CHEERY O
Wooooooooootttttttttt...........

I am so so SO happy it is Friday. I am 100% exhausted. I came home from work yesterday and ended up falling asleep on the couch. No one could fine me, I was wrapped up in a cream chenille blanket and had my cream chenille "anti-terrorist terrorist" hat on. I *think* that maybe my nose was peeking out, but I was facing the back of the couch. I could faintly hear Gary calling for me at one point... and I was just too tired to answer.

Today I am off shopping at Kohl's with my mom. I have some awesome coupons and a bit of cash left over from my IL's to get the kids stuff for back to school. It got so cold here so quickly that I realized Caitlyn has no long sleeve shirts or warm PJ's that fit her. Scott lives in t-shirts and jeans only but I think he is going to need long gym pants, instead of shorts.

I need some warm and cozy clothes too, but I have to focus on them first. I don't get embarrassed wearing the same cruddy sweatshirt to shop rite like they would LOL

What good plans do you all have for today and this weekend?

Personals-

Linda W- a date!! Wow!! That is awesome, been a long time since Gary and I went on a date (nope, dr's appt's don't count, even though we did go to our Lyme dr on our anniversary this year :lol )
What movie are you going to see? Where are you going to eat? I need details, so I can live vicariously through you.
Thanks for the pep talk. Its just been so tough- as I know you know. I was trying to explain to Gary. he doesn't remember most of what we all went through when he was like this. I am having a hard time separating what happened with him and what is happening with Scott. Emotionally it is all knotted up inside.
Yes, therpay prob would be a big help. I had a great therapist when I was goign through this w/ Gary. When I couldn't get insurance coverage or didn't have the money to pay her, she let me pay her in Faery-Wings products. How cool was that?
Of course, she is not in my plan, when *when* Gary gets his SSI approval next month (when not if) and we get approved for Medicare, I am going to see if I can get back in with her.

Lori- oh no :( How is DH feeling?? Sending lots of hugs to you and the kids, and to Mr Potts too.
Hope that he can get home soon.

Merkee!! Yay!! Good to see you here- sorry about not having any donuts- glad you brought some along. I have brownies (calorie free of course!) for everyone today.
Oh yea, the O is my therapy! I feel like I shoudl be paying you all for listening to me ramble everyday.

Ack! need to go- hair is sopping wet and I got to get S to the bus! Be back!

Good morning ladies! I don't know about you but I sure feel good to know that it's Friday! This week really ate my lunch!

Chris, glad to hear that you got in a good nap yesterday! I think that naps solve lots of problems. Or, if not solve them, at least put them on hold!

Wednesday night, the kids were just fussing and fighting and at 7:45 I said "Enough! Everyone's going to bed now!" By 8 o'clock, we were all in bed and asleep...including me! I woke up yesterday morning at 3:15, but it was great! I had a good night of sleep so I was well rested. And I was able to log on to work and get lots of work done there.

Brian volunteered to help with math yesterday at Shaun's class. Hoping that we may help with some behaviors if Shaun knows that Dad and Mom are connected to school! We'll see. I think that I've got some challenges ahead there.

Linda W...I agree with Chris. You need to give us the details! Date night for us...we went to dinner in May for our anniversary. Think that was the last one! That's ok...we had years when it was just the two of us so we've had plenty of dates. And, I'm sure that before I know it, I'll have two teenagers who are anxious for Mom and Dad to leave the house.

Ok...need to go get ready for work! I'll stop back in later!

Happy Friday everyone!

I popped in last night and typed out a long post....and our power flickered eeeeek. We had a heck of a thunderstorm last night. The internet wouldn't connect for a while and it was bedtime soooo....I'm here today instead LOL.

I see Merkee popped in to visit with us yesterday!!! Merkee, here's some hot cocoa with whipped cream to go with Chris's brownies :).

Chris-hope you have a good time today and get some relaxation in, sounds like you were wiped out from yesteday! I'm sure part of that is stress. Hang in there my friend!

LindaW-have fun on your date night with DH! You sure deserve it!!!

Lori-hope your DH is doing better, hope the doctors figure out what made him ill.

Sandra-Hi!! Good to see you :).

LindaS-Hi there! Sounds like Wed was a good night for an early bedtime :). Glad you got some rest!

To everyone who pops in have a fab day and I loooove you all!!!

off to the zoo today!! It's a gorgeous day!! You might pray for my patience!! It doesn't seem to be where it should be!!! Must have left it somewhere on Thursday!! LOL!!!

Thought I'd peek back in today and say hello again. Thanks Chris and Dawn for the hot cocoa with whipped cream (extra of course) and calorie free brownies. :) You have redeemed yourselves and the daily O's.

Just had a thought, since you all seem to be gabbing more than just the mornings, do you ever share virtual lunches or dinners or cocktails? :) Might be fun.

