Is it Friday or Monday? When my alarm went off this morning I thought it was Monday. Having everyone home 2 days in a row threw me off. Not that it takes all that much these days but I was so confused for a few moments there.

Yesterday was a lot of shoveling. You would think that having 4 cars in the driveway and not much room around them would make it easier, but it seems to make it harder. We were running out of places to put the snow.
We also played Scattergories whih was fun. Cait has the best vocabulary and kicks all of our butts when it comes to word games.

When I took the dogs outside this morning, there was a dusting of snow and my first thought was that I wasn't going to DMV. Any excuse to get out of that. But I really should just suck it up and go. I got all of my documents ready and that is half the battle. I don't know how other states/countries do this but in NJ we have to do a 6-point ID check where you need to provide official docs from different lists that are worth different point amounts. One from Column A, B, C...I just gather as much crap as I can and bring it all. I have seen too many people wait on line and get turned away b/c they are missing one bit of information.

Before I leave, I have to check to see if Skyline Drive is open. I think that must be like the mountain roads that Trudy would have to take to get into the mainland area? If it is snowy or icy, it gets shut down first. There are other ways to get to DMV but it would take forever.
My alternative is to work on my taxes instead.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day!!

Nancy- hope that NJ Transit is running better this morning for your DH. I heard that roads and highways were really bad up here. Rt 23's traffic lights were all out. And a man was killed after driving over a live wire 2 blocks from where Cait brings the girl she babysits to therapy every week. She was supposed to drive her last night and I was happy when she told the mom that she couldn't.
I really cannot wait for summer!
That is great news that DS is just about all moved back into his room.
How was the game last night? Hope that the Devils had enough goals in them to win.

Jaida loves to be outside in the snow and since she is on a lead, she can run around and jump into the drifts. W can't be on a lead because she will still find poop if we aren't watching her completely. (ick!) But even R likes to play in the snow so she will run around with J. W presses her face up against the window to watch them LOL

Rae- that is great news about the eye contact and that she can sleep next to Jen. That has to be such a comfort to both of them. Keep taking care of yourself too.
Love to all of you!

Trudy- Oh I can't believe that I didn't think of JK Rowling. She is a role model too. And Emma Watson!! I adore her as both Hermione and as her very strong self.
That is a long hike! I am amazed that you weren't jello the next day. :high5: On adding more and more laps!
I knew that you would have the best advice for Rae having BTDT. It must bring back lots of scary feelings of what you went through too. Hugs~

Jean- I am thinking that the 70's were actually much more progressive for women than it is today. And ITA about it being "International" As I was scrolling through the Twitter hashtag, it was fascinating (and somewhat sad) to see the huge differences in women being honored from US accounts vs other accounts. And so many women, especially African, that I have never, ever heard of. Women in STEM... Americans live very sheltered lives. (generally speaking of course!)

Lynne- how nice of you to say that! You are always welcome to just pop in and wave hi! Sending a big hug back to you too xo

Felis- Like I said to T-- I am shocked that I didn't think of JK Rowling. Bad Faery! I admire Oprah very much but I think my reaction to her at this precise moment in time is that I am cautious about her b/c of the rumors of her thinking about running for President. We really do not need another celebrity anywhere near the White House. Just my opinion *winks*
When this snow melts, a lot of it will run into my basement :(
There is a small creek at the end of my street so some will run off into there. The woods behind my house are swampy so that will also take some of it. I won't complain too much since we have well water and when we are in a drought, it can get nerve-wracking.
I am really bummed about Scott not working at the garden center (Did I tell you all that it is closed for good? Drat!) because he always brought me home flowers to plant. I don't do well trying to grow from seed.
ITA with you-- Lynne has the best imagination and I love playing with her kits.

Better get going if I want to get to DMV before lunch crowds.

good morning - whew the house is mine. Luther is at doggie day care and the boys are at work. My DH's aunt passed away and they are having a service for her on the 17 so he is going out for the service and to see his relatives before he loses anymore. But the cost is outrageous and so I am staying home. Yesterday we took Luther out to the park and it was so pretty. My Devils lost to the Jets but it was only 3-2 and Cory my goalie gave up one that he really should have had. Now my team is on the road for the next two weeks playing the best teams in the West. I have faith my team will compete hard but not sure how many they will win. Taylor Hall did not get a point so his streak ended but it was an awesome streak so happy for him. I lost my second line center Travis Zajac to a hit from a Jet. It was a clean hit but it was a really hard hit. Looks like a shoulder but no update yet. Today is some laundry and scrapping.

