TGIF to you all! I was able to sleep until 6.30 this morning although it was by accident. I thought that I had set my alarm to 6 am instead of 5. But I must not have saved it so it never went off. Then I couldn't get out of bed for a little while longer.
I have got to take control over my life and house today. There is not one room where I could feel comfortable having a new friend come over and see. Nothing inside, nothing outside. At least in the summer when the inside is messy, the yard looks great, not this time. hahaha!!

Yesterday was actually a really nice time. The "kids" were hysterical. I love seeing them all together. My SIL is The Pinterest Queen and had a craft game planned for her younger niece and nephew. Since they were sick and unable to come, she wasn't going to do it but then said why not let the older cousins do it. They had 2 teams, two bags of marshmallows each and toothpicks. They had to build the higher tower using only those materials. The time limit was until dinner was ready which was fun since the turkey was taking longer to cook that she had planned.

You would never think that a bunch of kids ranging from 14-21 would have so much fun with it but they were enjoying every minute of it. SIL and I are so happy that the kids get along esp since we don't get to see each other as much as we would like even though we live a little less than an hour away. My nieces are also huge animal lovers and my niece (Sr in HS) wants to be a vet and is working at a wildlife center. I had a potentially very cool idea since Leah, Cait, and Juliet will all be getting diplomas in the spring-- we should make a family day at the Animal Sanctuary. I would much rather spend the money on an experience than something cheap that no one really needs.

(And just THINK about all of the photos I would have to scrap! :bliss:)

Today, I am going to finish wrapping the last batch of the shower steamers that I made and then go over my list of what other things I need to make. And then I have to deal with the papers and bills and related things that are all over my office. That is really no fun but a necessary evil.

Hoping that all of you who shop Black Friday have a safe time getting good deals. Those of you who prefer to point and click shop- don't hurt your fingers.

BTW-- Many of the designers here are having fantastic sales-- go check them out!

xoxoxo!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nancy- you have to send me your DH to come and cook pies for me. OMG- your house must have smelled so good. Hoping that you had a wonderful day with the family and that all of the football teams that you were rooting for won.
How true- I would imagine Trudy and Rae having closets full of raincoats :rain:

Trudy- that sounds not good about the Union Striking- I hope that they are able to come to an agreement before that happens. How did the meeting go?

Rae- I am sure that you are out and about-- May Good Shopping Karma follow you everywhere!

Jean- GMTA with Rae and her shopping karma :D
Hope that you had a wonderful cozy day with your hubs!

Felis- we have a saying here "Haste makes waste" and it is true as well as yours is. All good thoughts that whatever you are dealing with is able to be dealt with as easily as can be.
Hugs to you, sweetheart!

Time for me to get going! Love and hugs to everyone

Morning O-zies, just a quick in and out of here today as I am on the hunt for some Christmas goodies. Not sure if I will have much luck, but I would like to find a few things. If I don't find what I want online then I will hit the streets and local stores here.

Chris - I have been seeing your posts about the faerywings products on your Facebook page and they look amazing!! Wish I was a closer neighbour so I could attend your party! I bet they all smell as good as they look! I hope you have success with the wrapping today and sounds like you all had a great time at your SIL's yesterday! What a fun game for any age! such a good idea to have a get together for all the grads! The meeting went very well for DH and they are pretty sure that they have come to an agreement and there should not be a strike at least for the North Cowichan employees, the Duncan employees are still at the bargaining table and it doesn't sound as good for them.

OK ladies I am sorry but I have to get busy, I slept in longer than I had planned. I was awake for a couple of hours last night tossing and turning and thinking of all the things that I needed to do. I then finally fell back to sleep around 5ish and feeling very groggy this morning. Have a good morning all and I will pop in later hopefully to catch up. Happy shopping to all of you do that today!

Hello ladies,
put me in the team of oversleep today. As opposed to Chris, this lazy woman who shameless sleep to 6.30 am :becky: , I woke up in time good for lunch and was very disoriented. This totally confused my day and I'll have to stay late tonight. But bonus sleep always give me better mood, so I not sorry much. My mom bring some king of cold from his work, and my sister also not feel good today, hope they recover fast and not all to catch it tomorrow, because we have plans for the weekend. Will see! I shopped online today, waiting was exciting, because one site is local start at midnight, one british 2 hours late and then american at the morning. Unfortunately I'm capricious buyer and didn't liked many things. Hope to have better luck on Cyber Monday!

Chris, your yesterday really sounds fun! I'm not sure what is Animal Sanctuary, but sounds cool, hope you'll can realize this visit! I think I'm told this story before, but one of my biggest failures is my volunteer work at the wildlife hospital which was long only one week. Because wild bird, especially sick, are very sensitive to new people. You should be there long before to give you to clean up of their cages. New members have to prepare the food. First day fish, third day chicken, but whole chicken, you need to pluck the feathers to take out the guts, day five cut almost whole cow to ground meat. I cried so much and never come back there. Actually, days 2 and 4 was nice, we cleaned the yard and many storks and ducks made us company. I really sorry that I wasn't more enduring. I lived at this town five years, but never found courage to try again. Fortunately in a dog shelters gives only dry food and canned foods, bread and mixtures for pigs. Even now I pay more than other owners, because I can cook to my cats only meat which is already prepared for boiling.
Hmm, my home is like yours. I don't use dryer machine for the clothes, so in my living room, whole winter have aluminum clothes dryer  , so the guests have to stay at the kitchen.

