Happy Friday and Happy Birthday to my Gary! He is officially in the 50+ club with me. I hate that his birthday is so early in the month, it feels like I flip the calendar and bam, there it is. This year, the same thing happened with the kids who are both inundated with school work. Thankfully, birthdays are not big gift giving occasions but we try to either make something or do something as a family. I making him shortbreads since he ate all of the ones from Christmas.
I have to finish his card as well the one for my one nephew whose b-day is Sunday and then my other nephew whose b-day is Tuesday.

The weather yesterday was beautiful. I was outside for almost 2 hours. I wasn't planning on that but as I explained to Gary, it takes me so much longer to do things, especially since I am making sure that I am sitting most of the time, it throws off my time frame. I normally could clean out the one garden in less than half an hour. It took me much longer but it looks so much better. I took some offshoots of this one plant that grows quite large and replanted them up front. If they fill in quickly enough, I hope it will discourage the woman who lets her little dog on my lawn.

Aside from working on Gary's birthday things and some housework/bill paying, it will be a quiet day. The kids and I are taking Gary to the diner tonight - yay, a gift to me too since I won't have to cook!

Have a terrific day, O-zies! ::grouphug

Jean- yup, your weather a day later here in NJ again. Wet and cooler today which makes me happy that I was outside so long yesterday. Any pictures of the new drawing to share yet?

Nancy- I hope that your weather was as nice as ours up here. The sun did come out, not super strong but very pleasant. The STL *goalie* got two penalties? What a game!
I think I am going to add that book to my To Read list. I had read an article on The Atlantic (they have really good science articles, I am always sharing them with Gary and the kids) about how the reintroduction had balanced the ecosystem and I bet this book has a lot more info and research about it.
You are so lucky to see and hear them.

Trudy- your painting is just so amazing, I could look at them for hours! You are so talented and creative. I hate taking sinus meds, they always make my head fuzzy too I hope that you are feeling tons better today- head/shoulder (knees) and *nose* haha! I am so darn funny.

Kay- it can be hard to get the right temps this time of year with all of the swings in it. Comforter on/comforter off... yup, sounds about right!
Enjoy your time with DS#1, will be very nice if the family can get together for dinner. I guess because the 4 of us are here more often than not, I forget how much it must mean to parents when you are able to get some, if not all together. My mom kept saying how happy it made her that my brother and I were at lunch with them the other day.
Sorry that your errands got detoured all over, it is a PITB.
I got a robocall from the "FBI" last week asking me to call them. Uh... yeah, I don't think that is how the FBI actually works. The scams are so bad!!

HAGD-- waving hi to everyone, felis, Rae hope... you are all good!!

Morning, gals.

I have to tell what happened yesterday. I was busy using PSE 2019 making a Layout. I had done a save for web action and saved the reduced/flattened image as a .jpeg. Went back to the original psd layers and saved it not noticing that it had a .jpeg extension selected instead of .psd. I only noticed it when I went back into the folder later last evening and saw a while page symbol instead of the normal PSE symbol. After mulling it over for a few hours, I went back into the folder and erased the .jpeg extension and put in the .psd extension. That changed the symbol back to the PSE symbol. Then I clicked on it and to my delightful surprise, it opened PSE 2019 and all my layers were there! That will remind me to do a save layers as .psd before doing the save for web action!!! Guess all the troubles with my PSE this week made me forget to do my normal routine of saving as .psd before doing/saving the web size action.

Chris, Happy Birthday to Gary!!! Sounds like you have a bunch of family birthdays this month. Good luck on getting all the cards, etc done. Glad you got some 'gardening' time...and that you were sitting while doing that. Yep, that can slow down you down but at least you were able to do it.

I have given up on the landscape service I had contacted. I put in a call to a different one and hope they call me soon. Found ads for several others so will be calling around to see who responds. I did call a nursery and found a Raywood Ash tree in stock and got the price on it. So I know where to have the landscaper get it.

