*clunk* <~ that was my head hitting my desk in exhaustion
Still didn't sleep well, up before dawn, and have a terrible headache
TGIF???????

I joked with Gary yesterday that he should try to convince me to take a nap even though we both knew he would be unsuccessful. I wish that I could nap but they always make me feel worse. The good news is that I slept until 2 am (the night before was only to 1) and that it only took me less than an hour to get back to sleep. Again, that was half the time than the night before. And I slept until 4.30 am which is also later. So there is an improvement! *thinks about happy dancing. Decides that is way more energetic than I actually feel*

I have no idea what I did yesterday, I mean I know I did *stuff*-- What stuff? Not a clue. hehe!!
I did end up ripping out half of the glove where I had an extra shell crocheted. I have about 2 more rows to do and then weaving in ends and I will be done. They really came out nice- but guess what Caitlyn bought for herself? She showed me her brand new black fingerless gloves. uh-huh. And was very happy that she only paid $3 for them. Uh-huh.......
:D

I better get my act together soon. My mom is coming up in a bit. We are going to start "Christmas Shopping." Basically, we are running to TJ MAXX and to begin thinking about gifts. I am going to need a working brain to both follow my mom's trains and trains of thought ( She is where I get this "gift" to meander) and to acknowledge Christmas without losing my s***. My MIL emailed me about Thanksgiving Plans and I have no idea! Last year was honestly very nice with it just being the 4 of us... I am an awful person, aren't I?

At any rate, I need to get in the shower and cake some makeup on my face. need to hide the ginormous bags under my eyes. I never thought I would be one to wish for plastic surgery but if I could get my eyes done, I would probably go for that.
((Would I?? Probably not, in actuality. But I like to think that I would LOL)

Kay- I am so sorry to hear about your friend, sending hugs

@taxed4ever Glad that most of the rain held off on the hike. The wine/hot tub sounds like it was the best part of the day (to me LOL).

@bcgal00 Doesn't an insulin pump with caffeine sound like a great idea?
I don't know how anyone is going to afford anything this holiday season pffffftttt. Hopefully, the prices won't be as bad as they are predicting

@tanteva Great news that you and Urban are finally feeling better
Sorry, I used up all of my month's supply of mojo last week, not sure if I will find any - mine or yours *G*

@Cherylndesigns How was the pedi?

@tjscraps Amazon is so weird. Glad that you got the refund quickly!

I've posted 2 layouts this morning! One I did before I got sick & one I did this morning. When I was doing that I found an element pack I had downloaded for CT work before I got sick - totally forgot about it. Really need to make another layout with that - way overdue on that one. *goes and sits in the corner*

No plans for the weekend. Still not 100% ok, so I guess we'll just relax. Continue with Sopranos & knitting.

Talking of Sopranos. Today I'm gonna try and figure out how to make "ziti". They eat it ALL THE TIME in Sopranos, and we said we had to try it. Been googling, and it seems there are about 2.897.463.883 different recipes. LOL I'll wing it a bit. Have to veganize it anyway, so I'll just make a pasta bake and call it ziti ... LOL

Morning everyone, guess what??? Yup its raining AGAIN!!! November is our wettest month, but sheesh this is ridiculous! We will be getting some flooding soon in the lower areas. I feel the same as Chris and not sure just what I got done yesterday?? I know I did some painting on my art project, but that's all I feel like I got accomplished. I am now on my final piece, so hopefully will get that done in the next day or so. I need to drop them off on the 13th of November so they can get them displayed in the gallery. I am a bit nervous about this, not sure why? It's not like I am expecting them to sell or anything, just nice to have been asked to participate in this Teeny Tiny Artshow and Sale.

I am going to start my day with opening my photoshop and getting a layout done though. I am bound and determined to do this!! Should be getting a facetime from Heather and boys in a bit as they are home from school today. Heather told me the other day that they have had their first snowfall. Ugh!! However rain for them today, so it should all be gone soon. Good thing the boys got their new winter boots the other day. Not much else new around here, boring, boring I know.

