Two large mugs of coffee later and I am still tired. Is it going to be one of these days: :cof2: Maybe so.

My headache is still with me which wears me out but I shouldn't be this tired because of that already. Right?
But it is Friday and I will be able to sleep in a tiny bit later tomorrow. I have to be out of the house at 9 am for the Free Rabies Clinic in town but I can just throw on a hat and be out the door. But today... I still have to get through today.

I crossed a lot more items off of my To-Do list yesterday. Darn darn it... more things keep adding on :rollpin:
One good thing I did was to make another batch of dog treats. I got a big bag of carrots at the FP and we don't really eat a lot of them, so I made oatmeal and carrot dog treats. They love them. They love all treats, who am I kidding?

The other "big" thing I did was to order some ID tags for the pups. I wanted to get one for W and man, they are expensive at the pet stores. After we weren't able to contact the owners of that poor baby the other day, it kicked me in the butt to get them. W and J are microchipped but that won't help if no one thinks to scan them. And that takes more time- trip to the shelter or a vet- before they can contact us.
I was able to get one for each dog at Drs Fosters and Smith, and if I spent only a few more $, I got Free Shipping. They had a stainless bowl, so I got that. I was still a couple of $ away, and I found two Kong toys and a LED light for Ray's collar. She wanders too close to the road sometimes and now that it is dark in the morning and at night, it will make me feel better to know that she will be seen. All of that for $21! Score!!!!

It ended up drizzling so I didn't get to rake, but maybe I will do a bit of that today. We are also running to the pumpkin farm to get pumpkins for the kids.
They are also having a small Halloween Party here tonight, so they need to prep for that and I want to tidy up down here so it isn't embarrassing when they walk in. Might as well get some of our Spooky decorations seen too.

Happy Friday to all of you and HAGD!!!!!!

Trudy- haha! Your day sounds like how mine usually go-- in a blur while at the same time leaving your scratching your head cuz it feels like you got nothing done :p
Still not much in the way of color here so I am looking forward to seeing your beautiful photos.
I can't get it through my head that it will be Christmas (ahhhhh!) time soon. Can I put that thought in the box in my head too? So happy that you got to spend time talking with Heather and your sister.
I have this image of myself and Harley after I die- she will be on the Rainbow Bridge and we will reenact that scene running to each other. Will I ever stop missing her? (nope)

Rae- Oh that Taz!! He is a smart little stinker! good idea to put the ball away after dinner. Last night, W dropped her bone at Gary's feet like-- throw it, throw it, throw it, dad!!!! (nope)
:D
Loved the story of Sandy just chilling out at the neighbors. Not a worry in the world as long as she was getting treats :D
That must be so frustrating about the Drs screwing up your workload, but yes, the extra money will be nice.

Nancy- what is Chilhuly? whatever it is, I hope that you had a wonderful time!
I don't have a sister, but I miss my BFF who might as well be my sister. I hate that she works FT now and we can't meet for coffee after work. I am hoping that she has some time when she is off for NJ Teachers Convention. It is too hard to email to catch up on everything but that is better than nothing.

Jean- With you on not knowing where the days go! That is great news about your first draft being done and I hope that DH finds it to be good to go.
I am worried about the dog too. I didn't recognize her and I know a lot of the dogs that walk on our street since J insisted on barking at them.

Felis- what is a name day? Is it like a birthday celebration? That is a great idea to change it around for her so she can enjoy it and I hope that she did.
We are lucky that our town shelter is a good one so she will be in good hands. It is a No Kill shelter and has a cattery that you would love! They don't get rid of any of the cats so even the old ones who won't get adopted can have a safe place to live out their lives.
Hope that your day is going well for you!

Morning everyone! I am up way too early, but got tired of tossing and turning and thinking about all the things I need to do to prepare for Christmas. I know it isn't even November yet but I woke up remembering that I had given my handmade Nativity to Heather last year and I need to make a new one. Oh brother the things you think about when trying to go back to sleep :becky: So I have found the pattern, but I need to order or go out and find all the paint colours that I will need and of course most of them are discontinued, so now I have to find something similar. :gaah: why can't they keep things the same!! So now that I am older I am a bit scared to be cutting out all this wood myself, guess I will get DH to do it for me. Another job for him, perhaps it will keep him out of my hair on the weekend? LOL I got one more calendar page done yesterday and will work on another one today. Still no other fun scrapping for me, but I figured that would happen.

