Nooooooo!! Guess what, my dear O-Fam? I don't think this is allergies, I think it is a cold. :hurt: Crud. I felt pretty ok for most of the day but by dinner time, my entire head felt like it was gonna blow up. I am guessing a cold with allergies making it just a bit more fun. We have stirred up so much dust and fur the last couple of days it is a wonder that any of us can breathe.
Gary did a second coat of spackle in a few places while I started to tape off the DR and finished putting the Disney Collectibles away. The four of us carved pumpkins in the afternoon. I did a baby bat- in honor of the "stupid baby" vampire, Jenna, in "What We Do In the Shadows." Scott did the "pi" symbol. Pumpkin "pi" ;)

I also needed to clean up puppy diarrhea right as I was cooking dinner. while we were carving pumpkins, W took off with what I thought were only a few bites of pumpkin. She must have gotten more than we thought because it went right through her. quite literally. Blech!!!
We got more T or T-ers than we expected. Gary gets so happy when the kids tell him that they like the house. One group said it was the best house ever. Every darn year, it is the same for me-- I get annoyed that I don't see him for a month. That the house is a disaster with pieces and parts of his projects everywhere. But when I see how pleased he is when people tell him that they love what he has done, it makes my heart so happy for him. He doesn't have a lot of ways to make him feel good about himself- like no good job reviews or a client telling him that the work he did was helpful.

Today, I have no idea what I am going to do. The thought of sanding and breathing the dust from that is making my head/throat/lungs hurt. I would like to tape off a bit more so I can start cutting in the ceiling tomorrow. Gary asked me if I have a time frame for this-- all I could say is the sooner it is done, the sooner I can get the house back to "normal." Then I will only have a short period of time before we decorate for Christmas. :faint2:

It is also Nov 1 so I have some Cheery-O things that I need to take care of as well. Enjoy the day!

Trudy- were you able to get everything done that you needed to do? I know that you typically got a lot of T or T-ers so you must have been busy making up the treat bags.
My Gary would *not* be bummed of he needed to get a new tool/wood working - Gah, why can't I think of the word??? Big ticket item for the workshop... he would love to get something new/upgraded for down there. Of course, he would have to deal with me nagging him about spending money- so I see where you guys are coming from.
I bet seahorses would be nice in your painting. Little seahorse families -- very cute IMHO:)
At the time that the Disney Cabinet broke, I was a SAHM to the kids and money was tight. Not non-existent like it is now, but not where I could replace anything like that. Family got me some new pieces for the holidays until Gray got sick, then just about every last gift was a practical one.
Was Halloween canceled? The weather must have been so bad. After Sandy, New Jersey had Halloween canceled, there still so many people without power and trees and power lines were down all over. Cait and her BFF still dressed up and walked to a few of the neighbors but didn't do actual T or T--ing. But they wee also old enough to understand why. if they were younger, I wouldn't want to be a parent trying to explain that. No way.

Kay- Oh wow. That is too cold to wake up too. After the time change this weekend , I will reset the temps on the thermostat. It was so warm here that we had a few windows open. We have a cold front coming in now but I hope it won't be as cold as you. Stay snuggled!
That is so smart to do freezer-cooking. The Tamales will be so welcome on a cold night that you don't feel like cooking. That is a great idea! I used some old cleaning rags for a few of the items but with three dogs in the house, it makes it hard to find a space that they won't get bumped into when they are playing. A lot of them went under my bed and others went on top of a cabinet in the BR :)
I hope that you don't have a cold- but if you do, the enchiladas sound delish!

Hugs to all of you! Again, please ignore all typos. I still haven't been able to figure out why Grammarly stopped working in the forum, esp since is is working in the Gallery. :noidea:

Morning ladies... very busy morning as I forgot to open the new challenges thread yesterday, then when I did I screwed up on moving some of them, sheesh don't do stuff before your morning coffee!! Hope that everything is ok now, thanks Kay for your help!! Sorry Ona for screwing up!! Anyway I have other things to get done here today too, so most of my morning will be spent here on the computer! It is a beautiful sunny morning, but very chilly!! Trick or Treaters were down in count from last year only 36 kids, when we first moved into this neighbourhood we typically would get around 100 kids, but it has been declining in numbers over the past 5 years. I had my facetime chat with Heather and Hunter this morning and their halloween did not go well. The kids were both tired and cranky and it was a fight to get them out there in their costumes, so not many houses were visited before they came home and got them into bed. LOL they were so excited all day long and then when it comes time to go out they both had a major melt down!! Ohh the joys of parenthood!! Talking with the family next door, the same thing happened to them, the little ones only did a couple of houses LOL.

Chris - No Halloween was not cancelled for our son's family as the storm did not turn out to be so bad as predicted. It still was rainy, but the kids got to go out, so that was nice! I am sorry to hear that you have a nasty cold now! That really sucks!! I bet your Gary was thrilled to hear the compliments on all of his hard work! Poor guy doesn't get to have the praise that he deserves, so I hope he was basking in the warmth of the Halloween glory! Still working on getting caught up here, it seems I never can keep up :mmph: Then when I try I usually screw something up like I did this morning! Oh well what are they going to do? fire me?? LOL sometimes I think that I should hang up my hat here at the O, but I love you guys so much and can't imagine not being a part of this great community!

So I will go and make my bed, empty the dishwasher, get another cup of coffee and head back here in a bit. Have a great morning everyone!

