AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!
I refuse to accept that it is November. REFUSE TO!
*stamps feet and gets ready to throw a tantrum*

At least I am not complaining about cold weather this morning. Thank goodness for the little things. :p
How was your Halloween? Guess how many kids we got?
One.
I was getting ready for bed when I heard the dogs barking. So we now have an almost full bag of Reese's for ourselves. I think that is one of the reasons we don't get super excited about Halloween. No one trick-or-treats on our street anymore. Since my town is so spread out, many kids get dropped off at one of the few developments we have. The little ones go to a trunk or treat. At least I am not spending big bucks on candy like a lot of the houses in the developments need to do. (of course, the houses in those areas are $$$$$$ so they might be able to afford several bags of candy easier than I can).

Yesterday's lesson on spiders was a bust. Not from anything I did but only 2 kids showed up. The 5 yo and the 9 yo so it was going to be difficult to adapt anything to keep them both engaged. We went on a spider web hunt and we found some pretty neat ones. We found a few funnel webs which neither Lauren nor I had seen before. I had yarn in the bags for a weaving activity but we went to a clearing off the trail and the kids wrapped the yarn around the trees to make a spider web. They did that for over a half hour and as long as they were having fun- why not? Lauren and I tossed in some information about webs as they worked so I feel like at least I tried to impart some new info.
Brainstorming for the field trips went great- I have a bunch of notes and ideas to type up/flesh out this morning, then Lauren will write it up as a proposal and we'll see what happens.

That is going to be a big part of my day along with finishing up my curriculum for the new session that starts on Tuesday. It's also the new month here so I have a bunch of CO things to do. I am starting to feel like I have bitten off my than I can chew. I need to be better with time organization that is for sure. Any ideas and advice?

The best part of my day-- taking both dogs to the vet. :thud: Hahah! Gary is planning on coming with me to deal with Jaida. She is a beast at the vet on her own but trying to get both of them in at the same time is toooooo much. She only needs her rabies vax so my plan is to get her jabbed and then sit in the car with Gary while I deal with the little brown dog. (yeah, we call W "little brown dog" even though she is 55 lbs. She is the smallest dog we ever had. And brownest. All of our other dogs were 60+ lbs and black)

And that's about it from smoky-smelling North Jersey. Still no rain (maybe a little this morning) and some kids lit fireworks last night on the opposite side of town and started a fire.

Have a fantastic :friday:

BTW- I reread what I posted and it comes off a little cranky. I am honestly *not* cranky today so ignore that vibe!

@taxed4ever I love that Halloween puppy GIF! Those babies would get alllll the treats if they showed up at my door. ♥
That's so cute that your FIL was excited to hand out candy, I hope he had fun. How did your grands do, get everything they like?

@AK_Tracy I'm sending you some chicken soup through the computer too. I would have sent the Uber-Moose but he still hasn't found his way to NJ. The soup might be a little cold by the time it gets there but warmer than if I waited for the moose.
I'm sorry that November isn't going to be any slower for you but at least you are crossing off more days left of work.
I love your Fiesty Grandma costume -- and your DD is Feral :rotfl:

@Terri M It was 77* when I left work yesterday. I'm not sure if that was a record or not, but if it wasn't, it was close.
Sorry that vacuuming aggravated your wrist. Definitely do not do that again!

@vickyday my doctor put me on Acotnel for osteoporosis. It's the once-a-month dose and all of the side effects and pain seem to be over. *knocks wood*
Sending you hugs for your dad~~~~
ITA with Mama Bear Tracy-- you really should get to the dr and make sure it is not getting worse!

@BrightEyes Yikes! That must have been a surprise seeing the ceiling fan hanging down like that. Thank goodness that DD#3 was able to get it down for you. I wonder why the box broke like that. So strange!

@BoatLady I have this feeling that I am going to be super-duper jealous of your weather and location all winter long. Hahah! Pool days and butterflies and birds... sounds heavenly!
I can understand why Halloween lost its sparkle when you worked at the fabric store.
What was your DS this year?

@mimes1 You are one busy lady! I feel like I have those days too- no idea where it all went and what happened. At least you are enjoying work, that makes it easier.
Have a wonderful time today thrifting!

@Cherylndesigns Oh no, how is Sam today? You must be so worried about him! Poor Daisy was worried too. Whisky was "off" the entire time Tom and Cait were camping last weekend. They are so tuned in.
(Aunt Chris @faerywings please don't give me grief - I've already gotten it from my family, but sometimes I have to do what I have to do.)
I would never give you grief about your pets. Not taking care of yourself-- sure. But you know your furbabies best. I hope that he is bouncing back by now. :hug3:

Love to you all! xoxo

I understand your feelings with only having 2 attendees for your field trip. I've experienced the same thing more times than not when teaching Sunday school and only 1 or 2 kids show up. Its hard to get the same message across when you don't have a lot of interaction going on during the lesson!
Good luck with the dogs today. Ours are due for their shots, too. I think Mark and his daughter are making plans for meeting next week to get the job done.
We never have any trick or treaters, either. Works for me! Let the richer people deal with them and spend the money!