Chris - I am enjoying my coffee right now too and it could be a three or four cup day for me today also. And yes that darn list of things to do is never ending and just keeps growing! Sounds like you are making a pretty good dent in it though. How nice that you got all those items for your fur babies for only $21 !! WTG!! I bet the dog treats are awesome, you should try to sell them at your faerywings craft sale I bet they would be a big hit! Anything in the way of pet supplies always goes quickly! Hope you get your cleaning and raking done and I really hope you have nice weather for it! The Halloween Party sounds fun, hope everyone has a great time!

Rae - It would be nice if your Dr. got his work schedule figured out for you! Hope you are not bogged down with too much work today! Ugh on Taz waking you up so much, yes it is hard enough to get a good nights sleep! I seem to only get one really good night a week, the rest of the time I toss and turn numerous times a night, sometimes lucky enough to fall back to sleep, but sometimes I just may as well get up and stay up  drag my butt the rest of the day!

Nancy - I had to giggle at your memory of saying one day there would be phones where you could see each other! I remember this also, isn't technology wonderful and don't you wonder what we will be capable of doing 10 years from now. I am fortunate to have my sisters fairly close by and we can meet up when it is convenient for us! They both have busy lives, one still works full time and the other is raising her granddaughter, but we try to get together at least once a month. Hope you had a nice time at Chilhuly! Enjoy the world series! You are such a sports fan!

Jean - Hope your DH enjoyed your article and you got a good review :becky: Yes Jean I sometimes wonder if I will ever get a chance to just sit down and scrap a page just for the pleasure of it. It is good to be busy though with things that will bring lots of good memories for the kids!

Felis - So nice to hear that you your day was better yesterday! Funny that your days are more like spring than Autumn, it is very orange and red and lovely here at least until the heavy rains come and turn everything brown, grey and mushy! So is a name day the same as a Birthday? I hope she enjoyed her day!

Well I suppose I will pour myself another cup of coffee :cof1: and get some breakfast going for DH before he heads off to work. I think he likes it when I don't sleep well and he gets to have something other than cereal in the morning! Have a great day everyone!

good morning - well I had a great night at the NY Botanical Gardens with my Amanda and Carol. But OMgosh it is about 20 miles but took over an hour to get there - the traffic at 5pm going into the is crazy. Amanda put in the address but it seemed to be taking us the wrong way so I put it in and got us there. Her directions wanted us to go south but I knew we had to go north to the GWB. Too funny! Then when we got there the parking was full so we had to go around the park and park in Fordham University parking. As it was across the street from the main parking so it was actually pretty convenient. And the glass sculptures were lit and were just glorious. And I managed to walk to see all but one. The best part was the weather was lovely - chilly but we were dressed and they had hot chocolate. Part of the displays were indoors in the rain forrest so that was nice and warm so a fun change. We left a little before 9 and got home before 10. The drive was really easy going home. Even going over the bridge was no problem. Today and tomorrow are home hockey games. So excited as it has been too long. And on Sat afternoon the women professional hockey team is playing at the Rock so we are going to that first and then the Devils at night. So 3 hockey games. I am happy! Then Sunday I will crash. I finished the first season of Riverdale and it was awesome!

Chris the weather looks so good the sun is shining. It is way chilly only 39 here so must be colder up where you are. Drink that coffee. I have my heat on. Chilhully is Dale Chilhully an American who loves to create large glass sculptures. And they are large. I have seen these when he has exhibited them in Phoenix at the Desert Botanical Gardens but only in the day so this was so gorgeous to see at night.

Trudy I have days like that too where I wonder where my day went. But it sounds so lovely to out your windows and see all those colors. The tree around me are turning and it is beautiful. Also sounds like the calendar it getting done so that is awesome!

Rae wow not surprised that the doctors don't remember the schedule. But glad that you will have money for Christmas! My Luther is off to doggie day care and it is Halloween party day. They asked where his costume was and we said he is DEA and undercover.

Jean I agree it is fun to see the series tied - more games that way. Did you see the Yankees did not re-up Joe Girardi as their manager? 10 years with only 1 world series win I guess is not enough for management. Congrats on getting the paper done and hope the meeting went well.

Felis I am like Chris as I am not sure what a name day is but it sure sounds like she had a nice day. I hope it cheered her up!

Good morning, ladies. Had the best of intentions to get started bright and early at my desk work after checking in with my emails. I saw that I had received an email this morning from netgalley (book review site). Yesterday a friend told me about it, you can sign up and request new books before they are released for the purpose of reviewing for them. Some of my friends have not gotten approved for any books yet and others only sporadically. So I didn't think I would hear from them at all or maybe not for wks or mths. So, imagine my surprise when just a few hours later I get my first book. It looks interesting, a YA sci-fi/fantasy book. Got it loaded on my iphone app and will start it this wkend. It will be published on November 18th so if I get my review in soon enough it may end up in their promo stuff.