Chris going to the DMV is my nightmare. But if you have the documents you should be fine. I think going this time of the month is good as it is not too early or too late when everyone is rushing to get their renewal done. That is so sad the garden store closed. I know that Scott liked the work. Maybe there is another near by. Playing games with the kids must have been such fun and a reward for shoveling.

Trudy so glad that the hike was good even if the weather was so so. I knew you were with Heather during her recovery just did not realize how bad it was for her. I know that the Ronald MacDonald houses are so important never knew anyone that used one. I always leave extra money at the MacDonalds when I eat there. Amazing how well Boston is doing without Bergeron and MacAvoy. So many players are getting hurt at this time of the year. Makes you wonder if the season is too long and hard on player's bodies.

Rae thanks for popping in and letting us know how Bailey and Jen are doing. That is so sweet that they can sleep so near each other. More eye contact is awesome!

Jean glad you only got a few inches. People in my town are still without power and in the state it is really bad! I cant believe how lucky I have been.

Felis I do have a fenced in backyard. Luther can go out anytime. I often think I should get another dog for him as a friend but then I think I am just too old for that. We take Luther to parks for him to be able to run more and find new smells and for my DH and I to get some exercise. Hope you had a great day!

Lynne how nice of you to drop in!

Have a great day all!

Happy Friday everyone! The sun is shining and it looks like it will be a very day! Not much happening for me today, perhaps I will wash the car and do some :washing: I will send some of this warmer sunshine out to you in the east. I can't believe how much more snow you all got! :sorry: I worked on a layout yesterday and it took most of the afternoon, but I am happy with it and will post it sometime this morning. Lots going on here at the O in preparation for the birthday party, so exciting!

Chris - Ugh on having to go to the DMV, it sounds just as bad as they portray it in the movies /TV LOL. Yes your skyline drive sounds like the Malahat Drive that we have to do to get to Victoria, however if it shuts down there is no other way to get there except by the little ferry that runs across the strait. If you are past that spot though and get stuck on the road because of an accident you are screwed and will spend hours upon hours until the road is cleared again. Not my idea of fun!! So we always check the weather cams before we leave to go to Victoria and listen to the radio in case there is an accident reported. The joys of living in the mountains :becky:

Nancy - How nice to have the house all to yourself this morning! :sorry: to hear about your DH's Aunt passing! A good thing for him to do to go for a visit and see others that he might not get to see again. Glad that you son is all settled back in and that the clutter is cleaned up for you! Yes the Bruins had an exciting game last night despite the refs LOL so many bad calls in all of the games it seems. I think you are right and perhaps the season is just too long and so hard on the players! Yes Ronald McDonald house is a wonderful place and we always donate to them! It would have cost us a fortune to have to stay at a hotel or rent a place while DD was hospitalized, we are always grateful for it! Enjoy your quiet day today!

Rae - That is so nice to hear that Bailey can be next to her Mother, sending you loving thoughts and hopes that the recovery is swift and you will have your Bailey back with you again soon. Did you ever get the results back from the EEG? Hoping for good news! Take care of you!

Jean - Good that you had a lovely meal safe at home, nothing like a good burger! It was so funny when Heather told us about Mason's bus ride, (typical for him) he was going on and on all morning, saying when is my bus going to be here, I can't wait to ride the bus!! Then when he got on the first step of the bus he started to cry!! Poor little guy, he gets so worked up and excited and then breaks down, but he did it and now I wait to hear how the ride back home after school went. What a kid!!

Lynne - How nice to see you here with all of us! Join in whenever you feel the need!

Felis - Congrats on being featured on NBK's Gallery highlight! Its never a waste of time to learn new things, even if you don't ever use the lessons again, its something new learned and that is always a good thing! Yes I finally got to talk to Mason on facetime the other day, he is feeling much better and was going on and on about how he wants to go for a hike with me. I hope that this summer they will visit and I can take him on some nice little hikes with me. Hope that you had a lovely today and that the sun was shining for you!

Alright I need my coffee fix and then will wait for Heather to call, looking forward to a nice day of not doing too much. Hope to scrap a bit more and think of something new to have for supper tonight. Have a great day everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Thx again for all your kind words, support and prayers. It means a lot to me. I am accepting my limited online time right now and will not worry about it. My focus is a bit of desk work, being at the hospital and then a bit of time at night to be still, watch tv and de-stress. I slept a bit better last night but am still tired and kind of shell-shocked from all this.

