Gosh darn it, I lost my post. I had a bunch of stuff typed out, Gary came in to say good morning and then my computer rebooted without warning. He thinks that we might need to strip it down and start from scratch. Or it could be a hardware issue. I don't like either option.

Then as I started the post for the second time, the New Post tab switched back to the Forum.

*grumbles*

But as I was saying initially- happy Friday!

I am pretty pleased with myself that I got a lot of stuff done yesterday. I finished making the tick tubes and today I am going to place them around the yard. I don't know how successful they will be, but if they even kill a small fraction of ticks it will be worth it. They are made with toilet paper tubes and dryer lint which you spray with Permetherin. Mice and chipmunks will take the lint to their nests (safe for them!) and then it will kill the ticks that attach to the animals.

I think it will help me psychologically since I get so paranoid about tick bites. If I feel anything on me, imaginary or real, and I immediately think it is a tick.

I painted the vases/bottles with a dark grey chalk paint and dug around in my closet for beads and wire and stuff to decorate them. That is my goal for today.

But OMG- my supply closet is a *wreck.* I have my Faery-Wings things on one side and the other side is random craft supplies. I had to pull out two buckets to look for the beads and I couldn't even walk through the floor area once I did that. I have to really go through the closet and toss stuff that has been hanging around for a year, all dried up.

If I have time int he afternoon, I might do a bit more yard work if it isn't too wet and muddy. We had strange thunderstorms last night. Just rolling thunder non-stop for almost an hour. No big booms, just long rumbles.

I hope that everyone has a great day and accomplishes everything they need to do!

My formatting is still strange, looks I like I am getting two hard returns for every one that I do. I will never, ever understand computers and technology.
:p

Nancy- how was the game last night, bet it was exciting!
That is really neat that your friend's DD is going to Thailand. Is it a reserve where they get to see the elephants? NJ traffic- yuck. It is the pits.
I love your resolution. It is something very hard for me and I wish I could do better. Any tips?

Trudy- the hike sounds great! That is the kind of "hiker" I like to be, I like to meander and read signs. I am the same at museums and people get aggravated since I take so darn long at the exhibits. :D

Fab idea of making photo books of your hikes!

Jean- We had some sun and clouds yesterday and looks like the same today. I will take blue skies and warm(ish) weather any way I can get it. I am glad that it makes you happy too. You are a genealogy rock star!

Cait makes her own dinners when she works late. If there isn't something that she can eat, she will make veggie burgers or ramen (ick), she just gets bummed when she asks for something special and then isn't home when I cook it. Since I never know when anyone is going to be here for dinner most nights, it gets hard to accommodate. Tonight Cait is babysitting and Scott is working and then off to Leah's. Gary was going to make homemade pizzas but that is a big task and the kids enjoy it. So-- WTH do I cook for us?
(I wish we had a decent Chinese restaurant in town- and money to order it. I am craving egg rolls. The takeout place here is disgusting :( )

Felis- That is our weather this morning-- Crisp is a perfect word for it.
Is the rash on your face any better? Maybe you slept funny or maybe new laundry detergent on your pillowcases causing a reaction? Good for you on getting the zebra pants!!! :high5: Wear them with joy and pride!
Cait's friend has epilepsy and doesn't have a license/car. She has to be seizure-free for a certain period of time- 6 months I think- and every time she gets close, she has another seizure and had to start at square one. The school's parking permit restriction is so silly.
I am like you-- fascinated with the elephant conservation efforts and would love to see any pics that Nancy's friend shares.

Enjoy the day!!!

Morning ladies... We are having the same weather as Felis and Chris. It is sunny but crisp this morning all that wind we had the other day blew in the cooler temps. They are forecasting summer like temps this weekend though :bliss: I was happy that I stayed home from swimming yesterday as I got a lot accomplished! I finished off my page for the Letter Art Challenge and did some :washing: I also got another hiking page almost done and hope to finish that off today. I pulled some weeds along the side of the driveway and made a nice dinner for DH and myself Cashew Chicken :hungry: It was very good! We watched the Jets win their hockey game and then caught up on a couple of shows that we had PVR'd. Big Bang was very funny but as I turned to say something about it to my Gary, he was sound asleep in his chair LOL. Oh well he can watch it tonight perhaps?