@faerywings - Hope you can get through your day with your Christmas shopping/Planning with your Mom! You are right I don't know how anyone can afford Christmas this year, its going to be brutal!! Hope your headache goes away after a couple of cups of coffee! Oh darn it that Caitlyn bought herself some gloves o_O. However I bet she will love the ones that you made her so much more!!

@tanteva - Happy to hear that you and Urban are feeling better! Hopefully after the weekend you will both be 100% again! Ha, Ha about the ziti and how many recipes there are out there!! I have no idea what that even is so will have to google that for sure! Oh ok I see it looks like lots of cheese, so I would love it, however the pasta noodles are a no no for me. Darn!!

@bcgal00 - Rae I bet the dogs had a blast in all that wetness!! I always have to have a jacket with a hood, I hate to carry an umbrella with me and hate getting my hair wet! It turns into a frizzy mess when it does LOL. I can totally understand you not wanting to work so much anymore, but ya having the pay cheque is sure nice !! ;)

@Cherylndesigns - Jealous of you getting the pedi! I sure could use one too, but no sense in having pretty painted toes when I shove them into hiking boots every week LOL.

@tjscraps - Glad to hear that you got your refund from Amazon! Hope your day isn't quite so busy today! TGIF!!

Ok I am off to do a page finally! Wish me luck that it doesn't take me all day long to do it! Have a great Friday everyone!

Morning, gals. @faerywings - I had a restless night, too. I had snuggled into bed early - 7:30 PM - as I was cold. Was reading then fell asleep around 8 and woke up at 11 and turned out the light - but couldn't go back to sleep. So got up and played around on the computer until 1 AM. Was able to fall asleep when I crawled back into bed and slept in until 7:30. Sure hope that won't be the pattern especially with the time change coming this weekend.

Yesterday there was a glitz on the Rx refill - the phone-in refill system had problems so my refill wasn't ready. Took an extra hour to get it done. Turns out the pharmacy was closing at 2PM so I chose to wait there until it was ready. The commissary wasn't busy but they were moving things around AGAIN!! Yikes... prices were up on most things but were missing some of the staples I usually buy. But I did find a great sale... they had frozen turkeys for 49 cents a lb! I was going to get a turkey breast but it was much cheaper to get a whole turkey. I bought a 15 lb one. Will cook it later this month and then freeze up single meal serving sizes along with dressing and gravy servings. Will freeze the carcass and make turkey and dumplings from it later on. Was really disappointed that they are no longer carrying the margarine I prefer so will have to get it elsewhere... if I can find it. I did get the rest of the holiday meal items... canned sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, pumpkin and pie crusts, and whipped topping. I didn't get home until 4:30 so was worn out by the time I got everything unloaded and put away. So glad I had leftovers from the day before - grilled pork chop and potato salad - so supper was easy to do.

@taxed4ever - sorry you are having rain AGAIN. Wish you could send it our way as we need it. Good luck on the art sale... sounds so exciting. Enjoy your facetime with the boys.

@tanteva Glad to hear that you and hubby are feeling somewhat better. Good luck on your ziti dish. I had to google it, too... sounds delicious. I make a Mexican version... using browned ground beef, corn, onions, stewed tomatoes and pasta with chili powder - covered with cheese. Now I have my mouth watering thinking about it. hahahaha

Need to run a few more errands today so had better get off the computer. CYL

Oh, Kay - that sounds delicious! But then again - as long as there's pasta and there's cheese in a recipe, you can't go wrong. LOL

Googled and found a recipe for ziti on my favorite blogger's web site. I'm sure it's not the "real" thing, but it's easier to follow a Swedish recipe, since the ingredients are available here. Like, I love Asian food, but 8 times out of 10 the recipe calls for something that's not available here in my boon dock stores. Sometimes I regret moving from a big town - so much more was available there. Now I always have to find substitutes for the more exotic ingredients.

