A very grateful Veterans' Day to all of those who have served and are still serving to make sure the World stays as peaceful and democratic as it possibly can. (You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one...)

TGIF to all of those who celebrate that too and Cait is sure in that crowd today. This is her first full week of work, even when she was in school, she didn't have to be out of the house every day M-F. She looked tired this morning. Her dept is off for Veterans' Day but she doesn't have any holiday time built up yet so they told her that she could go in and work on a project so she wouldn't lose her hours. So even though she is working, it should be a pretty low-key day for her.

I had both kids home for dinner last night-- 2 in a row! Made me happy and this time there was no fighting. Oh, I mean "debating." And we had leftovers so no cooking, even happier! I talked to my dad and mom and they seemed like they were in very good moods. What a day hmmm ♥
Not much happening here, plugging along on some scrapping. And cleaning. And laundry. The stuff that never ends. pfft.

HAGD!

Good morning. Sitting here in the lanai at 73*. Cloudy and breezy but Nicole is gone!!!

Some real damage....homes destroyed along the ocean in Daytona Beach. The A1A Highway has a big stretch that was closed due to being really torn up. Not a lot going on here. I am thinking about taking a day trip to Merritt Island next week to do some wildlife photography. It's all about the goals. Thinking I may run to Aldi's to see about eggs and butter...I heard that they have a really good price on those. My goodness...what has my life become. LOL

Also need to get some deep cleaning done here before I start Christmas decorating. I need some more lists going.

@LSlycord I am relieved that you didn't get too much wind and rain. HAHAHA! I am, LMBO over not paying to do the job of looking for broken eggs. Don't blame you one bit. My town' FB page is a Daily Grievance Column and one-day last week it was all about the self-service checkouts at our ShopRite. 100s of comments on why people wouldn't do the cashier's job on their own order. (FTR: If I have a cart full, I always go to a person. If I have 1-2 items I will go to self-checkout. It's not that big a deal) But I don't blame you for getting aggravated that the eggs were that $$ and broken to boot. ShopRite's produce is awful-- goes bad in a day after bringing it home and it stinks that it's so expensive and ends up in the garbage. I stopped buying a lot of fresh produce
Side note (as if anyone cares LOL): We have another new supermarket opening in town today!!! And yes, my town's FB is all excited. For now. By tomorrow, they are gonna be b****ing that it's too expensive/not well stocked/ too much stock/not clean/good produce/bad produce/blah blah blah. We have had 4 grocery stores in this location since I have been here, and all have gone out of business within a year or two. *fingers crossed they can make it*
Good for you Linda- I can't tell you the last time I did all of the challenges here. If I do 3-4 I am pretty happy. Go go go!!

@BrightEyes Stay warm! Is it snowing on the mountain yet? That's great to hear that you and your girls had a nice time together. It's really really nice to see you pop in and say hi! (Just don't push yourself. I know. I can't help myself from saying it.)

@bcgal00 I thought your avatar photo was different, you look adorable with the long bags in front! I saw the hawk photo on FB, how incredible. Wait-- is that 19* C or F??? That has to be C*.
Either way, its toooo cold! LOL
OMGOMGOMG!!! Look at the pups in sweaters!!! Love them!! All Taz needs is a pipe and hat and he could be Sherlock Holmes. What a good boy. Remi-- she has that evil glint in her eye♥

@tanteva I honestly don't know how you deal with the time changes either, does it make any difference whatsoever whether it is lighter in the morning or at night?
BTW- that was my point with the debate. I'd rather have a nurse with skill and no empathy than one with empathy and no skill. I had a really sweet nurse/tech place a PICC line and kept punching through my vein. I was bruised from my shoulder to my elbow. But she was nice :/

@Cherylndesigns thanks for letting us know how you are doing and that Steph is hanging in. I can imagine after Ian that it was not easy for her to not be with Asher. That's fab that you were able to stay at the Ex's.
Smart homes sound neat but I don't think I'd like it either. Although at least I would have someone to talk to other than myself LOL Tell Steph we are thinking of her. How long will she be in the hospital?

hugs!

@faerywings it sounds like you had a good day yesterday. And both kids home for supper...woo hoo! I know that's big stuff now. And your parents both in a good mood...what a day!

