I can't tell if this week went by faster than last week. But sheesh, it is Friday already!
In case you were wondering how long I would keep my distance from the baby rats... not long at all. They are SO CUTE!
Caitlyn left their cage on the DR table so we could keep an eye on them and let them get used to people and dogs around them. I couldn't stay away. Nor could I stop saying how *little* they are. Squirrel looks huge after holding the little ones.
Baby rats are just like kittens and puppies. They get those bursts of activity and they scuffle each other and run around the cage like maniacs. Next thing they are fast asleep. Usually on top of one another.
They are in a tissue box and that is a sunflower seed so you can get perspective.
I've been making sure I gave Squirrel lots of love and attention too. She, surprisingly, is giving it back. She was more of a loner than her sisters but must miss them and the socialization. Every time I open the cage, she comes out and climbs into my sleeve ♥
Today is my Covid/flu shot. I got everything for Gary to make grilled cheese for dinner tonight in case I am not feeling the best. I got stung by another yellow jacket yesterday so my hand already hurts. I was pulling a dead leaf off of my morning glories and he must have been hiding in the tangle of vines. My finger swelled up so much I couldn't bend it- but I had read that baking soda helps neutralize the venom after one of the previous stings so I figured I would give it a try. Between that and icing it, the swelling is mostly down. Now it's just hot and itchy. pfft. As soon as I get home from the pharmacy, I am going to take Advil, drink a ton of water, and hope for the best.
Lots of love to you!