Good morning everyone. I'm off to the dentist this morning for the permanent bridge to be placed. I expect to feel sore for a few days but then its done...I can get on with my life. I hate dental stuff. I miss salad (how weird is that LOL) but it was too risky, too much chewing and the chance of a bit getting up under the temporary bridge and causing problems wasn't worth it. Next week I can get back to my normal eating habits. Yay.

Made the smoked tofu mustard sauce and like it. It's a bit grainy but I think next time I'll use a creamier tofu and not a frozen one that thawed out. I'll be making that a lot to drizzle over buddah bowls, veggies and starches.

@faerywings I can commiserate about sleepless nights. I use the time to catch up on tv shows, turning the volume really low, turn on captioning and watch something that I can mostly listen to (like General Hospital). Good luck today with your mom on gift idea shopping. We are really going to go low key on gifts this years, partly the cost, partly the lack of enthusiasm for shopping.

@tanteva Sure hope you feel better soon.

@taxed4ever Feel proud that you are going to be in the art show. Even if you don't sell anything, I think the honor of being able to display speaks to your talent and the fact that they consider you "show worthy". Good luck. You are one talented lady :)

@BrightEyes Good idea about the turkey. I was thinking the same thing about ham when I see it on sale (for D). I can cook it up and then freeze single portions of it for him) which will be cost effective if I find a sale. I used to buy the turkey sales, cook and freeze individual portions, freeze soup and gravy too. I don't bother now that I'm vegetarian, its more work than I want to do now.

I'm getting on with my morning b/c I'll be gone at lunch time to the dentist and know my work day is going to be busy. Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon.

Adrienne just left - we had a nice visit and good coffee. Today's her "light day" at work, so she got to stay a little longer than usual. Chris @faerywings my pedi was Heavenly! I think it was one of the best foot massages I've ever had! The guy who did it was awesome and I tipped him accordingly. He was SO sweet, too! Really reminded me of the excellent service we used to get in Florida. The nail salons in Florida served wine, though. (It's a different world there.)

Trudy @taxed4ever I only get pedis because I can't do my own - I have so much trouble cutting my nails and always cut them crooked or normally cut myself. It's not a vanity thing it's a necessity thing. In Florida, getting a pedi was a once-a-month (or sooner) - now, it's I really NEED it. It's been awhile since I had one. If I cut my own nails, I make them sore. Adrienne and I are still wearing our flip flops - if the weather is decent at all.

Kay @BrightEyes you wore me out talking about everything you did yesterday! Way to work it and you got your turkey! Glad you got your scripts, even if you had to wait on them. Ours go to Walmart, so if we have to wait, we can browse.

I was up until 2 am waiting on the cat to come in. He finally meowed just before 2. I like for him to be in before I get in bed, because I don't sleep well otherwise. It's so cold at night, but he goes out anyway. I crashed after he came in and didn't wake up until 10:30 this morning. Never woke up once time.

Rae @bcgal00 glad to hear that you're getting your permanent bridge in. What an ordeal - I've been there. Oh, to be able to eat again. Eva @tanteva good to read that you and Urban are feeling better.

I'm going to go get a challenge done - started one last night, but I'm not happy with it.

TGIF!!!

Hi everyone! Work is not so busy today - phew! We are doing interviews so a bit busier than usual (I work in Human Resources), but not as busy as the rest of the week, I am actually catching up on stuff (phew!).

Our hot tub got delivered on Tuesday and the electrician finally made it there yesterday so we filled it and had to have the agonizing wait of 8 hours to heat it lol It said 6-9 degrees per hour (Farenheit) so I calculated that to be 2 am, I couldn't stay up that long but got up at 5 am (instead of 5:30) so I could go in. Divine I tell ya!!!!
tub.jpg

@faerywings I hope you get some sleep soon!

@tanteva I've always wanted to try Ziti too but never bothered to look it up - now I feel like I have to! lol!!!

@taxed4ever I hope your weather smartens up before I get to Vancouver later this month! lol!
