CHEERY O
TGIF!!! And darn good thing, cuz I am tie-erd! No sleeping late for me tomorrow however. Caitlyn is showing her bunny and has some quilts entered in a4-H exhibit as part our towns Autumn Lights Festival. My town (this is so corny) celebrates installing our first traffic lights 17 years ago. yes, really and truly. A town in North jersey that didn't have a traffic light until 17 years ago. We are getting our third one installed in another month or so. woo hooo , we are catching up to the rest of the state. LOL

It never ceases to amaze me that I could grow up in a town that where I was literally walking distance to 3 highways, and within 5 driving minutes to 2 more. Now I have to drive a good 15 minutes to even get to a highway. I have turned into a country bumpkin hahahaha!!!!

So anyway- big ALF festival tomorrow. It looks like the weather is going to be perfect. I used to sell Faery-Wings (aromatherapy) products but it would either rain, or be freezing and I would make next to nothing, so I stopped. The last few years, the weather has sunny and warm. Oh well. I am sure that if I got a table next year, it would rain. ;)

Yesterday's cleaning job went well, and my fingers are crossed tonight that the woman will pick me up on a regular basis. She has a two woman team that comes in but she hasn't been happy with them, so I worked my butt off to do an extra good job. She seemed so happy with what I did, so *please please please pick me!* She is a real sweetie too. She was scott's tutor when he was on Home Instruction in 8th grade when he was really sick. If if weren't for her, things might not have turned out so good for him. She was incredibly patient and flexible with him and all he cared about was getting back to school for his friends. he gave us (gary and I) and incredibly hard time but she was so good for him that i am in debt to her forever. Really :)

Better post this- my doggy wants to go outside, I think....

Finish it Friday:
I have bags of outdoor Halloween decorations still sitting in my dining room- i really have to get them out there
:wickedwitch:

Have a great day!

Laurie- The sun is fantastic, isn't it? After I got home from work, i went out and collected morning glory seeds for next year- for 2 hours, I just didn't want to go inside :)
Good luck dancing tonight!

Aww, Eva! Congrats to your and to Sweden!

Clara- tell "our" dad that I said Hi! Have a great visit!

Frani- feel better *sending chicken soup and garlic pills through the monitor*

maureen- you have such a great perspective on life. Those kinds of days can make me crazy- but I love how you felt that it was all good in spite of everything. Love it!

Terry- enjoy your retreat!

*waves back to Trudy*

Sally, you are up next. Must get some :tea: to re-energize myself before I even read your post :pound:

tee -hee- How did we know you would get distracted? Its a sign of genius, BTW. I love seeing what you are working on!
GMTA! I was thinking yesterday that I need to get in touch with the woman who does the Christmas show and grab a table for that- which then means the fun part, coming up with new recipes to make. I am also going to need a clearance area, I made so much nice stuff for summer and hardly any of it sold.:(

Phyllis- so glad you didn't die. Always a good day to not do that. :p
I don't know how the a-Team does it... I don't think I have ever seen a designer put out so much amazing stuff, and I get to work with some truly amazing ones. But Anna is in a league of her own.
It must be interesting to "see" that your scrapping is evolving. Mine spins in circles like the rest of me. LOL

Eva- wow- great poem!

Clara- i read that before too- but always a good re-read!!!

have a fabulous dayy my O-Fam!!

Morning all - finishing up canning applesauce before I go to work- the canned ones are more runny than I would like- but so be it. I will have 14 pints and 4 freezer containers (? 2pints) This will do me for 2 years. Last year I did spaghetti sauce, but this year- I let my tomatoes go- who knew my year would have so much trouble- I have a new motto btw- strength through adversity- might as well embrace it! Will check in tomorrow- have to leave for dance almost as soon as I get home. I have a ton of layouts to post tomorrow too! Have wonderful days everyone!

Chris, i WISH i could be a "country bumpkin." being a suburbanite kills the soul. you don't have the advantages of the city close enough to access on a regular basis, and you don't have the peace of the country. what i get is barking dogs, motorcycles and loud mufflers and idiot neighbors....

Laurie. here's a Dr. Seuss poem to go with your "strength through adversity" motto. i like this poem so much i once made a page out of it. then i made the page into a postage stamp at Zazzle.com:

I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat.
I'm all ready you see.
Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me!
:heh:

my plan for the day is to do yard work in the sun. stock up on some Vitamin D, which i and apparently everyone in the Northeast are woefully short of.

have a good one. Me Dears!

Morning scrappers!

DH just left for another bike ride with his bike-buddy. No matter how much he is out in the sun riding his bike, my dh still has legs that are bone white. I have to laugh when I see him in those stupid looking 'sausage pants' as I call them with these long white sticks coming out below! Oh well, it's good for him and he enjoys it.

Time for me to head off to the local Amish market, a grocery store, then Target to figure out what in the heck they are doing with our prescriptions.
We both have 90 day prescriptions there that renew automatically.However... I still have at least two weeks left on mine, WITH a 90 day supply sitting here at home also, and now they say there is a prescription to pick up. Of course they can't tell you who it's for or what it is over the phone...hey I was a fed and truly know about unexpected consequences of good legislation. sigh. It's ok, I have some things to return there, and if I get moving I'll get to Target while it's still slow.

Later today, guess who is schlepping up to Costco again?!?! :ohwell:

Have a great day!

Happy Friday everyone... and a long weekend for me as our Thanksgiving falls this weekend. Monday off Hooray!! :becky: Planning to meet up with my husband's Uncle and his wife (he has cancer, the same kind that his sister just died from) for dinner on Saturday night. He is feeling really good and is not to the point yet where they want to start any treatment. Then a run to Costco on Sunday. Monday will be relax time and probably a lot of football and hockey. But maybe I can convince MG to go for a long hike instead . Anyway off to work today and home by 2:00 I love part time hours!!

