Happy Halloween, if that's your thing!
::flyingwitch::spider1::grimreaper:
General consensus in the Faery Household: No one is feeling it this year. Last night, Gary said that he had no idea it was today. Scott is working and doesn't get any kids at his house. Cait is 250% overwhelmed with student registration at her work. Me -- I have my field trip with the JW group, who don't celebrate Halloween at all.

At least there is good news -- all of NJ fire restrictions have been lifted. It poured pretty much nonstop yesterday, such a relief! The other side is that everything is going to be soaked. I think the activities are going to be pretty much a bust. I don't know if there is anything I can pull together at this point, either. Blergh....

If you haven't seen the Gallery or the HAPS, check them out. The Color Play kits are phenomenal!

:hug4:

@LSlycord It was just me and you yesterday. :)
Car seats-- ooooh boy, I don't miss those days. Are they harder/more complicated now than they were back when our kids were little?
I am really sorry that you had such a crazy time with your insurance, too. I looked at the Catastrophic plans and I don't know if that makes sense either. I know that if I do that, I'll skip meds/appts/tests etc. I had skipped several years of mammograms because of the expense (before they were covered by ACA). As soon as it was covered, I got one done and that is when they found cancer. i don't want to do that again!
Tonight an old friend (both in age and number of years---have known each other since 3rd grade) is taking me out to celebrate my retirement. Am I really retired? Maybe! Must be! Because I got a book read this week. I really do recommend The Restoration Garden.
I wonder how long it will take you to feel "retired?" I am so excited to read The Restoration Garden, it's next on my list.

To all of you who stop in today-- sending you all much love!

Good morning. I'm glad that I'm here @faerywings to keep you from talking to yourself. :lol23: I don't know why I found that so funny?!! But I did.

We took the dinosaurs out of the front yard because it was so windy. And now, I really don't feel like putting them back up for tonight. I think we will just skip it. And the car seats are 100 x worse...and they were bad then. I got a text in the middle of the night...my great nephew is still sick and so his mom is keeping him home from pre-school today. And that means that my niece isn't going in to work this morning after all. So I just need to pick up my great niece and take her to pre-school. Then the entire day is free. Well, maybe not free. I have lots that needs to get done around here. But at least nowhere that I need to be at a certain time. So plenty of time to pay bills and scrap.

I'm here, too, @faerywings and @LSlycord!!! :grape: I was woken up by what I thought was the doorbell at 7AM...made a dash to the front door...no one was there. Finally realized (an hour later) that it had been my cell phone chiming. My doorbell plays music... The guys who are painting the reflection house numbers on the curbs will be here today so I thought it was them at the door... Nope... I really want/need the reflecting number as the house address number is very hard to see especially at night. Had it at our previous house so glad to get it done at this house.

I hear you about not being in the Halloween spirit... My neighborhood doesn't get many trick-or-treaters so for the last few years I keep the lights off in the front part of the house and stay in the bedroom reading.

I am off to upload more Color Play LOs to the gallery and add the store links to the ones I have already put in the gallery. Then upload all of them in digi-land. Want them all to count for my Oct CT LOs. :D

Happy Halloween, everyone who celebrates. Not to excited this year either. It's hard to get excited when you have to get around in a walker and not even having a party...no decorations out but Jay did buy candy. There are not many kids around so not a big deal. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of my son and his family. They always dress up and go to party. Older Grandchildren don't do much so it's not such a great holiday for us.

Well PT yesterday left me sore and tired but so much better than I was. Still in the walker for another 2 weeks--ugh

Whoot Whoot yesterday we ordered the cabinets for the kitchen. Our contractor was here this morning so we set up some dates and are making arrangements for a few things. Demo will start on Jan 12 but we are hoping to get the tile floor removed before so right after demo we can get the new tile floor installed. Putting up cabinets will only be 2 days. Then up to a month for the quartz countertops, template and install. I picked out a nice big sink and faucet--love it. Home Depot is having a black friday sale starting November 5th so we can order our dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave. We just got new stove in Dec so will keep that. Still need to pick a backsplash tile. Once I am getting around better we can shop again.
@AK_Tracy ---FYI we are going with one color cabinets. It will be a small but dramatic kitchen. We are incorporating one of our antiques that we brought back from Germany 50 years ago.

@faerywings so glad it finally rained on you and fire restrictions removed....life is good now. Did I read before that your daughter and SIL are buying a house??? Hopefully you are drowned out at work with all that rain. I hope you have a good day.

@LSlycord I laughed at your statement-"then the entire day will be free" then read the next part--that's more like it.

Have a great spooky holiday everyone.