@BrightEyes I'm so glad that you are doing so much better. It sounds like most of life is back to normal except for computer time! Those winter temps sound rough!

@bcgal00 $8 for a dozen eggs...what in the world! Love the pics of the dogs...and all of your nature photos are what is inspiring me to take the trip to Merritt Island. I only wish that you were here to take it with me. I guess Brian will have to do. ;)

@tanteva and @faerywings I only want the empathy if I can have the skill as well! They used to not be able to find my veins when I needed blood drawn. It seems to be better now. But the worst thing was when they would apologize over and over...and I'd have to tell them that it was ok. Because I had empathy! Dang...that wasn't good.

@Cherylndesigns glad to hear that things went well with Steph's surgery. I can only imagine the PTSD from Ian. I can't quite imagine living in a smart home...I've resisted Alexa, etc. But I suppose I could change my mind.

Ok...have a good day all!

Welcome to the adult world, Cait! ;)
I know you are a happy momma, Chris! I love when my kids are in and love the banter around the table! Fun times! I cherish each and every one because they are few and far between!

Hate to hear about the damage Nicole left, but glad you are OK! I need to do some grocery shopping today, too, but not for eggs and butter! I don't do much baking. Can't with Mark being diabetic, and I don't need the extra calories!

Good morning,
I've been busy the last couple of day with my friends. Tuesday was the widows' meeting and we had a good time there. Wednesday I did some catching up around here. Yesterday was back with the friends for lunch, some Rummikub and going to the shop to retrieve Ilene's vehicle for her. After that Carolyn and I were ready to call it a day.

Nothing going on here today except groceries. The sun is peeking through the clouds. My phone gave me a tornado watch notification. Makes me nervous since one of our homes when I was a teenager was destroyed by a tornado in 1974.

I need to go back and catch up on yesterday's chatter. Hopefully after I get back from the grocery store. I hate getting groceries! I hate anything to do with food any more. The IBS doesn't allow for "fun" eating any more! Grumble, grumble, grumble! Hate is a strong word, so I guess I should knock it down a notch or so......strongly dislike, lol! I need to change my attitude before I get my Attitude of Gratitude page started for today, LOL!

Have a good one!

Good morning ladies. Its warmed up to 21 F this morning, much nicer than 12 LOL. @faerywings yes, that was F not C. This week the temps have been in the teens. I got a pink parka for Remi and another tartan sweater for Taz.

I want to scrap, clean, get groceries and maybe go to the dog park later this afternoon. Nothing much going on today.

@faerywings yes, I imagine C is feeling a bit tired, having a full time work schedule now.

@LSlycord It sure would be fun to go on photo walks together. I'm so glad I am inspiring you to get out and take photos. Last night I dreamed I was standing in front of a lynx and there was no memory card in my camera LOL (there is often a lynx in a local park in the winter, so I must be subconsciously anxious for it to return so I might get photos).

Remi is standing in front of me, talking, (low level howl LOL). She wants to go back outside and play in the snow. So, its time to get dressed and get out there. HAGD everyone.

Hello! Just popping in to say hi. You won't believe how my computer is screwed up. I really didn't need this! It downloaded itself and my background is light blue instead of white and I can hardly see it. I'm about to scream - I've tried everything. ALL of my settings are changed. I don't do well with changes on my laptop. Somebody is trying to break me down. If I can't get this figured out, I don't know what I'm going to do.

Step doesn't think she's doing better, but they have moved her diet up from liquids to full liquids so apparently, the dr thinks she is. They took away her PCA pump and she's not happy - they're giving her pain meds by mouth and every so many hours pushing something in her iv. She's pretty miserable as you can imagine. Asher's coming over to spend the weekend with me - he has a school dance and his dad's bringing him over afterward. I think I'm going to send my laptop home with Brandon and see if he can fix it. This new setup is driving me crazy. Brandon needs Asher back for a couple of hours tomorrow night, so maybe he can figure out what's going on with this laptop - I've done everything I know to do.

Sorry to be such a downer. Yeah, that smart house is pretty wild. I don't like "anybody" listening to me all the time. They have a sensor in the kitchen that "listens" 24/7 and blinks every time you walk by it. It's creepy.
