Happy Friday Dear O-zies!
American friends- are you still in a Turkey Coma? Not me, I ate stuffing, potatoes, and bread. Caitlyn quizzed me on our drive home-- "why did you force me to eat one bite of turkey each year, especially knowing that you hated it too?" I told her that I suck at being a mom. :pound: I followed that up with the research that kids will be more likely to like a food once it becomes more familiar. That if a kid doesn't eat broccoli on the first try, keep putting it on their plate anyway. I thought that maybe she would end up liking it and I was always worried that she wasn't getting enough protein since she was like me-- not a fan of meat. She had wanted to be a vegetarian since she was like 5. And no, she never lets me live it down that I made her wait until she was in middle school to make the switch.
See, horrible mom...
We all had a nice time together and that is what is most important.

Poor Brendan had to leave early since he had to be at work at 1:30 am today. I hate the whole idea of Black Friday but that is becoming Black Thursday/Overnight/Friday, it irritates to me to no end.

Today, I am going to see if I can get another F-W product made. This time it is a new one-- a creamy clay cleanser. I am going to try and make one that is more softening/moisturizing and the other with sea clay and tea tree oil for oily skin. I also have to keep working on my IL's album. I still don't have the high res photos so I am going have to nudge MIL to send them along.

Enjoy your day!!!xoxo

Trudy- you are well prepared for the bad weather hiking-- very impressive! It sounds amazing with the ferns and the moss!! Scott would love that. Now that the majority of the data collection in the forest is finished, he is feeling the let down of not being out there several times a week. He is so much like me, resets himself completely being in nature.
How was your lunch with your SIL, get Christmas ideas all hammered out? My goodness, it is really going to be here before we know it!:fear:
Congrats on finishing your calendar!!!! Proud of you!

Nancy- OMG it is so cold-- 7* when I woke up this morning. The people in NYC must have been frozen solid by the time they left. I was so cold at my mom's that I asked her for a blanket to wrap myself in.
Awesome news about the Devils win.
heh, you all know me so well, wanting to be around plants and bugs and all nature.

Stacey- hope that your headache is gone for good. One medication that I was on for Lyme would trigger a migraine every week. I took the abx Monday and Tuesday of every week and by Wed I would have a migraine. I 100% understand how brutal they can be.
Silly question-- do you take anything for your arthritis? My Lyme Dr is concerned b/c my Rheumatoid factor will not go down at all- it has been high for over a year and she is concerned that the Lyme triggered me into having RA. But I am limited in what meds I can take. Aleve helps, but I don't want to take it too often either. I am allergic to Plaquenil which would have been another option. So I am on the lookout to see what other people have success with. TIA!
My wish for you is that you have a new pet to love very soon. That dog will be so lucky to have you. And vice versa.

Rae- glad our good shopping vibes helped getting the IP. ;) Actually, you have your own amazing good shopping vibes already. Sounds like that had a very successful day. Tax is such a cutie! Bet he wanted to help you on your iPad!
Fab idea to turn photos into puzzles for B- that will make her so happy.

We are hoping that Cait will hear from the adoption counselor this weekend so she can get those babies here soon. She is still missing Clover and Muffin so much. She says her room feels very empty without them. New babies will be nice.

:HapBirth: Kay!!
Your T Day must have been a happy day to have everyone around you even while very bittersweet. Sending you love and comfort.

I hope that your sister is able to get back to you with out any issues from snow.

Morning everyone and Happy Friday!! It was pouring here a few mins ago and now the there are patches of blue out there. Crazy November weather!! I am a Happy girl to finished my calendar and now I need to send it out for printing. I think this is the earliest I have had it done?? I could be wrong, the years are all a blur to me LOL. Today is lunch with SIL Linda, hopefully we will get some decisions made about Christmas at her place. Yesterday I briefly made a meet up with my Sister for eggs, but it was pouring rain and she was on her way to pick Bella up from school, so we just said hi to each other and then she was off  I never got to catch up with her. She is a busy Grandma!!

