I woke up in a *mood* and I am trying the fake it til ya make it act. No specific reason to be in a mood other than it is dark outside and this weekend, Daylight Saving Time ends.
I got a few more things crossed off of my to-do list yesterday and added a few more things to it so it overall was a net "wash." I was on the phone with my mom a million times and ended up arguing with her over Thanksgiving, of all things. It looks like I might be having T-day here. Which will be interesting since I don't/won't cook a turkey.
Other than that, I spent two more hours out raking leaves. The weather was gorgeous, sunny and close to 70 again. I don't care that the leaves aren't all down yet and that I will be raking many more times. It was nice to get in the fresh air, soak up the sun.

Today I need to make the sympathy cards since I bailed on that yesterday. I got 3 out of the 5 windows covered over, so today I will do the other two. Then I need to get ready for tomorrow- 4 hours in the car for a 2-hour wake. At least Caitlyn's car is back from the shop, one less thing to worry about today.

Hugs!

@tanteva That would be great if you still have more hours that you are allowed to work. That way you can go back to ignoring the house/ironing/decluttering plans and still feel good! Haha! I vote that you scrap 2 million LOs a day. That would be a challenge but I bet ya could do it! Bwahaha
That is really funny if your house ghost is trying to get your attention to do something meaningful. Doesn't he know that scrapping and watching TV are meaningful? Especially if you are watching Medium, it's like a tutorial on how to connect with him.

@LSlycord How was lunch? And how was the apt? What did Sydney decide to do? is she able to have her car there so she won't have to take the bus every day to get to campus? Ugh, I am not sure I like the room with no window either...
Where was Shaun's field trip? I bet FL has some incredible places to visit for EnvSci.
I love that you are taking a pie-baking class with Syd! The semester is flying by.

@BrightEyes Glad that you are slowly able to do some more things. Yikes about the weather, I hope it doesn't get too cold. And snow- well. You know how I feel about that. 'nuff said
Take good care of that arm, we need you back.

@Cherylndesigns Did you sleep any better last night?
Gary thought yesterday was Friday and I thought it felt that way too. Just wait until next week when I clean for my friend n Wed instead of Thursday b/c she and the kids are off school on Thursday/Friday.
Gary just asked me what my schedule/kids' schedules were for next week since Caitlyn's car also needs brakes. o_O

I don't know!! #cry I don't; know *anything*!

@tanteva That is really cool that you can see your ghost friend. yes, scrap about him! How did you find out his name is Anders?

@vickyday I am sure you had a great day with your friends ♥

@bcgal00 Good thoughts to D, is this for his Crohn's? I hope that everything went well. Snow for you too?!? Yikes.
I hope that Jen is feeling better, I only felt sick that first day after the shots so hopefully she is back to herself. My eyes get dry and tired more quickly as I am getting older, it stinks.

TY for all being Team Sam! #kiss

Good morning!
I'm up EARLY today since I went to bed earlier last night! My 80+ friends wore me out yesterday, LOL, but we had a great time @faerywings !
We are getting together again tonight. This time Ilene is trying a new recipe out on us. Loaded baked potatoes. You add steak-ums meat to them! It will be interesting as I am NOT a loaded baked potato fan! Just give me lots of butter, thank you very much!
Also Mark will be joining us. After we eat we will play some Qwirkle and Rummikub before going home.
I will be fixing sugar free brownies for our dessert. Mark is diabetic, but these brownies (Pillsbury brand) are soooooo good! You can't tell they are sugar free! REALLY! Because I am NOT a sugar substitute person, either! It generally give me a headache, so that and the chocolate are NOT a good combination for me! Just as well! I don't need the extra calories!

Mark is still working his you-know-what off but is only working until noon today so he can get some more work done on our cabin-in-the-woods before we go over to Ilene's! He wants to get the roof on! It will be a tin roof! It will be nice to nap in during the rain! ;)

I think I will be working on some scrapbooking today. I'm doing the 30 days of Gratitude for the month. I have kept up on the blog, but I also want to do a scrapbook page for each day.....OOOPS! I'm 3 days behind already, LOL!

That's my schedule for the day!
Have a great day!

Good morning ladies! Had a great time with Syd yesterday. She is going to take the apartment. I love that girl. She didn't need to ask our opinion but it was important to her. @Cherylndesigns she told the girls when they looked at the apartment that "her dad sold real estate in Iowa and she didn't think you could call something a bedroom without an egress window". It made me laugh when I saw your comment. But after looking at it, that bedroom is the closest to the door to the outside hallway. Probably 8 feet. Not ideal but it's a nice complex with 4 bus stops inside the complex and she can park her car for free. She won't be able to drive to campus during the day but they open a lot of the spots at night so if she has club meetings, she can drive which she really can't now because she can't get a spot when she comes back to her building. So, hopefully, it all works out.

Shaun went to a water treatment plant and said that it was actually very interesting. He is struggling with motivation for school. He doesn't really know what he wants to do for a living and really doesn't have any friends. I keep hoping that he can catch a break...but I don't know.

Nothing special planned for today. I need to finish up FAFSA forms today. Then my government paperwork will be complete for awhile I hope.

I am going to try to get my PS working. It won't open now...just stopped. I click to open and it does nothing! Ugh... Might need to uninstall and re-install. What an incredible pain that is.

@faerywings I'm sorry about the Thanksgiving fiasco. Oh my goodness, brakes for Caitlyn's car. It's never-ending. I love the weekend that we fall back...and I'm one of those crazy people that historically has liked when we get an extra hour of daylight in the morning. But now that I don't have to commute to work, I'm not quite as crazy about it. I find the dark depressing. Of course, to me, the dark seems like it is signaling cold weather...and that is definitely not the case here.

@vickyday I love how much fun you have with your friends. It sounds like that cabin with the tin roof will be perfect in the fall...really delightful.

@BrightEyes glad that the doctor thinks that you are doing the right things and glad that you can do a bit of scrapping! Hope that you can keep warm with the upcoming snow.

@Cherylndesigns I know that your family is bummed that you will be away for Thanksgiving but of course, they all want you to be with Steph and Asher when they need you.

@bcgal00 hope that D's testing went well and the drive was good. I hear you about the glasses. I'm very close to adding readers to my list. I have transitional glasses and they just really don't work so well any longer. Prescription is current but I feel like my head is constantly moving up and down. And snow, for some reason, I can't really imagine that. Let's face it, I lived with snow most of my life...I shouldn't have trouble imagining it.

Ok ladies....have a great day. I'm off to fix my PS.

Just to make sure you all know I'm bonkers ... Anders actually told me himself that that's his name. I was meditating and he came into the room, and I asked for his name, and he told me. Turns out that the person who owned this house before the one we bought it of, actually was named Anders (found that out later). I'm guessing it's him.

And ... it wouldn't be farfetched that he wanted to make sure I remembered he was here, now that I was watching other ghosts on TV. I'm not open to it all the time, and maybe he's been feeling neglected lately?

Yes, they are quite fun to be around! I can't wait for the cabin to be finished! Thanks!

Good morning ladies. Enjoyed the drive to Vernon yesterday (under 2 hrs), dropped D off at the hospital so he could relax in their waiting room and hopefully get in early. He insisted we leave at 10 a.m. but the test wasn't until 2:30. They said b/c the MRI (for his prostate) was the longer more involved test they couldn't squeeze him in so he had to wait and wasn't out of there until 4, so I had about 4 hrs to myself. I drove around, took a few scenery shots, unfortunately the fall leaves were almost gone but I could see how pretty it must have been 2-3 wks ago. I found a nature park that will be fun to go to in the spring. I finished my Xmas shopping at their mall which is even smaller than ours (their population is about 45,000) but had the stores I wanted. I bought some winter boats that I love, comfy and cute and well insulated. Got more Xmas bulbs so finished with that, just need a bit more garland for the tree (going with silver/bronze/gold) for relaxing soft colors this year. I finished up the day by sitting in starbucks, drinking a pumpkin latte and reading my book app. On the way back I stopped to get a photo of a red tailed hawk just outside of Vernon and then the snow started. We drive back in a blizzard and saw 6 cars off the road. Coming up our hill there were 3 cars that didn't make it, off on the side of the road but the rest of us made it. Anyone that doesn't have snow tires on here is crazy b/c everyone knows they get snow by Nov. We got about 3" yesterday, today it warms up a bit so only flurries/rain and then Sun and Mon we should get another 3-5" or so.The dogs are in heaven, especially Remi. She is a winter dog for sure. She was sliding all over the yard in the snow and rolling in it. The snow here is beautiful, soft and powdery, not like the wet slushy snow of Vancouver.

I will get outdoors with the dogs in the snow a lot today and get some CT work done. I need to do some chores at some point too. It'll be a quiet day.

@faerywings I don't want to cook a turkey either (too much work, I'm getting lazy lol) but I will for Xmas b/c I know J and D want it. I do love turkey and stuffing, just not the work involved. At least Jen will be here to help with cleanup. For our Thxgiving I refused to cook turkey so baked chicken instead, that was easier. Hope you get your cards done.

@vickyday Enjoy scrapping and hanging out with friends later. I like brownies too, mine are SF, GF and low carb.

@LSlycord Glad that S is good with the apt. Sounds like the bus/night time driving will work out well for her. Hope that S figures out his path. Hope he sticks with school and finds something that interests him. It sure is frustrating with the glasses, isn't it?

Remi is nudging me to go feed the birds but first I need to shovel the porch and stairs so I can get down them, they are covered in 2-3" of snow. HAGD everyone.

Good afternoon. Yes, Chris @faerywings I finally slept better last night. I actually slept like a rock - made up for a couple of nights of not sleeping well. We got the logistics all straightened out yesterday so I think I relaxed for the first time in a couple of days. LOL I love it that I'm not the only one why has their days mixed up. Gary is my "mixed up day partner". See, your cleaning schedule messed you up, too - I know it was Casey's fault. BWAHAHA She'd laugh out loud if I told her that.

Sending you hugs for the upcoming wake. Did you choose a quote for the cards? Sorry you had a "day" with your mm over TG. Holidays can be a royal pain sometimes.

Linda @LSlycord how funny that the windowless bedroom can't be considered a bedroom. Hahaha Is there an echo in here? I'm sure it will work out and kids don't care, do they? When I was that age, I'd have been happy for an over-sized closet. Yes, the "compound family" is super bummed that I won't be here. IF Steph feels up to it, her best friend has invited us to her house for Thanksgiving. She says she's going! Knowing her indomitable spirit, we'll be going.

I'm going to cut this short. I have SO much to do to get ready to leave. I only have until Monday night to be ready to roll. We have to leave here about 6 AM on Tuesday morning. I have to be ready to walk out the door before I go to bed Monday night - you all know I'm NOT a morning person. That's putting it mildly. #angry2

@faerywings Hope the mood lifted! It really is a thing ;-) We are starting to get more sun here in the apartment and generally, after a really shocking winter and early spring, and it makes such a different. Weirdly, I don't remember the weather even factoring into my mood when I was young and lived here. Bad weather was just an excuse to wear a cool coat ;-)

I hear you about the cool coats. I used to be a "coat freak" when I was young and thing. LOL I had SO many cool coats - I even had a white, wool coat - it was fabulous!!! And lots of cool boots, too. You and I would have made a cool pair in our stylin' coats.