I thought that might be what was causing your achiness. That sounds like what the doctor who did the DEXA scan wanted to put me on but I'm trying the bone broth, supplements and more exercise route first. I hate the thought of all the side effects. I may end up having to go that route anyway.

Ive been wearing my wrist support the last 2 days and the wrist seems to be better. I'm going to keep it on for most of the weekend and see how it feels on Monday. if it is better I'm going to order another brace so I'll have one for each wrist.

I'm curious about your comment about my dad (thanks, BTW...I sure miss him). Did you read my blog yesterday? Or did I mention him here and I just don't remember, lol!

Good morning,
I'm wearing my wrist brace almost 24/7 and that seems to be helping. It certainly is an aggravation to do hunt and peck typing, however! So quick in and out...
Today is laundry day, there's no getting around it!
Mark is in the woods - Surprise! ;)
My scrapbooking EHD messed up yesterday so I need to work on that today. It messes up if it is not ejected properly from the Mac and I must've bumped the USB and it thot it was being unplugged improperly. Usually I can plug it into my Samsung and it will fix whatever error is there. fingers crossed! It contains ALL of my kits!
We are expecting rain today, and the skies look like it, so I am dealing with a headache today.
Have a great day!

Good Morning!

Chris I didn't get any wine from your post. Oh wait you said whine. That's why! Actually I didn't get whiney vibes at all. How frustrating to only have two kids who up yesterday. I wonder if its the season of Halloween or if its colds. Seems the colds are running through the area now.

Thanks for the soup! I'll just heat it up when it arrives. Hope that going through the computer doesn't short anything out. :heartpumppink: :giggle4:
Yes my mom used those words at us as weapons and we took them and made them funny! She has no idea how much fun and laughter we get out of it.

You mentioned him here. I remember reading it. :heartpumppink:

Today I get to plow. We got about 8" snow yesterday. Made the roads super fun and almost a white out at times but we hit as many trunk or treats as we could and had pizza dinner and then hit the last trunk or treat. AK houses are too far apart so door to door is not gonna happen. The neighborhoods in town do but we dont. We never get any door knockers. Today is a break in the weather so it should be clear and cool.

Need coffee. Have a wonderful day!

Looks like today is going to be a PJ day... :rotfl: Might as well be comfortable as I do a few CT duties. Made a challenge LO and uploaded it plus a couple of other LOs. Need to put on the thinking cap for a few of the Nov challenges.

Decided to wait to call the electrician until I buy the new ceiling light fixture. That will be sometime next week. I did get smart and taped a small box over the light switch in that room to keep me from forgetting and flip the switch on. Since that light is on the same circuit as all the bedroom lights/fans and the hallway and garage lights, I had to turn the breaker back on!

@vickyday So sorry your wrist is bothering you so much. I remember earlier this year living in wrist braces (yes, 2 of them at the same time).... what a PITA that was. But the braces did help... so hang in there wearing them.

BBL... call coming in.

Happy November 1st O family!! It is a rainy dark day here, but the rain held off for the Trick or Treaters last night. We had 32 of them last night that's about 10 more than last year I think. Anyway it worked out well as we ended up with no candy left over Hooray!! The neighbour kids loved their treat bags and cards I made for them. One of the neighbours had been out mushroom picking and got a lot of Chanterelles which she made into soup so she sent a Mason Jar full of soup over for DH and myself yummy!! So today my DH is home on his flex friday so he drove his Dad to his Ophthalmologist as he needed to have his eyes dilated. He gets a needle in his one eye for his macular degeneration and they needed to dilate this time to check on the back of his eyes. Normally he just gets the needle once a month. YUCK!! it makes me cringe just thinking about it!! :eek2: . I am hoping that my DH can go into the office and maybe have a discussion on what is really going on with FIL's vision as he sure doesn't share anything with us or his wife . I am off to get coupons done and hope to catch up with everyone later on. Have a great :friday:

I have been working on pictures from our trip to Spain and Portugal, and at the same time looking at the flood damage in Valencia. We were exactly there in Valencia not three weeks ago. It's sad and scary. Especially after looking at all the same pictures from NC just a few weeks before.

We had our usual half dozen or so trick-or-treaters. I think there are more "productive" neighborhoods for them. At least I only buy one bag of candy, but I am never confident enough to only by about a dozen pieces; I would get anxious if it were 7:30 and I was down to 2 or 3 left. What that means is I have more leftover than I should, and David can't eat it, so I put it in the freezer and hope I forget about it, or at least limit myself to one a day.