Chris - Your faerywings new products sound heavenly!! Oh BTW you are not a bad Mom!! We try to make sure our kids eat enough of what they need to survive, so I would say you are a great Mommy!! Hope your Mother In Law gets those hi res photos to you so you can get that job done!! Enjoy your day and keep warm my faery friend!!

Nancy - DH and I were very happy for you that your Devils defeated the Habs!! You know how I feel about that team :becky: Sure hope that nothing is wrong with your car and that it was just something that your DH was doing that made it act up!! Is it still freezing cold for you? Hope you and Luther are able to get out in the fresh air today!

Stacey - Sorry that you are suffering with a horrible headache! Hope you are feeling better today!

Rae - Yup you are the shopping Queen!! So great that you were able to the IP for J!! Great ideas for other gifts too! I think B will be over the moon happy with her puzzles, I bet they turn out really good! I will have to check out your Paleo cookbooks, but it seems if I stray from Keto at all then the weight immediately goes back on :mmph: I love my Keto diet and feel so good about my weight loss. I really don't want to go back to the old heavier me!!

:HapBirth: Kay!! A bittersweet day for you for sure, but how wonderful to be surrounded by those who love you so much! So nice to receive the flowers! Sounds like your dressing was a hit, sure wish I could eat it!! I hope that you did not get too much snow and that your sister makes it back to your place safely!

:hello: Jean, you must be a busy lady with your genealogy!! Hope all is well!!

Ok I am in need of one more cup of coffee and then I am off to do some Black Friday shopping, wish me luck!!

Morning, gals. We didn't get any more than a light spit of snow on the windshields of the cars. Just as happy over that. DD#3 came over after Thanksgiving dinner to pick up a few things of theirs. Gave her oldest son and fiance a set of Corelle dishes that I wasn't using and a vacuum. Glad to pass it along as they are moving into an apartment and are starting from scratch.

Yes, yesterday was a bittersweet day for me. It was good to be with the family but was missing Bill so much. I did have pumpkin pie for my supper.

Chris, your Fairywings products sound so delightful! How wonderful you are able to come up with new things. BTW, if you are interested in a vegan dish, I make a Zucchini-Eggplant casserole that is to die for. I would be glad to send it to you if you would like it.

Trudy, you have my utmost admiration on your hiking. Wish I could do that but bad back and knees keep me from walking very far. It sounds like you have some great hiking trails around you.

Nancy... can't believe how cold it was in the NE... Makes our 23* sound almost balmy!!

Oh, Stacey... so sorry your migraines are back again. Hope it is better today.

good morning - It is still too cold for me! And I have a hockey game this afternoon - going from the frigid to the cold all because I love hockey too funny! My team is playing their rival the NY Islanders. I should be a tough game. I did get out and try and take full moon. Now that I have my big lens I was determined. I google the suggested settings and sure enough it worked. I was so happy. So my DH got out his camera and low and be hold he does not still know how to work it. And he could not find the manual and he refused to look online so he got not photos only frustration. Again I as I told my DIL and my DH you have to use and practice to know your camera. OH well I am sure there will be more full moons LOL. My DH is baking his famous Philly sticky buns. They are so good. Yesterday for our Thanksgiving I made yummy spicy pork tacos with a cilantro spiced coleslaw. Sunday will be our Turkey day.

Chris that is so interesting that Cait knew she did not want to eat from such a young age. I find that amazing! And you were a bad mom you just needed her to have options. Glad you had a nice day with family!

Trudy congrats on finishing the calendar that is so cool! Bet you had fun with with SIL. Must be fun to get fresh eggs. One of my sons raises chickens (they are in CO.) and we had fresh eggs so yummy.

Rae glad to hear you got your gift. How funny that so many people wanted the same thing. You are amazing that you are so organized.