Chris - That is so weird about the formatting of your posting here! I wonder if perhaps its time for a new keyboard? I hope that you can get your problem with your computer solved without having to start from scratch again! That is so frustrating :frusty: You had a very productive day yesterday! I think those tick tubes sound so great and you would be helping out the little critters too! I hope that you manage to get your supply stash all cleared out and looking organized! I need to do that to my closet, I still haven't put away all my winter things and I am having a terrible time trying to sort through what I can wear for the spring/summer. Have fun finishing off your vases today, I bet they turn out awesome! I would have loved to hear the thunder that you had yesterday, we very rarely get any here and I miss those intense storms that we had in the prairies, its the only thing that I miss :becky: I hope you get to be outside in your garden today!

Jean - Sounds like you have been having some lovely weather and have been enjoying your genealogy meetings! How nice that you were able to share your new info with everyone! I am so happy to hear that the spring weather is making you feel a bit happier!

Nancy and Rae :hello: I hope that you are both doing well! Nancy you are probably sleeping in after watching hockey late into the night! Rae you are most likely very busy with work and going to the hospital. Take care!

Today I will do some laps, then get my bone broth all bottled and store some in the freezer, hopefully get my grocery list prepared for tomorrow and maybe even spend some time outside in the sunshine. Have a lovely Friday ladies!

good morning - I am late in posting as I am a tad sick. Weird to be a tad sick but it is just intestinal distress (won't go into details but not diarrhea) I slept most of the day. But felt better as the evening rolled around and was able to watch the hockey game. The Jets were amazing and Preds came out flat. How a team comes out flat in a must win game is just surprising. I think Pekka Rinne needs to see a sport phycologist as he tends to play well away from his home rink but once in Nashville he forgets how to play. He did the same thing last year in the finals with Pittsburg. Nashville just could not win at home. The Jets look really strong so it will be interesting to see how much rust if any the Golden Knights have when they play on Sat night. Tonight is the first game between Tampa and Washington. Should be good. Today Luther is off to doggie daycare and I can just rest.

Chris glad you are getting the gifts done. My son told me what he got me for Mother's day and it is a crack up. Turns out there are light bulbs that are also blue ray speakers. The light can be controlled with your smartphone. He really does think about me. I think you are the same about your mom and MIL. I am sure you have passed this down to your kids too!

Trudy the hike sounds and looked awesome. That tressel is cool. Your dinner sounds yummy! I love chicken and cashews! Our weather is cool but last night was our first real thunderstorm of the season. It was pretty impressive but no damage. Have a fun day.

Jean I forgot the Mets manager was your former pitching coach. Poor guy to have this happen but it just seems like the Mets have gone from hopeful to the pits. You are a genealogy rock star.

Felis the spring always seems to be a time of changing weather. Enjoy the pants and the sweater. OH no about the weird spot on your face. Hope it goes away soon!

Waving at Rae
Have a great day all!

Felis - I almost forgot to catch up with you! I am sorry that you have a some kind of allergic reaction or something on your face!! Does it hurt when you touch it? I pray it isn't something like shingles Yikes that would be awful!! :fear: Sorry I tend to always think the worst LOL at least that is what my Daughter is always telling me. I am happy that you decided to purchase the zebra pants, so fun and who cares what others think! If they make you happy then that is all that matters!! Enjoy them every chance you get!

Nancy - Ugh that is horrible that you are not feeling well! DD and the her whole family had a stomach bug the other day, she said it was weird it only lasted about 8 hours and then they were all fine. :noidea: Oh well I hope that you catch up on your rest and are feeling tip top again soon! Glad to hear that no damage was done by your storm the other day! Take care of you!

Good morning, ladies. I've been missing most of the week, being very busy with the hospital and work, not much time for anything else right now.

Long story short, B is regressing, getting worse and the fight with the hospital continues. Jen just left, having come over to print out insurance forms, fill them out and fax back to them, requesting a second line treatment drug for B that will need to be administered 4 times over the next month. It's over $12,000 so hopefully the insurance will cover some or all of the cost. The hospital has agreed to give it to her.

I'll be back when I can to visit and hope all is well with everyone. I miss you all.

DH did his bird survey this morning and is now napping. He had lots of migrant birds but few warblers other than what will be resident Yellow Warblers. In the neighborhood yesterday we heard and saw a Nashville Warbler, so know things are moving.

Felis, hope your face has gone back to normal. The zebra pants sound like such fun and bet they look great. I'm imagining them with all sorts of different tops. Hope your weekend will be calm and pleasant.

