Happy Friday!! Are you ready for the weekend? I'm not! hahaha!!
Nah, I am pretty much on track for Sunday Brunch. It's just the parents coming up so no need to impress them with my sparkling clean house when I can impress them with my sparkling conversation and wit.

Oh.

Guess what I should do today?? :mopping: :housekeeping: :vacuuming:

:rotfl:

I cleaned the kitchen really well yesterday so all it needs is a good sweep/mop tomorrow. The vacuuming will also wait until tomorrow cuz the dogs will make a mess if I do it today.

I am surprised I am not hurting too much today-- I spent the afternoon spreading used-up planter soil over the sections of the side yard where the regular dirt is awful. The soil in the planter where I going to put my tomatoes is old and we are replacing most of it with new soil specifically for veggies in planters. No sense in letting the old stuff go to waste so Im dragging it around the yard and filling in a lot of bare spots.

[The soil in my area is hard and rocky and full of iron. My town was built around iron forging and there are still some furnaces as historical landmarks that you can see. Over the years I've been digging out rocks and lining the edge of the yard/ woods with them. The perennials I have been putting in those spaces are the die-hard, live-through-a-nuclear apocalypse type. Lillies of the valley-- you can't kill them. Currently, there is a ground battle between them and the poison ivy vines. Actually, I think they are on the same side. Fighting against *me* haha!
Anyway---- I digress. As usual. *wink*]

That was most of my afternoon. Another part of my afternoon was finding two more baby mice. Gary called the woman from the wildlife rescue and we dropped them off after dinner. She is assuming that there's a nest in the house and something happened to the mama. Mice usually have a minimum of 4 babies so she told us to keep an eye out, there probably will be a few more. I had to go with Gary for two reasons: So I would know where the place is if I ever needed to drop off and he wasn't around. And I wanted to see the wildlife babies! The baby raccoons are freaking adorable!! They chatter and chirp and totally want your attention. The two baby red squirrels- Cah-ray-zeeee! Never stopped moving or climbing or running about. Baby bunnies, groundhogs, and possums (oh my!)

My big plans for today are to go to the big indoor farmer's market to get the fruit for Brunch and salad stuff for the house. Everyone will be here around lunchtime so we hope to have a family meal if we can. If not, it will be Tuesday before everyone is under the roof at the same time.
If I can get it allll together (50-50 chance with me LOL), I will finish up with the soil today, and then early next week I should be able to get the tomatoes in the dirt.

Finish It Friday
1. I have a LO I need to finish and upload.
2. The soil.

How about you?

I will have to do some under-the-kitchen-sink cleaning today as I woke up to mouse :poop::poop::poop::poop: ON MY KITCHEN COUNTER of all places!!!!!!!#angry2

I like your idea of putting the old flower pot soil on the yard! I've just been dumping mine in the woods at the edge of the yard so I can rethink that task now! We have several areas in the yard that could be filled in! THANKS!

The wildlife babies sound so cute! I love all things baby, LOL!

@LSlycord Oh, that sounds like it is a big jump in the stenosis numbers. :( Please make sure you take good care and stay on top of everything that the Drs say to do. I know you will, but I gotta say it. Or I will worry. *fingers crossed that there are no blockages and that whatever surgery needs to be done will be simple and as non-invasive as possible* :sparkles1:
The 25th will be here in no time and I am not sure if that is a good thing to say or not. I hear ya about not wanting to board the dogs but it is the safer decision. That is most important.
Good luck when you talk to Shaun about school and the future. BTDT and it's hard on moms, but he is a good, solid kid (young man) and has a strong support system with you and Brian. Would he ever be interested in real estate? Maybe he could shadow Brian for a few days? I dunno- I am tossing ideas out there like you haven't thought of them already. *sheepish grin*
It sounds like Syd is acclimating well in Germany. Thank goodness for Facetime and texts. ♥

@vickyday I only do food composting when the weather is nice. The "pile" is in the backyard and I'd have to walk from the front to the back and I don't want to deal with it when it snows. Or if it is below 60* LOL!! I am a homebody too, I just wish I could see my BFF more often but we squeeze in time over the summer when she is off of work.
What good stuff were you able to get with your coupons/cash?
Hope that Mark's new meds do the trick!