Good Morning Ladies!!!!
@LSlycord Glad you were here yesterday Linda. Kept Chris from talking to herself. And yes, I laughed at your comments too cause I can see it happening!!! I know I talk to myself all the time. Only way to make sure I get the answers I want. :floorlaugh: Probably doesn't help that I read the comments yesterday and replied in my mind.

@faerywings Chris I know your field trip will be amazing. You always doubt (stop that!) and then it turns into such a wonderful trip for all who went. Glad you got some rain and the fire danger is lower.

I'm with you all on the feels of today. We dont celebrate much but my grands do come over and they're always adorable. I have to pick up some candy to give them. They're our only trick or treaters and I am totally fine with that. Sometimes living out in the middle of nowhere works best. I think with all the trunk or treats that happen, kids dont need to be wandering neighborhoods anymore. I'm sad that they miss out on that and seeing neighbors but I also like not having to pop up and answer the door every five minutes.

@BoatLady Debby I hope the kitchen is super amazing and just how you want it. I am excited by the one color cabinets. It might be that the ones I've seen are so drastic in color difference that it just doesn't strike me as pretty. I cant wait to see the finished results and before/after photos. Nothing like a spruced up kitchen to make it more enjoyable to spend time in.

@BrightEyes Kay I cant wait to see all your color play LO. Theyre always amazing. You are so good at showing the best of all the kits too. I always want them after seeing your layouts even though I originally thought I didn't need them.

I wish I could say, like Linda, that today would be free but it wont. I think I have ten stops to make today and I still will be passing some of the stuff off on others to take care of for me. The weather is crazy too. Its almost November and were suppose to be mid 40's for the next week? What?? Where's my snow???? Well, dogs demanding breakfast. Nothing like hot dog breath on your knee as they rest their head on your leg staring at you with the "I'm starving" look. Good thing they're cute :giggle4::heartpumppink:
Have a wonderful day!

Don't worry -- I'm alive. October has been insane with travel, breaking down appliances, lots of trail issues, and I don't know what all else. But I popped in today to look at the Color Play, and I'm going to make an effort to do challenges in November. I have even fallen behind in my weekly Project Life pages, and I usually can keep up to within at least a couple weeks. I sat down to do a September week a couple days ago and found I had only taken three pictures the entire week. That makes it a challenge itself!

Whew... managed to get all 14 Color Play LOs loaded (5 LOs per day on Wed-Thurs and 4 LOs today) in the gallery and around digi-land. And loaded into the October Color Play post. Now to take a quick look around the forum to make sure I finished the October challenges that I planned on doing. Seems like October flew by and here it is the last day of the month.

Happy Halloween, if that's your thing!

What does the JW stand for?
Glad the rain helped with the fire restrictions!

So glad your body is allowing you to be a scrapping machine again, Kay!
We are the same.....live on a main highway out in the country and don't get any trick-or-treaters, either.

Hope your hip replacement gets much better before the 2 weeks!
A kitchen renovation would be loved here, but alas, no funds to do such a thing. So I'm stuck with a 1960's kitchen! But it could be worse!

Have a wonderful day!
Asher knows he better stay out of my face until it is time for food! 3:30 is dinner and he starts his moaning and groaning before 3, usually. Sometimes its even earlier! If he comes down the hall looking at me like, "OK, I'm ready!" When I tell him it isn't time yet, he tucks his tail between his legs and saunters back to his bed.

Good Afternoon!
It's about time for me to feed Asher, so I will be quick.
Got back from AL at 1:30 Thursday morning. Mark wanted to drive during the night to avoid traffic. We did, but he had to deal with the rain the whole way home! I don't know which is worse!
Anyway, we slept in until about 8:30 yesterday. I worked on "stuff" and he went to the woods, lol! Imagine that!
Today he has been in the woods all day! It is a beautiful day! The ground is still pretty wet, but the sun is shining and I think it is 60 out. But still a bit chilly with the breeze.
I've been working on Alabama pictures so I can send them to my DIL. Need to go to Dropbox and get that done next.
Got a couple of CP layouts done. Want to get some more of the kits to work on the Woods pics of late and the AL pics. But, that probably won't happen until tomorrow.
OK, have a great weekend!

The curb painting guy came by and took the flyer/information off the front door some time before noon... but no one has started painting the curb on our street yet. Was talking to my next door neighbor a few minutes ago. He didn't get his flyer filled out (didn't see it had to be out for pickup today). So he is going to call the guy to see if he can still get on the list and have his done.

Then I decided to take some photo of the Halloween decorations on some of the neighbor's yards. I still may make a few LOs with them. Need to get supper fixed as it is getting darker (lots of clouds) and the kids will be out soon. I will nuke a dinner and then move to the bedroom before they are doing the rounds.