I'm wearing my wrist brace almost 24/7 and that seems to be helping. It certainly is an aggravation to do hunt and peck typing
I had Occupational Therapy this morning for my wrist and now that it's 6 weeks from surgery they've started me on some strength building exercises. I had stopped wearing the brace for short periods of time, but I guess I got cocky and overdid it yesterday because I was feeling the ache last night. I suppose that brace will be my friend for a while yet but, yes, typing is no fun.

He gets a needle in his one eye
I had a torn retina a few years ago and got sent to a specialist. David drove me and intended to sit in the waiting room, but the doctor said, "Come in, I like the family members to be here." Doc was very good at hiding that big needle from me, but David has still never gotten over seeing him stick it in my eye. He brings it up now and again; since I didn't see it, I'm not bothered.

Cold front coming through, getting breezy and a cooler, which will be nice for the weekend. I'll have to think of something fun - still not allowed to ride my bike. But maybe there's a winery worth visiting.

Happy November 1st everyone! :eek3:

We had O.N.E. trick or treater, the 3 year old who lives across the street. We're not a big trick or treat neighborhood, and there are Trunk or Treats all over. Mark went to Costco to pick up a box of the "big" chocolate bars, since we knew we wouldn't have a ton of kids. But guess what? They were sold out! So Mark came home with one of those gigantic candy bags after all. So with our one trick or treater, we will now have Halloween candy for who knows how long. Our town and a couple neighboring towns open Main street for trick or treating the weekend before. It's super cute. By actual Halloween there's just not alot of trick or treating in our neighborhood. We even had bible study last night in our neighborhood. My sister in law was flat out offended that we had bible study (GASP!) on Halloween!! :floorlaugh:

@vickyday glad to hear the brace is helping!
@Terri M don't overdo it anymore without your brace!

The sale of my mom's house closed this week. It's been in the family since 1962. Kind of bittersweet.

And - Gunner got his stitches out. Finally. I bought 4 suits for that dog. Now that the stitches are out he's messing with it less and it's finally scabbing over, but his suit is still on. We turned the second chewed up one inside out so the chewed side is on the opposite side as his wound. He looks really funny in his inside out half chewed up suit. Hah. This is why he cant. have. nice. things!!

Happy November 1st.

Well, kitty is doing better - he's been sleeping all day. He's in my bedroom now, curled up in the corner on top of the sheets that I was going to wash today. Haha. As long as he's content, he can just stay there. I just checked on him and he's snuggled way down inside the pile of sheets. I think he got bitten by something - he seems to be fine today. He's not moving around much, but he's drinking and eating. He slept in his little basket all night, but wanted in my room as soon as I got up. I can't find any injuries on him, he's just "off".

Chris @faerywings hope you got along ok at the vet. I remember taking two big dogs in and wow it was a lot of work. That's when we had Bailey, who weighed 150 pounds and Macey who only weighed 45. Fortunately, Bailey was very well behaved. He could have pulled me across the street and back.

I got my flu and shingles shots today. I've never had the shingles vaccine before, so we'll see if I have a reaction. Adrienne has been worried about getting the shingles and we both went and got the vaccine today. I always get a f-u shot, so I'm not expecting any bad reactions (I've never had one so far). Not sure what to expect from the shingles vaccine.

I started this a long time ago - which isn't abnormal for me. Daisy and I are sitting here talking to Steph and here comes Sam. I was so thrilled to see the little man come walking in here. He just wanted to join the party. He's acting more like himself the later it gets. Whew. I'm so relieved, even if he is back in his basket.

We were going to go to the grocery store, but I was feeling a little flushed, so we decided to go get something to drink and eat. We have a new Sonic in town, so we went and got one of their lemon freezes - it tasted very good. We also got Mozzarella sticks. We decided to wait until tomorrow to go to the grocery store. We might put an online order in we haven't decided yet.

Other than that, I haven't done too much today. Got month end "business" taken care of here and had a couple of CT layouts done for other CT's. They were both winter snow theme, which was fun for a change. I scrapped a few of the girls loving the snow for the first time in years, after all of us living in Florida for so long. They're posted on FB and thanks for the love from some of you.

I hopr you are doing well - unfortunately, I don't have the "bandwidth" to do personals.

Hugs to ALL and XOXO

Our youth pastor (former) would send care packages to the college kids and fill the boxes with any leftover candy people wanted to get rid of. Maybe you can send some "love and hugs" in the form of candy to some college kids. would get it out of your house and help you not eat it.

Excellent idea - I'll take it to work and certainly one of the ministries will use it. (I'll keep a little bit for ourselves!)

Chris I wondered how you were doing, I saw the fire on TV yesterday. I can't believe how this is happening in NJ and still no rain. I hope you are doing ok.
Our fire in Livingston is still burning but contained and we can't smell the smoke at much, you can still see it though. Take care and I hope you feel better too. :heartpumppink: @faerywings

Tracy, 8 inches - oh my! And here we are having 80º unusual weather! You take care too. :heartpumpred: @AK_Tracy