@taxed4ever How awful for the man and his family, I hope that they find him...I am guessing there is no hope that he is on a remote island or isolated area alive?
The hike sounds gorgeous with all of the ferns. So refreshing!
Crud! Guess what I forgot about? Mother's Day Cards. I decided I wasn't going to buy anything for the moms, but wanted to make nice cards at least. :angry4: <~ at myself. Thanks for reminding me (again) and I just added it to my To Do list for today. When the weather is nice, the only thing I want to do/think about is being outside.

@Cherylndesigns Awwww, Ava must have been so happy to help out the hummingbird and see it able to fly off. Such a good story :heartpumppink:
White/off-white is such a nice color in the summer especially when you have a tan to show it off. I don't know if I would say I am lucky I can do my nails at home cuz I mess them up every time as it is, even with the UV light. The light that Caitlyn got for me is small and I have to be very conscious of rotating my nails to get the sides of them cured. She has a bigger, domed one but she also does her nails every week and I do *not.* I can only imagine what the ones at the salon look like.

@bcgal00 How are you feeling today? I am really glad that you didn't get sick on the cruise! I bet if given the choice between snuggling with you or playing outside without you, Remi was very happy to stay by your side. But I bet as soon as she realized you are feeling better and are upright again, she'll be talking to you nonstop. :walkingdog: :runningdog:
Oh, poor Bella! She really didn't want to go potty in the new area.
I hope that you share some pics of the yard with us too.

xoxo

I hear ya!! We have had problems with mice in the kitchen and we initially were worried one of the ones we trapped and released could have been the mom. But the babies are too young to have been.
I don't like them in my kitchen AT ALL and scrub the counters every day, just in case, make sure there is no food in the sink or on the stove, no crumbs to be found. Doesn;t seem to keep them away 100%

Sometimes I worry that I ramble on and on here (which I do!) but it makes me happy when it helps someone Yay!

Good Morning!
Got word yesterday that one of my Persnickety orders has been shipped! WOOHOO!! That's another reason I like them.....they are FAST! :runningdog:

Nothing planned today except cleaning under my kitchen sink. Woke up to mouse droppings today! :rollingpin1::furious:

Maybe I'll work in my shed again today. Mark will be in the woods, I'm pretty sure, since he is off today. He is still sleeping! I'm glad he is sleeping in this morning! I woke up early and couldn't go back to sleep!

Anywho, hope you all have a great Friday and weekend!

I went to B&BW for the free item, which is 2.5 times smaller than the last one I got! My favorite fragrance is Japanese Cherry Blossom. I wear it like perfume and it only takes a little dab so it lasts me a long time! The last time I got the body cream in a tube for free ($8.95 normally) it was 2.5 oz. This time there is only 1 oz. in the tube for the same price! WHAT???!!! They did have a sale on their body products. So I got an 8 oz. tube of the body cream ($16.50 normally) for $5.95 + 20% off. So I got out of there for around $5 poorer!

I went to Kohl's to spend my $10 cash. I generally only shop the clearance racks. I found 3 summer tops. I earned $5 more Kohl's cash + got 15% off. So one top cost $2.77 (originally $26), one cost $3.19 (originally $30), and one cost $3.22 (originally $20). So I got out of there with 3 new tops and less than $10 poorer!

So, I got some good deals! My kind of shopping!:cucumber::banana::cucumber::banana:

Morning ladies... I was up at 4am this morning :crazy:got tired of tossing and turning so just got out of bed. I went to my craft room and finished the gift box that I made for MIL. I figured if I can't sleep I may as well do something productive! It turned out really cute. I made it with my silhouette machine and added the butterfly that I had from a floral arrangement I got last year.
IMG-2837.JPGIMG-2838.JPG now I am debating as to whether or not to make a card also? I will see how my day goes I guess. I have to order a large bucket of Lee's famous chicken to take to the In-Laws on Saturday, it has to be picked up today because they don't open until after 11am and we will be up at the In-Laws way earlier than that. I have to grab a few groceries also and most likely this morning SIL Linda will want to go out in the kayaks as the lake is like glass again today. We did not go paddling yesterday as they resumed the search for the body and wanted everyone off the lake. As far as I know they still have not found him, so very sad for his family!!