Chris, those tick tubes are such a great idea. DH treats his clothes and muck boots with permethrin that he wears for the bird surveys. We are firm believers in using it. I can see the problems with your meal planning. So simple for us as it is always just the two of us (and we eat out mostly anyway.) Too bad doing the vases led to craft closet chaos. Still, they'll be beautiful.

Trudy, very productive day yesterday. Love the Letter T and its page. Hope you had lots of room at the pool today. My DH spends much of his TV watching with his eyes closed but somehow sees the parts he wants to I guess.

Nancy, oh no, not  Hope it was just a short-lived bout and you're back to normal. Good thing Luther went to day care. You'll have to explain about the light bulbs and how they are controlled. Sounds kind of nice though.

Rae, hope the weekend brings you a break from work and some nice weather. Sorry B has regressed and hope the insurance comes through.

Good morning girls,
my skin is a little better, but still not fine, so I decided to skip this weekend grocery and let it to the others ;) not bad. No, Trudy, it's not painful just ugly. But I'm like you I always predict the worse. I went out with my sister, because we had plans for the afternoon. And at first tried to covered it with BB cream, but it's not match to my skin type and my face start looks like web of fine wrinkles. I think I saw the future :D and I have to stop smile immediately. However I take it off and got better result with makeup powder. Till I was trying to figure out some makeup tricks I found this video of the song by Rihanna. https://youtu.be/z7i5qS5nCAA It's pretty cool, watch it if you found some time this weekend. Oh, you all are so sweet, thanks for the encouragement! The zebra print pants have lovely fabric, and one of my favorite actress Gemma Chan wear this print with white top, but I prefer black sweater, I think they matched good.
And speaking for actress, after all these ''Breakfast at Tiffany's'', " Walk the Line" and „Persuasion” from previous month, (which by the way inspired me to scrap few movie fan pages, I'm still work on it), was time to wake up about how actually the love looks like at the real life. And I just finished first season of the "Big Little Lies". Reese Witherspoon is another of my favorite actress and this show is just brilliant!!! Now I want the book too! It's good that the big book sale will be at the end of this month, so I'll try to found it there. I'm excited because this is one of my favorite events for the summer!

I have written one careless post, but it was before to read Rae's one. Oh, how much I sorry to hear that things are gone worse! Poor Bailey!
Rae, if have any way that we can be helpful, please don't hesitate to ask us! Please! I strongly hope that the insurance will cover the cost, because OMG this amount is so BIG for my country. If in any moment you have needs, we can help you with popularize of fundraising campanies (it's very popular practice here for people who needs medical treatment). Or maybe to do something like handmade stuff sale, will be difficult with the delivery, but we all can try join with some stuffs. If you have other ideas, please don't be shy to ask! Poor Jen, it's never end! I'm worried for her nerves too!

Chris, so annoying to lose your post! Congrats for those so busy but successful day! Oh, yes we had thunderstorms too, and when I looked out, I found the neighboring dog Foxy to hide deep in her dog house and my precious Biggie to lie at the center of his yard and to collect rain water, like some strange kind of bath sponge. He just piss me off! It takes me so effort to push him inside, because *ONLY because of the rain water, I swear! :) * he is becoming so heavy. Crazy boy!
I was understood that Cait's friend don't have a driver license, but when the reason is health disability you have right on personal driver, and to receive your school's parking permit, they don't have right to restrict her because it's form of discrimination. She deserve one place like everybody else. But maybe girls are to shy to argued for that.

Trudy, you was mentioned me at the beginning of your post :) , so even only this it would be totally enough. Don't feel need to follow every boring things I discus! But it's so sweet from you to come back for left me my own personal post.
Sounds like you are had great beneficial day too. I saw the pages you're made and they are lovely! I hope you had fun time at the pool and it wasn't crowded! Enjoy your time outside in the sunshine!

Nancy, sorry to hear that you not feels well! As others, I also hope it's not something serious! With that weather differences every day, many people have problems these days. Take care for yourself! Is these bulbs are support music too?! I think I know them, if it's the same. Looks pretty cool!

Jean, we wait one yellow bird to come back too. I'm not sure for her kind, but she lives at one bush at the field, on the trail for our usual 'wild' dog walks. She's very pretty but small and too fast for my cellphone camera. Most birds are come here already, but she isn't yet.

Have a lovely weekend you all!
