Happy Friday! It definitely feels like Autumn. Frosty!

I really had a busy day yesterday. Lots of running and a lot of sitting. Plastic chairs in a waiting room hurt.

I ran all of my errands around town, came home, grabbed a quick bite, then headed out the door with Caitlyn. Dr.'s office is about 40 minutes away but it is in a very pretty country area north of me so we see lots of corn fields, cows, and horses. Until we get to the highway interchange but we don't have to go past that. We stopped at the Dollar Store on the way home and we each picked out something spooky for Gary :p
Right after that, I started to cook dinner. I made chicken with paprika and cajun seasoning, coated in panko and homemade mashed potatoes. I had prepped the chicken to go into the oven, grabbed the bag of potatoes to be scrubbed and asked myself, "are you crazy??" You all know that answer to that so I went ahead with scrubbing/peeling/mashing them all up. Gary and Scott were thrilled to have a "real" dinner too.
My new glasses came in the mail yesterday and Caitlyn loves them. They are a purple cat-eye(ish) style. They looked cute on her too. The only issue I have with them is that my old pair had small lenses and I could look out under them to read. These have a larger lens shape and I can't do that anymore. Guess it will take getting used too.

Today I am trying on a dress of Cait's that I might wear tomorrow to the party tomorrow. The weather is going to be terrible. A few people might not be able to make it because of the traveling. I feel so bad for my IL's. :(
I also need to make them a card. they are asking for no gifts, only donations to animal charities that the g-kids picked out but I would like to make a nice card/page for them.
Today is also Caitlyn's long day at school so I am will be taking care of Muffin too-- giving her some baby food and treats and snuggles.

Hope that all of you have a fantastic day!

Trudy- sorry to hear that the rain has come, hopefully, it won't last too long. We have three days of heavy rain coming in. Ew about the sea lion smell. I guess they generate a whole 'lotta poop.

The flower project is gorgeous!! I adore that painted background and it makes me happy to hear that it is by your bedroom so you can enjoy it. Thanks for sympathizing with me about the insurance aggravation. It is a darn good thing that I keep my hair in a bun or ponytail so it isn't easy to pull it out all at once :D
Caitlyn said the same thing to me when I told her that I opened the closet door :D

Rae- we are having the same type of weather but a bit colder- staying in the mid-40's and rainy. At least it is not the s-word.
Awesome that you got the instant pot You will have to share with us what you make in it.
Hill House is *intense* if you like psychological thrillers. Very little jump scares but lots of freaky happenings. One thing we found out recently is that there are hidden ghosts in several scenes. Just lurking so your subconscious picks them up- although there are a few that we see more obviously.

So with Canadian health insurance, do you have to pick out a plan or company to see what is covered or how much any of it costs? For ex, here in NJ through the ACA there are about 5-6 different companies that offer plans and then there are 3 different "levels" of coverage in each company and then from there, there might be 2 or 3 plans in each level. Each level has different premium cost/deductible and copays out of pocket costs. It is ridiculous. And that's just me- Gary and the kids have different plans and coverage. SMDH.

Jean- I hope that the sun comes out a bit today by you. We had pretty sunshine yesterday and going into New York State the trees had much more color to them. Good luck with the Medicare enrollments. It really is insane...
The chicken sounds really good. Ginger sounds like it would work in it, or maybe rosemary and *lots* of fresh garlic? There is almost no such thing in my house as too much garlic. Splash of white wine or balsamic? Love the idea of the walnuts in it. :hungry:

Felis- I hope that you check in soon! Miss you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning ladies... TGIF! DH is home today, he took the day off because this was supposed to be the day that he went to have a lens fitting for his cataract removal. Well those plans changed and his appt was moved, so he had already booked the day off and decided to just leave it that way. We got up at 7am and man was it ever dark outside! I hate that the nights are so much longer now! Yesterday I actually got a page scrapped. It is of the other project that I was working on. A journal cover, now I am not sure just who I should give it to or if I should keep it for myself LOL. Thanks for all the lovely compliments on my other project, it is good to have those done and now I feel like I can move onto more scrapping. I have started with my January calendar page and it is turning out pretty good. I hope to finish it this morning. Off to the pool to do laps today, because yesterday I did not get there. I facetimed with Heather and Hunter for a long time then my sister called and by the time I was done with all that yaking

it was lunch time. Sheesh!!

Chris - Your dinner last night sounds so yummy! I love mashed potatoes, sadly I no longer eat them  I hope that Cait's dress looks great on you, how wonderful that you can wear your daughter's clothing! I have to say that you look more like sisters than Mother and Daughter! I feel badly for your IL's too, I hope that the party turns out good and that lots of people make the trip! I would love to see your new glasses! Sorry that they will take some time to get used to though! I am loving my new glasses, but I am the opposite and need to look out the top of them to see distance properly, but they sure are great for the computer and reading! I see you made another wonderful page for the Photo Editing Challenge! It turned out great! I need to get to the gallery and leave some love!!

