Finally! I can see the sun! I woke up to more pouring rain but we should have sunshine for the next few days. A few passing T-storms too, but mostly sunny and warm.
I am taking off with my mom to the lakehouse for the weekend. I am going to putter around a bit outside and sip some wine and read some books. And eat. My mom will feed me 24/7 if I let her.

I ran errands, cleaned a bit around the house, placed about 10 puzzle pieces (darn puzzle!!!) and cooked tacos for dinner. They are the worst. So much prep work. Today I have to pack in the morning and my mom is coming to pick me up around noon.

I will be back on Sunday so y'all behave yourselves this weekend! :D

Nancy- Scott was doing forestry research yesterday, tracking gypsy moths and he lucked out. It was drizzly and misty all day but he got home about 5 minutes before the downpours hit. I hope that the weather will be nice by you this weekend.
haha!! I love how you describe who you are rooting for the Stanley Cup. I knew you would be mostly rooting for seven games
That was really nice of your vet to give you discounts/coupons. ITA that is is much better to be honest. Once, I forgot to pay for something that was under my cart and I went back in to pay for it. The people at customer service thought I was bonkers. It is good to keep the Universe's balance clear.

Jean- Caitlyn wouldn't eat the pasta if I used the same spoon for the shrimp if she knew about it, so I try to keep things separate if I can.
I hope that your neighbor's plants can perk back up. Nope, I can't believe that tomorrow is June, I still have all of my winter clothes down., and at the rate I am going, they are going to stay down ha!

Trudy- does your Gary know how to sit still? Ever?? Good luck getting everything done this weekend that he wants to finish and hopefully, you will have some time to relax as well. Ugh about getting your finger in the paint, hope it isn't too much work to sand it out. Ooh, I love coleus!
I hope that the sun comes out so Hunter can play.

Kay- the end of the month always sneaks up on me here too. I have two challenge LOs ready to go. I am really not scrapping as much as I used to now that I am not on the Challenge team. I think not *having* to do them makes it easier for me to blow it off.
Good luck as you continue your scanning!

felis- I was so happy to see your LO of yourself! That is nice that your sister lets you scrap her pages. Caitlyn sent me al of the pics that she has from the cruise so I am going to scrap some of them soon (I hope!).
I hope that the blues go away as soon as you flip the calendar to June. Only a few more hours for you!

Morning ladies... It is another sunny day here, so that means lots of time outside in the warm weather, staining the fence. Guess we better get an early start so that its not too hot when we are out there. First we have to get to the hardware store and get the stain! I went the other day because DH thought they had some kind of special scratch and save thing going on, but nope, he heard wrong. It is on today, hope we can save a bit on the cost!! We managed to get to the nursery and I got some lovely coleus for the planter on the porch. Hopefully they will grow and last all through summer and into fall. I haven't done much in the way of planters this year, it's going to be a busy summer and I don't want to have to be worried about a bunch of flowers not getting enough water! I have enough to water with all the perennials in the gardens! So only two hanging baskets and one pot of coleus. This morning I will sand and re- resin my painting and then we will be busy the rest of the day staining the fence. Yesterday I got my laps in and the pool was pretty quiet. The water temp was chilly as they are having a swim meet this weekend and they always lower the temp for those. While I was at the pool DH power washed the fence and trimmed the some branches that were hanging over the top of the fence. He is one busy guy!! :becky:

Chris - Your Scott must have been in heaven up there in the woods! So glad he did not get soaked!! How nice for you to see the sun today, at last!!! Sure hope you have more great weather for your weekend away at your Mom and Dad's!! Are you sure you packed enough wine for the trip?? Enjoy being fed by you Mom's great cooking!

Felis - I am hopeful that you will feel a bit more cheerful when the calendar page turns to June! I am sorry that I have not seen your page yet, so I will get to the gallery right away to check it out! Nice that your sister is letting you use her pictures from her trip! I hope you have a great time scrapping them!

