It's here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :whoo:  :whoo:
No, not Black Friday, I don't give a hoot about that. It's the Oscraps 12 Days of December party!
Check it out: 12 Days of December General Information
So much good stuff is happening behind the scenes and Buddy the O'Elf has been packing for the trip down from the North Pole. :D

Yesterday was a really nice time with the family. Gary came with us too! That made me so happy. Really really happy. Caitlyn brought the girls down with her and my niece, Juliet, brought her two boys. She has two girls (Hazel and Mocha, the third- Kona- passed away. She was the one that Cait babysat for a while and had a tumor). She had a boy- Bean- who was getting lonely and depressed (rats should never be kept solo b/c they are so social) so she was able to get a new baby whose name is Dunkin (Caitlyn named him). Two points for anyone who can guess the theme. LOL
It was weird playing with the boys. Bean is 5 months old and so much larger than Cait's girls. Dunkin is 6 weeks and small but will be Livvie's size when we see him at Christmas. He already weighs about the same as Liv.
I are lots of stuffing and potatoes and some apple pie and chocolate mousse. My kind of meal. Oh yeah, I had some brussel sprouts too to make it "healthy."
How was you Thanksgiving/Thursday?

Today, my mom is coming up so I can help her do more online shopping. I don't know how I am going to do that WHEN I HAVE NO LISTS OR IDEAS! (yup, shouting, not caps lock.)
Everyone is asking me what I want, the kids, Gary-- I have no clue and yup, I am panicking about that myself. My mom is really stressing and that is not good for her heart so I am going to try and help her as much as I can even if it means that I am left short. I can always do last minute shopping with Amazon Prime.
I was going to start my shopping on Monday- B&M shopping since I was going to be near the mall that day for a Dr appt. (mall and Dr are both 45 mins from me and <10 from each other.) But we have snow and ice coming in on Sunday to Monday so I am not going to be able to make it down. Drat... *breaths deep trying not to have an anxiety attack*

Let me sign off so I can figure out WTH I need to do.
Hugs!!!!

Rae- what a fantastic idea to be able to put your photos to good use. Good luck with that plan and my fingers are crossed that it is a huge success! I am always happy to send any snow that we get to anyone who wants it. It will look very pretty to have a light, sparkly dusting in your photos.
yeah, it is bonkers with the dental ins. waiting period. I guess that in Canada you don't have to deal with Proof of Credible Coverage. B/c people here will go w/o insurance and then need it, there are only certain times where you can enroll into an ins. plan. And if you don't have coverage at that point, you have to go through waiting period. It is to keep people from not getting health ins, getting sick and then needing it. It makes sense if you are an ins. co. It is one more reason why it sucks that we don't have some sort of universal health care here because there are so many reasons why you might not have insurance.

Jean- I am guessing your bird-friend was very impressive! I hope you will share the pics! I was never into the parade either, we sometimes put it on in the background when the kids were little so they could see Santa at the end, but that was about it. Hope that your dinner was lovely!

Kay- Ahhhhhh!!!! yuck!!!! That picture is horrible! :hurt: Please tell me that you have someone who can shovel/plow for you. Very smart to stay in and be in PJs. keep that foot propped!

Trudy- what did the lady think of the sign? Bet she loved it. $80 seems low priced to me, but then again, I have *no* clue.
I cleared out a bunch of cookbooks too. We brought about 8 boxes of stuff (they were small boxes, but still...) to MILs to donate. man, it felt great!
Your egg cooker is adorable! I just popped over to Amazon to see how much they cost. The drawback is that my kitchen is so small I don't have room to store it :(

Felis- thanks for checking in. I didn't realize it was your birthday-- wish I could give you a big hug in person. Hope that the blue moods lifts soon.

I was up late last night... didn't get to sleep until midnight! Received some information about a BFF's accident and needed to email it out to other friends. It changed what our RH group will be doing for the Christmas party. I am co-queen of the group so the vice-queen and I had several phone conversations about what to do. Then it took a bit for me to get sleepy.

The snow is starting to melt. I am lucky that my house faces south as the sun shines on the driveway/front of the house so the snow usually melts there - no need to shovel it! No sun yet but the temp is up to 40 degrees so over half the driveway is clear. Not sure if the next 2 storms will bring more snow or not.

Chris, so glad you had a nice Thanksgiving. Good luck on helping your Mom do her on-line shopping.

Rae, I agree with Chris... neat idea of how to use your photos. Hope you can work out all the details on making the cards.

Trudy, hope the customer loved the sign. That is a neat egg cooker but I don't need to hard-boil that many eggs at one time.