LindaS, how old is your son? Does he by chance have any vision issues? My son went thru much of the same behaviors and it turned out he couldn't see the chalkboard and was always busy and getting into trouble, didn't pay attention etc. etc.. The school hadn't a clue, but hubby figured it out and once we got our son glasses he was MUCH better in school.

LindaW, I want to hear all the details too. You can enjoy for the rest of us. Hubby just got laid off one day a week and we have lost our medical benefits. So it will be a while until we go out anywhere.

For those of you that pray, please pray that he has a job thru the first of the year or longer. His employer is sinking fast. :( Hubby is going to school and will have some needed certifications by the end of November which will make him much much more marketable in this horrible job market.

Sally, have fun at the zoo maybe the chimpanzees took your patience.

Andrea, love your new avi and hairdo! LOL on the shopping.

Okay, that's it for now, I'm off to do a little gallery lovin and game playing.

Hi girls...........

I hope everyone is having a fabulous Friday!!!

My little Ayden has been sleeping all day!! Wakes up...feed him...back to sleep!!

Thanks for the all the drooling over my date day with my DH....Trust me...they are once in a blue moon here...this is why I am excited....Last one was our Anniversary in June....We never do anything glamourous either....I don't know what movie yet....haven't decided....and we probably will eat at Abuellos....Mexican....mainly because of the Sangria Margaritas!!! WOOT!!! if not...our fave is Italian...so we will eat at Carrabbas or Olive Garden.

Lori....I hope your DH is getting better...so sorry he is having such a rough time with this hernia ((((HUGS)))) hope you have good help with your babies!!

Chris...you sound like me....I am to the point that if I wear my ratty clothes out, it's just fine....I haven't shopped for me at all this year....no new summer clothes...and not one thing for winter yet either!! Hope the shopping went well...and you found GREAT deals!! That's too funny...you wrapped up on the couch..and no one knowing you were there!! I hope you do get to go back to your counelor...sounds like you really liked her...and that is an important part of it!!!

LindaS...Wow....I haven't seen a bed at 8:00 in years!!! It does feel good to get a great night sleep and then be up early to get a lot done!!! I hope your issure with Shaun work out...but again....they are probably just normal growing pains!!...I don't know much about your situation, since i wasn't here before...but as good of a MOM as you are...I know you will work it all out!!

Dawn...Man...stinks about the Thunderstorm and the power!! I hate when I lose my post!!!

Sally...OOOOOH the zoo!! I LOVE THE ZOO!! HAVE FUN!! and I will pray for the safe return of your patience!!

Merkee!!!!!!!! Glad to see you here....and with donuts and coffe no less...shame on us for not being prepared!!!!!!!!! I hope DH's layoff doesn't last long....and that stinks about the insurance....(((HUGS)))
so you are looking for a virtual lunch.........well.........here ya go....Homemade chili and crackers!!!

OKAY...I am off to check the other threads...........

(((HUGS))) all around!!!!!!:p

Yay for Friday. I am very anxious today...oooh...I haven't taken my meds, maybe that would help. I'm glad I wrote that or I might not have thought of it. I'm a dork. LOL!! Tonight we are going to a friends house for dinner. That should be fun. We always have fun with them but don't get together very often...not sure why. They are coming to Oktoberfest with us next weekend though. That will be a blast. We have this Bavarian town east of here 2-3 hours and they do Oktoberfest every year. As much as I love Oktoberfest I have to say it does annoy me that it is in October...I know most of you are wondering why this would bug me with it being Oktoberfest and all. In Germany they are celebrating the coming of October with most of the celebration taking place in September and the last weekend being the first weekend of October. So, most American Oktoberfest celebrations take place during the first few weeks of October because Americans don't generally get it. So we are going this year the second weekend of October and I am good with it. There will be good beer, shopping, brats, sauerkraut, and no kids. You can't beat that. I'm very excited. We go every year. Ethan isn't going this year but his first Oktoberfest was in Munich when he was about 3 weeks old and he stole his first beer glass. I think he could have fit into the beer glass.

