The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Wow, this week seemed to be one big endless loop, but finally Friday is here! And woo baby, I am so excited to be heading up to my parents' house tonight. I need a change of scenery- a different sofa to sit on LOL

I wish I was feeling a bit better. I think I am getting the cold that seems to be flying around. Sore throat, headache, some chills. However, all of that could be allergy/menopause related too. The sore throat could be that Gary decided to bleach some of the mold in the bathroom yesterday. at a 50/50% dilution. I don't know how he didn't pass out in there. My throat and eyes were burning and I wasn't even in there. At any rate, unless I am next-to-dead, I am going. Scott is going to drive up, so I don't even have to worry about that.

Just a few things that I need to do here- make rice pudding for my dad's b-day gift and pack. I guess I should check the....
Dang! I have no idea what I was going to write. I do that a lot when I talk. Brain cuts out partway through a sentence. Sheesh!

Oh well. It will come to me. Perhaps.

I hope that you all have a fantastic Friday!

Kat- oh yeah, Scott knows exactly what buttons to push :) He and Cait have a little game they play with me. "Messin' with Mom." They think it is funny. Actually, it is. They make me laugh my butt off most days. We have so little in health and money, but laughter-- we got that. Yup! :p
I have a really hard time with Lazy days too. As you hang in here more, you will see that even when I say I am going to do "nothing" it never turns out that way. My family gets aggravated with me when I try to help clear the dinner rolling my IV pole with the other hand. I think that is why I love to go to my Mom's- I have permission to do nothing, and there is nothing to be done. She does all of the cooking- I help clean up when she is done, but other than that- it is all her.
Have the abx kicked in yet? Friendly PSA: take your probiotics too. Sending a nice big mug of tea with honey to you :tea:
So sorry that I got Time Warp in your head, but it is much better than Christmas music right now! lol!!

Nancy- you have the darn cold too? Feel better! ITA-- a food truck would be so nice. We don't have any restaurants in town that deliver other than pizzerias and now that Cait quit- we lost our "in" on one of them *giggle*

Rae- isn't is funny how a day off can through everything off? I think my hubs could have used some of your hubs cleaner for the bathroom. LOL
I will have to try the neosporin/sock trick today. We have *plenty* of mismatched socks in the laundry room :washing:

Trudy- How was the storm, hope that you didn't get hit with too much of the wind. I had to chuckle about your Gary's uniform not as comfortable. My dad does Honor Guard for all of the funerals, and the last one he had to go to, my mom said that his pants were so tight, that she felt bad he was going to have to stand at attention for so long in them.
I have never been a James Bond fan (Austin powers is more my speed hahah!) but I am so glad that you enjoyed it.

Rae- that is crazy about your dr!!! Are you able to get any of your medical records???? I couldn't imagine having to start from scratch with my insane medical history

Better get off the computer and start my day. I have to drive Cait to school today. She has to bring a Ouija board in for a prop for something they are doing in Gothic Lit.

One last thing-- gotta brag! Scott got an 87 on a Philosophy test and a 94 on Western Civ. He put them on the fridge! So proud of him. (For the newer folks, Scott graduated HS bu the skin of his teeth!!)

good morning - the sun is finally shining and I love it. We are going to be in the 50s with lots of wind. Today is my son's birthday. Hard to believe it has been so many years LOL. My cold got worse last night but feeling a tad better this am. But I felt much better last night as I watched my Devils defeat the Blackhawks 3-2. It was exciting! The Hawks are a scary team and kept me team scrambling but we bent but did not break and my goal tender was awesome! Today is doing a bit of cleaning as Rex is coming for a weekend visit. Of course Ashley is doing the driving!

Chris have a great time on your trip to PA. Enjoy being pampered. Congrats on how well Scott is doing! And it is nice to have the kids do the driving!

Kat hope your throat is doing much better. So nice with the antibiotics finally kick in!

Rae having my husband or son home from work for vacations can mess me up too! Glad you had sun for your photo shoot! I can't believe your doctor just shut the office with out letting you know! Good luck when you meet your new doctor!

Trudy so glad to hear that Specter was a hit! Seeing actions movies in a real movie theater is the best! I saw on the news this am that a huge storm is coming your way. Take care especially with the wind! Bet you are glad you got to the movies before this storm hit. This is going to be a strange Thanksgiving as my youngest is going with his girlfriend to PA. It will be the first without both boys home since Zach got back from the Marines. So I understand you frustration about Christmas planning!

Waving to all! Have a great day!

Morning everyone, well its afternoon here but guess its morning with the majority.
Yep Trudy sure was the same cringe spot for me as for you- needles- shudder.
Robbie is chronically needle phobic, all tests , jabs etc have to be done under sedation at the hospital, so I really didnt want him to see that part- he didnt connect it though thank goodness. Def loads of action do not know if there will be another, but do not see why not.
The weather is really unsettled here, high winds and sheets of rain alternating with the odd glimpse of sunshine.
have a good weekend everyone
Claire

Morning O-zies!! No wind and right at the moment no :rain: but I am sure that will change! We did not get hit with the horrible winds that they said we would. I think the central coast got the brunt of the wind and the lower mainland also but we lucked out!! Even so I had all my candles out ready for the power to go out. It seems that when they say the wind is coming from the South East we usually do not get hit with it, we must be in a pocket and it seems to pass us by. So hooray no big mess to clean up in the back yard!!

Chris - WTG Scott on his most excellent marks!!! Hope that you are not going to be sick for your visit with your parents!! Nice that you do not have to worry about the driving and perhaps you can catch a nap on route? Enjoy the relaxation and pampering that your wonderful mother gives to you while you are there! Rice pudding would have been the perfect gift to give my Dad too, he absolutely loved his rice pudding!! Thanks for the memory!!