Chris - How great that you got to spend so much time outside in the much needed sunshine!! I am keeping my fingers crossed that you get your cleaning job on a full time basis!! But I know that you will!! You rock!! Too funny about your traffic light story! :pound:

Laurie - That's a lot of applesauce girl!! Have a great time at dance tonight! Looking forward to seeing your layouts!

Phylis - I love your poem!! I also have to put up with idiot neighbours, the ones behind us don't feel the need to be quiet when they argue with each other outside, the whole neighborhood hears them, we all think he is just a jerk!! But we do have the advantage of being very close to shopping and work, just 10 minutes to get to anywhere in our city.

Maureen - too funny about your hubby's white legs LOL! My Dad had chicken legs and didn't matter how much sun he got they never got brown. Sounds like something is :loco: at your drugstore, hope you get it figured out!!

Sally - Thanks for your lovely words, you are truly and inspiration to me and everyone here at the "O" Love ya!!

Clara - Have a great time with your Dad!! Enjoy each and every minute!!

Frani - Feel better soon!!

Eva - Such a wonderful poem!!

To anyone else who ventures in here today... have a great Friday Happy Scrapping!!

Good afternoon ladies! I'm beginning to feel like I have a big huge dark cloud hanging over my head!

So, as most of you know, I was just kind of getting back to normal in my life, my year old laptop crashed. Then, I finally got things rearranged on laptops so that I had my photos and PSE and Lightroom all on the same computer.

We planned a 3 day weekend in Branson...kids were out of school on Monday. We were taking my 11 year old niece and heading out right after school today. It's about a 6 hour drive. Weather was supposed to be perfect. Monday is my 54th birthday...the first one without mom...and so getting out of town for some relaxation seemed like the perfect remedy. The last couple of days, Sydney has been complaining about her neck hurting...and last night she spiked a fever. Urgent Care for us...negative for mono and negative for strep...but on antibiotic and still feeling sick today. No travel...and probably won't even be able to get out around here. Maybe I can at least catch up on some scrapping. (Oh, and lost $160 deposit too.)

Ok...hoping that everyone else is having a good week. I'm going to try to catch up on what is going on around here.

Ouch Linda! Happy Birthday early!! and I do hope your daughter is ok. That unknown can be pretty scary. Wishing you a good weekend with at least a little fun in it!

Ohh Linda... that hurts the pocket book!! Happy Birthday Early !! Was your daughter checked for meningitis, sore neck with bad headache is something to watch out for especially this time of year. Can only be checked with spinal fluid. Not a nice test, but worth it !! Always freaks me out, because of what happened to my daughter!!!

Hi everybody! It's me, Andrea, posting in the dailies! I'm so happy to be back!

Miss Clara and I took our families to a pumpkin patch today. It was gorgeous, perfect weather, and we had fun letting the kids run around and going on a hayride. I was so proud of myself because I remembered to bring everything: my phone, the diaper bag (With diapers in it!), my iPod (Charged), bottles of water, snacks, etc. Then we got there, I took about 8 pictures, and my camera battery died! DRAT!! So Clara took pictures, and I'm sure they'll be great, but still you know how it is.

Anyway, we have a four day weekend, and I'm looking forward to getting some rest, although I have a lot to do. I'm in school working on my degree in Health and Wellness, and I do need to study. Also, I have some scrapping to catch up on. Also, I've been writing a letter to Vince every week (He left a couple of weeks ago for Afghanistan again), and I have been blogging every day.

Anyway, that's what we've got going on!
Now I'm going to go back and do personals. Whee what fun!

Chris- HEYA chica! I'm wearing white ginger and tangerine body spray today, and I smell fabulous! It's been cool seeing you around Facebook, but it's great to be back here. You know what, today on the hayride with Clara, I was holding Walter who is 10 months, and I remembered posting here when I had my miscarriage and I thought, "Why did I stop going to the O?" anyway now I'm back.
Um, happy first traffic light day! (Bwahahaha! Sorry, it's funny!) Re: country bumpkin, one thing I like about living here is that we can drive for 20 minutes and be out in the country. Means there are lots of great farmer's markets etc. Someday, I would like to be the other way around, like you. In the country, but proximate to the city. Someday!

Laurie- Hiya!!
I would love to do some canning. I feel like it would give me a great sense of accomplishment. I did some canning once, like 10+ years ago, and I really enjoyed it. Every year since then I think: I should can. And then I don't.
Strength through adversity, I love it!

Phylis-I grew up in the suburbs, and I know what you mean. We didn't have a lot of parks, or wilderness to go to when we were young, so we hung out in the mall. Gross.
Love that Dr. Seuss quote!

Maureen- I'm going to have to check out your blog. My blog lately has been mostly about food. I'm doing a 30 day challenge where I make my kids unprocessed food every night for dinner. Going to have to put my blog link in my siggy. Anyway, Sausage pants! LOL! That is to funny. Also, I envy your ability to go to both the Amish market and Costco. We can do neither here. :-(

Trudy- I hope you have a great Thanksgiving-my favorite holiday- and I am sorry to hear about your husband's Uncle. Will they be able to treat the cancer? Sounds like they caught it nice and early, so that's good. We have a four day weekend as well. Nice, eh?

Linda- Ugh, sorry about your weekend! :-( I hope Sydney feels better soon. That's no good. Hopefully the antibiotics will do their thing quickly and she'll be on the mend. That's terrible news about your trip, though. I hope your tide turns soon. You know, when it's raining there's usually a rainbow somewhere. Maybe?
