Whoa, ladies, I am one Pooped Out Faery! I made it through Scott's Birthday Round 1.
A day of Recovery and tomorrow is Round 2.
I should absolutely not complain- in fact I am not really complaining, just more of silly grumbling. I am so blessed to have such an amazing family. Leah's mom is having issues at work, so we invited her to join us for dinner. She gets along with my family and we were thrilled that she was able to make it too. Cait's BFF came over for cake. So we ended up having 8 of us for dinner, 9 for dessert. The gifts that Scott got made him so happy, I am not sure what his favorites were, but I think his Star Wars pj pants were way up there. The had the helmets of Darth Vader, Boba Fett, and a Stormtroopers on them. He was like a little kid- totally excited. He got some awesome records too, one old Pink Floyd, as well as the new one. And a mug with the line from The Wall from Arlene- "If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding"
And hot sauce. A lot of different hot sauces.
My son is addicted to hot sauce.

Unfortunately my PICC line is running sluggish. We did a heparin flush on Wed, and it didn't do anything. Did another one last night and hopefully it runs better today. I *really* do NOT want another trip to the ER for that.

We have an appt for Jaida's next distemper shot today too. Hopefully we will get the rest of the paperwork from her adoption so we can get a better birth date for her and get an appt for her spaying over the summer. The agency participates in low-cost spaying which will only cost us $20, but we have to find a vet locally who accepts that.
She is so cute and Ray is having a blast with her. They were playing tug with each other, and Ray kept "winning" which is important since that helps establish her as Alpha. Jaida also stole a bone from her, and she stole it back! Last week, she would let Jaida run off with it, so this is good news.

That is it over here. (I think that is enough, don't you??)

The sun is shining here, but it is chilly- I hope it warms up soon!

Hugs and love!

Trudy- I wish that you lived her so you could paint those rocks for us. We have two areas where we have our pets buried, and I would love to have a place outside for the ones we had cremated. We have the plaques that they gave us of their footprints that we keep up on a shelf in the LR but I would love to have an area for them too.
You are so lucky to have such awesome talent! I would imagine that the B and B guests will either really and truly appreciate it if they have pets or they will think that the stones are very sweet, in a curious way. :)
So exciting for Heather- I hope she sends pics so you can see the progress!

Schizophrenic is a really good description for my life ATM, Sharon. Maybe *that* is why I am dizzy all of the time! hahahah!!!
But thankfully all of the good keeps me from despairing over the difficult. At least , most of the time. ;)
Oh no, what a bummer about dinner! It is so disappointing when something looks so good and it turns out not to be.
I am glad that Dorene's prognosis is so good, but I am sad to hear that her kids/SO's/ex-SO's give her so much grief. :( Maybe this will give them a wake-up call to appreciate her more? One can hope...
How was golf?

I honestly don't know how anyone can cope with the loss of a child or grandchild. My godson died in utero 18 years ago, and it still breaks my heart. I cannot even comprehend the grief of losing a child. Cannot wrap my head or heart around it. I can still see the LO you did of your g-kids shoes with your g-DD's too. Hugs to you, always.

Jean- enjoy your trip!!! Fingers crossed for good weather!

good morning - missed yesterday as I had a great talk with my sister. We laugh so much. Then it was a quick trip to the mall for presents for my DIL birthday with is Sat. We are having a busy weekend. Got her a Pandora bracelet and charms. This will make other holidays easier as I can get her more charms LOL. Then came home and went for a walk and what do I see in the back area of my son's grade school but an osprey and two other helicopters and a group of Marines. It was awesome seeing them take off. It was part of NYC's Fleet Week. The kids all got to go on board the osprey and the helicopters. I loved seeing them take off. They were noisy taking off but they were really quiet in the air. It was fun walk but then it sprinkled on me. Came home and crashed. Watched hockey and fortunately no over time as the Ducks won a close one 2-1. Today off to get hair done then come home do some quick cleaning as Ashley and Rex are back for the weekend. So Sat is DIL's birthday, Sun is a Memorial day BBQ at my son's so that should be fun. Then Mon. Memorial Day is my 41st wedding anniversary. I am trying to figure out what does on get for a DH. I think so new grilling stuff. I can use it too! LOL

Chris so glad round 1 went so well. My son still love's his Lego's so not surprised that your son still loves cool PJs. Rest today! Hope the pic line problem is solves.

Sharon thanks so much for all the lovely comments on my pages. Looks like we have been married along time you 40 me 41 years. Where did the time go? It is fun now to be enjoying retirement. Though I am glad my DH is still working. I like my quiet time. Hope all goes well this weekend with the moving!

Trudy when Chris asked what talent did I wish I had it is always a toss up between singing and being artistic. My sister can sing and my BFF could draw. How cool to be able to do these rocks. I don't think we are allowed to bury pets in our back yard. But I bet the B&B patrons don't even mind if it is a pretty garden.

Jean hope your trip goes well and avoid the rain.

Have a great day all!

Morning, O-zzies! Just a quick stop to say HI and wish you all a good day and wonderful weekend. The radar shows approaching weather, but despite chill yesterday saw lots of birds and are having a good time. Probably indoors today.