Felis, Happy Birthday! Hope it was a fun day for you.

Need to get my shower and dressed. Then I have to face getting the laundry done. Hope everyone has a good weekend. I did get my avatar changed to kick off the 12 days of Christmas fun. We had a doxie when the kids were young... so just had to use this one for my avatar.

Morning ladies... WooHooo!!! Its the 12 Days of Christmas here at the O!! Always so much fun! I was a bit late checking in here this morning (bad cheeryO!) . I was helping Heather try to get some black friday shopping done at Toys R Us, man was it ever frustrating!! :frusty: As soon as I added things to the cart it would say oh this item is no longer available :mmph: then she had a gift card to use, but we could not figure out how to use it online, so I looked it up and then phoned the help centre because what they were saying was not available well a 40 minute wait to talk to someone??? No way!! So we gave up that idea. I will try again perhaps later in the day.

Chris - Love you avi! so fun to do the memes!! The lady did love the sign and ya my Gary thought that I wasn't charging enough either :noidea: That egg cooker really doesn't take up much room, but I am spoiled with lots of storage space and now have even more with all the cook books gone LOL. Sounds like a good time with the boys and girls LOL and so happy that your Gary got to go along with you! Hope you are able to help your mom out with the shopping! Also hope that you can figure out what you would like for your gift!!

Kay - Glad to hear that the snow is melting and you are lucky to be facing South, we face North and our driveway rarely gets the sun especially in winter, so lots of shovelling for us when we do get snow! Love your choice for the avatar challenge so cute!!

Felis - Oh my I am so sorry that I missed your Birthday! :HapBirth: to you my dear!! I sure hope that you are feeling less blue these days!!

Ok I have to get into the shower finally too and get to the dollar store for a few things, then back here to have fun and do some commenting etc. Have a great Friday ladies!!

The hawk stayed over 2 hours yesterday. We think it must have just eaten (its Thanksgiving dinner?) and hadn't anywhere special to go. Or, as my avi suggests, it was checking Santa's list. And I might point out about avi size, unlike Cheery-Os, the rest of us are limited to 150 pixels on a side. I'm not sure I did a good enough job making mine readable. Anyway, yesterday was nice and dinner was very good. DH is raking leaves yet again today as all that wind brought down lots that were clinging. At least we don't have a view like Kay's was.

Felis, so sorry I missed your birthday. When feeling blue, the party may not appeal, but wish you would give it a try anyway.

Chris, how great Gary made it! Those "kids" sound so cute. Good luck with your mom's online shopping and figuring out what the heck you want/need and for the others too.

Kay, sorry to hear about that accident. Easy to understand it not making sleep come quickly for you last night. I am sure glad that bad white stuff is going away.

Trudy, I have no doubt the sign was perfection and any price would be hard to decide. At least she is happy and the job is done. Hope you get painting and scrapping done now and H's online shopping works out.

Rae, Nancy and all, hope it's a good day.

Busy work day for me but at least it's Friday so by tonight I can sit back and relax. Tomorrow I want to get some scrapping done, hang out and comment in the forum/gallery. Later today I'll get out for a long walk with Taz. Its cold but the sun is out and he loves the cold weather. I am a wimp, bundle up and grit my teeth as we walk along LOL. Maybe I'll bring my camera for some photos. Not much to see but sometimes that's the challenge, finding beauty in the everyday/drab surroundings.

Sat out in the garden for about 20 minutes, getting photos of the birds. I'm now starting to think of ways to "stage" some natural scenes in the garden. I'm thinking of a few planks strategically placed, moving rocks around, etc. It really is fun to be out there even though the temps are so cold (25°), I bundled up in my fleecy coverup but my fingers were cold. I told Jen that I'm now getting good use of the soft fleecy robe she gave me yrs ago (it was used a few times by the blonde from L&O SVU when she was in a movie. Jen had worked as a PA back then and got it from her for free). It's perfect for wearing in the morning cold, camouflaging me a bit and keeps me warm.

Chris - sounds like a wonderful get-together with family yesterday and so glad to hear your G came too. Good luck with the onlinel shopping with your mom today.

Trudy - I know what you mean about the pricing. I struggle with that too. I always think I'm overcharging but then I find out I'm way under LOL. I know it'll be the same when I get my greeting cards ready to sell. I'll be afraid to charge much b/c then no one will buy them.

Kay - sorry to hear of your BFF's accident. Glad to hear the snow is melting and won't be a nuisance for getting out and around.

Jean - wow...your avi is spectacular. I'd be in heaven to see that!

I'd better get to work as there's lots of backlog today to do. Have a great day everyone.