Nancy - How great that the Devils are doing so well! I bet you really enjoyed that win!! Yes that storm was supposed to be a huge one, but as usual it seemed to pass us by with not much oomph to it all. Although I am sure other areas were hit hard. Happy Birthday to your son!! Nice that he is spending the Thanksgiving with his girl, but kind of sad for you, but at least he is not going to be away because of the Marines!! Hopefully you will still enjoy a lovely Thanksgiving with the rest of your family!!

Claire - I think that scene in the Bond movie bothered me so much because he couldn't move... needles don't usually concern me but that really bugged me! Poor Robbie so hard to see your children have such a fear!! Yes thank goodness he did not connect with the needles in the movie Whew!! Hope your weather turns into a sunny day for you enjoy the rest of the afternoon and have fun scrapping today if you get the chance!

Rae- I can't believe that your Doctor just up and left!! Must be something fishy going on there!! Hope you find a good reliable one this time!!

Ok off to get breakfast and finish the Auzzie Calendars today!! I am on my last page and ahead of schedule. Then I get to start the Calendars for the rest of the family. :becky: Have a great Friday ladies!! Do something that makes you smile today!!

Good morning, ladies. I've got a busy day planned with some work this morning, then off to meet my new doctor and get my thyroid script renewed. Then home to change for my hubs' xmas party tonight. I usually bring one of my pro cameras and end up doing photos for everyone but this year I'm going to relax, bring my smaller mirrorless camera and just take some candids. We are having torrential rain and wind these last couple of days and the streets have been flooding everywhere. Not looking forward to going out in that tonight.

Chris - hope you have a good weekend at your dads.

Have a scrappy day, ladies!

Hi ladies! Phew, a later check-in for me today - had an interview at 7:30 this morning ... and I really like her! (have a person working for me now that just frustrates me - have told her I just want to grab her shoulders and shake them, but she doesn't get it *sigh* end rant ) will see how round #2 goes. Chinese food for lunch today - yum!

Thanks for the well-wishes on the meds. All kickin' in and feeling much better as far as throat soreness and swelling goes. Now, this darn cough?! Yeah. Uh-huh. I think that's going to linger for a while. *sigh*

Good news! Boss approved my trip to see Mum for her surgery! Psst, down-under girls, I'll be in Canberra in early December ... just sayin' ;) (road trip!!)

Chris - have a fun RELAXING weekend! I know that will be hard to just switch everything off (I know that all too well!! LOL), but just enjoy the pampering. I bet it makes your Mom feel great to have you home and to just spoil you for a while. Congrats to Scott on the grades! Does he know he's got a secret cheer squad here? ;)

Nancy - Happy Birthday to your son! :bday We might have to have a hockey discussion ... we're Redwing (hubby) and Caps (me) fans in our house!

Claire - been meaning to ask, how are things with the new house? I see pictures of how the garden is coming along, which looks great. Do you have to do much protection for the winter months?

Trudy - I will happily give you the wind we have here at the moment. My office is on the top floor of our building and it's just howling around!

Rae - holiday party already?! Usually I'm so into the holiday season, gift giving, etc. This year, I'm like, what do you mean there's only six more Friday's until Christmas?! :eek2:

ooh! Lunch is here. Gotta go! :)

Good afternoon O-fam! I spent much of yesterday in my hubbies truck- we went from home to Indiana and back for a business meeting and he had to stop at a customers - twice. We left at 7:30am and got back home at 10:30pm. Today I am getting the house ready for company!! Cleaning and cooking-

Hi Kat

The new house is great for the first couple of months we were mid building site as they were still building the houses opposite us and finishing of the three next door to us. Now
most of those are now occupied, our road is now a tarmac one instead of dirt track and the building is beyond our area, so not much disturbance now. The garden had been changed to spring bedding and bulbs and will hopefully withstand the winter. My vulnerable plants have been 're potted onto smaller pots cutback and put in the greenhouse. It
is not heated so it may not all survive.the two middle beds which lay fallow for a couple of months have been sown with a special winter greens crop which will be dug back into the soil in March. I
N April we will plant early crop potatoes then in June they will become annual flower beds. That is the theory.

Laurie, that's a lot of driving to do in one day! Hopefully your company will appreciate the cooking and cleaning efforts. I often think, eh, I'll just leave things as they are. You know, the "lived in" look ... and then I trip over a pair of shoes that have been strewn at the front door ... :ohwell:

Claire, love the "that's the theory" comment at the end for the garden. Sounds like a good plan - are you thinking about adding some sort of heat (lamps?) to the greenhouse? I can imagine that it's nice to have the construction zone out of your immediate area now.

No plans for heated greenhouse, one or two special plants may come into the house as house plants. We have had real fun in the house, we came with what we had furniture except for a new bed for us and dinning table which would fit in the kitchen/dinning room. We have since added things i.e. new furniture for the living room what we brought was too chunky and didn't fit. All rooms now have new curtains and for the bedrooms matching bedding.David is busy making furniture for the spare room so it is his hobby room as well. As it turned out we did it the right way round as it would have been hard to tell before hand which furniture fitted or didn't. It has also been great fun doing one room at a time.

Trudy, where do you live? We got hit this weekend with a big ole storm--and my living room ceiling has developed a leak right down through the recessed lighting. I am SO thrilled. And of course, nobody has called me back, even though I called them on Friday. Not that I'd really expect them to work out in the driving rain, I guess.

We saw the movie uh... the one with all the emotions inside peoples' heads. Animation. It was really awesome, especially for our high functioning autistic/ADD son. He thought it was a really terrific way to explain emotions, and even got the idea from it that it was ok to be BOTH sad and happy at the same time.

Other than that, I've been dealing with all my emotions about France & Paris & people in general--a good rainstorm is just what I needed for all that.