Good luck at the shopping, Trudy! Like you I also whole afternoon till I do something other I also thought about the things that I should have done this year but I didn't! It have only month to the end of the year, because between Christmas and New Year is mostly lazy time. I don't know where the whole year disappeared, but almost nothing important of the list isn't done. At November I mostly work, care for my pet, web, 2 TV show and then sleep. I'm not much active, and this is too bad. I have no mood for anything, no new ideas for scrap, tried 5 different books, but no one catch me to want finished it immediately, no energy for other. Huh! I feel how I'll have to promise to be more active next year.

I'm left personal for the others yesterday and will catch up you tomorrow.
Have awesome weekend you all! :fireplace:

The sun is shining and that makes me happy. I too slept late, but that is normal. Last night I finally did it and did week 46 then finished week 45. Will post them soon. I did some work on the family history and found something interesting in material collected a while back. I'm pretty exciting about the projected little book and hope it really materializes into what I hope.

Chris, so glad yesterday was a pleasure for you. The graduation at the animal sanctuary sounds perfect. Hope today goes well, but please don't overdo. I know you're the professional cleaner, but can't anyone else do some of it?

Trudy, good luck with shopping and all today. Hope you're right about DH's union being OK with the deal.

Felis, you sound happier for the late sleeping, so what the heck. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Rae and Nancy and all hope you're out doing well.

good late afternoon! My morning has been spent cleaning and getting the house organized for the Fios guy who is upgrading our internet speed to 100 mbs from the 75. I am not sure I know why my son felt this is important LOL but he claims I need it. Of course the rooms that got straighten were not the ones he needed. Oh well. My son gave me such a hard time about cleaning and claimed I was just using excuses, one of which is that I cannot get to the TV room unless his stuff is moved. Makes me laugh because he is right I am not his maid. He did finally clean the room and it is just that he has this own ideas that he has to work though to get to the right one. Now that I am retired and time is always there I don't mind him venting and me arguing back. Too many times when he was younger I just did it. But I have learned and so is he. Luther was good because the poor repair man was attacked by a German Shepherd and he was really afraid. We just kept Luther on his leash and under commands and he did great but he too was not happy. Our Thanksgiving was so fun. Three of my DH grad students one from China and two from India. They had not been to a traditional American Thanksgiving so they were so happy. My son did an awesome job. We had so much food. Got to take a lot home. We had a lot of laughs. My son even went over to his brother's home to help clean. He was going to bake pecan crusted bourbon ball but because he was cleaning my DH did it. Well OMgosh I think I could be drunk on one of those balls. Watched the NY Giants forget how to play football and have won only two games this season. Everyone thought they were going to be good but not the case. Tonight I have a Devils vs the Canucks game and it is the Hockey fights Cancer night. Brian Boyle, our NJ Devil, who is fighting cancer will have his son drop the opening face-off puck. All the players will be wearing a Boyle strong patch. Very cool.

Chris sounds like you had a great day and did not crash! So happy for you. Love hearing the story of your kids and cousins playing. sounds like so much fun! And yes I plan on going shopping at the O. Cant wait to find time to peruse the goodies.

Trudy sounds like you are going to enjoy black Friday. Have fun and hope you can get most online. I stay home. I don't need the crowds. I am cheering for Boston today. Please defeat those Penguins.

Rae I know you are doing your share of Black Friday shopping! Have fun!

Jean your day sounds lovely and now there should be a lot of college football.

Felis hope you are having a great day!

The weather here is awesome with sun and temps in the 50s! Have a great day!

Back again from being downtown where I was so overwhelmed by all of the people and the amount of stuff out for sale that I just got a couple of items for Sadie and a new Christmas ornament for myself LOL I am not a good shopper! I did manage to get a few things that I was looking for at a better price online at Amazon.ca so hooray for me. So much for Black Friday :becky:

Jean - I imagine that your book will turn out to be a great gift! So much thought and preparation has gone into it, that I am sure it will be a big hit! How nice that the sun is shining for you today, enjoy it! It is pouring rain here today :rain:

Nancy - You are so right you are not your son's maid and he had better start to know it and clean up after himself!! Ha, Ha big talk from me :becky: I will be cheering on your Devils tonight, so hope that both of our teams come up with a big win! Have fun shopping here at the O I know that there are some amazing deals!

Feels - Glad that you managed to sleep in so late! I know the feeling though when you are late to get up, it kind of messes with your whole day! Hopefully you manage to get everything accomplished that needs to be done today, I will try to do the same!

Ok now I need to look for slippers for my DH, he wants the same things every year, he is so boring LOL . Socks, underwear and slippers oh my :becky:

Hey ladies, I'm out at the trailer and done my 2 days of shopping, whew...I won't be scrapping, no tablet with me and too tired anyway. Got some amazing deals, spent all my money and now I just want to relax tonight, watch a few Xmas hallmark movies and go to bed early. We'll head home tomorrow afternoon. Will check in then and read all the personals.