Didn't get my errands done yesterday... so have to do them today. Grocery store is the high priority along with a trip to the bank. Don't think I will be back here until Monday/Tuesday... depending on how long Son#1 stays. CYL

Morning ladies... A nice morning here, but still on the chilly side! I did manage to get a page started yesterday for the Heritage page challenge. I will work on finishing that today. Other than that a very quiet day so I might head out for a walk later on. I got in 30 laps at the pool yesterday and it was very quiet there, almost empty which is very strange! I enjoyed the use of a lane all to myself! The water was bit colder than usual, so I wonder if there is going to be a swimming meet this weekend? They usually drop the temps of the lap pool when that is happening. So a pretty boring day today, but that's ok as DH has lots planned for the weekend. I think we are going to try and get to the New Avengers movie on Sunday, perhaps I will get in a trip to Michaels too :becky: not sure DH will want to go, but too bad for him LOL. Last night we cheered loudly for our Bruins and they played a great game!! Our goalie was amazing and the one goal that he did let in should not have been counted :mmph: Oh well we had a great game!!

Chris - Hooray for getting out in the garden yesterday! Yes having to sit takes more time to do things, but I bet you are happy with your work!! Hope the woman with the little dog finds another place to let him do his business!! How rude!! :HapBirth: to your Gary!! I hope he enjoys his dinner out and his shortbread! :hungry: Oh Chris BTW that cute little site that I go to for the great smileys doesn't seem to be there anymore???? When I try to access it, it says this account has been suspended?? Wonder what is up with that? Now I will have to find a new place to get my smileys. Not sure if the ones that I transferred to the O will show up anymore either :mmph: I hope that you get all your cards made for all those birthdays coming up!

Kay - Funny that you got out of your routine for saving your pages! Yes I would imagine that all the trouble with your PSE kind of threw you off!! Glad that you got such a pleasant surprise!! Have a lovely time with your DS#1 enjoy every moment together and don't worry about being present here at all!! Hope you find a new and dedicated landscaper!

:hello: Nancy, you must have been happy with the game last night too!! Thanks for cheering for the Bruins!! I see you have been very busy scrapping too I will have to get to the gallery to leave you some lovin! We are probably cross posting this morning, so I will wish you a Happy Friday and hope that you have a great day!

Thank you all so much for the lovely comments on my painting! I will try to get it varnished and into my Etsy shop this weekend. Have a great day everyone!

Not just gray here today but with fog also. DH had canceled today's bird survey in part because thunder storms were possible. We're driving across the city soon so hope it isn't too foggy. Art class yesterday was interesting as the teacher demonstrated the use of watercolor pencils. She does beautiful botanical drawings with them. I played around with them some and think they could be useful in my drawings. I used a tiny bit on the one I'm working on but not quite finished. I want to visit the art supply store to see what they have in the way of colored papers I might use and get a few of the watercolor pencils. Maybe tomorrow on the way home from the historical society's genealogy committee meeting.

Chris, Happy Birthday to Gary! Hope you have a great family time at the diner. How nice you're making more shortbreads and the cards. Love the latest rat LO too. You were so good yesterday outside and sitting. Glad you got the warm day.

Kay, good to contact another landscaper. Hope this one follows up. You were so clever with the psd LO and changing the extension. Good thing the save knew what it was doing even though the name was wrong. Know you're looking forward to the visit of your son so we'll miss you but know why while he's there.

Trudy, oh my, your paintings continue to be so beautiful. Love the colors in the new one. Does the paint respond differently to the birch board? There must be a difference in the finished texture. Hope you are feeling better and without the effects of the meds. Congrats on the Bruins win.

Nancy, your Alaska pages have been so wonderful, sort of sad to see them end. Hard to imagine driving along Turnagain Arm without birding the flats The wolf book sounds excellent. We were in Yellowstone a very long time ago before they were back.

Good wishes for your weekend everyone.