Stacey I used to have migraines every once in awhile. They are debilitating. Good luck finding the correct meds. I found that mine went away when I lowered my blood pressure. Same thing for a girl friend of mine.

Kay happy belated birthday! How interesting to have a birthday on Thanksgiving day even if not every year. Hope your sister arrived with no problems from snow!

Have a great day all!

Pouring rain here and the forecast has a few more days yet to come. My path out to the sidewalk is over saturated and one big puddle. My little dog Joey tiptoes around it then runs back into the house. He hates the rain and hates the raincoat even more. Lol
DH’s birthday is on Sunday. He still hasn’t said where he wants to go for dinner. So annoying.
I have been making Christmas stockings for Joey (dog) and my daughter’s fellow she is seeing. He gets an appliqué polarbear on a sleigh, tiny tassles for a scarf and a black leather trim at the top all on navy corduroy. Decorating starts next week I think. So much work for me as hubby likes to have the entire house decorated inside. I must be getting old and crotchety.

I'm so happy to see sunshine today. While yesterday was cold and this morning, now it's 42. DH did his bird survey this morning and it was pretty slow but a few nice sightings. For Thanksgiving we watched football and roasted a chicken with baked sweet potatoes (yellow Jersey sweets, NOT those orange things) and green beans with mushrooms and green onions. I wanted to fix a fruit dessert but we were too full. The most pressing genealogy things right now are finishing the complicated lineage application review and doing what's become the annual (once monthly) family history news for DH's family. I'm also happy to have just posted two pages, one for a recent weekly.

Chris, curious that you eat chicken but not turkey. The new F-W products sound wonderful. Hope you have good smells from them. Hoping C gets the new babies soon.

Trudy, congrats on finishing the calendar! I was really impressed with your hike, both getting it done in the rain and the beautiful moss and ferns you described. I don't think I got to comment on the canvases for the kids, but I too found them so beautiful.

Kay, another belated Happy Birthday! So good it was a day when you were with your family. Hope sis made it back OK.

Nancy, congrats on the full moon shots. Sure does pay to RTFM on cameras. I should do more of it myself. Good luck on today's Devils game. I think we're going to be a little warmer for a bit.

Kythe, that Christmas stocking sounds intriguing. Hope you'll have picture to share when it's done. Poor Joey and the rain. Bet he's cute.

Good morning, ladies. I've been busy working and doing a bit of online shopping. J ordered the puzzles yesterday so can't wait to see them in a week or so when they are ready for pick-up. I'm going to get a few supplies ready to take up to the hospital tomorrow so B can work on some Xmas cards. She's done a bit of baking with the facility. They made cookies yesterday. Jen sent me a pic and it was so nice to see her happy beaming smile as she showed off her cookies. Its going to be weird to eat one tomorrow as I'm sure she has saved a few for me and D. I can't say no but it sure will seem weird to eat a bit of wheat. Haven't done that in at least 3 yrs.

Just finished a book this morning "A Simple Favor" which was good. As the Xmas season is here, I decided to read "Mistletoe Inn" next.

Chris - your house must smell heavenly with all your FW products being made. Hope C gets the rat babies soon.

Trudy - enjoy your lunch visit with your sister and congrats on getting the calendar done. The pages I have seen are beautiful.

Kay - happy birthday. Glad you spent yesterday with family, I bet that made the day a little brighter.

Nancy - did you buy a big lens? Did I miss hearing about that? What did you get? Dinner sounds delicious (as yours always does).

Kythe - be sure to share a pic of the xmas stockings you make. My boy Taz is the opposite of your Joey, he will run thru every puddle he can find LOL.

Jean - dinner sounds good. I love sweet potatoes, every kind, I'm not picky.

I'm getting back to work, later I'll be popping out to get some miniature Xmas decorations so B can decorate a red cone like a xmas tree, for her room. I think she'll love it. Looking forward to taking some pics of her.

Have a great day, everyone.