Rae - So happy that you got your new Pot! You will have fun experimenting with it! Sad to hear that you will be closing up the trailer soon, it seems you did not get to enjoy it so much this year. Hopefully next summer will bring you more pleasure there! Life sure does throw us some unexpected turns doesn't it!! I know it sure changed our outlook on life when Heather got sick and we don't take anything for granted anymore! I think of you everyday my friend!

Jean - Nice that you are keeping busy with your genealogy work! Hopefully the dark gloomy days turn to more pleasant sunny days soon! Hope you enjoy your football and baseball, too bad it is not at least one of the teams that you like. Thanks for the nice compliment on my art project, it does make me smile when I walk by it!

Nancy - :hello: I hope that you are busy with scrapping or doing something that is fun!

Ok DH is wanting some breakfast, so perhaps a couple of soft boiled eggs this morning? Have a lovely day everyone!

good morning - my Devils lost in OT last night to the Nashville Predators. The Predators are are really good team so for my team to steal a point was great though my Devils were winning in the 3rd period and should have been able to keep the lead. I will take the point though and be happy as the team played so so much better. There was a lot of compete in my team. Had a fun night with my son so that was good too. My doctor's eye appointment went well. My eye sight has worsened some so that means new glasses but I am happy with that as I found a pair I really like and they are so light weight. But as far as glaucoma there is no sign of increase in pressure and the inside of the eyeball looks great. Today is laundry and cooking. Luther is at doggie day care. Also had a nice talk with my sister and the new grand baby is doing great as is the mom though she is tired. And it turns out this is the 11th grand baby. Her oldest is 24 and then down to a new born. Amazing is all I can say.

Chris yes the country is at a point where we have to vote to end this hateful rhetoric which leads to such horrible acts of violence. Your dinner sounds yummy! I am sorry about the weather tomorrow for the party. That really is the pits for your ILs. I know I will be going to a hockey game in the middle of the storm and not looking forward to walking in the rain to the Rock. I hope most make it to the party! The drive north sounds so pretty!

Trudy so glad that you had such a nice hike. It is probably not surprising that those seals smell like fish as that is probably their main source of food. Glad that the swimming is going well. And wow that wall art is amazing! Gorgeous!

Rae happy belated birthday! Sorry you and Trudy are in the rain. I just told my sister how upset I was that the hurricane that came their way from Mexico is now coming up as a nor'easter. Hope the weather cooperates as you close up the trailer.

Jean you have been busy. So cool that you found a bug and that corrected so fast! I have not been watching the baseball as I really have no feelings except negative for the Sox so to see them win is not exciting at all.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Need to stay focused today and get all my work done and get things prepped to head out to the trailer this afternoon. Other than a quick walk with Taz, its going to be a super busy day. It'll be a lot of work but we decided to closely the trailer down tomorrow rather than Sunday so we can get up to the hospital on Sunday morning. So it means a shorter time period to get everything done at the trailer but I'm ok with that. We'll be home sometime tomorrow night.

Last night I watched the two hour finale for 12 Monkeys (sci-fi show, one of my faves). It was bittersweet, having a proper finale for it but also the end of the show. I'll miss it.

Chris - we don't get a choice on a health care insurance plan, it is whatever D's company decides. It sucks that every 4 yrs or so they change providers which seem to cost us more money with less benefits. Our dental plan sucks now too, it costs a lot more out of our pocket. Hope almost everyone makes it to the party. Have fun.

Trudy - I got a page scrapped yesterday too. I didn't really have time for it but decided to make time, I needed a little scrap therapy. I'm glad I did, it felt good to play. I find that lately I've been more tired in the evening so even if I have time to scrap, I don't have the energy. Not sure if that is an age or stress (or both) related thing.

Nancy - glad you found new glasses you like. I love mine. Titanium frames are so lightweight.

I hope everyone is well and I'm getting out of here to get started on work. Have a great day everyone. Will check in later if we have internet at the trailer tonight (never know if its working until we get there) and then tomorrow morning it gets shut off for the winter.

DH did his bird survey this morning still with lots of sparrows but not as many other species. I've spent time on the phone with my friend who talks a long time, but it is sort of her therapy time. I don't feel very talkative after though.

Chris, fingers crossed the weather isn't too bad for the party and that you get to wear a fun dress of Cait's. Gentle hugs to Muffin while you rat sit. Makes me feel goofy to type that!

Trudy, nice for DH to have that extra day off. Sounds like you're getting a lot of creative things done, so good for you! The calendar pages you've shown us in the past always look beautiful. Hope it was a good swim today.

Nancy, ugh, walking to the Rock in a storm, hope it isn't really that bad and that the Devils get back to winning! Know what you mean about the Red Sox, but I'm going to watch baseball while I still can.

Rae, you are an inspiration with all you accomplish and how busy it keeps you. How nice you got some scrapping in too!

Felis, what Chris said!!!