Morning ladies and TGIF! It was a short work week for my hubby and I think he is glad that it is Friday already!! Last night we both woke up to the sound of thunder and pouring rain! I thought I was back in Saskatchewan LOL!! We rarely get thunderstorms here, but lately it seems to be happening much more!! Global warming is real!! We hit 27C. again yesterday, that's about 5 degrees warmer than it should be here. Looks like it will be a sunny day again today and my flowers look like they all survived the downpour. At least I won't have to water anything today :becky:

Chris - What a nice birthday round #1 for your son!! When they get older, it seems to get harder to buy gifts for our kids, when really they are happy with the simplest things! Then when you get to be much older, you are just happy to be able to celebrate another birthday! :becky: Hope you manage to get your PICC working properly again without a trip to the ER! Thank you for all the lovely things you say about my painting, I always loved art in school, but it was a girlfriend that got me interested in painting, she is an amazing artist and she taught me what she knew, I am grateful for her getting me going! Painting with acrylics is very forgiving, I bet you could paint too if you give it a go and just keep practicing! There are a few books out there to show you how to paint animals and flowers on rocks!

Nancy - What a fab gift for your DIL! The perfect way to solve the problem of what to get her for other occasions too!! My sister-in-law has a Pandora bracelet that she got from her boys and she loves it!! I don't think that we are allowed to bury pets in our yards either, but my sister lives on a big acreage and outside of the town limits, so they can pretty much do what they want.

Jean - How fun to be on the road again!! Hope you are spotting lots of birds and that the weather clears up for you soon!

Sharon - Oh dear, I forgot that you lost a grandchild!! My grandma heart breaks for you and your family!! I can't even imagine the pain!! But yes lets you and I wallow in this glorious weather together!!

I bet you are loving that it is so nice for golfing! Are you still getting your bike rides in also? You will be one fit grandma with all this activity you are doing!! Good for you!! Enjoy the day!! Happy swimming!!

Well today I will hit the pool again and then I have to break the news to DD, that the gift she wanted to order for Mason's birthday is no longer available
gaah-smiley.gif
I hate that this is happening!! Oh well she will have to quickly think of something else to get him darn it!! Why do companies do this to us!! :mmph: Ok off to get some coffee, have a great Friday everyone!!

Chris, so glad Round One went so well. These things are a lot of work, but so worth it when you have that kind of result. I sense the joy Scott had about his gifts. Hope your PICC line gets cleared up.

Happy anniversary, Nancy. Actually, I just had my forty-SIXTH! If we were party-people, I'd have to start planning for a 50th bash pretty soon. But we're not. I'm so used to "bird talk" here, that when you mention the Osprey, I thought at first you meant a bird! LOL What a fabulous show that must have been.

Golf. That course chewed me up and spit me out yesterday. NOT FUN. But my legs are getting tan! I NEVER tan...at "best" get a burn that might cool off some! LOL So this is kinda fun. I keep looking at my legs in awe!

Had the pool entirely to myself today. The school it is attached to was closed, so I guess people thought the pool was closed too. Monday it will be.

Jean, hope you're enjoying your trip and the weather cooperates. DH is about to trim some long branches off a cedar and our redwood so that I can see our bird feeder from the house and patio again. Love our little backyard aviary!

One of the gals at Mscraps (Romy parks there too, so as a guest CT, I've been active there for a couple months) lost a toddler niece last week. I tried to counsel her a bit. The only way you get thru something like that is taking one breath at a time and allowing yourself to cry cry cry. It's been 11 years since Morgan died, and I still cry once in awhile. For a grandparent, it is not only the loss of the child, but sort of the loss of YOUR child. My DD's life changed forever. She is not the person she was. And so many marriages break up with the loss of a child. We are blessed that DD & SIL became closer than ever. Their faith played a big part in that. I'm pretty sure that many of our emo DGD's issues are because she lost her sister. She was only 4 when it happened, but I think she has "survivor guilt."

Our home church is meeting at our house Sunday (usual host couple going out of town), so I need to do some dusting and bathroom cleaning. DH loves hosting the meeting because the house actually gets some semblance of clean! LOL

Tonight is DD's last night at the rental. They are so excited. Which means WE are too! So can't wait for our visit with them next month.

Yesterday was in the 80's and so glorious. Cool and cloudy today. It must be spring!

Hey Trudy! We really should form a synchronized swim team!

Haven't been on any bike rides lately. I'm bored with riding around my neighborhood, and DH hasn't put the rack on the car yet.

We saw a storm approaching yesterday as we were dragging ourselves off the golf course, but never saw the storm. Maybe it was just gathering steam before descending on you!

OH! As to burying pets in the back yard. PULEEZE!!!! Animals die all the time and their remains naturally decompose in earth. There are probably dead squirrels and shrews in all our back yards. Who is going to report someone to the Cemetery Police if they bury their pet in the back yard? Another case of "ask forgiveness (if "caught") rather than permission. [Same with cutting down trees on your own property!]"

Or maybe it was with you I can't remember!! Oh well here it is again if you haven't seen it already, good for a laugh! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-xjom73YXI As for the burying of pets, you are right there are all kinds of dead stuff out there and really who's going to know if you bury a pet in the yard LOL.

Well at least you got to go swimming!! DD skyped with me and talked for about an hour, then hubby needed me to run something to the office for him. By the time I got to the pool is was close to lunch and it was very, very busy! I couldn't find a parking spot to save my soul. So I guess I am off for a walk this afternoon :mmph:
