Welcooooome to spooooky-season! I guess that Oct 1 is the "official" start to spooky season although my family has jumped the gun by a week. LOL Shhh- Braxton does NOT count as part of Halloween. He is the family friend and is welcome year 'round.
Gary has been so busy getting the skeletons moving and burned out the first motor on the ladder skeleton already. ROTFLMAO For the newer people reading this, this is an annual thing. Gary builds the skeleton scenes from pieces and parts of junk. He spends all year "saving" stuff (aka storing all sorts of things that should be in the garbage in the basement) and then using them to make the props move. Every year, he builds motors that burn out. And then he needs to find one piece from basement/eBay/thrift store/etc to rebuild it. Until it burns out again a few days later. This goes on all month, until a few days before Halloween when he says he is giving up, that the yard looks like s***, no display this year. That lasts a day or two and then he gets everything working and looks great for the 5 trick or treaters we get.
It really feels like Autumn here and I saw this on FB and had to share it.
Isn't that very "me?" haha!!
So let's see, yesterday I got a bunch of things done to wrap up my to-do list and I even got it done earlier than I expected so I spent an hour or so outside collecting morning glory seeds and cutting down all of the dead vines. I also got a few marigold seeds too but most of them aren't ready yet. I made yummy chicken dinner and roasted potatoes. I will have leftovers to eat all weekend from all of the cooking I did this week- Three nights in a row of actual full meals.
I am meeting Arlene for a hike this morning, I hope I don't get too cold. Although.... *points to T-shirt^^*
We are going to the arboretum and I haven't been there in the fall before so it will be neat to see how the flowers/trees have changed since I was there a couple of months ago.
Not much else. Sending lots of love to you all!