Yesterday B took some ice chips and let me hold her hand, tapping it a bit which I took to mean yes. Then she let me feed her some gooey cranberry stuff, about 1/4 cup. So that was the first real nutrients her body got aside from intravenous. I am going to be doing as much care for her in hospital as I can so that she will be comfortable with me touching and assisting her. Eventually when she is ready for discharge, the plan is for her to come live with us (and Jen too for an indefinite time). Hopefully we can keep the addict boyfriend from getting to her. The hospital is not working with us and it is a nightmare about trying to keep her safe. Jen is glued to her side 24/7 but they are saying when she is ready for a step-down unit it won't be a locked ward so he can come and go. We are terrified of him messing with her mind during this altered state. Keep those prayers coming, please.

I'm getting back to work for a bit before heading back to the hospital. I hope to have a bit more sleep and restore my energy over the wkend. Poor Taz needs some time too. I've not walked him all week and barely get in a few minutes of playtime in the evening when we get home.

Have a good day, everyone. I'll check in tomorrow with you all.

Can it be Friday already? Somehow the week is a blur. Well, we got more snow but our plow guy never showed yesterday or today and I had to get out. I needed fasting blood work and put it off until the last day of the lab order. (Chris I bet you can relate.) Anyway, straight out of the garage I could probably have made it but we have to turn to get around the corner of the back porch and I couldn't do it. So put the car back in the garage and started shoveling. DH came out and did some too and then I got out OK. But sure glad they weren't testing my BP today!

Felis, yes, I quit work on the courthouse book idea (I didn't have a publisher or anything) when the other book came out. There is barely a market for one and certainly not for two and I'd only done about half the counties. But, by then I was really happier doing genealogy anyway. The work didn't go to waste though as I developed a genealogy talk around the courthouses and have given it a number of times. And I realized the stamps from 1975 were for International Women's YEAR. This is a Pinterest board on the subject: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/387098530447415093/ Most are designs and don't feature specific women. Glad you got featured. Hope you've had a good day.

Chris, the DMV sounds really weird compared to here but our process will be changing, so who knows. Can't imagine you doing all that shoveling. I think we knew the garden shop was closing, but didn't realize it was totally shut down. Poor Scott and you too. And poor W having to watch the other two play in the snow. What a shame she has that bad habit.

Nancy, what a nice day to have the house to yourself. Glad you were spared some of the awful weather and that the guys could get back to work. Wishing the Devils well on this road trip!

Trudy, enjoy the sun today and have fun getting ready for the party.

Lynne, how nice to see you stop by!

Rae, thinking of you and yours!

Wishing you all a good weekend. ::grouphug

I didn't scraped anything. At Friday sun was shining so bright that would be a shame to not go and work at the garden. Which I did. So I was very exhausted after that.
Have a lovely weekend! :cof3:

Jean, very pretty stamps in this board, thanks for sharing! Good that quitting from the book is not disappointed you, lovely layout!

Trudy, I'm very exciting for the O party too! Oh it would be awesome if Mason come with you on little hikes! Did they will left you kids for a week at the summer so parents to have a free time or they will come to? Here grandparents often takes the kids till parents work thru the summer vacation. I just love your LO! I really have to go and comment at the gallery!

Nancy, don't make me laugh!!! You are double (and even more) vigorous than me, with your dynamic lifestyle! It wouldn't be any problem for you to have second dog. And good people have to adopt more dogs, because they really need this chance! Wouldn't be fun to have one big and one small dog like me?! Oh, oh, or two big :) . If you found 2 or 3 years dog for adoption it's already skip the baby phase and not make so many mischiefs. I love 5-6 years pets, because they are already quiet and obedient, but not recommend them for everybody because shelter animals on this age lives only 1- 2 more years, so for most people is too painful to handle it. But no matter how much I want to convince you, I can't be hypocrite and not to make you note that socialization of the both dogs will be long process and Luther probably will be jealous at first. So that is what you have to considering, not do you will can, you definitely could! I also want to get one more dog. Will be so fun to have middle one to my group. But after the winter open some kind of hole at my roof right now I just can't find enough money to fix it and pay for new vet bills.

Chris, I'm not sure what DMV is, but hope you did it easy and traveling in these snow roads don't put you in danger! About Oprah, she makes big impact for the women's around the world and she is inspiration. She first start to talk how victims can survive and rise after violence and many other important subject for successful independent woman, descendant of slaves which now can be leaders and etc. Aww, hope your basement to not be flooded! Its happen here right now at some towns and poor people are very stressed, their animals too, because have some flooded farms!

Rae, the progress of B sounds encouraging hope she going in this way! I can hide that the situation with her boyfriend sounds really scaring for me! he should not regain influence over her! You must have menace him that you are got a restrictive order, and will report him if not stop coming. You have to be very convincing, and better your husband to do it, not Jen, because he can go angry and hit her. How sad that B can't to rely on her father for protection! I realize that this isn't fair for B, but it's important to save her, she will be happy with better love in future! Love that kills you is not love but obsession.
