the food out there. The sawmill is located on the back of our yard right before the woods begin.

My rows to the blanket are really picking up speed now that I am under 100 rows left, so I will probably work on that while I am doing laundry and listening to my latest audiobook.

Have a great afternoon and evening and weekend!

Good evening all. I started this before noon, but as usual, something came up and I'm just getting back. Why, that's unusual around here, isn't it???:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

It has cooled off here too. It's only in the 70's but it feels heavenly. Of course, we have the wind which makes it seem cooler. I got outdoors and pulled major weeks yesterday and other than cleaning up my mess (which probably won't get done until tomorrow) my front garden looks SO much better! I was surprised that I wasn't stiff today, my back was really barking when I got through but I'm fine today. No matter how decent of shape I'm in, it always gets me in the back - too much bending over and I pulled anything I knew was a weed up by the roots. There are still a few that I need to get my shovel after. But does it ever look better. I got these awesome high garden gloves and I can even pull the thistles up. They're even made for pruning rosés (which I don't have, but I thought that was a great testament. They come up almost to my elbows, so I can really get down into the weeds.

Adrienne and the girls came over right after I came in and Marley even felt like walking down! She's very low energy compared to what she used to be, but we're still praying for a miracle.

Okay - jump to 6ish pm. Adrienne, Ava and I all decided to go get mani and pedis. We were way over due, and felt so much better after we got done. I got my usual white/white. Haha We went into town afterwards to a couple of our favorite stores. There was a puppy in one of them and Adrienne was fighting the tears the whole time. We went in this one store that is really pricey - most of them aren't, so I don't know how this store makes it. Anyhoo, I found the cutest shorts that had ruffles on the bottom so them so they kind of looked like a skirt. I think it was the seventies that patchwork denim squares were so much in style. That's what they were. I finally found the price tag (I swear those pricey places hide them) and they were $109!!! I about choked!!! Keep in mind, this is not a high-income area that we live in. That is just highway robbery. Even if I DID have that kind of money there's NO way I'd pay that.

Chris @faerywings I'm sure you're on your way and I hope you and your mom have a wonderful time. Hurray for winning Pictionary last night. Ave just got a new game called "first and Last" - it's pretty crazy and you have to do dumg things like touch the wall with your behind. I think it's kind of a drinking game. Anyway, Adrienne got one too so I'm sure we'll be playing it. Nobody is much in a game playing mood right now with Marley's fate hanging over us.

Hugs and love to everybody and I'm going to finish this up and talk tomorrow. No news about Maryley - just going day by day.
XOXO

Good morning ladies. Today I have bills and paperwork to do and then off to the dog park before it gets too hot out. I’ve got an inventory list to put together for the movers. We are going to pay them to pack for us which will be a big help. I will go thru all rooms, cabinets, closets, etc, checking to see what needs to be purged and what needs to come in my vehicle with me i.e. important papers, camera stuff, etc. I remain hopeful but it sure is nerve wracking, waiting for a phone call that they have a buyer for their place. I am going to book our Vatican tour this weekend. I hear the lineup to get in is very busy so i’ll book a skip-the-line tour.

I’m getting more coffee and then getting on with my day. BFN