Kay - You are a busy scrapper!! Hope that you got all your layouts completed in a timely manner and that you get to enjoy some downtime this weekend! How is your sore throat? Do you still feel like you are coming down with something? I sure hope not!

Well I better get the coffee pot on, my Gary is sleeping in this morning for a change, but I am sure he will be awake soon and then the work will begin LOL. Have a great Friday everyone! I hope the sun is shining for you all!!

Well, I had a "senior moment" last night. I was awake at midnight so popped in here and posted a closing post to the challenge I was hosting... I thought that May ended on the 30th... not the 31st!!! Fortunately I remembered it right away and deleted the closing post!!! I had been working on some June challenges which do end on the 30th. Not sure why I had problems going to sleep last night but it was 1:30AM the last time I looked at the clock.

I spend some time yesterday afternoon getting the checks for the bills written out. Then had to drive through road construction to get to the Post Office so they would be postmarked that day. On the way home, the winds were howling again, cloudy skies and it was spitting rain by the time I got home. Still having the ups and downs with the crud and feeling tired and cold most of the time. I had taken the heavy down comforter off my bed on Tuesday but put it back on yesterday as I was cold all night. I even pulled on my flannel PJs again.

Trudy, hope the weather cooperates with you so you can get the fence stained today. That is a big job. Glad you got your pool time in.

Chris, so glad that Scott had a good day in the woods. He sounds like he is in heaven doing what he likes. Have a good weekend with your Mom.

Need to get my shower... maybe that will help me get warm. Have a good weekend.

good late morning - wow you west girls were up early. I spent a great hour talking to my sister. It had been awhile so it was really nice to catch up. Woke up with intestinal distress and not sure why as I have not eaten anything weird. Yesterday was the pits just as I was going to my wellness swimming the thunderstorms arrived with lightning so they close the pool. But I did get in a walk with Luther so that was good. Today is sunny and should be up near 80 so glad to have sun and heat back. Luther is at doggie day care and boys at work so I am home alone. Hope to get more scrapping done. Sat. my son and his partner are catering at BBQ so that will be fun! We are invited so cant wait for their good food! The weather should be good.

Chris how exciting to be off to the lake with your mom. Love how she wants to take care of you. Yes and finally we get to see the sun. Scott's forest work sounds interesting. I hope they get rid of the moths!

Trudy sounds like you all will be really busy! I loved the photos of all your plants in bloom around your house. I hope to make it to the pool today. I am so missing hockey. I am sure the Bruins will bounce back. They have all season. If John Moore goes in I will have one more former NJ Devil to cheer for! I love coleus!

Kay sorry you are feeling blah. While in Florida I ended up with a dry cough and feeling blah. I am thinking it must have been allergies. Not sure if you have allergies but my area is saying this is one of the worst seasons since so much rain followed by so much growth. I know you have been getting rain. I had to put on my warm clothes too! Cant believe next month, next day is June.

Felis feel better. That is awesome that your sister is going to let you use her photos. I cant wait to see the pages.

Have a great day all!

Looks like it might be a nice day. DH did his bird survey and is now taking a nap. We did get out before the big rain yesterday and among other things I got some clip-earring findings so I could convert the pierced ones his sister gave me.

Chris, I know you'll be on your way with your mom now, but have a great weekend off with her and some well-earned leisure.

Felis, hope turning the calendar to June will perk things up for you. Your deal with your sister about the pictures seems fair to me. And we like to see each other here.

Trudy, another busy weekend in store for you! I'm sure the reworking on the painting will come out beautiful. We do want to see this one too. That is smart not to have too much flower maintenance for the summer when you'll be happily busy with family instead.

Kay, sure wish you'd start to feel lots better! The big comforter has been going on and off the bed here, but mostly on as I get cold even if I don't feel it to start so can imagine you doing the same.

Nancy, I was startled to see your Flamingo pages and realize how much that area has changed. We've stayed there in the distant past! I'm enjoying all the pages from this trip and memories they bring, but we haven't been to Florida for a long time. Hope you enjoy the day without all the guys and have a great BBQ with your DS.