Got lots of work today (what else is new) but the sun is shining so I'll get out to the dog park later in the day with Taz. I'm heading out in the morning to the bird sanctuary so will be packing my camera bag and setting out my clothes to wear so I can get up, grab a coffee, get dressed and go. I would like to be out of here by 8:15.

So far I'm really enjoying the double monitor setup. The wonky toolbar small font in PS has fixed itself with the new PSCC update yesterday. Whew...that was hard on my eyes.

Chris - do you use peppermint or wintergreen on your forehead/hair line for headaches? Jen and I have both had success with that.

Trudy - your calendar pages are just gorgeous. Be sure to take pics of the nativity set. You're so crafty!

Nancy - sounds like a fun evening. Did you take a lot of photos? Ha ha about Luther's costume....undercover :) Taz didn't have halloween dressup at his daycare. that would have been fun.

Felis and Jean - hope all is well.

I'm getting to work now. I lost an hour this morning getting my kindle/netgalley acct set up and downloading. So already I am behind in my day :) I'd better get going. Have a great day everyone.

Gorgeous here and slightly warmer. DH had good morning for his bird survey with lots of migrant sparrows of a number of species, but not the rare one reported there yesterday that brought out a bunch of birders while he was there. He liked the article (it's short) but we made some minor revisions and now my genealogist friend is hopefully giving it more technical review. It is closely based on the handwritten draft I did in the car driving back from Oklahoma. Will shortly be taking the new red car across town to get a mammogram. Not favorite thing, but I get the car. Also slowly working my way through the last two weekly pages with this week nearly over too. Time is just flying by!

Chris, great deal with all the doggie stuff for that price. Will you ever know if the stray was reunited with its family? At least having a No Kill shelter is good. The Halloween party should be good, but hope you are feeling well enough to have it there - can you sleep through the noise? Hope you have a pretty day and get outside.

Trudy, yikes!! That is getting up too early. But I suppose you're right that it is better than continuing to toss and turn and make yourself crazy with what runs through your head (or at least that's how I feel when that happens.) By all means, get DH to cut the pieces for you. Then you win on two fronts. Why are holidays always so much work? I remember my mother feeling done in by it sometimes.

Nancy, seeing those sculptures at night sounds exciting! But with 3 hockey games on tap the excitement is getting even better. Yes, I saw about Girardi. We have coaching changes here with our pitching coach going to be the manager of the Mets, but we have a previous, successful pitching coach returning, now from Boston.

Rae, how fun with the book review! Your morning trip tomorrow should make up for some the busy, busy work week. Sounds great.

Felis, hope it is another pretty day for you.

Today was lovely day! So sunny and warm. One of these day which makes your soul to sing. I just followed my routine and dreamed for a lazy weekend. I don't think I have something special to share. I still try to considering what was the prompt that life learns me this week and really don't have idea for what to scrap at mine 52 page this week.
Yes the name day is similar to a birthday. Every day of the year is associated with some saints, and all people that have this name celebrated at this day. Still have a party, but no cake and you no invite guests, everybody is welcome (of course is good first to call to inform the host that will comes) and have to brings gifts. We also had (it's not so popular these days) tradition a grandchildren to takes the names of their grandparents, so on a name day in one family can celebrate a few people and they make one big party.

Chriss, your kiddos will be pretty and safe now with the new tags, great that you are got free shipping too, that's my favorite in any deal :) ! Do you dress up them for Halloween? I read that Rae and Nancy will :hat:.
This for the cats shelter really make me happy! I love kittens, but they are so energetic, when I can to choose always prefer adult, it's so more easy to live with them. People really have to adopt more of them! Usually they told me: "I'm afraid that adult will live shorter and I'll suffering from the loss", but actually in my experience homeless kittens too often are born sick, so age isn't a guaranty, just a prejudice.

Trudy, I also think for Christmas often, but it's a happy feeling! Sorry that it's keep you awake, but I can see why, only 10 weeks to the end of the year, WOW, time move so fast! You reminds me that I have one snowman for fixing, thank you! I didn't have any ideas how this to happen, so I left it for later  but I guess now I must seriously to deal with this. Oh and I'm a little bit jealous about your lovely autumn colors on the lake!

Nancy, you sounds like you are had wonderful time with the glass sculptures . Looks like you have great plans for the weekend too, take a fun!

Rae, this for the books is so cool! People already do it for goodreads for fun. What a thrill to can see these books before the others and they even can use your revue, yey! You are lucky!

Jean, nice to hear that you have good weather too! I also have to work on my weekly pages, let see do the weekend will left us time :plane:.

Have a lovely weekend all!