Morning, gals.... been up working on the computer getting some LOs posted. Trudy, had to LOL when I saw your challenge post and mine mixed together... Took me a couple of tries to get my LO into my own post. Was afraid that I would mess your post up...:eek2: Had to do a quick reverse page to prevent that. All is well that ends well. And the other good news is that the help with linking in the gallery is okay now. Yeah, I was doing a copy and paste... just added a couple of hard returns and that solved the problem. Whew....

Halloween was quiet here... I didn't have my porch light on... but didn't see many kids out. There are several churches that are doing a 'Trunk or Treat' for the kids. It is much safer for the kids and the parents are happy that it is done before it is night. Got a couple more photos of the great-grands dressed in costumes so will do a couple more pages.

Oh, Chris... so sorry it is a COLD!!! Not surprised with the weather doing a yo-yo lately and you with all you have been doing! Glad Gary was helping you out.

Weather is a bit warmer today. Need to go to the grocery store - out of milk and need more fresh fruit. The Friday/Saturday sale is on and I need a couple of things on sale, too. I did get the bills done and in the mail yesterday. Grabbed a couple of books at the library yesterday afternoon... then came back and vegged the rest of the day.

Yikes, I feel like I must have passed on our cold. Can that happen in the forum? Halloween night sure played a trick as this morning things had turned white. It's mostly gone now, but it is still cold even if above freezing. We finally got serious and filled out our ballots today and took them to the PO. Some controversy in our town and it will be very interesting to see results next week.

Chris, wish it weren't a cold, but hope it doesn't get any worse and leaves soon. Don't think you should be sanding with it (and at all without some kind of protection). Wonderful that T or Ters came and G got well-deserved appreciation. And it has to be worth the mess to see that happen once a year. Nice he's helped with the painting prep. Like Scott's pumpkin carving idea! Feel better soon!!!

Trudy, a relief the grands didn't get the event cancelled. Here we had a bunch of rain in the afternoon, but by T or T time (6-8 in our town) it was windy but no rain. Still think numbers were down but we keep our light off and don't get a good idea of them. We all appreciate what you do (even though we don't know most of it) behind the scenes, so a few missteps that got fixed are no biggie. About your paintings, have you considered octopus or squid? They're so fluid in movement sort of like your paint.

Kay, good to have it warmed up and get out for produce. I know you get lots of great fruit. Hope you get comfy later today and scrap more of the little kids.

Nancy, hope you're enjoying hockey. For me, now it's waiting for the equipment truck to leave in late January to head off to Arizona for spring training. Oh well, will watch lots of football with DH.

Felis, there's another letter challenge in which you could use your alphabet if you like. It's for the first letter of your favorite season.

Hi there!
This week I'm very disappointed from myself. Wasn't able to do anything properly!!!
I'm very embarrassed, but I couldn't make the third page for the Pot Luck challenge. This is why usually I try to not get spot before to have ready the necessary number of pages. But this time my enthusiasm trick me and I did it early. Was wondering do it's better to delete my post or left it?! But at the end I just did it, as there is only Barbara after my post. And this wouldn't change the winner if they drawn them by post number.
Other disaster was at the vet cabinet. I went to reserve the necessary appointments for November, but they told me it's not the right moment, and ask do they can calls me after the months start. I said of course, but actually I'm not alright with that! I hate telephone calls! First I hate how my voice sound, then I fels pressure when talk to the empty space. I can't figure out why in the century of social media people still use calls, there are my email, WhatsApp, Instagram DM, why for God’s sake, is necessary to call someone when you can just text her?! Especially when it's about 90% sure that they'll catch me when I'm sleepy, as my schedule right now is mess and I'm awake at night then sleep at morning, or commence with afternoon nap  . I go out of the cabinet, and with my mom was walking down the street, discussing and complaining about this situation, when one of the vet teh hurried and passed us, he is walked behind us few minutes eavesdrop on us, and my family speak so loudly. Sooo cringe!

Jean, thanks for the idea about the alphabet challenge! I definitely will do that! But shhh, I'll cheating, as I have lovely summer photo, and also summer writing is way more interesting, instead autumn/fall which start whit 'E' . It's November, so the snow didn't surprise me, for now here it was only at mountains, but the wind was even worse, it's brings smells of winter and lot of cold.

Kay, aww, don't say that, you are did all your tasks yesterday and what better way to regrade yourself than cozy time, can't be vegged, with sure! When I have to be out and spend time in crewe, this tire me a lot too!

Trudy, will you show us the children's costumes? Actually, Rae looks much happier after her decision, but don't do that please! Or at least don't disappear like her! Everybody make mistakes sometimes, it's a part of the human nature, few wrong Threads aren't big deal! We really appreciate your work for O, thank you!

Chris, Sorry to hear that now you are catch that cold! I start thinking that Jean is maybe right about transmitted through forum posts LOL . I can understand you perfectly clear, about the hidden fur! Once at year we pull out the refrigerator at the cat house, as they often sleep on it, and yukk! I wish I was able to do that regular, but it's so heavy, but also it's not possible the vacuum cleaner tube to sneak behind it and the wall. I dream in future to have possibility to change all closets and appliances whit built into the wall, or on legs, so to can clean behind and under them. My grandparents aren't think about that when they are decorating their house, or just the trend was this, but it's not functional for me now.

When we will see Gary's Halloween decoration? Is he post it at Insta or FB?