@faerywings - Oh noo not more mice!! Hope that is the last of the babies!! Good for you for taking them to the rescue place! I bet the racoons were so cute! My friend from my hiking group sent me a video of two baby raccoons eating out of her bird feeder, they were just adorable! Hope you get your cleaning done and that the farmers market has lovely fruit and veggies for your family gathering!

@vickyday - Sorry to hear that you have mice droppings in your kitchen, they are cute little things, but do you want them in your kitchen?? :hahano:. Sounds like you scored big time with the shopping yesterday!! Gotta love it when you can get three new tops for about 10 bucks!! Wooo Hooo!!

@bcgal00 - Sorry to hear that you are under the weather! I sure hope you feel better very soon! Do you think it might be Covid? Guess it doesn't really matter does it ? Just get well and then you can get out with the dogs and enjoy the lovely sunshine and warm temps! Sending you lots of get well wishes today! :loveangel:

Ok Heather will be calling right away and I want to get my photoshop opened up and start to work on a page before she calls. I hope you all have a fabulous day today!

Good morning ladies. I was out watering the new grass in the backyard and Remi had her outside squeaky toy to play with. She wasn't happy that I was busy watering and not playing with her so she went off to the side of the yard and I thought she was just sniffing around the bush there. Nope, she played her own game...dig a hole about 8x8 under the fence and push her toy into the neighbors yard. She was so happy and proud when I turned off the hose and went over to see what she was doing. Poor girl, she couldn't understand why I wasn't getting the toy back so she could do it again. The neighbor will toss it back over but I'm not sure when I'll see them to ask so I'll have to find another toy for her to play with outside for now. She is whining at the door, knowing her toy is over there, it didn't go into the basket at the back door like it normally does when we finish play time.

@faerywings I can imagine how excited you were to see the rescue. I would have loved it too. Hope you get everything you need at the market.

@vickyday I'm so jealous. I miss shopping at Kohl's and getting the Kohl's cash. Sounds like you did ok at B&BW's too.

Today I am going to scrap a few of my holiday photos, finish unpacking and will go buy a sprinkler for the yard. Hope you all have a good day.

@taxed4ever We cross-posted this morning. The gift box is adorable! The butterfly is a great finishing touch to it. It's so sad that they haven't recovered the fellow yet, my heart breaks for his family. Have a good time if you get out kayaking again.

Vicky that's a perfect example of "shrink-flation". They think we won't notice. I've been buying some of same products for years and everytime I get them now, they're a little smaller, though they state the SAME amount, but "Hello", I'm not stupid. The prices never go down, always up. I got a notice from Amazon yesterday that Kindle Unlimited Membership was being raised from 9.99 to 11.99 a month, effective THIS month. That did it - I went and cancelled my membership. One of the richest men in the world and he's passing his "whatever" on to us??? :soapbox:

Good afternoon. I forgot to say hello before I started my rant on prices/sizes. :rollingpin1:

It rained so hard last night, and it's supposed to start again any time. No outside work for me for awhile. Casey came yesterday so our house is clean. Finish It Friday: I almost got ALL of the laundry put away - you all know that's my favorite (not) chore. I still have a few things in my big chair in the bedroom. :laundry:

Chris @faerywings I knew you'd love the baby bird story. How fun that you got to go play with the babies. My grandfather raised racoons when we were kids and one of them was mean, but the others were fun to play with.

I hope everybody has a wonderful Friday. We'll probably run into town at some point, but it depends on the weather. May try to wait until tomorrow. No plans until Sunday, when we're going to Ava's for our Mother's Day brunch. They came here last year, but she wants to have it this year.

Waving to everybody. :waving1:waving1