So, this weekend should be fu. We are having some people over. My neighbors don't get out much because they really can't afford to go out and stuff so they are going out to our house and we are making dinner, drinking and playing games. It should be awesome. All the kids will stay next store and we'll have a blast. It will be great. I'm excited. We are each other's house all the time but we don't usually have nights where we all get to cut loose and relax for a bit. I mean we do...but they don't. So, this will be nice. We've got our meal all planned and it is going to be awesome. Not sure what we are drinking yet though. Still thinking on that one. :)

Well, I am going to do my personals in a separate post. Ih ope all of you have either restful or fun weekends planned. I will be needing to find some time to scrap. I was just invited to Merkee's team and want to make a good impression of course. ;)

Oh Clara...Oktoberfest sounds fun...and yummy!! I love to hear about places that have these celebrations....when I hear Oktoberfest, I always think of Busch Gardens in Williamsburg...one of the sections in the park is called Oktoberfest, and they have all the food, dancing and fun activities that revolve around that celebration!! Sounds like a great weekend planned...HAVE FUN!!!:p

Chris - what are your kids thinking growing?? That's not allowed. :) I hope you find some good deals. I am a huge bargain shopper too. I always buy Ethan's clothes for pretty cheap at Old Navy and sometimes can get GCs from mypoints. That is funny that no one could find you on your couch. I'm glad you got some rest though. I'm still praying for when Gary gets his SSI. Did you ever say if it is possible for you to apply for it also?? I hope you guys will be able to get things back on track with all the back pay and the new monthly money.

LindaS - That is awesome that your dh is able to help out at your kids school. Even better that it accomplishes more than just letting your kid know that he has involved parents. I'm glad your kids were fighting and everyone got to catch up on sleep. Sometimes we need something to get our attention to say "Go to bed and get some rest!!" I'm glad you got the message and got rested and then caught up.

Dawn - How are the days off these days? Any word on that job? That would be cool if that worked out real quick with no stress for you. I HATE interviewing. That is my number 1 reason for never looking for other jobs. I hope you are catching up on some rest and getting a little break. So, how is it going to be when you need to go to the doctor for something? Will it be weird to go back there? I'll bet you get sick less without the stress of the old boss lady.

Sally - as patient as you must be...you get a break once in awhile and your children can feel the wrath of mom on occasion. LOL!! I hope you all had a blast at the zoo. I wish I could have gone on a field trip today. I wonder what kind of field trip I could go on for my job. If you guys lived around here I would give you guys a tour of the hospital and my hubby could give you a tour of the military base and 2 other hospitals. Actually, the military hospital is pretty interesting. they have some cool robot systems that boys think are cool, that deliver food and linens to the different floors and stuff. But you live there and I live here. Too bad.

Merkee - Virtual Cocktails sound awesome...or a cocktail chat...

ooooooooh...next year for the birthday party (cheery-o's) you should have a cocktail chat and everyone can scrap their favorite drink recipe as they sip it and chat. That would be awesome!! Or even just anytime, or weekly.

back to Merkee...thanks for the hot cocoa. I love hot cocoa especially with lots of whip. Yummy!!

LindaW - Sleepy baby day, huh?? I hope that means he's growing and not a sleepless night for mom. I hope you have a blast for date night. I haven't had a real date night in a long time but probably will soon since I have a GC to a nice restaurant. You should go to restaurant.com. If you spend $10 you can get a $25 GC if you spend at least $35. It saves you a little bit of money. A couple of drinks extra or a dessert or something. Check it out.

Well, I am off. I hope you all have a fabulous day and weekend. I'm off to be grateful.

Of course, rofl.

okay...my randomness for you.

I am listening to a local radio station and this commercial keeps coming on with some lady that says real-tore for realtor. I don't know why but it is making me crazy. Of course that seems to be the commercial of the day and they have played it no less than 500 times today. Blah!! But, it is Friday so it is all good. Okay, randomness over.

Thanks for the tip!! I will check it out!!

Oh and BTW....I AM SO HAPPY YOU ARE ON MERKEE"S TEAM NOW!! WE LOVE MERKEE!! SHE IS AWESOME!!!

Hope everyone's weekend is going ok so far....here are some random thoughts from me.
Random partly because about 10 min ago I had a quarter-sized spider on the desk by my mouse ::::shudders:::: and I feel like it is crawling all over me! I can barely type for shaking . It's history of course but still (sorry, Chris, I'm not that much of a treehugger )....I hate spiders!

Soooo, y'all remember how a while back I said something about going back to school for counseling/psychology? That was before I lost my job...well, today I received info from unemployment and training about grants and aid for displaced workers. I took some tests online regarding what types of work would suit my skills/interests and counseling/psych was one, along with adult education, elementary ed(don't think so ), social work...nothing in the way of medical assisting. Weird, huh? I haven't heard back re: the interview yet but it had to go through human resources at the hospital and I figure if I don't get it then it wasn't meant to be. However, I'm starting to think school is. I'm planning to go talk to some people next wk and see what all of my options are. I've always had good grades so we shall see. I'm just not sure about starting a new career at this age, you know *old* age of 42 haha.

I do hope whatever I decide I can do something where I can kind of work on my own, I do much better at that than with someone like my former boss. I'm a self-starter and work well unsupervised.

ugh i have spiders all over me feels like eeeeeeeeeeek! y'all should've seen me jumping and screeching...poor Davy didn't know what to think.
